Great lunch on a cold December day with two grandchildren. Great food and atmosphere and brilliant for families. We were all sell catered for & enjoyed it all.

Without doubt one of the most friendly & welcoming restaurant around, the whole team create a great engaged customer service. Food is always excellent with a changing selection of specials to choose from. Highly recommend whatever the occasion from a casual dinning to celebration.

The unbearable noise in this restaurant makes any conversation impossible, unless you shout into a neighbour's ear. The natural acoustic is already loud, and it astonishes me that they feel that very loud music is in any way helpful. That was bad enough, but my food was really really poor. I chose one of the specials - monkfish - which was just awful; overcooked, in a distasteful white sauce with raisins......'nestling' on a couple of small, thin slices of potato. Certainly the pastas looked better, but my fiends' verdict was very luke warm.I have been there for lunch - in the quieter conservatory, which was preferable, but, honestly, I will NEVER go again......just pop across the road to a more authentic HOSTERIA BOLOGNA.

Please clean your prawns. It was uncomfortable to eat and remove the poo. It was unladylike also. I wouldn’t return because of that.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The service was prompt and the food came quickly, though it wasn’t overly busy. The food itself was good enough but lacked the distinctive flavour I look forward to with Italian cuisine. But the deal was definitely sweetened by the complimentary digestif offered at the end! Overall a good experience.

A lovely lunch at Buona Sera on the famous Northcote Road. It was the venue for my first meal with my wife 20 years ago. The staff were great and the food was delicious. Highly recommended. Great for family meals.

Relaxed and friendly. Good service and they don’t rush you to leave, which makes a pleasant change from many other restaurants. Good food and varied choice.

Would give this zero stars if it was an option. The worst meal that I have eaten. Pizza was greasy and base was tough, my mum had a chicken main which was inedible and chips uncooked. The bill also came to +£100. Rip off. Woman who served us was very rude. Won’t be back

The reception from the staff was warm and friendly and the table for 6 well sited. From from drinks, through starters to coffee were promptly served by charming staff. The ambience of the restaurant is super and all the food ordered was exactly as described, well presented, and absolutely delicious. I had the seafood spaghetti which had oodles of shellfish and perfectly cooked spaghetti. Everyone enjoyed there choice pf food. Even the bread and olives was plentiful. Overall I highly recommend this establishment for quality and value . Excellent in all respects.

Son arranged to visit for Easter Sunday lunch, just simple and superb food. We had different dishes each but all were excellent flavours. I had the Calzone 👌

Felt as if we weren't welcome, whether it was due to being foreign, or an LGBT couple, or seen as too poor, or not local enough. We felt avoided as the older waiters actively went to greet the other people at neighbouring tables. At one point the waitress waited until I had finished my last spoon to clear the table. Apertisers were okay. Focaccia tastes nice. Pasta was nice, but the flavours seemed lacking. Will not be going back.

I have been going there for years but with a break for family reasons, now back and it’s still sane warm lovely place. Luigi, front of house, from old days , greeted me and kids so warmly as if yesterday and made such an impact on evening for the four of us.. the waiters were so attentive on such a busy evening, food as great as ever, definitely going to be my local again. My partner & I went here to celebrate a special occasion. It definitely wasn't the 'romantic Italian' we were envisaging based on the pictures online. It was extremely loud and we were perched on a table pretty much in the corridor. The food was okay (focaccia & bread was pretty dry), but definitely not anything special. Pretty much as soon as you stopped eating or put anything down it felt as though it got whisked out from under you - even if it wasn't finished. The pizza was enormous so I asked them to box it so I could take it with me. We were waiting to pay for ages (10-15) after getting the bill, and when we left the restaurant I realised I'd left the pizza on the table. Went back within 30 seconds and they told us it had been thrown away and laughed us off. Obviously a bit of a shame that the food went to waste, and just thought it was a very, very strange & unhelpful response - especially given there was about 3/4 of the pizza still left. Not a huge deal - just added to the overall "meh" feeling. My partner and I also both have severe nut allergies, and we explained this to the waiter at the start of the meal and he nodded to show he understood but didn't actually give us any more information about meals we could/couldn't have and we kind of got the feeling he didn't really hear us? Definitely not confidence inspiring. Service charge of 10% was included, which kept it simple. Honestly, we won't go back. There's plenty better Italian restaurants nearby for a similar price, better food & better service.

