Burger in Edinburgh, City of

There's load of Gourmet Burger places open in Edinburgh rigth now. This place isn't the best of them but it's certainly up there. I'd choose this over 5 guys any day of the week.

Un burger simpa, ambiance bistrot à l'ancienne, de la bonne musique. Une carte pas trop grande mais diverse . J'ai pris le burger végétarien et il était délicieux ! Avec ca, des cheese frites excellentes et des frites de patate douce. Service relativement rapide. Personnel simpa.

Burger sympathique assez diversifié mais en gardant une carte simple. Ils étaient bons mais sans plus. Tarif un peu élevé mais bon on est à Édimbourg(35 livres à deux : deux burger + frites + une bière ) ... vous pouvez y aller sans craintes.

Had the Firecracker burger, which was very lovely, along with some sweet potato fries (my body is a temple) and a can of Innis & Gunn lager (v nice) all of which arrived quickly. Ideal place for a quick meal, cool music too..

Was here around 5pm on a Sunday afternoon and was a little concerned at how quiet the place was (I was the only person when I arrived, 2 more arrived whilst I was eating) but the service was prompt and the food was delicious and worth the price

Was a bit surprised when we Arrived at this place - a bit like a fast food joint. It was quite busy so a nice atmosphere. We placed our order with a very nice girl from Fife!), however unfortunately they had run out of onion rings and white wine - with a very small menu,I found it very surprising that they could run out of anything so not sure how long they will remain in business! We did have a very nice meal - Firecracker burger x3, Katsu burger x1 and a plain chicken burger with cheese for my daughter (although they put everything on it but quickly rectified). I have to say my daughter didn't eat all of it and I had a bit and the chicken was so succulent. Milk shakes were apparently lovely. Final verdict - would definitely recommend.

We had the fire cracker chicken burger and the Full stop double burger. Both were excellent and would defo recommend.

El lugar está limpio y fresco hecho en un estilo diner, el personal es amable y servicial. Fuimos porque de su nueva hamburguesa vegana, que es una hamburguesa de garbanzos y verduras estilo. La hamburguesa y hamburguesa estaban bien, pero las coberturas eran excelentes, kimchi, queso y mayonesa vegana. La primera vez que he tenido en un burger y kimchi, fue genial. No es hamburguesa con lados de 8 libras. 95 que es demasiado caro para mí para una comida a mediodía. Las patatas fritas eran geniales y, aunque los aros de cebolla eran bonitas es una muy pequeña porción y probablemente no conseguir de nuevo. Un zumo es cerca de 2 libras. Teníamos un vale itison que hizo un poco más barato, pero por lo demás puede ser caro y probablemente sólo volveremos con otro bono.

Estábamos un poco inseguros según nuestros comentarios (sobre el tamaño de las porciones y precios) pero decidimos darle una oportunidad como BURGER estábamos cerca y queríamos cenar.

We were there today with 4 people, the place itself is quite nice, the service was also good. For the burger we had different opinions, two of us would rate 3 Stars, the other two 4 Stars, therefore we would overall give 3,5 Stars.

Went here last night and had a really tasty burger. Chicken seasoned chips were great too. Big burgers with decent amount of toppings. Staff were all super friendly. Would recommend!!

We were in Edinburgh visiting from the states in May and were staying in Haymarket. This place was a couple blocks from our hotel and on our walk back from the Old Town we stopped in for dinner. They have a gluten free bun but the cheeseburger does have wheat in it. My wife ordered a veggie burger which was one of the best she had ever had.

We went here as a family of 4 on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately we were literally the only people in there which resulted in 0 atmosphere.

Based on the reviews on Tripadvisor, this place seemed an afforable OK place to eat. We had a (double-up) veggie and roquefort burger with fries and some drinks. The spend 50£ was definetely not worth the food served: no service at the table and no fresh ingredients. Roquefort was served as sauce and so was the hummus. Spicy peppers were not available as they forgot to get them from the freezer...

Easily the best burgers in town. Whenever I have a burger anywhere in the world I always compare it to one from here. Avoid the overpriced hipster burger places littered in Edinburgh and come here. That’s coming from a local.

Visitamos, ya que está cerca de trabajo tan buena ubicación para el almuerzo. Había una buena selección de hamburguesas en el menú. Fui por el smokeshow. Llegó rápidamente, pero aparte de tomar nuestra orden y la entrega de la comida no había interacción service solo del personal. Se sentía como un muy inpersonal cafetería. La hamburguesa era realmente agradable y una buena parte pero las patatas fritas eran horribles. La próxima vez que se ve a carnes Pan pan.

