Only went in for a quick drink and chicken strips at the end of a Saturday. All the free tables were covered with previous rubbish and left over food with no attempt by staff to clear it. Would not visit again.

How does a major chain like BK in a busy city centre run out of soft drinks?? The choice I was given was water or hot chocolate and the hot chocolate machine had just broken down. Why was I not offered any discount due to not getting the whole meal, and when I try to just order the burger and chips separately it's then more expensive? The manager and owners need to wake up and smell the coffee, if you can't provide the customer with the items on your menu then at least drop the price accordingly and perhaps a small apology next time, don't just expect people to pay the same money and not get negative reviews

Took my son for a meal before a Exeter City match…..this has to be, the worst place I have ever eaten in! There are no words for how bad this Burger King Restaurant is! The restaurant was absolutely filthy, rubbish and food waste scattered on the floor and tables, bins overflowing and not emptied. Me and my son had to clean and wipe down a table ourselves. Witnessed staff unhygienicly handling my food prior to serving and was warm at best when served. No drinks available at all…..staff offered me TAP WATER as my main meal drink! Staff member also charged me for this!!! Staff attitude was rude and abrupt. Witnessed a number of staff standing around and not doing anything…. Cleaning and tidying would have been a start?! Safe to say I will not be visiting this place ever again!!!

Diabolical place. Staff very slow and not the most polite. Most of the tables either had food still on them or were filthy. Toilets disgusting, plus no soap. Not a place we will be returning to!

Brian is a very rude man as confirmed by his colleagues that work under him. He does not possess the people skills or intelligence to provide good customer service. The only way I can see this man being promoted to his current position of assistant manager is through years of loyal service as it is definitely not through hard work or talent. Huge disappointment.

Visited this Burger King yesterday afternoon, very poor customer service. People were waiting over 20 minutes to order. Let alone waiting another 30 minutes to get your food. It was dirty, no clean tables and to top it off gave me food poisoning. DO NOT EAT HERE !

Only wanted a Coke Zero but even this proved too complicated for the manager. Had to wait for him to stop chatting to his friend before I could order. Watched him proceed to pour a regular coke and when he handed it to me I reminded him I had ordered a Coke Zero at which point he suggested I had actually ordered a regular coke. I then repeated my order for a fourth time at which point the chap decided he didn’t like my attitude. I’m not sure what it takes to order a drink these days or why it proved so complicated but it is little wonder the company is in trouble with people like this at the helm. Bottom line is they’ve just lost another customer.

Totally messed up our order, tried to charge us twice, then because of the mess up they actually forgot to do the order...when we eventually got it, it wasn't very good

Let’s get this said… Burger King is a FAST food place… the food was anything but fast at Burger King on High Street Exeter. It was a Saturday night, it actually wasn’t even that busy in this BK, we’ve seen other ones much busier and the staff handling it all very well. Most if not all of the tables had peoples leftovers and rubbish left on them. The staff didn’t seem to have any communication going on. The bins were all overflowing. It was overall very unclean and looked like a bomb had gone off in a bin. In fact it’s probably fair to say if we had not have already ordered we would have probably walked out of there. It took a good 30 minutes for us to get two basic meals, I had the Dorito King Box and my wife had a Chicken Royale meal. The burgers and fries were warm at best, the chicken fries in my Dorito box were pretty cold and had no flavour. Let’s just finish this with I highly recommend you do not eat here as you can taste the depression in the food!

1 - What's wrong with this franchise? Does Burger king do any inspection to this place? Is not following burger king guide lines on nothing that I'm 100% sure. It's shocking. Burger king should be ashamed to have this shop open. Dirty, unprofessional, never have I seen anything like this. They even put their own music "hard techno or house" from their phones in kitchen.