The food is simple, authentic Italian and done very very well. The staff are very welcoming and you get a nice feel from the family run business. Will definitely be back.

Frustrating to see such a well presented vibrant restaurant ruined by moody waiters. Even more so when a 12.5% service charge is added. One) there was only two of us Two) provide the service to warrant charging this fee. Can’t fault location, atmosphere and food. Could be so much more this place.

The service wasn’t great at all. We got three different meals put in front of us and none of them were ours and got taken away quickly and put on someone else’s table. I had to ask to change the cutlery as it wasn’t clean. We also got two people’s bills before we had even asked for ours. The atmosphere wasn’t great and felt quite noisy and busy, not a relaxing nice dining experience. Food was nice but nothing amazing. Think it would have been a more pleasant experience outside and not in the restaurant.

The service was terrible. Once we had finished our food we had the bill slammed on the table and the waiter come with the card machine without us asking. We had asked earlier in the night what time they closed and if we had time to get a bottle of Prosecco and they said yes of course you do and after paying the bill they switched their mood and asked us to leave 4 times even though we had a half a bottle of Prosecco left. It was so rude and not how you treat paying customers.

One of the best Italian restaurants in London. We live just down the road from Buona Sera and have been countless times. The staff are friendly and the food is amazing. A must visit.

AVOID THIS PLACE!The service is horrible,the waiters are super rude.We did not even tried the food because we waited more than 20min for a pizza and politely ask the waiter twice for the drinks at least and he didnt even apologize just said "its not my fault, the bar is busy ,what do you want?" then we just left the table and tried to speak with the person in charge but the waiter came and asked straight away if we wanted to cancel the order.I cannot understand how the owner of this place allow the staff to be so rude and unprofessional.

Some of the worst service I’ve had in London. We arrived just before 7, and at 8.20 one of the waiters accused us of lying about the time we arrived and tried to kick us out... even though we had booked a 7pm-9pm slot over 6 weeks in advance and it was meant to be one of our first meals out of lockdown that we were really looking forward to. He seemed to calm down and accept we weren’t lying - then when we asked a waitress for more drinks, she obliged and we carried on the evening.Literally 5 or 10 minutes later he came back and demanded that we needed to leave even though we all had full drinks. It was all very uncomfortable. Food was ok but they basically just wanted to get us in and out of their restaurant as quickly as possible. Would recommend the management learn some skills in customer service in future. Wouldn’t eat here again, there are many more personable places to eat on northcote road.

Visited for dinner on a Tuesday night. The service was great and we're more than helpful with the menu. When the food came it was outstanding. Even the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. Highly recommended.

La comida estaba bien, no estaba mal, pero tampoco nada del otro mundo. Otras mesas tenían agua, pero llegó nuestra comida y. . . todavía no hay agua. Preguntamos tres veces antes de que alguien trajera agua, momento en el que ya habíamos terminado nuestro almuerzo. Qué lástima.

Visitamos el sábado por la noche cuando estaba muy ocupado. La comida era buena pero la experiencia se arruinó por el pésimo servicio. Tuvimos que pedir 4 veces para pedir una bebida; el camarero puso los ojos en blanco e incluso le pidió a uno de nuestro grupo que dejara de dar las gracias, ya que se considera de mala educación. Es una pena haber estado aquí antes y realmente lo disfruté, pero definitivamente no volveré ni se lo recomendaré a nadie.

