went there for buffet lunch today, cold outside and just as cold inside. The buffet bowls were mostly empty and what there was was cold. Staff don't speak to you and you have to ask for a glass to drink your soft drink from will not be returning there and definately would not recommend this place. Why open if your not going to do decent hot food.

Food is alright for the lunch buffet, but options are limited - although you can ask the staff to cook more of some items if available. The quality of the food varies, some items like the sweet and sour chicken are alright, but others like the vaguely named ‘spicy noodles’ were a bit bland and didn’t even taste spicy

Very good value for money. Excellent range of Chinese food, including duck with hoisin sauce. Good mix of spicy and non-spicy options. Genuine all you can eat buffet.

Visited yesterday for lunch.....food was ok...only thing is unlike other buffetts they don't clear your plates and don't give you new ones when you go for seconds...i got the idea they dont really want you goin for seconds .....lol....asked for a second plate and was given a hot plate which burned my hand...don't know how she didn't know as she held it before giving it to me...Also not fully stocked with variety. Went in at noon and some trays were empty....atmosphere was dull.

I went there for a Dinner Buffet, The first suprise restaurant was empty on a Saturday Night, the waitress charged me and i paid before i started eating. Then a couple walks in and the waitress sits them right next to my table and the restaurant was totally empty, i could not understand this, i asked to be moved to another table as i needed space to eat the waitress started shouting at me stay in your place totally she was so rude to me, the couple now moved to 2 tables down, i could not understand why he waitress would do that to me i was totally made a fool of. I immediately stood up and walked out. The waitress has no manners at all she has no idea of what customer service is about, no wonder the restaurant was empty on a Saturday Evening her rude nature has driven all the customers away, I would never return again even if it was free. I would strongly advice not to go there avoid this chinese buffet at all cost, i suggest the place to be turned into a take away or closed down.

This restaurant as gone down hill they want the money but theirs always no or next to nothing to eat in the buffet I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL STAY CLEAR the staff are rude wasn’t like this years ago when the old owners had it always plenty of food and always had time to talk to you not like now they ask you what you want cooking instead of just bringing it out

It doesn't look like the same restaurant that i used to go to. I went there at about 13:30, basically there was no food display. The lady just asked what we wanted that she would bring. My husband asked for chicken wings, and she said, "How many?" If it is a buffet, where is the food? I'm definitely not going back.

Traveled over 20 miles to get here with my partner...arrived few mins before noon and entered as the open sign was shown....was told chef is stuck in traffic come back in 20mins...we waited at a nearby Cafe only to come back and realise food was still not ready...had to wait an extra 10mins...would have left if it wasn't my partner who really wanted a Chinese buffet experience....In all food was nice except some of the chicken balls tasted frozen....waitress was slow in stocking up when things was finished which was shocking as they just opened!....menu was also limited...she was not friendly whatsoever and didn't even offer an apology for all the waiting which was shocking! didnt ask how the food was..not a smile or thank you...won't be returning to say the least... service was so appalling we found it hilarious!lol..thought this experience was a one off but reading other reviews here clearly its not...we wer there for over an hour and no one else walked in..shocker!

Awful, this was a dreadful experience the food is tasteless and cold! also expansive. A real rip off, worst restaurant in potters bar, actually anywhere. Any positive reviews are fake!

Buffett !! There was no food there, and the food that was there was horrible, two people walk out after eating a bit and didn’t pay, they said there wasn’t any food, we paid but left hungry and wouldn’t go there if it was the last place on earth

For the price is well worth it cheap and tasty and good range of food

Very disappointed with the food most of the chicken was under cooked the pork was so chewie and my son was sick when we got home will never go back

Huge Selection of Chinese/Oriental buffet food, lots of choices. The lady working there is quite helpful.

Excellent value for money if you come a big time and everything is full up avoid closing time or near closing time because it’s not full up with lots of choice

Use to come here often when younger. Came with my parents and the quality is still good for a buffet but the refilling of the dishes took forever. 15mins for the noodles. Are 1 and half plate. Ehhhh it’s a good place just needs some passion put back into it. But I feel it’s found it’s locals and caters for them anymore and it goes into chaos. shame really. Might be back in afew months time. No apology or anything from owner just here you go pay. Bye. Not 1 word was exchanged lol I will be going again but to anybody else go when they first open as everything will be stocked.

Absolutely awful! After ordering drinks we walked over to the buffet, well if you can call 4 chips, 2 dry chicken wings and a couple of over cooked ribs a buffet! We drank our drinks told the waitress it was disgusting and left. Ive thrown better food away.

We've been going here for years. I think it must've been taken over. Walked in at 12.30, half an hour after they open. Barely any food left, just scraps of cold, bland dry food. We drank our drinks and left after telling the waitress it was disgusting. It really has to be seen to he believed.

I would say I am very impressed by this buffet. The meat is soft and high quality and cooked in perfection. The variety of food is price is reasonable for what your getting.

Always a worry when a smile isn’t met with a smile. Hostile inattentive waitress who we had to ask for drinks several times even though the restaurant had 3 other diners max. The food was exceptionally dry and almost inedible and practically nonexistent - even when we hinted we’d had no duck- it wasn’t replaced as few diners on Monday night. No finger bowls so lots of people licking their lips and helping themselves to food with the tongs!