Place was filthy. Mud and food gunk puddles on floor. Greasy tables and all windows open so was Baltic. Staff were ridiculously young and had no idea what they were doing. Shouting and swearing at eachother calling eachother all the names under the Sun . Turned off radio and were playing, in my opinion, inappropriate songs with swear words with kids in the establishment?!? THE WORST BIT….food hygiene. People picking their noise while preparing food. A lad scratched his psoriasis ridden skin and then packaging up the food. Put me off and I left not eating my food. Probably more hygienic to eat straight out the bin

I went into today hoping to have a meal. I love bk and have always been satisfied with it all. However today it was far from good. The tables hadn't been cleared and when I cleared mind I found the bins were over flowing and there was no.placr to put my stuff. The place was cold as there wasn't many people in there The staff were young and there wasn't many of them. About 3 I counted. They looked tired and had obviously been busy by the flips in the box next to the till. I was waiting for a friend who was late so I held back pondering leaving and going to Mac's. In the end that's what I did.. In mac's the tables were clean . There was a lot of staff. The place was warm and the food was good. And it was busy. I felt sad though because I would hate to see BK leave the high street. It definitely needs to make some changes though to compete with Mac's service and atmosphere. 😥

This is the worst experience at a restaurant they don’t even deserve 1 start I went to the toilet and the toilets are disgusting and vile me and my daughter went in there and they looked like they have never been cleaned and there meant to have a sign to show when they last cleaned the toilets which looks like never it’s vile and there was no toilet roll and I told a member of staff that there wall no toilet roll and he gave me a blue paper roll that was thick that would clog the toilets and complained to the manager and we was waiting for 10 minutes for toilet roll and ended up leaving this is outrageous I will never be returning the toilets are vile looks like they have never seen bleach in there life and it’s whole restaurant was so dirty it smells so bad especially in the toilet this shows a reflection on the restaurant and it’s not a good one I’ll have you know quite frankly I’ll be chasing up with head office

this place could not be a worse place to dine. The staff dont give a toss about allergies or speed. A snail could work faster than they do. Asked for a bbq sauce and a lady responded saying she didn't know if they had them, you should know your stock! No friendly faces or kind welcome, all staff look and act miserable. For a practically empty restaurant, my food should not have taken 20 minutes to arrive at my table. Burger king, please for the love of god - up your standards!!

The atmosphere is very strange in Burgerking Exeter high street. It's almost like being in a library. No music and everyone whispering to each other. Service was great amd the food as always is great.

Should have checked reviews beforehand really but as it a franchise you expect a certain level of quality from them all. Place was messy, not like "we've been rushed off our feet" messy just no clearing up. Overheard the manager ask a young lad to go clean, he refused then swept under 1 table and went back leaving all the rubbish on the table (still there 40 minutes later as I write this) and walked past 3 other abandoned tables with rubbish on. Service is abysmal, more staff than tables of people but you stand at the counter and they all continue to chat and ignore you. BK is my usual fast food restaurant and I have to say this is the worst one I have been in. EDIT: Just used their toilets and they don't look or smell like they have been cleaned this year. Might need to contact Environmental Health because they're disgusting! Floor is stickier than a nightclub, the smell is worse than outdoor public toilets, there doesn't seem to be any cleanliness in this place

We ordered 3 hot chocolates, but they were little more than hot skimmed milk. They had no taste whatsoever, and the colour was not that of chocolate at all but just milk. It is also understaffed, so there is a long wait to order and a long wait for the food. We also ordered larges and received mediums.

Disinterested staff. Paid for 9 nuggets, received 6. Returned to request 3 more nuggets and was asked for evidence I had ordered 9. The process felt accusations and displayed very poor customer service. Fortunately I had the receipt and showed the server, who had been told to ask by manager.

Staff were completely checked out when I went there, they gave me the wrong order despite nobody else waiting for food - what's worse is I ordered a vegan burger and they gave me a meat one. Awkward atmosphere meant I was reluctant to go back when I realized (they had already seemed quite unhappy about having to replace my drink after giving me the wrong one..)