Tuvimos la mejor comida aquí para 7 personas. Nos acomodaron temprano y fueron muy rápidos con todo. La comida también era increíble ya un precio muy razonable. El ambiente un sábado por la noche aquí también es genial. ¡No podemos esperar a volver!

Luego esperamos otros 40 minutos y pedimos dos veces que pidiéramos nuestras bebidas, sin embargo, la camarera dijo que estaban demasiado ocupados para tomar nuestros pedidos. Went for aperol and pizza, both delicious although I ordered an extra topping which didn't arrive so had to chase after our waitress to ask for it, she rolled her eyes and came over to take the pizza back to the kitchen, all without saying a word to me. Then returned with the same pizza (now cold) with olives clearly just thrown ontop. The olives themselves were stone cold. No apology or anything and spent the rest of the time feeling like they wanted us out of there. Loved the food, general ambience was nice and other staff seemed nice, just not ours.

It's just the TASTE you either have it or you don't... Buona Sera have it, it's ITALIAN FOOD it's not an imitation you can just taste and feel this...We ate simply, we didn't push the boat out it was mainly pizza and pasta but it was Italian, it wa sthe Italian we expect in Italy so we're happy.And for the wheelchair - well again I didn't test the toilet but everything else worked, they even had a ramp out side (I don't know if it was for me - but it was appreciated)

Came with a group of people one Friday. Totally unimpressed with everything.Asked waitress if they served draught lager to which she replied ’Yes’. I then asked if it was a pint and got the same answer but was served a half. Not a great start.Admittedly the shared seafood starter was OK although only lukewarm when served. Other starters were described as bland. The pizza I had was one of the worst I have had and another of our party called the waitress over and said his pizza was awful and she did nothing.Mixed reaction on the rest of the mains but no one said they enjoyed theirs.So the food was not good, the place was very noisy and the service average and the small draught beers (Moretti) worked out at £5.30 each including service. Dearer than bottled Peroni, WHY?Another place we won’t be returning to.

I have been coming here since I was tiny - I insisted on spending my birthday here every year as a child and as a young adult this hasn't changed much! The food is delicious, with a good wine selection and doesn't cost much either. Great atmosphere! The acoustics in the restaurant are quite bad so it's often very loud but it is worth it. I am always made to feel so welcome coming here, welcomed with a huge smile and a kiss.I would especially reccomend going in summer to sit outside, great for people watching along the Northcote Road.

Very popular always busy, we just got a table and a very nice one on the terrace facing the street. Great buzzing atmosphere inside and out. Staff are friendly and very efficient. Pizza was average, polenta was bland, mushrooms were poor. However, this could just have been our unlucky night &/or we made poor choices.

Por lo general, trato el linguini de mariscos como un punto de referencia de lo bueno que es un restaurante italiano, ¡y esto fue muy bueno! EXTREMELY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT GO TO BUONA SERA! My friend and I have been going to this restaurant for years. The management changed. We went for her birthday and a huge shard of glass was found in her calzone pizza. We were accused of planting the glass in the pizza and forced to pay for her food. This has made us so terrified to eat at the restaurant we haven’t returned since.

Best Italian restaurant I've been to in London. Nice,spacious and lively restaurant with superfriendly service, very traditional Italian. Honest, flabpursome food, good presentation and decent size portions, and good value for money. Highly recommended.

Impromptu dinner with a small group of friends on a Friday night. Had been before MANY moons ago so thought it would be interesting to see whether the years have been kind to the place or not.

Came for a catch up lunch with a friend. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was very good quality and the portions are large. There are gluten free pasta dishes too, wish as a coeliac was a treat. Had a delicious mousaka to start. Looks like they offer great grappa and wine. Free Limoncello on the house with the bill. Will definitely be coming back.

