Top place. Food was awesome. Cocktail innovations appreciated. Front of house and Chef Roberts all brilliant. Looking forward to taking the family next time.

Extremely unprofessional staff. The owner/barman became upset that our party booked a table at the restaurant portion instead of the bar despite only wanting to drink (there is no difference between the two when booking a table online; I'm genuinely confused a distinction is not communicated properly) and said that we were occupying tables that (theoretical) 'restaurant-exclusive' customers could use. He then decided to vent his anger by exploiting my poor mum who did not notice the soup she was buying was part of a set meal, charging her the full meal price despite not informing her of her options when ordering, nor serving ANY mains or desserts with the soup whatsoever. The waitress (who called herself a manager) said "you did not ask for any courses apart from the soup" which is an incredibly petty dereliction of duty, and makes me doubt her qualifications to be a waitress in the first place. I'm very disappointed in this establishment; I expected better from the City of Cambridge.

Just superb. Great value, lots of menu choices and quality cooking. Knowledgeable and friendly service - what’s not to like? Just go!!

“I will write you a bad review” I said leaving “because I have never experienced a worse service in my life and I am going to share it with all my friends”. Wonderful. Thank you. Do it. - said the owner of the pub, looking at me triumphantly. His arrogance and his general attitude made me write this review. I was a bit late for a meeting with friends, when I arrived they have already ordered, mainly snacks from the bar. One of my friends mentioned “they only do set menu”, which did not tell me much as it was my first visit to the place. I tried to order at the bar but I was told: “table service” although nobody else was there ordering, so the barman could just take my order. I returned to the table and kept chatting to my friends. No waiting for the next 20 minutes but because I arrived late I felt guilty and didn’t complain. In the end a waitress arrives: what would you like? Is it possible to have a soup of the day on its own? I ask. Yes of course she answers politely. I am ordering it because I overheard someone behind me mentioning it. I am late and trying to get something quick to join in. By that time I haven’t been given any “Menu/Card”. My friends are getting their cheeps and crisps, we chat away. I ask the waitress if there is any alcohol free lager - she doesn’t know if their alcohol free beer is a lager and promises to find out but never returns with any answer. My soup arrives. It really IS a starter. There is about 6-10 spoonfuls of it. It is quite cold and not too impressive. I ignore all the negative impressions because it is my first time in this place and because I am having a wonderful time with my friends. In my head I am toying with an idea of another course or a pudding but the waitress never returns. My drink is gone, I would like to order another but I am chatting with my friends and there is no one to take any further orders, to ask how is our meal… The evening is ending and we ask for a bill. One global bill arrives, although we were not asked how we wanted to pay and we wanted to pay separately. Never mind, we are trying to work out who ordered what. My friends are tracing their cheeps and crisps and salads, 4 or 5 pounds per portion but I find out that my starter soup is 23 pounds! I have dined in several expensive places all over the world but I have never been charged £23 for a few spoons of lukewarm veggie soup. Of course I am demanding an explanation. Instead I am blamed and accused. During the next five minutes I receive several cognitive blows to my head: Blow number one: Apparently the only way I could have a soup I ordered was to have it as part of a SET MENU, which costs £23 for two courses and over £30 for 3. I am trying to reason with the waitress: why did you not inform me? I ask. She is obnoxious and aggressive: did you ask me how much it is? Did you investigate, you did not, you did not, you did not ask me! To sort the problem I am demanding to speak to the manager only to find out that the restaurant manager is actually the waitress herself. She seems to be finding pleasure in my distress and is less and less cooperative. By that time most of my friends settled their bills and are leaving. I am still demanding an explanation and refusing to pay £23 for a tiny soup. I receive no help or assistance from the rude waitress nor from the pub owner who suddenly presents himself as himself. He starts accusing my friends of not being good customers because we have spent too little. We haven’t eaten enough and have booked a table for 6 but arrived as a group of 8. Well, usually any pub owner would be pleased to get more guests, not this pub owner, who seems to dislike us. One of my friend settles the bill trying to cut the unpleasant situation but I am still arguing. Why was I not told I would have to pay £23 for soup of the day?, why was I not asked to order other courses? Why was I not offered a meal to take away if I had to pay for it in any case? Never in my life have I written such a long review but also never in my life have I received such a bad service! The owner of this place does not know the first thing about hospitality and I am warning every new customer: beware of him. Although to tell you all, he was not the worse, the worse was his lazy, hopeless, obnoxious, totally incompetent waitress!

