Bull's Head, Whitwick in North West Leicestershire

Not been here for over a year, came with family and friends for a meal and it is 100% better, amazing food, amazing staff!!

My first visit here. A Tuesday at 5pm. It looks like a nice pub, not a posh place, clean and pleasantly set out. We had three servers a lady who met us at the door who was efficient, a younger chap who was nice he took our order and brought the bill, then Dan who brought the meals and second drinks. My wife had steak, salad and chips, she ordered medium rare, it came exactly right. I ordered the salad with Chicken Tikka kebabs plus some chips. It was not busy and the food came fairly quickly. The food was excellent, the chips were great. I had a huge salad full of tastes, texture and well presented. The Chicken Tikka Kebabs (two of them) tasted fantastic. My only moan about the food would be more kebabs and less salad. My wife enjoyed hers. Drinks, Thank you Dan. My first was a Pedigree, a difficult ale to get right on tap. It was OK, I asked about the IPA, Dan was off straight away to bring a sample, it was as if the world stopped just for me to try it. Also he brought all the sauces we needed. I ordered the nice IPA which came quickly. I did ask for a couple of extra things, Dan and the young guy were great. In summary, tasty well cooked food, professional staff, (which is often a sign of good management), reasonable prices. We will be going back

Chosen for a 60th Birthday celebration due to now being under new ownership. On arrival told that there was not a booking for us despite booking months ahead (April) and ringing that week to confirm the booking for 8. They were able to still honour a table on a Saturday evening at 7:30. pm. Seated and ordered starters and main courses. Served starters which were all as ordered and delicious. Mains then arrived. Many of us had ordered steaks which were not cooked to what we had requested. As it was hot in the restaurant, very noisy and we were all hungry we accepted this rather than cause a problem. Mains eaten desserts were ordered and a request for coffee's made. Only to be told at 9:15 pm that the coffee machine was switched off and being cleaned. No one asked if we wanted a coffee which many people like to have after a 3 course meal. It then felt rushed with the table being cleared of glasses and plates. It felt we were being urged to leave the premises despite the pub/restaurant being open until 11 pm according to the website. Very disappointed with a Special Birthday Meal that should have been a night to remember!

Great meal again this time there was a big party of us the service was fantastic all meals came out together which is a very hard job to do with so many of us. So a big Thank you to Management chief and staff for a lovely meal will be in again soon.

We went for our great granddaughters birthday. I rang and asked that if we brought with us her birthday cake 🎂 would they kindly fetch it out after dinner. We had a lovely meal there were 7 of us altogether.every body really enjoyed their food it was excellent. The staff were really friendly and helpful and after dinner they fetched out the birthday cake and sang happy birthday to her which she thoroughly enjoyed. Came here for lunch on a Saturday. It was very busy outside which was nice to see. Inside, where we ate, was pleasant too and the staff are friendly. The food was great and a reasonable price and we all said we’d love to come back as a family for dinner.

Brilliant work Christmas dinner. Good portions of tasty food from the Festive Fayre Menu. Fab customer service throughout from Ashley and the staff. Offered to change the seating to accommodate the change of circumstances, took a group photo and frequently asked if we was happy.

Absolute 1st class service from arrival to departure. Ashley, Dan & and team made us extremely welcome & served us fine cuisine from the chefs & a variety of fine ales. Will most definitely return especially in summer months to what looks a Fab outside garden.

Chose this restaurant as mid way point to meet friends. The food was excellent and very good value. We all enjoyed our meals very much.

The Bulls Head is our favourite restaurant! Ashley went above and beyond to make our daughters 15th birthday a special one! All members of staff, from front of house, to the kitchen, are always friendly, organised and efficient. Our party mainly ordered steak. Not been to this pub for a while but glad we made the effort to go. Our kids loved the bouncy castles and the play park. The beers were lovely and the food was very tasty and presented so well. We had the beef burgers and the liver the kids had the sausages. I would say the burger was the best I'd had in a long time and the kids had proper Cumberland sausages. Very bad experience. We sat and ate our dinner which was poor quality food and when mentioned it to staff they just didn’t really care and basically didn’t want to know. We then watch we think is the owner arguing with another table who had also experienced poor quality food, they had also mentioned it to staff but nothing was done about it and the poor women who was letting the owner know that the food wasn’t great was then being told she was lying about it in front of the whole pub and the owner was very rude to her and party members. Not what you expected from an owner of a restaurant. Definitely won’t be returning.

