Worst experience of my life a certain staff member was rude and late.....had to keep going to the bar to order even though we were at a waited table. Food orders were all mixed up forgot our chips drinks orders all mixed up and to top it off when ordering fruit and whipped cream for our 2 year old grandson the rude late waitress turned to our 2 year old and said sorry we don't have any there's a sainsburys across the road! Never again!!!

Great food. The chips are exceptionally good- you'd be crazy to go and not order the chips! Had a prawn salad- fresh, pretty on the plate and well assembled. Mojito was mixed to order, good balanced flavours. Very happy with my visit.

This place came highly recommended to us so we went there for my son's birthday - total 7 people. The atmosphere is good but was very disappointed with the service. Olivia, our waitress, was lovely, but we had to wait 1hr 20 mins for our main course to arrive, AFTER we had eaten our starters!! Normally you would expect to wait around 15/20 mins!! Once I enquired to why we were still waiting, it arrived within 10 minutes!! So I assume the order was forgotten to be put through!! By this time the mood at the table was gone! We had watched People who came AFTER us being served BEFORE us....we were all fed up by the time our food arrived! After all that, sadly the food was not that great, our kebabs were very cold and tasted very bland, it was over powered by the salad - the meat had not taste!. The flat bread was very chewy. The burgers ordered (3 different types - Italian, Texan and Zing), did not stand up to the flavours expected, but I was told the meat was soft and nice. Family reported that the chips were good! My husband is gluten intolerant, his "gluten free" food gave him a bad tummy ache with in an hour of eating. I can only assume care was not taken in the kitchen. This can be very harmful and dangerous for those who suffer this condition! At around £15.50 / £15.99 for the main dishes...they all were somewhat disappointing! All in all I think it's expensive food for poor taste and service (not forgetting the danger of gluten contamination in my husband's food!) Also, I wanted to take a cake in for my son (which I have done often before for various birthdays - venues would always happily accommodated at no extra cost) - here I was told they would charge me £9 for keeping my cake aside until needed! So obviously I didn't take one! So folks, if you are expecting normal service, DO NOT order starters... or you'll be waiting a LONG time for your main course to arrive!!! If you are Gluten INTOLERANT, just don't bother going there. Stay safe - eat elsewhere! We spent £190.23 in there, but don't recommend this place and came out disappointed! UDATED AFTER REPLY BELOW. 5/8/24 It WAS 1hr 20 mins wait, your waitress is aware I was unhappy as she apologised several times. Sadly I was polite enough to not create a scene! Now u have just called me a liar, so no thank you I will not be giving you my money again not recommending you to my friends. Also my husband suffered for two days after eating contaminated "gluten free" food. I made it so clear to your waitress that he was gluten INTOLERANT!

Good food and nightly offers plus specials. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again!

Very disappointing.A double celebration meal in what was our favourite restaurant. The steak and chicken kebabs were cold and tasteless and the flat bread and sauce inedible. Minimal service with waitress we had never seen before. Inexperienced staff and more training needed.

Had an absolutely amazing lunch. Service was great, food was amazing and I had the best gluten free burger I have ever had. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Best burger I've eaten in a very long time, and the chips were delicious too. I had the biscoff cheesecake for dessert which was incredible. Service was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming back soon.

On behalf of our bird rescue group, thank you so much for looking out for, and keeping safe, a baby seagull outside of your establishnent (for three days). I am also sorry nobody got back to you before now, but but was a post online that enabled us to track you down. There is little interest from wildlife groups in helping these birds rescue group but we at the South Coast and East Sussex Bird Voluntary Network are happy to get it back up and home where it belongs. You could have abandoned this bird and Will did not. I will message you tomorrow but if you can please consider a donation to us Thank you again. Justin King

Visited with my boyfriend yesterday upon recommendation from a friend whilst we were in the area. Staff were pleasant, I ordered the ribs which I was skeptical of for the £19 price tag but they were delicious and well worth their buck, they fell right off the bone and the portion size was generous, I couldn't finish it all and was kindly given a box to take them home and I can confirm they even tasted delicious the next day. My boyfriend had one of the burgers, although nothing special it went down well and he enjoyed it. Overall the vibe was very nice. Will definitely be back when we're back in the area.

Pleasant welcome from the staff. Catering on site and beautiful terrace at the back for a drink or a meal. Very nice 80s music. Nice room, only downside overlooking the street with a lot of traffic. Very practical, 10 minutes from the port of Newhaven.

Always great food and great service. Sunday roasts are delicious and on other days the best steaks for miles. Don’t get me on the chips. They are the best I’ve ever had. Best place to eat I’ve found in a long time. We don’t go anywhere else now.

Arrived just in time before kitchen was to close. Thankfully the lovely staff took our order and it was delicious 😋. It was a quiet night and we appreciated what they did. Thanks to everyone.

Deliciously thick burgers that leave you with the desire for a second! Good atmosphere and fast service. They have some deals on certain week days - keep an eye out for those.

