Bunny Jackson's in Manchester

Good music,good food and drinks, love it!

We came here yesterday as a small group for the Bottomless Bunny offer which is a little bit vague to say the least. Nowhere on the website does it mention the limitations of the offer, such as what flavour wings you can get, what drinks are available, or for how long the offer lasts (which is 1 hour and 30 minutes). Nobody informed us when we made mention of partaking in the offer of these restrictions either. It was our first time, so we were a bit clueless as to how things worked. When we went to the bar to order, we were met by an incredibly unpleasant bartender (light brown hair, mullet-y style) who had a disgusting attitude towards my friends and I. The music was loud and there was quite a bit of distance between us and the bartender, so that made communication a little tricky. Whilst I understand that it can be frustrating to repeat yourself, I don't think it's justified to have a stinking attitude towards customers, especially when we were being polite to him. When my friend asked again what drinks we can get under the Bottomless Bunny offer (which is daquiris and house lagers), he said "I just said that" in an extremely patronising tone. My friend and myself have worked in hospitality for just shy of three years and were shocked and disgusted by his response. I was very close to asking for a refund and leaving, but I wanted to give Bunny Jackson's a chance because of the good things I had heard. That bartender's attitude really soured the mood for us and we actively avoided being served by him because we didn't want our afternoon to be ruined even further. That being said, the wings are great (I'd rank them a solid 7/10). I personally like the buffalo and classic (plain fried). The BBQ wings are nice but a little bit too cinnamon-y for me. I'll go back to try the other flavours and sides, but I'll make sure to avoid that bartender if I see him again. The commis waiters who brought the food were pleasant, which was a relief after that awful interaction. In short, great wings, cool venue, terrible service from the bar (the other bartender who served us wasn't so friendly either, but at least he wasn't so obvious about it like the one I've been talking about in this review), slightly too loud to have conversations with others, and lacking quite a bit of information re: Bottomless Bunny both online and in person. I'll come again, but it's only because I'm a fiend for wings. If I'm met with the same foul attitude by the same guy, I'll revisit this review and edit as necessary.

Gents toilets on the Saturday night I was there were disgraceful, urine all over the floor and cubicle lock broken, dive bar was packed, bar staff friendly

Website clearly states under 18s are allowed before 4pm for food so we didn’t think to bring our ids for lunch, we just wanted to grab a quick bite and we were refused service for food as we didn’t have ID the woman behind the bar was so rude about it aswell

Fantastic food, great selection of drinks, amazing atmosphere and friendly service, very well priced. Best wings I've had, highly recommend the sailor Jerry's ones as they are amazing, great music on, not too loud so you can still have a conversation and hear the other person without issue.

I absolutely love this place I've only been a couple of times but love it. I told my husband I couldn't stop thinking about the chicken wings so we went again. So cheap, amazing chicken wings they are so good, loaded fries and fried pickles all were delicious. The atmosphere was great they were playing country music.

Surprised by what good value the wings are here -- 35p each but really meaty and good quality. Table service, and toasty outdoor seating to boot. As a spice fiend, they could definitely up the hotter than the sun wings a touch, but most people would be rather floored by them. Amazing selection of whisk(e)ys too -- the abosolo is incredible. ETA - updated April 2024. Wings still 😋 ETA - updated April 2025. They seem to have changed either the kitchen staff, supplier, or are cutting costs but the wings had gone from the full wing to just the tips, choices fewer, drinks selection pared back, and barely a hint of sauce on wings. Noooooo. Cheap, tasty wings are no more. Hoping I just caught them on an off day.

Got turned away by the bouncer because we had a bottle of water and he wanted us to leave it outside. Is it even legal to deny people their own water….what a joke

A great bar, friendly staff the wings are a must try, be warned the hotter than the sun, are very spicy.

