Alison worked hard to give us a comfortable stay. Food was great pub grub and plentiful. Delicious home made treacle tart was an absolute winner . If you’re crossing Mull towards Iona it’s a good stop off.

This is the perfect place to call in for an drink after a long day sight seeing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The bar maid, Joan is an absolute gem and will go right out of her way to make you feel like one of the locals. We were staying in Bunessan and called in most evenings. When we left, she gave us hugs and just made us feel special. The other lady whose name I never did get was just as warm and as welcoming and always found time for a chat. If in this area, please call in for a drink and something to eat. The food is beautifully cooked and well presented.

We stayed for one night during an extensive trip around Scotland's Islands. This was far and away the worst experience we had. The room was fine. The food was awful. I ordered a vegetable curry. This amounted to some curry sauce with about a quartere of a red peper cut into thin slices. Nothing else in the curry! It was accompanied by a small portion of white rice and two fingers of pitta bread. All for £15. My husband had the fish and chips. On the island of Mull you would expect freash fish. This had come from the freezer and again was poor quality . My breakfast was OK as I simply wanted a bacon bap. My husband ordered porridge. This was so solid you could have served it in slices.

Room was clean and comfortable, but had issues getting TV to work properly. Evening meal choices were stark and food is literally functional, but I suppose the remote location doesn’t help with this. Breakfast was much better. Landlady was very friendly and helpful.

Service was excellent and even they organized a large table in a separate room in front of the window enjoying a magnificent view where we comfortably were able to talk and chat for hours while having dinner

Stayed locally in cottage and was looking forward to a nice local pub/restaurant - went in sat early evening for a few drinks - poor welcome and beer selection - we had booked Sunday lunch the following day and chose the roast and regretted it - worst we have ever had ! Welcome was indifferent and despite the manageress giving a reduction we did not return for rest of week - choosing instead to drive into ffionfortt to the far superior Keel Row.

Had a lovely rich beef stew with plenty vegetables included within it. My wife had a large vegetarian salad with roasted seed which was very tasty. An ice cream and a blackcurrant mousse with orange sorbet and caramelised orange peel. All very reasonably priced.

The Inn has recently gone through a complete refurbishment but needs a few new bits and pieces like hooks in the large bedroom and bathroom and somewhere to put ones toiletries in the bathroom. We were not told that rooms are not tidied daily. The dining experience was dire , on the first night I was served macaroni cheese with no discernible cheese - I could not eat it. My family were served so called chicken pie with no pastry crust and oversalted mash. Admittedly the inn was overfull of yachtsmen from a round the island race and I think the kitchen was overwhelmed although the mass clientele was expected Breakfast was advertised as from 8 until 9, but when we arrived just before 9, the kitchen was already closed. on the other hand, the location is superb and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with fresh milk in the fridge for tea and coffee.. More and better trained staff, though pleasant enough and as helpful as they could be, would be a great addition to the experience

The starter was lovely but unfortunately it came with the mains. We ordered burgers. They were homemade but were spicy and did not taste nice. When I mentioned this to the waiter he said yes they’re not like a normal burger. I would have expected him to of mentioned this as it was ordered for a child. The burger bun was soggy as well. Then we asked weather the sticky toffee pudding had any dried fruits (dates) ; he said yes so I didn’t order any for my son, just ice cream. He said it would take 20 to 30 minutes so we cancelled are order and asked for the bill. Then less than a minute later we were told they were ready. When it arrived it was just sponge, no dates and my son would have loved it. When I told the waiter he didn’t offer to bring him one and we were charged the full amount for some cheap chocolate ice cream. Overall we didn’t enjoy any of it except for the starter, giving it the two stars. I would avoid!

Despite the lack of curve appeal, and the slightly "canteeny" feel of the restaurant, this is an excellent place for an evening meal, with a great view across the bay. The staff were friendly and efficient, and despite being busy with a large group, our meals arrived swiftly and hot with good-sized portions.