I love Burger! They have a great burger sauce, evee changing menu and amazing fries and milkshakes. I reccomend their instagram account for secret menu items. I really like the decor. I also find the price pretty reasonable compared to some other places. The restaurant has a really nice interior with neon lights and consistently good music playing! Friendlt staff too :)

We went here because we read that it was supposed to be really good and bearing in mind it was quite a distance for us to walk on a wet evening we were looking forward to a really great burger. The inside was ok, felt like a fast food place and the burger was average. Not cheap either, being nearly £30 for two of us with a glass of coke each!

Got take away from here. They were quite busy but the person behind the cash register was quite nice and apologized in advance that it may take a while for our food. Burgers and fries were both totally good--nothing amazing--but hit the spot.

I don’t know why this place isn’t 5 stars based on my meal. Service was perfect, food was plentiful and beautiful. The 2nd best burger I have ever had and I am all about the burgers. Everything you could possibly want if you are looking for a top Burger. I had a double cheese and bacon burger with chilli cheese fries and a can of Brewdog beer. All of which was beautiful. Only complaint would have been that I struggled to finish it all! My mouth is watering as I write this.

Quick bite to eat 6pm Friday . Served quickly , not a long wait for food. Staff helpful and cheery. Food reasonably good. Happy to go back again

I come here regularly with my parents when they visit me in Edinburgh. The service is always friendly and relaxed, and the staff are happy to have a wee chat. I have coeliac disease so the accommodation for gluten-free here is fantastic - it's brilliant to have a burger on a bun, and the gf buns here are very good, which isn't always the case. Amazingly tasty burgers, great fries, the milkshakes are also fantastic but I rarely have room left for one! One of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh.

Visited here last night as we had passed by a few times and the smell of food was very appetizing. Great service, excellent food and the sorbet was the icing on the cake. Sorry we didn't visit earlier. Would definitely return.

A deux pas du centre-ville, ce restaurant à l’ambiance sympa et moderne vous propose, comme son nom l’indique une multitude de burgers, plats frits et autre nourriture que la morale (en tout cas la ligne) réprouve. Certes, ça n’est pas une nourriture Ecossaise traditionnelle, mais les plats sont faits avec des produit locaux.C’est bien préparé, très copieux est très bon. En plus, les tarifs ne sont pas si répulsifs que ça. Le service est rapide et agréable.Si vous voulez vous faire un petit plaisir coupable, c’est ici qu’il faut aller.

We visited Burger in Fountainbridge last weekend for lunch and had a nice time. We both had the Bacon Cheese burgers and these were pretty tasty. Fries were good too. It's a pretty casual spot and the service was friendly and quick which was what we were after. Overall a good burger place for the money.

Ci siamo fermati per caso in questo locale e devo dire che non ce ne siamo pentiti.. la ragazza che serviva è stata molto gentile e i panini che abbiamo ordinato erano veramente molto buoni.. per non parlare poi delle patatine croccanti con salsa di formaggio.. ottimo e consigliatissimo se siete da quelle parti

Last time I went to this place it was a lot better. That's why I returned, however that will be the last. The chicken burger is definitely the thing to avoid. I wasn't even sure it was chicken! The chicken had been minced and made up into a patty then deep fried, really very little flavour. There was also no hint of the katsu flavours. The veg burger my friend had was much better, but if you can't do the meat right in a predominantly meat restaurant there's no hope.

The food here is really tasty - realatively simple but done really really well. The booze milkshakes are incredible too! The chips are fastid (I tried three different ones - the cheesy ones are particularly amazing). We also shared some salt and pepper chicken wings which were incredible. The staff were super friendly and funny and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.

We went to Burger for date night, it was reasonably busy considering it was a Monday night. It's table service, I prefer counter service with buzzers to collect but that's just a personal preference and didn't impact on our experience. Service was speedy and friendly. We ordered two veggie burgers, one with cheese and one with cheese and veggie bacon, a novelty to be able to add to burgers! We also had two sides one veggie chilli fries and one order of frickle my pickle, tempura battered pickles which were delicious! Burgers were very good, knocking on the the door of great, very often veggie burgers are over fried and dry but not these, you could tell they were made in house and they were moist and very flavourful. Liked that they had Edinburgh roots sodas on the menu, they were however out of stock, would be good to enjoy these with the meal.Overall a very good experience and I would go as far as to say it's the best veggie burger available in Edinburgh. We will be back.

