After looking through a small number of moderate reviews for Burgershack we thought we'd risk it and were glad we did! The burger, Mac'n'cheese, slaw and jalapeño poppers were fantastic, the service was friendly and prompt. Maybe slightly overpriced (welcome to London!) and I'd steer clear of the hot and blue chips (just too much sauce) but all in all, can't complain!

Suffers from being understaffed by aggressive staff who think it's funny to make jokes about kicking your food around the floor in the kitchen. Burgers were nice when I last visited a few months ago but the chilli burger on my last visit was tasteless, greasy and overcooked. Far too expensive.

I've visited Burgershack a few times during the year, and have mostly great experiences. The menu is varied, so it's always a hard choice. The winning burger for me is the Hubba Hubba, which I always order with 'just a little lettuce'. The meat mixed with mustard, and coupled with the cooking technique provide for an excellent burger, with a perfect brioche bun. The chips are good but not great, and sadly, onion rings are missing from the menu.

We went with a friend for dinner and were advised to order both burgers and hot dogs. We ended up going for the posh burger, a big apple hot dog and chilli cheese fries. Two out of three were exceptional. The burger was big, juicy and everything you ever wished for in a burger and the fries were hot, crispy and drenched in cheese and chilli. The hot dog however, was rather a disappointment. The staff was friendly and obliging and the music was old school reggae. We will definitely be going back, but not for the hot dogs!

I work nearby and have been here twice. Firstly, the positives, great friendly staff, good atmosphere, nice pub, now the food. Like I say I've been here twice, first time - loved it. I had the "Burgershack (the posh one)" and it was amazing, right up there with the best I have ever tasted. Second time I had the "Bacon Cheese stack" and to be honest it was rank. I actually couldn't finish it, it tasted so bad. Now I'm not sure if there is a difference between the patties in these two burgers, but on this second visit they just tasted "wrong". It's a shame, because it's really put me off going back as I just don't know which experience I'm going to get.

Replace the last three letters of shack with 'ite' and your pretty much there. Jeez I wanted this place to be good. Honest burgers are head and shoulders the best in London, far better than Meat Liqour, which is now just a brand. When are you going to release the branded t-shirts a la Hard rock cafe, guys? I remember them as the wagon selling burgers in Peckham, great days. Anyhoo, so give me the new Honest. This place had badges: the guy ran a burger site, he seemed to know his stuff. In short, he might be able to talk it, but when it comes to walking it; 8 pint legless. What's the positive? The bun didn't get soggy and suck up the meat juices. That's about it. Effort number one had clearly been left on the side for a while and was cold, not tepid, cold when it reached me. My mate had the posh one, his was warm, though you don't want to hear the colour of his language when it came to reviewing his burger. I had the dirty one. The dirty one went straight back. In fairness i asked the staff to reheat mine, they gave me a new one, and it was hot. The slaw was claggy, rank in fact. My mate and myself had one mouthful each, and that was it. And this guy reviews burger joints for a living?? The burger was just non descript, its never going to live in the memory vaults, put it that way. I'll refrain from my mates one word review on his burger. I remember this bikers burger joint in the 70's, in Guildford, called Bretts. It was a hole in comparison, but light years away from Burger Shack. A few years ago i went to the Burger joint in Le Meridian, in NYC, and remember being distinctly unimpressed. It laughs at Burger Shack from its pedestal. Jeez, even 5 guys, destroys this place. Such a shame, and i really wanted to like it, as its on my way home, and could have become a regular. The owner needs to eat there himself, I highly doubt his own review would be too complimentary.

Book the upstairs private room for a more intimate but no less awesome burger night. You can even request that the creator himself (Burgerac) come by and tell you the story. Excellent burgers, all carefully crafted and handmade starters. Just awesome.

I got really excited when I found out that a burger blogger who had presumably scoured London and tasted the best burgers had opened up in a pub with what was promised to be the ultimate! I will try to not be too mean, I want this to be creative criticism because I want this place to sort it's act out and become amazing! I guess that the fact I had such high expectations didn't help what the reality actually was! So I will start with the positives. The chips with beef and cheese were delicious!!! The best thing I ate there. The hot dog relish was really nice, but it was really cold and seemed like it just came straight out of the fridge, plus there was about a jars worth on there! And somewhere buried inside was this tiny little hot dog the size of my finger (I posted some pics of it and everything else). Then when the waitress told me the burger would be cooked medium rare as standard I thought, perfect, that is how I would have xmas led for it. I was disappointed when the three burgers we ordered were well done! (As in over cooked). I didn't complain because I'm not like that, prefer to write a review. The burger was ok, nothing special sadly. I nearly forgot, we had a special which was a fish burger and that was delicious though, the best burger on the table. Also the presentation of the burger is wrong, as you can see in the pictures the burger is in a basket that looks like it needs chips next to it, and talking of chips, they are nothing special just frozen macdonald type chips. So that was our experience sad really as this is not far for is to come compared to east london etc

First of all, thank you Google Maps. Trying to find one place helped me find Burger Shack. Now there are 2 burger places near my work. This one the same in that a Burger 'operator' has taken up residency inside a Pub. The Pub this time being the Royal Oak in Marleybone, London. I found it and then rushed over to try it. Quite a good choice on the menu, but as always i said, stick to the basics and i went with the cheeseburger with fries on the side. £8.50 for a burger is quite a bit really, so quality needed to be really high to justify! (That rhymes). Out came the burger and fries and 3 different sauces, Mayo, BBQ and Hot Sauce. A splashed a bit on the side. What i did next was wait. I just sat there and let the smell of the burger hit me. Usually i just dive in, but that bit of patience made the first bite even more enjoyable. The glazed bun immediately stood out. A nice shine to it and it was Strong! By strong i mean, once in my hands, didnt feel like it was going to fall apart. First bite in and the softness of the patty coupled with the twin flavours of ketchup & mustard ensured straight away that i will be back. The taste of the mustard and pickles soon followed and what i like most about the pickles was it brought back the sensation of home-made burgers. The fries were not too bad either. They had a good crunch and served in a very generous cup sized portion. With the different sauces on offer, i devoured every crumb served to me. Thanks alot BurgerShack & Royal Oak. I will be back!