after returning from holiday we decided to dine out for our Sunday roast dinner, we had booked for 2p.m. but arrived early , "no problem" said the young lady and found us a table .After ordering our drinks we enjoyed a lovely hot meal inc. dessert,served too us by very friendly efficient staff who had a good knowledge of all that was available, we will be returning again very soon and would strongly recommend the BULL to .EVERYONE. thanks for a lovely meal .welcome home. Don't do it, don't waste your time, money or taste buds eating at this place. Obviously, you encourage your staff to ask customers if everything was OK with their meal. Why do you bother to do this? You didn't listen to any of the feedback that was given. You accused us of lying about the contents of a salad! Our feedback was met with rudeness and derision. So sad that we had to have a stand up argument infront of everyone (at a family celebration) because the chef/owner couldn't admit he had made a mistake.

Came here for a birthday meal with my family. Left very disappointed with food and the customer service. Vegetables on the the roast dinner were undercooked. Meat was dry and had no flavour. Salads were also very poor consisted of lettuce and some chicken stuck together with gelatinous mayonnaise. Not as advertised on the menu. Tried to make a complaint and no one seemed to have a clue what was going on. Eventually chef spoke to us who basically told us our complaint was wrong and offered no apology or money off. Would not choose to go back here again and will tell others not to bother in future. Shame as this pub has offered much better food and customer service in the past.

Came in for Sunday lunch 1 ordered Sunday dinner the rest of us ordered ploughman's lunch 1 asked for normal cheese instead of smoked as didn't like it they said no problem they then came back and said there would be a long wait for the ploughman's (why its a salad) when it did arrive they said we didn't have any normal cheese left you've got smoked so didn't eat the cheese which is the main bit 1 come without pork pie we said oh you've forgotten for put the pork pie on this on reply was we havn't got any left we asked for half a scotch egg instead again none left and just walked away we should surely have been told at the start so we could have ordered something else and this was only 1.40 lunch time we then sat outside on thr tables at the front to then listen to about 4 staff members having a long heated argument it was such a shame

Arrived and was greeted by a nice young lady who i had spoken to on the phone previously ,she was charming i was showed to my table and asked what i was drinking ,after 10 min my order was taken and was delivered to my table about 20 min later i had the Taylors steak and ale pie and it was lovely i did send my chips back as they were not hot enough but again they were only 5 min and all was good all in all was good

Food was expensive, and came in small, low-quality portions. Staff were friendly, but lacked a basic knowledge of the menu.

So I booked it for my mum for her birthday yesterday for 5:45. We didn't get served for drinks until 6:50, and then waiting until 7.15 to be served for food but we had to keep asking what was going on because we was all sat waiting for a very long time. Also while ordering we asked if they sold thatchers blood orange and also asked about what sauces come on the burger as my brother doesn't eat any sort of sauces it doesn't agree with him. The staff didn't seem to no what was on the menu or drinks they served she just kept saying I don't no. And so we ordered our food and said no sauce on the burger please, she also said the onion rings come with the meal so I was like ok yeah that's fine we will have them. But no the onions didn't we got charged for 3 onion rings for a £1 and they were burnt. The burger came out that was suppost to be plain completely and ovbs we told them and the women with glasses came over like you asked what sauce was in the burger and then we all said yes and we also asked for no sauce and she came over very abruptly so then she took it back and after ten minutes the burger come back again all they did was change the bun at the bottom so his burger was freezing cold. So I was very disappointed with the service and the burger and onion rings. But all the other food was lovely. Just a shame we had to wait and get argued with in the process. I don't think I'll be going again very pricey for what you get. And for the poor service and not none of staff nowing What's on menus is very poor. Also we was also late for my mum's surprise party because of how long everything took.

Cannot praise this restaurant enough, food was excellent and great value. Staff could not do enough for you, they went over and above. My friend’s and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back. Five stars not enough.