World class chicken and burgers and a great selection of drinks. Tried the smokehouse burger and 6 wings. Burger is masterclass, big enough to need two hands to hold, but stable! Patty was charred and moist, a feast of flavours in itself. The bun was firm and held the rest of the toppings tightly, allowing for easy eating. Comes with excellent fries with skin, recommend some jerk sauce for dipping! I ordered 6 wings as a side and got a lot more than I bargained for, they're full wings, no half measures! Crispy and succulent, bathed in a tangy buffalo sauce with a little kick of spice. Full of flavour and I'll be back for a lot more!

Travelled over from Littlehampton and needed something to eat before heading home. Had the dog with us but very dog friendly place. I had the Thursday special of sirloin steak and hubby had a burger from the specials board. Steak was cooked to perfection. Hubby said his burger was excellent and bonus the fries were crispy and hot. Well done team!

I love this place. The atmosphere is always welcoming. The staff are lovely and the food is consistently great! Last time we went my wife and I shared a huge Chicken Cesar Salad and a Texan Firecracker burger - if you like KFC zingers the you will absolutely love this one!! Worth noting that they also have roast on a Sunday.

Came here because we were in the area. Wow what a burger (and I'm fussy) perfectly cooked and the service was top drawer, even boxed us up some dessert as we needed to leave early due to a family emergency.

Everything about this place is 10/10. The food is always perfect and the service is amazing. From the minute you arrive you are always welcomed and treated well. The food is always delicious with a good variety on their menu. I have been to a lot of restaurants but this is by far the most impressive!

This probably was one of the best burgers in my life! We've ordered two Texan chicken burgers with hash browns, everything tasted homemade and oh so delicious! Also very tasty king prawns and halloumi fries. If we're ever in the area again, definitely coming back!

This is a lovely place to dine, great for families and friends, my children and their dad love this place, and we always end up there, because it is a great eat out. The staff are friendly and efficient, it's not over crowded and it's dog friendly 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

We booked half a week in advance for a large group of us (over 20) and this was the only place that offered to sit us together as a group locally. It was for a 40th birthday party with some children coming so it was for a fairly civilised evening celebrating together. As it happened we ended up having 6 extra people show up and the staff at burger and bird were quick to offer us extra seating to ensure everyone could stay together. having the bar area allowed everyone to arrive and get drinks casually as they waited for everyone to arrive. I could leave money down for a tab so people could help themselves to a drink on me and the staff were more than accommodating with the different ways people wished to order and pay. Overall the staff were great, it was a lovely atmosphere and the food was really nicely presented and tasted good. There was no pressure for anyone that wasn’t eating to order and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. At first we were unsure about bringing children but every single one of our party were made to feel welcome. We were there until closing and they didn’t try to rush us to leave. This is a little gem in Peacehaven and I hope everyone continues to visit.

Just popped into the restaurant. The food and service was really good. Our waitress Louise is a breath of fresh air. Fantastic person and waitress. she was very friendly and treated us all very well. The food is great. Well priced and generous portions. Will definitely be back!

Rather good. Went with my sister for a meal. It's on the main South Coast Road and there is no parking so you would park just 50m down the road. Nice decor. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered a katsu which is one of my absolute favourites. It was nearly perfect. Wife and sister reported theirs was excellent too. Highly recommend this venue. Slightly on the expensive side but then it is the south coast and it is good quality.

Ah, what's not to love about the Burger & Bird. The interior is lovely and spacious. You're NOT all cramped in because the restaurant wants to cover every square metre in rables and chairs. It can get a bit loud due to how much space there is. You can't best the roasts with the gravy that seems to come from some distant star system that just has gravy masters in it. You can't beat the burgers, they've just got something to them that makes you want another. Which is good because they've got deals on burgers......so I have 2. An outside area which again is spacious and right on the coast. No view but its just nice. The staff are all lovely as well and they've all got smiles on their faces. You'll have a nice meal here. I can guarantee that.

Pretty disappointed to be honest! Hugely expensive for what I had. You’d expect a chicken breast (or 1/2 at least) for £15.00 but no just a tiny chicken burger with two huge hash browns. It was essentially a potato burger! Service was very slow waited 40 mins by that time some things had finished. (kitchen pretty quick once order finally went in). Dessert was also tiny and expensive. We together spent a FORTUNE and left feeling short changed. Sorry!

What a brilliant pub! We visited on a Sunday. We got there at opening time and we're told that they were fully booked but we were welcome to sit and eat in the bar area. So we did, thinking we might be in for a long wait. However, after what felt like only a few minutes, a line of staff members arrived with all of our food... And what lovely food it was too! Also excellent value for money.

We came here on Sunday after reading the reviews for their roast dinners. And the roasts are very good. Lots of different vegetables, crispy roast potatoes, big homemade yorkshies and rich tasty gravy. The cauliflower cheese is also very cheesy. The 'rare' roast beef was not rare it was medium but still nice. Unfortunately the service was not the best. The staff seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. I would go back for the food but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Really good food and great service - especially considering it was busy! We had a mix of veggie and meat meals and they were all good (the only strange thing was tartare sauce with jalapeños - should be some kind of chili sauce)!