Have been in the past and had great wings so thought I'd try my luck on deliveroo. Never again. Turned up without any sauces (was meant to be 5) and the box presentation was awful. I've seen better in the last kebab shop open at 6am Saturday morning. Thanks for the violation 👍

I would say I’m quite an easy person who always gives out 5 star reviews, but this place is definitely a 10 out of 10 (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) We just walked past at the lunch hours and saw bunch of people having wings in the outdoor dining area which seems pretty cool and the wings look amazing so we popped in. I have ordered a classic flavour of boneless wings and my friend had the JD honey & mustard flavoured one. It was served hot and crispy, absolutely delicious! Most amazing part is the fried with old bay mayo, which surprisingly match and I really enjoyed it a lot. 😆

SUCH A SHAME. I am 30 years old and was out with my girlfriend who is 26 years old. I have drank and been out all over the world and this is the first time I have been refused entry to a pub/club. It was such a shame as my girlfriend and I were really looking forward to going to Bunny’s and listening to the live music. However the bouncers refused us entry as my girlfriend was “wobbly”. We had 2 drinks prior to attending Bunny’s so we were not drunk and not even a bit tipsy. The door staff were clearly bored and just wanted to pick on an easy target to bully and refuse entry in the hope it would spice up their night. I expect this sort of discrimination and bullying at nightclubs for Uni freshers events etc. However I was shocked to experience it at a place like Bunny’s which prides itself on being a free spirit fun loving establishment. The bouncer was unable to explain what he meant by ‘Wobbly’ and he refused to justify his decision saying ‘I don’t have to explain why’. Which is true, but still so disappointing and sad that he had to make up a reason not to let us in. I imagine the truth is they were too busy and told to make something up to deny people entry. The 3 bouncers all found it hilarious that they stopped us from entering and nothing we said could change their minds. I have been to Bunny’s a few times since moving to Manchester in January but sadly won’t be going back.

Wish the beer wasn't so spenny. Food and vibes are freaking immaculate though

The wings are delicious and have a perfect balance of crisp and saucy. There is a wide variety of flavours to pick from, all of which deserve to be tasted and cater to different tastes. All the while, the prices are affordable. The atmosphere is unmatched, and the decor fits with it seamlessly and helps enhance the unique feel of the bar. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes wings and doesn't mind getting a but messy for some delicious food. P.S. The 'Hotter Than the Sun' wing is also a fun challenge to attempt when going with friends as long as you are willing to be on the verge of tear for 10 minutes.

Fantastic place to visit. Cocktails absolutely superb but quite pricey. Would highly recommend the bloody Mary. Food tasty and reasonably priced. Quite small so go early for a table

Great place for wings music and having fun

I'm a big fan of Bunny Jackson's in the Northern Quarter, but this one didn't live up to the same standard. It feels very cramped by comparison. Drinks selection is good though, and food is fantastic.

Popped in after a work client meeting for some food. Great hidden gem bar! Awesome decor, music & wrestling on the big screen TVs! Friendly, warm and funny staff behind the bar. We got the burgers and chips then realised everyone else was eating wings... They looked great on the menu! Next time we are in the area we will be back!

This place is everything you want a dive bar to be... Gnarly AF with delicious chicken wings as the main culinary offering. These wings were definitely up there with some of the best I've had. Always judge a wing joint by their buffalo sauce offering. It was bang on!

The food was okay. Nothing special about it, but maybe that was our choice.

‘Gents’ toilets are so bad. Feminine lips as urinals is predatory, and cubicles that you couldn’t swing a cat in (or turn around your own body without dragging your leg across the urine soaked bowl in order to close the door for some privacy!)

Had a nice late eve/early morn couple of drinks here after a gig... staff were really nice and the atmosphere wasn't the worst either. Helped my friend access the disabled toilet and the prices aren't all too bad.

Really lovely staff! Very chilled atmosphere. I ordered two margaritas two for the price of one really delicious!!! I will be going back soon

Staff very rude and inattentive, clearly don’t care about guest. Rolling eyes and very bad attitude from all staff behind the bar. Very disappointed.