In terms of the staff, I would give this place an A*. Friendly, attentive, efficient, attention to details. However the atmosphere of the restaurant was loud, and the food was very much mediocre at best. It looked good but honestly speaking it needed more love and care-less salt, and more favour. It was really an ok experience, probably would find more authentic places to visit for Italian food in the future.

Visité un sábado por la noche con un amigo. Reservamos con antelación y es recomendable hacerlo para evitar decepciones ya que el restaurante estaba lleno. Nos sentamos rápidamente, el servicio fue un poco lento, tuvimos que llamar la atención de los camareros para ordenar y facturas, pero el personal era amable.

Fui allí con mi familia para una celebración. La bienvenida fue cálida y acogedora. El lugar estaba tan ocupado y se mantuvo así durante toda la noche. El personal era atento y servicial. La comida se servía caliente y todos los gustos estaban deliciosos. Pedimos una variedad de platos, y ninguno de ellos decepcionado. Me encantaría volver.

Este es realmente un gran lugar para comer. La comida es de primera clase. La pasta era preciosa, pero nos encantaron las pizzas!

Visité este restaurante el lunes 14 de enero con mi esposa. Encontró el menú muy limitado, pero finalmente encontró algo adecuado para ordenar. Pedí Lasaña y mi esposa pidió sopa Minestrone. Nos sentimos decepcionados con nuestras comidas ya que la lasaña se calentaba en el microondas y muy caliente cuando se servía, pero resultó ser completamente sin sabor y nadar en algún tipo de salsa. La sopa minestrone debe ser una sopa espesa de verduras con pasta, esta era una sopa espesa y acuosa sin papas, principalmente verduras o espinacas. No parecía apetecible en absoluto. La esposa dijo que esto también era insípido. Si bien el precio era bastante razonable, hubiera preferido pagar más por la sabrosa comida italiana. No volvería de nuevo.

What a lovely, friendly restaurant with excellent food. We came here before a show at The Clapham Grand so we didn’t really give Buona Sera justice. But in the few hours we were there we had a very good meal, with very fresh pasta and excellent seafood. The service is rapid, attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

Northcote Road is a pleasant shopping area, so we needed a good Saturday luncheon venue for the whole family. Buonasera really meets that need, but make sure you book as it gets very busy. Understandably.

We have been here more than a few times, and considered it one of the best places for Italian food. However, this time was a total disappointment. One of the drinks I ordered came wrong, but all the staff were rushing around so much, it was difficult to get the waiter to correct it. Our meal arrived fairly fast, but this time was not asked if I wanted pepper, or parmesan cheese on my pasta , which every time before they have done. No one came up and asked how our meals were at any point, and when the bill arrived it included a service charge, which means the waiters are used to getting a tip for bad service, (they don't need to try). It just seems they now want to turn tables as quick as possible and you get canteen service. A real shame as previously we have had some great food and service. It appears no one is in charge of front of house, the reason maybe they all rush around.

My family have been going here for the past 25 years. Although a few small things have changed over the years, it has kept its authentic Italian charm and family-run feel. Excellent service and they really value regular customers. The tomato garlic bread is to die for. I could almost eat that for a whole meal. The chicken goujanada is always a favourite and every pizza and pasta I have had are delicious. One thing I will say which is not a downside, but something to note, is that it can get quite noisy especially as it's popular with young families. If with someone hard of hearing, ask for a table on the left-hand side of the bar/entrance which tends to be a bit quieter.

The service in this restaurant has really gone down hill. It's always been quirky but I hate being placed at a table and then having to remind the waiters to bring your order.

I love everything about this restaurant. I love how fresh the food it, how friendly the staff are, how clean everything is, but most of all the atmosphere. I love that you can sit inside or in a little outside area around the front of the building, and it really does feel like being on holiday. The pizzas are amazing and the calamari is the best I have had in London. I seriously can not rate this place high enough! Definitely go and try it out

Pizza and pasta, forget about to be Italian!This place does not deserve to be called Italian, not reccomanded.

