Burger Box Selly Oak in Birmingham

Terrible service, they didn't bother to listen to me, served me my burger with wrong sauces, couldn't even eat it. Tried ringing no one could help me. DONT NO ORDER

It was a Friday evening, I'd been at a conference all day and was feeling knackered; there was no way I was cooking dinner tonight. I was craving some comfort food after the cold sandwiches and cakes I'd eaten during the day. I planned to get some pub grub, but to my horror there was a cricket match happening in Edgbaston. As expected, the pub was packed with middle aged men and their dogs. Disappointed, I moved on to the local Indian. Again, it was full of cricketers. My last refuge, the only remaining restaurant on the street, was burger box. In the past, it had been a reliable, cheap and friendly burger place, but not today. I walked in to discover the usual guy wasn't there, instead there stood two people I'd never seen before. Me and my friends tried to place our orders, but I'm not sure the two attendees really comprehended what we asked for. At no point in the night did they ever respond to anything we said, it was as like talking to the McDonald's self checkout. They turned around, and proceeded to stare at the fridge looking confused, while studying the menu as if it was an instruction manual. 15 minutes later, and the guys had made what they thought our order was. They tried to pass the order through the till, but couldn't seem to figure any of it out. To our surprise, they both left the shop leaving it and our food completely unattended. A few minutes later, they returned to the shop with another person who tried to explain the workings of the till to them. After what looked like a maths teacher struggling with a bottom set class, they tried to charge us for our order. Unfortunately, they had not only got the order wrong but half of it was missing. We tried to explain this, without much luck. However, he did return to the kitchen to do something, exactly what he did we're not sure but 15 mins later he did return with another item, a burger which I did not order. Again, we tried to explain this but it was futile. By this point, we really should have gotten the message and left with our dignity still somewhat intact; but again we waited 15 minutes. This time, he just never came back out of the kitchen. I was at the end of my fuse by this point so we upped and left with the food they had managed to cobble together. I genuinely believe the springer spaniel we saw in the pub earlier would have had more success taking our orders. In the end, I got a burger king via UberEats. So, thanks burger box, you managed to turn a bad evening into a confusing, frustrating but funny evening. To conclude, if you walk into burger box and are greeted by a single man who calls you "Brother", you're in for a good meal! But if you're greeted by this group of gentlemen I met tonight, turn around and run, run anywhere else, get your food from anywhere but here, unless you're looking for a good story.

The food was ok the burgers were a bit dry and the chips bland , wings were good though

The reviews read great, thus I ordered from here. I placed the order at 9.30pm.. the food came at 11.15 ish. They kept changing the the delivery time. The burgers were all cold and the fries were solid stiff (due to cold). Very disappointing, as the food had potential to be ok if it came normal food temperature.

I was served by sahil. He gave me Impeccable customer service and I was astonished by the quality of the food. I will definitely recommend this restaurant as they are very versatile in terms of what they can offer. Will be definitely come here again.

My order didn't arrive! I have ordered on a few occasions from here foods been nice... you don't always get what you have ordered mind. I never revived some chicken strips last time I placed an order I have them the benefit of the doubt! Ordered again tonight and haven't even received my order and there not answering the phone! Disgusting customer service.

My burger (El Supremo) was dry, very under-seasoned and barely had any cheese, sauce or salad. Quite disappointing, as I enjoyed it last time I ordered from here. Luckily my friends still enjoyed their food, but mine was bad.

Food was terrible need a refund still awaiting this to be processed if it was done quicker I’d have rated it a little more for customer service.

Had the smash burger and chicken burger with fries and drink. The burgers are amazing. Very very very good. However! The rat box that the meal is presented in is very off putting. Those boxes are when you go to a pet shop and buy a hamster/mouse/gerbil Not what you want to be thinking about as your tucking into your food!

Loaded fries comes with 1 splash of sauce, no sriracha sauce, would not recommend.

Good arrived cold as driver did not use insulated bag to keep food warm and cold drink next to warm food in same bag But food was good and tasty Sam savour the temperature of the food this time

Cherry on the cake is non of the burgers are processed meat, all hand made fresh on the premises, you can really taste the difference!

I already loved the food from here to the point when our friends visited it was the first place we took them to. Whilst squabbling over the bill our server was so amused he told us it was on the house!