Really like it here . Burgers,meat and chicken are great But this time it was sunday roast day 3 different meats to choose from or you can have all three.. I rarely have a roast dinner but this was lovely . Good sized portion, huge Yorkshire pud , red cabbage, spuds, cabbage, carrots and parsnips and thick gravy. We had the additional cauliflower cheese and all was yummy. Lot's of seating inside and a fair bit outside. Great menu, great food and reasonably priced. Great friendly staff.. Highly recommended. They also have comedy evenings..

We were welcomed by staff on arrival and shown to a clean bright table where the four of us had different meals and drinks, delivered by our waitress and waiter who were polite and friendly. Our fare was exemplary and we will definitely be returning to this wonderfully conjovial establishment. Spotless cutlery and tables that are not sticky show that it is possible to provide a top class experience locally with the right team to attend to their customers needs.

What a lovely place with such a relaxed and friendly vibe. Staff are so attentive and service is fast with everyone keen to make sure you are OK. We were staying in the rooms and hadn't booked a table but were fortunate that they were able to find us a spot for 2 inside as it was very busy all evening and we can understand why. The food is absolutely gorgeous. Handcrafted burgers with fresh salad and skin on chips that are soooo fluffy! We nearly lucked the plates clean. Our desserts were tasty too (we didn't really have room but what the hell right?). Nice selection of cocktails - and we really appreciated seeing drinks served in their branded glasses. There's so much effort going into this place that might be missed..... but I promise it wasn't wasted on us. You folks are absolute stars. Special shout out to Will.

I've eaten here a few times and it's very reasonable, pricewise. Both the chicken and beef burgers were excellent, juicy and large. There's a good choice of puddings - the biscoff cheesecake is excellent! - and the service is good. They cater for large parties (on one of visits there were 13 of us). It can be a bit noisy and dark but in the summer you can sit and eat outside, which is nice

Staff very kindly slipped us in in-between Reserved Christmas Table bookings. Had not thought to call for a Reservation. Very busy due to Christmas week, but our food was delicious 😋 enjoyed it very much. Great service from the Staff considering how busy it was with large table bookings. Some loud parties in, but this is what's expected with Christmas drinking and company. All positive though with a good memory to reccomend to other people too.

Wow fantastic food and service. Had heard some good things so thought we would give Burger and Bird in Peacehaven a go in between Christmas and New Year and what a good decision it was. Lovely friendly staff and quick service. The ordering of chips separately to your burger was a bit odd for me but hay willing to try most things. Chips were cut like thick crinkle crisps and looked funny but wow crispy outside fluffy inside... perfect. One of our group wanted mayo instead of the BBQ sauce in their burger and wasn't a problem. Will most definitely be back to try more of the menu.... Thank you Burger and Bird

The chicken burger was nice, overall the meal was pretty expensive especially considering sides aren’t included and the cocktail was a let down. Service was good, seemed to be servers new to the industry but they were great.

Enjoyed a lovely midweek lunch here when it wasn’t busy at all. Excellent customer service and good food. The burger was very tasty, ordered sweet potato fries, onion rings and milkshake too, all was good. Nice relaxed atmosphere, plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Noticed they also do events too such as comedy night. We will definitely eat here again.

Went down for the Wednesday night Comedy show. Great evening, top comedians, fantastic burgers, staff couldn't do enough to help. All round brilliant evening.

Very attentive, friendly staff who really made the atmosphere enjoyable and relaxed. My partner and I ordered 2 kinds of vegan burgers, splitting them in half so we each could try both of them. I have to say that they were both absolutely delicious, and the staff catered to dietary needs with no fuss by removing elements I could not eat. So often vegan options feel like an afterthought, with bland and simple flavours/ingredients, but this was certainly not the case here. We also ordered sweet potato fries which were crunchy and tasty, as well as a vegan coleslaw which was very nice too. My partner accidentally ordered a cider instead of a beer, and on apologetically informing our waitress and asking to buy a beer instead, she immediately expressed that it was no problem and was very understanding. She swapped the cider for a beer for no charge, despite it being my partner's mistake. Really great place, I'm very glad we popped in here for a meal while my son was attending a birthday party. Thank you!

Yes highly recommended recently been here and have been here a few times now with a group from work usually for team meal out and each time we've been and on personal judgement I think the burgers are probably among the best I've / we've had. Can taste every ingredient in whichever burger you choose. They're that good ! The cheese cakes dam good too ! The venue is comfortable with good ambience. With Free parking just up the road its well worth a visit. Look forward to coming back here to try another meal.

Wonderful customer service but I feel the food is a little overpriced for what you get. Even with a discount, nearly £40 for 2 meals with a drink is a little pricey in my opinion