Security guard kick me out for wrongly herrasting and stalking someone They keep pushing me and refund to let me finish my drink or refund it I ask them to ask the bar tender to prove my innocent but they didn't They haven't responded to my emails That explains what happened and I ask for a apology and a refund

No live music until 10:30pm on a Saturday night is disappointing. No gluten free options food wise, and the atmosphere was a bit dull as you couldn’t even hear the songs playing. The pool table is placed right in the middle of the tables so you can’t even play properly. Don’t know how this place can advertise itself as a dive bar. The staff were nice, but every surface was sticky. Dont recommend going here

Visited with my husband before a gig at the Ritz and will definitely be returning. Food and cocktails were delicious, staff were very friendly and attentive and the music was great.

The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the food is great. Ordering 10 wings and fries was more than enough food for dinner and lunch the next day!

Incredible discovery. They have so many types of wings that you need several visits to try them all, and at incredible prices. Very good atmosphere, it happened that the Super Bowl was being played and the bar was packed, but you could still be there perfectly to enjoy their famous wings and a good pint. We will definitely return on our next trip to Manchester.

Absolutely quality atmosphere. Slightly gutted the wings are now 25, 50&75p but still cannot complain! Good selection of beers nice live music. Definitely going to continue being a regular visitor

First ever visit here, will never miss it off a Manchester trip from now on. I was originally unsure if I was to just take a table and then order and the staff member helped me. Food was perfect, I couldn't have expected any better. I went for BBQ sauce, a little kick to it but delicious. Fried chicken coating perfect and old bay mayo (with the fries) was like nothing I'd ever had before. Drinks were a little expensive, I ordered a strawberry daiquiri that was verrry small but it couldn't have negated from the perfect food plus it was delicious even if small. Will definitely make a point to visit everytime I am here in Manchester and I've already recommended to family members.

Quirky cool bar, lots to see and take in all over! American theme so NFL on the big screen and memorabilia everywhere. Highly recommend dropping in!

I've been to the original locations many times over the years and always had a great experience. I was there for the opening day of the Karaoke bar and everything was amazing too. On Saturday as a group of 7 we turned up and were told that it was going to be a 30 minute wait for our table. The majority of the food came out within 15 minutes. Three of the table unfortunately didn't receive theirs after around 45 minutes due ot a till printing issue, and after the team were informed they brought out food quickly and it was absolutely delicious. They gave us a round of free drinks (That they absolutely did not have to do, we were more than happy to wait) and we couldn't have been more impressed. Most of the group had the wings which are always great, I had the vegan loaded fries - and I'm not a vegan, they're just that good! Great staff, great food, great prices and a lovely atmosphere as always. Love the Jackon's locations!

Rock Music ..Check Great Staff.. Check Best American Whiskey...Check Wings to die for...Check. That pretty much sums up Bunny Jacksons. Superb, no, epic wings you've ever had, in a wild range of flavours. Beers, Bourbon, Corn, Rye, genuine Whiskey from the USA. All supported with down to earth, epic staff. Can not fault at all.

Lively American-style diner bar that serves incredibly cheap and tasty wings. I also tried the grilled cheese, which was great but so filling I couldn't finish it. Their house lager is light and crisp, which accompanies the slightly heavier food very well. We visited on a Sunday evening and it was still very busy.

So glad I did my research and found this place when visiting Manchester! Wings were delicious and come in a few flavours! Also ordered the onion rings which were a little too greasy but the pickle dip was definitely unique! Service was lovely, staff are very friendly. Overall vibe of the place was nice too! The swamp dog cocktail was good to try! Very different choice of cocktails which was great 😊

Absolutamente no hay excusa para la grosería y actitud horrible del personal del bar que nos sirvió. Cuando pregunté por qué estaban siendo como eran, recibí la respuesta “Te daré actitud si quiero, termina tus bebidas y vete”. Una verdadera lástima como parecía un buen lugar. No volverá.