The restaurant accomodated a last minute booking for a 13 years old birthday party of 12 girls. Kane was so polite, friendly and professional, even running out to the local tesco to buy matches to light the candles on the cake, Girls loved the burgers and sides and were keen to drink tap water which was happily supplied. Overall a great experience, well done!

We have been here a number of times and always enjoy the food. The vegetarian option is very nice and the range of sides is varied. We love the alcoholic milkshake cocktails, a meal in itself and sooo good! The food is served all wrapped up like fast food on a metal tray, it's very cute presentation. I would recommend Burger for a tasty meal and a better than average burger.

Visited this place last week and for £17 I got a burger with 2 patties of some unidentifiable meat that bore no resemblance to chicken whatsoever and tasted very odd, a bag of overcooked greasy fries that were practically inedible and a cold beer (at least that was alright!). All in all a very disappointing and annoying experience. You'd get better quality food at McDonald's or Burger King at a fraction of the price. Not somewhere I could recommend or would want to visit again to be honest.

We stopped off here on the way to the cinema at fountain park as the Nando's was being refurbed,The service was good but the food was average -The only place I could compare it to is five guys - however five guys is much better and you get a lot more for your money.Burger is ok for quick food if your in the area but ive heard better reviews for BRGR or Byron so will prob try one of these next time - sadly Rascals & Burger meats Bun are no more - they were up with with best in Edinburgh

Very yummy burgers. Good selection of toppings and side dishes. Quality gf options. Decor is a bit dull considering it is already in a dull bit of the street but I can forgive that because the burgers are seriously yummy!

Had a visit here in November (pre rugby lunch) the food was served quickly and was perfectly edible, shame that pretty much everything was an extra, as a result 2 burgers, 2 milkshakes and a side of fries was £25, can get better and cheaper back home.... I may well look for somewhere else another time!

Between the three of us, we got a burger, chicken katsu burger, veggie burger, mac and cheese, wings and chips. The veggie burger was slightly over done but alright. The burger was fine, the definition of standard. The chicken katsu was apparently good but lacked adventure. The chips were a disappointment as they came unsalted/unseasoned. The chicken wings were fine. My real issue was the mac and cheese, 5.50 and it could not have been more dull. With such a limited menu you would think that everything on it would be done with some love, in this case we watched the waitress make our meal. Not to say that she doesn't love food, or her job but I thought that was what the chef was getting paid for. Atmosphere in this place is horrible, empty and awkward, and as other people have mentioned, you eat directly off of a metal tray.

Popped in for a quick lunch one day and had a bowl of Chilli Cheese Fries. A good lunch for a good price.Returned a second time as part of the Lupe Pintos Tollcross Chilli Cookoff and it was oustanding. As one of about 12 restaurants competing in the chilli cookoff they had to up their game but they did. They really, really did. A deep, rich chilli using several cuts of cheaper but more flavourful meats and inventive guac and salsas on the side, this chef knows his stuff !Try it for lunch or dinner but trust me and try it out at the next cookoff !

Hmmm sehr lecker, Ich habe einfach mal Burger abgeholt um diese dann im Hotelzimmer zu essen. Sehr lecker. Wir hatten denn Bacon Cheese und den Cheese Burger. Beide als Double. Mann muss sagen, dass single auch gereicht hätte. Gute Portion und auch gut gewürzt. Einfach köstlich. Als Beilage hatten wir noch die Cheesefries und Wings. Alles wurde gut eingepackt und war im auch noch heiß. Personal sehr gründlich und freundlich.

Lots of other eating places in the area so unless the pricing is reviewed would not revisit.

My partner and I ate here last night. We were visiting Edinburgh for the evening and did some quick online searches as we really fancied a good burger. Burger has a bit of a mixed identity. It has a fast food type seating arrangement but with waitress service, you eat off the tray, there's the ability to take away, but with restaurant prices. The burgers we had were decent but the fries were average. Considering we had to fork out almost £30 for two burgers, two portions of fries, a coke and a milkshake then we felt a little robbed. The cost just didn't equal the experience so ultimately we were disappointed.

I discovered this place during the local Tollcross Chiili cook off. The chilli offered in this establishment was excellent and it convinced me to come and try the other food options. The Burger burger with chilli and so many other things on it was big and juicy and delicious.This part of town doesn't have much of a vibe and it could do with a bit of regeneration and this place can only help. The staff were friendly and helpful and although they didn't get everything quite right we were happy with the attention we got from them. The place has been decorated in a very industrial way which I found a little dull especially as the area isn't particularly bright. It was however clean, had it's own style and more importantly the burgers are good, the fries were perfect and the slaw was yummy!