I used to go all the time. I love that I can find so many yummy vegan options at uk burger kings but both locations in Exeter are lack lustre and find myself having to go all the way to Plymouth for decent service. Very rundown high street location which Burger King has plenty of money to remodel. Self service kiosks would be a more modern way of ordering the food you want. Filthy place. Atrociously understaffed. Feel bad for the young guys who work in there. Rude managers. And the whole place needs to be retained as they get orders wrong and that is a huge problem for someone with dietary requirements. As a vegan I can’t just be handed meat. It’s different from a meat eater just receiving the wrong burger type. I literally don’t go in there anymore so I do indeed think bk is losing money because that’s a customer that you would otherwise be receiving profit from on a regular basis as I mentioned before I really love your vegan options (very tasty.)

Surprised at how dirty the place was, only one person on the tills, (only two tills operational, it looked like the others were taken out as gaping holes in countertop) bins overflowing, tables dirty with food and leftovers, there was no area to get condiments, obviously short staffed! On a positive note the food was hot!

The Smoky Chimichurri Beef & Chicken Burger was tasty. The toilet stinks and hope they improve their cleanliness.

I have rated two stars as the food was lovely. Unfortunately the restaurant its self is very neglected and the staff seem to not have much care in regards to there duties. Very slow staff, it’s a really really relaxed vibe with no rush. There was approximately 10 people waiting to order and only one on the till one cooking and one serving an that’s all the staff available, because of this they lack duties in the restaurant it’s self. The tables are dirty and food on the floor, toilets are filthy with graffiti. Nothing is being disinfected or wiped down and the floors are very dirty. So for this I only have two stars

We ordered from here and our order got stolen and when we got our order remade they got it wrong and didn’t include a meal and the onion rings we ordered just chips obviously it upset the person who wanted that food because they where looking forward to eating the meal. I know it’s not your fault the order being stolen but please can you make a system or something to fix this? We did never got a refund or got the missing items it took 2 hours to get our food we where hungry and our stomachs where rumbling. Utterly not impressed on the service and if you want your meal stolen don’t go here!

All tables were still covered in stuff from previous customers, and dropped food under the table had to result in cleaning the table myself as no one seemed to be bothered to clean.

Quick and efficient service even when order burgers with extras in some and others without standard items like tomatoes.

We had a chicken bap meal very nice for fast food, far better than mac Donald chicken bap, Oh we found if you turn up between breakfast and brunch charge over they tell you that the system will take 60 seconds for it to change over ( well we waited for at least 5 minutes),

I always enjoy visiting this outlet.Every time the service is excellent. It can get very busy at peak times but I have generally only had to wait 5 mins after reaching the service counter. The food has always been hot and served with a smile. I have observed that the premises have been understaffed at times. But Brian’duty manager was always very polite when dealing with customers and staff alike despite being under pressure.I hope the senior management recognise what an asset he is to the company. 5 stars to Brian and his team.

Never given a poor review before but felt compelled to so others know to avoid, I've never been to a more filthy establishment than this burger King, the tables are filthy, as others pointed out theres food littering the floor on a quiet day, young lads coming in who are clearly friends with the staff playing around over the counter with staff, messing with the screens, sneaking them nuggets on the sly Just a bit of a strange place to be and a massive s***hole, go anywhere else

Staff not overly polite. Restaurant untidy, rubbish/food on floors, dirty tables. No straws given or even told where there were. Food was tiny for the huge price, wasn't that tasty or hot either. Won't be back.

Not been to BK for a while, so colour me surprised at almost a fiver for a single bacon cheeseburger - no fries or drink. I had finished it in three minutes, which equates to around £100/hour. I could have bought about seven Freddos for that (maybe 8, I dunno, those things have rocketed in price).