What a great spot for a beer and a delicious meal. Not sure who the cook was, but it was a good experience everytime we stopped (three consecutive nights). The cottage pie was especially tasty (I ordered it two different nights). Staff was helpful and pleasant. If we return, we'll see if we can stay in the newly re-modelled hotel attached. This might sound strange, but the public restrooms off the pub were among the cleanest and most modern I've seen. Hope we can come back... it was great watching the lambs trooping by outside our window. Wait staff were quite helpful.

Very friendly staff. But very different from pictures on this page. Chips, burger, pizza, was the only choice on a scrappy printed sheet. Unfortunately the place itself didn’t fill us with much confidence so we left. It may well be homemade but the place was giving frozen meal vibes. Maybe someone else will give a better update. Really hope the owners ‘cheer and cosy’ the place up a bit as it’s a bit cold and unwelcoming at the moment!

Regular visitors to Mull but several years since we ate in the old Argyll Arms as it had gone downhill and was often closed. Island residents recommended the rebranded Bunessan Inn and we were not disappointed when we called for Sunday lunch. My sea bass was delicious and my wife enjoyed her roast pork & veg served in a large Yorkshire pudding. Good quality food, reasonably priced and friendly efficient service

Good value meal albeit the service was a little slow and the surroundings had an air of being unfinished (we understand there has been a recent change of ownership). The location is good, with great views over the water and good parking.

We went for Sunday dinner, two couples and had a lovely meal. Starters of tempura prawns and mushrooms with haggis, and the mussels. All of them were fabulous. Three roast dinners and a haddock and chips and we were very happy. Roasts served in giant yorkies with so much beef we had to take some home for the dogs! It is dog friendly inside and out and has a separate children’s area for seating families if needed. Limited drinks selection but we all found something to have. Lovley frkendly service. We will be back.

Our first visit here since it's been under new ownership, and it will be the first of many! We had been years before when it was under previous ownership, and were not impressed. What a turnaround!! The food is fantastic! Huge portion sizes and great food. Very friendly and attentive staff. Thoroughly recommended!

2 English bus passes for Saturday lunch. This used to be the Argyll Arms which we have bypassed many many times. On going efforts ,with new owners I believe ,to smarten the place up are working. Beer on top form, Staff friendly and helpful. Fish and chips were Yorkshire size portions and of good tasty quality. Toilet facilities reported very clean. Will be pleased to call again.

We are Americans from Chicago who over 40 years have fell in love with Scotland and the Isle of Mull. A magic, glorious place. Mull is a bit of a wee bit, but full of wonder. This trip on the way to Iona we stopped at the Bunessan Inn before going on to Iona. It was so magic we stopped on the way back for dinner. Most excellent food and variety. Even venison burgers! While there we saw there was a karaoke night the next day. We drove back from Tobermory to be there. It was a glorious night. Locals, tourists, fishermen from their catch... all getting on. A sublime slice of Scotland and Mull. Don't miss this place. Allison the manager is a sweetheart and Beth is the best waitstaff ever!!!!!

Decided to try the fish and chips to takeaway. Nice crispy batter, chunky piece of fish (no bones), mushy peas, salad and tartar sauce. Will definitely make this a regular treat!

The bar/restaurant lacks greatly in ambience and decor. Doesn't have a feel of restaurant more of a drop in centre. Food was disappointing, portions decievingly presented. I ordered macaroni which came in very shallow dish which was more of a child's portion than an adults....

Ordered a guinness it was terrible tasted sour reported it. Pipes need cleaned The trainee Barmaid maggie wasnt interested charged me another pint when i asked for stella. You cant pay for food, and drinks all at once as she gets confused if you put 3 pints behind the bar. To much for her .Her attitude stinks when i says i will pay now. No go to the cash machine.. I wont be back i was a paying customer her attitude is shocking

I am giving you an excellent review based on previous visits but arrived Thursday 14th November at 11:15 and it was closed. Website says open at 10:00 and opening time on door says 10:30. Several people left disappointed during my 20min seat on bench. Off to Port Bannatyne for my brunch. Can you update your opening hours on door and social media platforms.