I visited The Burleigh Arms today, and although I’m not usually a fan of Sunday roasts, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I love pork, and their pork belly was absolutely fantastic—soft, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every single item on the plate had its own wonderful taste that made the meal enjoyable from start to finish. To start, I had the spicy arancini, which was a perfect pairing with the beer selection. The flavors were bold and made for a great appetizer. To finish off, I had the lemon panna cotta with biscotti for dessert, and it was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal—light, tangy, and delicious. If you’re into Sunday roasts, I highly recommend this place, even if you’re not a regular fan, you might just be pleasantly surprised like I was!

I visited for lunch after hearing all the hype! Wow ! I wanted something spicy and the team recommended after a warm welcome the seafood laksa and chicken, beetroot tamale. First time exploring food of this caliber, it was mouth watering and absolutely delicious. The seafood laksa was flavorful and had the nice dressing in it. I’d definitely come back for more ! Found this whilst searching Trip Advisor for somewhere to have dinner when we were staying in a nearby hotel. So glad we came across it. It was so good we went the following night too. A really good welcome from attentive start, really tasty food and a great atmosphere. And yes we had to try the chocolate brownies and they lived up to all the hype - delicious!! Gave 4 out of 5 only because we felt it was a little bit on the pricey side for the portion sizes.

Fantastic sunday lunch today at the Burleigh arms. A warm welcome as we arrived and quickly seated at our table. The service throughout was excellent. We had a starter and main course and both were superb. We will be back to try the main menu very soon.

Well what can I say. We visited the Burleigh Arms for their ‘fellowship of flavours’ tasting menu and we weren’t disappointed. 5 courses of delicious food paired with a cocktail with each course. Baked Cheese onion and apple, smoked Bass tartare, spiced duck, lemon posset and finally a banana bread pudding with Kulfi. All the cocktails were Devine and really strong , very pleased to be getting a taxi home. All the staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Thank you to Tom, Chris and Kareem the chef. We will definitely be back for more. People give it a go!!!

A really nice restaurant with an interesting menu. The staff were great and the food excellent value. I went with my family and we had a lovely time. I would recommend supporting this place. It was nice to have a more creative menu than the usual pub fare.

We visit Cambridge 4 or 5 times a year, our favourite restaurant was Trinity, so disappointed when it closed: however we have found a replacement. This place is exceptional. We visited last Friday, service, atmosphere but most of all the food were outstanding, our new favourite.

The best Sunday Roast in the area! We’ve visited a couple of times by now and tried chicken, beef and pork options. The meat is always cooked and spiced so well, everything on the plate has its own distinct flavour and works so well together. Also, love the giant Yorkshire puds. The staff is so lovely, the pub is super cozy and I really recommend you try the IPA or the “Lodestar” if you’re visiting!

Great pub with immaculate vibes! Very reasonably priced for drinks and food. Food was banging, amazing comfort food with fantastic roasts on a Sunday with a wide variety of selection. Portion sizes are bang on and more than fair. Staff are very friendly and approachable especially the main man himself Joe. Lovely, friendly, talented guy is the king in the kitchen making the magic happen and is full of recommendations of sights to see and places to visit while in town. Would come back just to see him again. All in all, great place for amazing food and drinks.

Carl is a great quiz host! The negative review from November is completely untrue, I can personally vouch that the reviewer was the one creating the awkward atmosphere and disrupting the quiz. The staff here are always extremely friendly and it's a great place to visit.

Had a couple drinks here before we had a meal elsewhere. The young man on the bar was very friendly, welcoming, helpful and polite. However, as we were ordering a chef barged in and interrupted, he spoke to the barman in such a rude and appalling manner I was horrified. The chef did not apologise for interrupting, but the barman did apologise on his behalf. Not a display I would expect from a fully grown man, belittling and shaming the barman. Credit to the barman for keeping his cool and professional manner, as I would not have reacted the same.

The quiz master (with tattoos on his face) was very respectful towards women and nobody was humiliated. He is friendly and charismatic and did a great quiz. Lovely pub too, will defo come back!!!

Quiz night was an amazing experience! The show leader Carl gave an extraordinarily good presentation! One of the best event in Cambridge for sure!

We as family all had roasts, not very good. Roasties not crispy, Topside of beef very tough and gravy very average.For the price of roast was expecting more quality, this place used to do great roast dinners with delicious jus not bisto gravy.

The food was simply amazing, you’ll be hard pressed trying to find a better pub to eat in, in Cambridge! The 4 for £20 starters is an incredible offer and the Brewpoint beer selection is a treat too, I would definitely recommend everybody try a pint or 5 of the Checkpoint IPA!