Nothing really wrong with this place.If you just want to pop in and have a pizza or plate of pasta, it's fine but don't go along thinking it's going to be a special meal. Prices are not bad, service could be better as was a bit moody, food not bad.

I ordered the gnocchi and it looked and tasted as if it had come straight from a packet, the sauce was tomato and basil and also tasted like something you would buy from a supermarket - not made from scratch. I can't remember the last time I've been so disappointed in a meal. My friends were also disappointed with their orders. The pizzas looked relatively good - but if you want pasta you'd be better off making it at home.

Have been eating here for over 20 years, in recent years it has become very average, what a shame. The service is OK, but the food doesnt have the authentic tastes it used to.

Very good thin crust pizza. I had the Diavola which was great. The chili oil could’ve been spicier but had a lovely flavour. Will go back.

We have always enjoyed eating at Buono Sera and decided to order a take always via Deliveroo when we had family over from the US. The pasta was dry and tasteless and was so bad we threw away all of it and we did the Gnocchi. The calamari the only thing edible from what we ordered. It was extremely embarrassing as I had raved about the food there and one of my guests from the US paid for this. We got some pizza from firizza for dinner.

I visited here for lunch with a friend having been here several years ago and remembering good food. We were not disappointed. The calamari is a must and all the food was excellent. We ended up coming back again the next day for lunch again as we were so impressed. Will be returning soon

La pizza es normalmente tan bien aquí, así que por lugares llenos de Paddington a comer por encima de ir a ningún otro lugar. Llegamos a mitad de 8, comimos entrantes, y entonces esperamos nuestros platos principales. A las 22:00h ya era bastante obvio que había olvidado sobre nuestras pizzas y aunque me dijeron "no te preocupes, próximamente 'la gente que había llegado a la mitad de ellos antes que nosotros tuvimos 9 (que parecía muy bueno, tengo que añadir). Nuestras pizzas llegó un desorden poco hecha con descuidadas, absolutamente ninguna disculpas. Ambas eran incomibles, pero era muy tarde para entonces, mi novio y yo no podía tratar con esperando un reemplazo. Qué es tan ofensivo sobre toda la cosa es que el personal nunca admitió el fallo (lo he entendido, que estaba tan ocupado) y luego procedió a servirnos sub-comida estándar para añadir insulto a la injuria. No volveré de nuevo por esto y estoy enfadado haber perdido mi dinero. Que obviamente están tan seguro de que no importa la calidad más.

En una noche caliente en Londres este alegre restaurante buscando con un montón de espacio para sentarse fuera y abrimos las ventanas/puertas de altura planta aire fresco parecía atractiva. El servicio era amable y eficiente y, aunque a mediados de semana el restaurante grande era bastante lleno. pronto. Teníamos calamares y pan de ajo para comenzar. Los calamares era realmente fresco y degustación de luz. Puede a menudo ser más maltratado. El pan de ajo era grande y sin duda era suficiente para tres mujeres. Nuestros platos principales eran un bocconcina pizza. Muy fresco y colorido. La salchicha orecchiette, que estaba bien (un poco de arena) y el marisco linguini. Teníamos vino blanco que era fresco y agradable. Buena relación calidad-precio. El agua del grifo se reponía regularmente. En general, una muy agradable semana local.

We visited on a group night out and the pizza was excellent. Proper Italian base with a good amount of toppings. The service was very good. With all the doors open it was good place for dinner on a hot night.

A great restaurant serving food all day, very relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming and smiley proprietors and their team. Great pizzas, the penne norma is excellent and the zucchine chips are a must Great value Vermentino white wine at £26.50 a bottle.

I went here for dinner with a friend, and was really surprised by the food! It was absolutely delicious. Also, most of the other people eating there were Italian which I always think is a good sign.

I had lunch with my brothers. Food was good, service friendly and attentive. Lots to drink! We started outside and moved inside to eat, the staff made this no problem. I would recommend.