I recently visited Burger King and had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I ordered the Whopper and it was absolutely fantastic. The beef patty was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings added just the right amount of crunch and sweetness to the burger. The fries were also delicious, perfectly crispy and seasoned. What really stood out to me was the excellent customer service. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they made sure that my order was prepared quickly and accurately. Overall, I had a great time at Burger King and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and satisfying meal. The food is consistently good, the menu is diverse, and the prices are reasonable. Plus, the excellent customer service made my experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

I came in for lunch yesterday , my order was taken very quickly and and staff was very polite and moved with a sense of urgency . They asked if I needed anything and extra like sauces and brought me my food very quickly and it was very hot. It was also very clean and tidy

Not the best experience. Counter staff were polite, but the kitchen team seemed preoccupied. Burger was cold. Atmosphere has also left BK these days. And also the veggie options are cooked on the same equipment as meat ones! Incase anyone has a friend like me with severe intolerance.

Absolutely the worst meal and service I've ever received at a Burger King venue...it was terrible to the point that I cannot express strongly enough how bad it was !!

Very slow service. Waited over 15 minutes along with another customer. Both our orders seemed to have been overlooked. Hard to hear staff calling out what orders are ready, partly due to background noise. Member of staff I spoke to first couldn't hear me and second time, wasn't particularly helpful. Made me wonder why I bothered going in.

The most rude manager ever. My friend and I went there to get some food around 8pm on a Wednesday evening. We were desperate for the toilet so went to go upstairs to find a seat and use toilet first and we were shouted at by the manger to leave immediately. We were confused and asked if we could order our food and he refused us for no reason. He then threatened to call the police on us for asking for food. The poor employees were just as confused as one of them told me there was a Mac Donald’s down the. So disappointed.

Asked if the chips were gluten free, as I knew nothing else would be, was pointed to the allergens board. So blooming small you can barely read it, the lady behind the till came out to help me, its under vegan French fries. Not gluten free as the cook the vegan stuff in with the chips. But hey as long as the vegans are happy huh. By this point the queue behind me was growing and they looked displeased at me holding up proceedings. So didn't have anything for me and I sat there watching my partner eating his burger whilst I had nothing.

I really enjoy eating at Burger King but most of the time I go there is always something to disappoint me. I am allergic to onions, and every time I ask for the onions to be removed they never do. I also think that a store located on high street should have a self-service totem, it seems silly but every time I place my order at the counter the attendant marks an item wrong. I understand when it happens every now and then but every time it's really draining. And I'm sure that the totem can help the employees mainly because the place is very busy.

Ordered a single bacon king meal for delivery. On receipt, there was a distinct lack of chips, an absolute insult and a joke. Especially as the bill came to just shy of £10!

Had a bacon double cheeseburger. They've shrunk, only about the size of the palm of my hand, and not a scrap of salad. Onion rings soft, but the fries were hot and crispy.

Only came here because I needed food or I have would have passed out and McDonald's was packed, now I know why because I've never been somewhere so disgusting and poorly run. The entire restaurant was covered in messy tables with only one staff member on the floor, it was a rainy day but no one was mopping the floor, rubbish bags piled up near the bins which were also full. I ordered one of their double melt box meals which was tiny! Especially considering I can get a large Big Mac meal for less than 10p more. I'm amazed that we're almost in 2023 and you have to go up to the counter to order and wait for your order to be called but when the music is so loud and staff are so quiet it is difficult to hear your order. My meal was meant to come with regular fries, even a McDonald's small portion was bigger than the portion I got, my drink had no lid which for someone with a very bad tremor I'm lucky there was a clear table near the counter. The food itself was barely edible and if I wasn't in urgent need of food I wouldn't have finished it. Next time I'm going to stick with McDonald's, at least I'll get my moneys worth and won't nearly slip and I definitely do not recommend this place.

Just popped for a quick bite had double cheese burger with bacon which was definitely not value for money ,so small! The upstairs eating area was filthy with cobwebs and dirty windows ! Will definitely definitely never go in there again makes you wonder what the rest of the place is like!!

Service was awful, no organisation, no control, no speed, and nobody cared. More interested in making sure the deliveroo guy was taken care of before the shopfull of customers, only had hot drinks available at the time which ended up cold.