Le he dicho durante siglos que tocan la mejor música country. Estuvimos allí el lunes y lo tuvieron jugando todo el día. El bar estaba tocando R y ser música y muy cortésmente pregunté por su cumpleaños ¿podrían cambiarlo a unas cuantas canciones country para obtener la experiencia. . ella no, ya que el gerente no quería tocarlo y preguntar de nuevo en 10 minutos. Esperé fui a comprar más bebidas y pregunté de nuevo a lo que dijeron si quieres música country que se toca en el otro bar. ¡Entonces eso fue un no! Llegó la comida y le pregunté a una joven si era posible limpiar la mesa y nunca me habían mirado así en toda mi vida... como tierra. Incluso mi hija dijo... oh Dios mío... escucha, el servicio de ayer fue impactantemente grosero y no le importó menos... todos en sus teléfonos al final del bar. Soy fanático del country y he gastado tanto dinero durante los meses allí y para ser honesto no volveré. Ojalá hubieras visto la actitud de ayer de todo el personal. Eso arruinó el día y el ambiente. Barra de campo que NO reproducirá música country. . . . genial

This isn’t a sports bar. One screen tuned to NFL Red Zone. Not even Sky Sports. Waste of time.

Favourite bar in Manchester, full of life, decor is amazing, see something new every time we go. Sailor Jerry and sesame wings are the best! Seen some fab bands and mostly everyone is friendly and fun. Oh and take a look at the men's loo's!

Absolutely brilliant country bar , felt like I was in America 🇺🇸 food was spot on and just what you want in a country bar , we had boneless wings in buffalo sauce and to be honest the best I’ve had . Staff were great and polite too , I’ll be going every time I go Manchester 🤠👍🏻

Cuando dije que no estabas lleno dijo que no había gente sola, es un bar. Solo permitimos que entren personas que puedan hablar entre sí. Qué vergonzosa política.

Fantastic place! Wings are very very tasty and prices are nice and affordable! I got 15 wings for just over £8! Live bands on a Sunday which play emo pop rock. So much fun. Staff are friendly and great atmosphere. Pool tables upstairs too 😁

Great venue especially if you're a sports fan. Always go here for thanksgiving games.

Very nice atmosphere with good food

This is a little jewel tucked away in Manchester, quite unique and a breath of fresh air. Very friendly and accommodating bar staff and a great overall atmosphere all round. As for food, there's a bit there for everyone. The menu is rounded out well with American classics with a fun mix of cocktails on offer with prices that make you forget you're in a large city. Upstairs has booths with a pool table and a truly CLASSIC arcade game machine (one of the best imo) I would urge anyone to spend time here if they're passing, what a find this turned out to be!

As always, the BEST wings in the UK. Today went with a nice deep South music playlist, can almost imagine being in the states with the bizarre election looming. Our fav dive bar .. long live BJs

He estado visitando Bunny Jackson’s durante unos años, generalmente para tomar algo y escuchar algunas canciones geniales. Probé la comida recientemente y fue fabuloso. Las alitas de coliflor son una opción vegetariana A* (ni siquiera me gusta la coliflor) la comida salió muy rápido a pesar de que el lugar estaba absolutamente ardiendo un sábado por la noche.

Wow.... this place is awesome. Darts upstairs, cool bathrooms, chicken wings we're awesome. Bartender was cool. PBR was a winner for me.

Went into Bunnys Karaoke after long shift late on a Tuesday evening. Treated badly and refused service. DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE IN INDUSTRY. Plenty of more friendly late bars.

With my band on a weekender and we enter the coolest American bar I've ever visited! Staff are super friendly and serve great Chicken Wings. We wish this was our venue for tonight daaaamn!! 🤘😜🔥👍

Been here twice now and feel like I've found a little gem in this city! My friend set the bar very high with "the best wings ever". They're pretty damn awesome. Ridiculously cheap as well! 10 chicken wings will set you back about £5 which is a steal! I'd recommend coming on a weeknight as it can get very busy and wait times are impacted. The music is a little too noisy at times and makes conversation a challenge. Though this doesn't deter me and I'll be back