American diner type of burger place. Cheap and varied selection on offer and the burger I had tasted absolutely amazing. However I had a very upset stomach after so for that reason I don't have fond memories of it. Would be a 4 star if hadn't had stomach problems after.

Live near here and went in with high hopes of a good burger. Ordered and waited. They brought 2 burgers they didn't seem sure were ours, let us check and touch them and then took them to the table they belonged to without much apology. 5 minutes later we are told our order was lost and we've moved to the bottom of the pile and we have to wait about 30 minutes. Meanwhile deliveroo are coming and going - at least 10 times - with food to go. We asked for a refund as we were leaving and the manager then asks us at the till why we are leaving because our food will be right out - we told her we'd just been told 30 minutes. Absolute disgraceful customer service and attitude. Real shame as we live local and could have been easy return customers. Food that originally came to us was cold and the kitchen looked dirty. Do not eat here and give such a terrible business your money.

I have been here a few times now and every time I take a new set of friends of family with me because I want to be the one to introduce them to the place. I usually get the Chicken Katsu burger with cheesy fries and a vanilla milkshake, This fills me up entirely.The food is delicious, the burger has a great blend of flavours and the cheesy fries feel like their homemade, you don't feel like the staff has cut you short since I know some restaurants give you less than a handful of a serving. I definitely recommend trying the milkshakes, it's a lovely way to top off the meal. The staff are friendly and are always there to offer help in any way they can. They also allow you to pick and choose ingredients on burgers e.g if there is a burger with every ingredient on it that you want except one, they are happy to remove that from the burger, which I thought was pretty nice. The place is nice and clean and never really too busy. I will add that for any Muslim friends that the chicken is certified halal, so you can enjoy it to the fullest!I will be going there more in the future as I tend to eat there then catch a movie with friends 5 minutes down the road at fountain park, I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I was delighted to find that Burger offer the option of serving their burgers on a tasty gluten free bun - a great find for a tourist coeliac! My meal of a burger and chips was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Food was great, burger was delicious. The chips were lovely especially with the cheese. 2 young girls serving one was lovely and polite however, the other one was rude and seemed to not want to be there. Also there were tiny flies everywhere which was off putting and not something we wanted to see when enjoying ur meals.... still ate it though. Overall ok, food made the trip.

This was possibly the worst food iv ever had in my life, i got a double chicken burger with cheese fries, the burger was deffinatly not chicken and i couldnt even finish it as got a bad pain in my stomach and went straight to the toilet, will not be back, nice staff though ☺

I have been here several times and as I need gluten free food choices I love that Burger has really tasty GF buns. In so many places you just get GF bread or ordinary rolls which is fine but not as tasty as the GF brioche type buns they serve here. Service is always friendly.

Trip was spoilt by middle class parent letting their kid run around screaming which didn't help. We should have walked out then. The burger was ok. It was a bit greasy but tasted fine. Service was ok but it looks like a take away place. They should give up with the service and charge less. Not impressed sorry.

I was a little apprehensive at first when visiting Burger, as it was not clear whether to just take a seat or to order at the front desk. Upon asking a few people, we sat down and were seen to almost immediately. The food was very good and arrived swiftly. This was great, especially after a day of travelling. The portions were hearty and the food felt very fresh. The vanilla milkshake was rich and creamy. The girl serving us was also very helpful with our questions about the local area. If you need a quick, treat style meal, this is the place to come.

Les burgers sont vraiment bons. Je m'attendais plus à une version fast food mais là vraiment, ils ont du gout et les aliments utilisés sont vraiment bons. Les oignons rings sont également délicieux, croustillants et gouteux. A tester!

Had a take away Veggie burger and chips, chips we're stone cold and rock hard, burger was okay, nothing special. Restaurant smells strongly of deep fat fryers which is usually a sign of fat they don't change that often or filters that don't get cleaned. Wouldn't go back.

I really like this place. It's got a nice feel, pleasant staff, and reasonable prices in consideration of the tasty burgers. Portions are definitely a good size and not too far from Haymarket station or the STV TV studios.

So cheap. So tasty! Would definitely return. It's like a canteen, but booking is recommended. You get everything on a tray, no frills, but really good value for money. Staff were friendly, if not the most proactive. But a must if you like GBK or Bryon. This is 100 times better.

After arriving in Edinburgh mid afternoon on a Saturday in early June, we saw this place a short walk from the flat we had rented. (It's the location on Shandwick Pl.). We just wanted to get something to eat and this filled the bill. A very good cheeseburger and likewise a Mac & Cheese, and a Greek salad to share. Some beer and cider to wash it down, and they had two very content Canucks. It's as good as any I've had and better than most.

We popped in here on a Saturday afternoon - it was a rugby day so they had some odd serving procedure and no-one seemed to know what was going on... was it table service or not??Anyhoo the burger and the sweet potato fries were excellent and the boozy shake was delicious.The only reason im not giving it the full 5 was service was all over the place - BUT it was obviously a new system they were trying out for rugby days

I was looking for a nice burger to eat in Edinburgh and came upon this place. I was with my wife and we were offered a special deal. We had a bottle of wine, a very nice male I had a double bacon cheese burger and my wife a cheese burger, it came with chips we ordered Chipotle coleslaw and some onion rings. They were trialling a new spicy burger sauce which they asked us to try. The burgers themselves were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, my bacon was crispy the bun was soft and slightly sweet which compimented the saltiness of the burger. The chips are twice cooked and still have the skin on which I like the onion rings were crispy and the slaw was delicious with a hint of smokiness and chilli heat. Our bill was a very reasonable £32.00 considering what we had. The young man who served us was chatty and very pleasant I only wish I'd asked his name so I could mention him. I was informed that they are going to open a branch in Newcastle upon Tyne if they do we'll be there, I recommend the place.

Visited over lunchtime. Service was very good however food was rather average. I had the chilli dog and cheese fries. Large portion and reasonably priced.

We were in Edinburgh, just for the day, and hadn't a clue what food was in the area. We fancied a burger, typed that into google and thought this place seemed nice so we mapped it and went.Got there and the staff were super friendly, letting us take any table we liked.We got drinks which we a lot cheaper than normal places, so we could get 2 without feeling guilty and ordering water to save money.We ordered food and safe to say our eyes were bigger than our bellies!But dear god it was amazing!Such tender beef, cooked to perfection in the burgers and the chilli beef cheese fries.They were absolutely the nicest burgers we have ever had in our life, and we love burgers! Honestly, if you go to Edinburgh and don't give this place a try you're missing out!

We went hoping for good burgers and they delivered! Really nice bun with great meat inside covered in tasty sauce. We dubbed the aesthetic as 'functional hipster' as everything was quite dinky but not ridiculously so. Our meals arrived on little worn tin trays which we thought was quite sweet. My friend ordered the veggie burger which apparently was much better than expected, and looked a lot like meat (whether this is a perk or not depends on the person I guess.) I also really liked the milkshakes. Without thinking I ordered a vanilla milkshake with oreos and raspberries, which tasted amazing but required a bit of concentration. The staff were also really friendly.Overall it was a lot nicer than anticipated and I will definitely come back with my family in the near future.

Came here for dinner with my boyfriend. I ordered the hausdog with cheesy fries and my boyfriend ordered the double blues burger with fries too. The portions were quite big and good value for money. Everything was just so delicious and was obviously made from high quality ingredients. Possibly the best hot dog and cheesy fries I've ever had!The staff were lovely and cheerful too, we were v satisfied with the service. Have to add that our meal with drinks came to £28 so this isn't an alternative to McDonald's, but rather a great trendy place for a hearty burger/hotdog. Would 100% recommend!

Finally a good burger in Edinburgh!! I was actually happy whilst eating it haha. The vanilla milkshake was good too! Definitely be back!!

Stopped here for dinner in May. We were looking forward to fried pickles as per the menu. We were disappointed to find out they were out. Had the bacon cheeseburger and the classic burger. Both were decent but nothing to write home about. Lots of other options in Edinburgh.

Had a lunch here on a Saturday afternoon and had a chilli dog, good service with a smile, food showed up quite quick and was tasty, the cheese fries had a tad too much cheese though, not really a complaint but if it had been slightly less it would have been perfect. Dogs are lovely as was the coffee, and my wife said the vanilla shake with peanut butter was amazing, worth it.

Good food, reasonably priced and fairly quick service, not much else to say really, as burger bars go it's ok, as I have a flat nearby I call in occasionally for a quick meal and have not been disappointed thus far,

I had a bacon cheeseburger with added onion. The burger was tasty but nothing exceptional, and the service was okay. The Fountainbridge location was not busy at all around 7:30pm so I found the atmosphere to be kind of lacking; however thankfully the prices were very reasonable!