It was absolutely disgusting! The chicken and sweetcorn soup smelt off! There was no food cooked we paid £15.90 but there was hardly anything ready, when I mentioned it the woman snapped at me saying “YES ITS COMING”! Because we waited so long for the food people were literally fighting for it. The rice was VERY under cooked. Such a bad experience

Gave it one star the price of take away is 7.90£ I came in last night for two takeaways and the lady has taken 19.80 out of my bank will not eat there ever again robbing b@stards when I called them I was told it's now 10£ a box had I have known that I would of had it delivered fro elsewhere that woman in there is so rude if it is 10€a box why charge 19.80 when it says 7.90 on the window arrogant pathetic Manley tooth woman so so rude i hope she dies

Awful,not much variety, staff unfriendly and they charge children 8 upwards adult price. Definitely won't be going there again

It has been years since I visited this place and I was in the area so was super excited to get there all you can eat take away. I remember trying this place out years ago and was so impressed with the quality of the food. I can say that the quality of the food has dramatically dropped, it was flavour less and the food was stone cold🥶 and I'm not talking about steve austin lol. I doubt I will be going back anytime soon very disappointed indeed.

Absolutely awful. Food has always been nice but when there is food there! They do not bring any more food out if not many customers in as they don’t want any food to go to waste but it’s a Buffett! Worse Buffett iv been to.. you will walk out still hungry. The service is disgusting. You are left waiting around, the woman is very rude. Avoid at all costs. Not sure how this place has not been closed down!

As a wheelchair user it dosent have wheelchair access. You need to make a reservation and let them know so they can make sure your close to the food. The staff are polite and the food is great. Menu is different from afternoon too dinner time but I love both. Would highly recommend

the buffet. It all tasted a bit similar and very bland.. boring. Also very slow at topping up empty pots. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend. 2 stars max.

buffett palace? more like scrapes of food. im sorry im being so harsh but I really think this place needs improvement. there was barely any food and no one was saying when the food would be refilled or something. the food itself was bland and I didnt eat much. the place was sad and the staff were literally shouting! how embarrassing...

Delicious foods, but limited in variety for a buffet. Could do with a bit more variety added on, such as prawns, as found in many Chinese buffet restaurants. The place was a bit too cold.

We ate here on a Tuesday night, so there was only another family there. The staff were friendly, and didn't rush us

Very disappointed. Called restaurant to ensure they were open. They told us till 10pm. We arrived at 9pm and they said chef had gone home. We had travelled 20 miles especially. We will not be going to this place again. This is not the way to run a restaurant!

I feel some of the negative reviews are unfair. Yes there isn't much choice left shortly before they close because it would go to waste otherwise! And I've been in there on a friday evening with not very many customers, so one member of staff serving the tables is enough. They do offer to refresh containers on the buffet if required or if another table has also asked even if it's getting a little late. My friend insists on going here for the chicken now when she visits lol! A shame the price has gone up but so has everyting these days!

i came here for a nice bit of grub with a friend of mine. Im embarassed to call that a buffet, was about 4 containers with food in and seems like it had been left out for a few hours. Service was good on the other hand.

We ate around 7-9pm Saturday evening and the Buffet Place is an all you can eat (or find) eatery which varies depending on what time you get there inrelation to when the dishes are refreshed. Newly cooked stuff is very tasty and pretty much the usual Chinese buffet cuisine. Price is £14.50 a head on a Saturday but cheaper during the week (which makes it better value for money), plus a little expensive on the drinks. Surroundings are basic and food is kept very hot, howver long it's been there. Only one lady serving, which was understandable given the size of the place, and she became more friendly as the night wore on, albeit a bit shy and frosty at first. WE did enjoy our meal in spite of not being convinced when we first arrived and would probably return should we ever be in potters Bar again. It's right in the middle of the high St so really easy to find and parking in the road outside seems to be free after 6 or 7pm.

I was in for lunch to day my husband was eating icecream half way then gust turn with spoon and there was blue bottle fly at bottom I told her check your video she didnt even say sorry never no more I'd go eat in there I got photos as well

The 'vegetarian options' are very limited. Noodles, salad or rice. These are accompaniments not vegetarian options. Food was lukewarm. Wouldn't return and definitely wouldn't recommend.

Loved eating here about 3 years ago visited Saturday and was disappointed hardly any food in buffet trays and alot of it was dry and trays not topped up.

"Help yourself, eat as much as you want chinese." If there was enough to fill a plate, you’d be lucky. The dregs at the bottom of the trays was inedible. After complaining, was still charged full price. Will never go back.

Food was nice and the environment was good but really slack on refilling the food trays up once empty, prepare to wait for your buffet food

Visited here last Friday night for my sisters birthday . There was 4 of us , It was rubbish . There was hardley any food , we had to ask for things to be replaced . They wasn't topping up the food quickly . We had to ask if they was cooking more food . Redicules drink prices . £2.50 for a can of coke? Will not return .

I have been to this eat what you like chinese resturant for many years. Recently it has changed hands. I went with family on a Friday and the food was very slow coming out with empty trays most of the time, and had to ask for it to be filled. Then on Saturday there were 9 of us and again we had to ask for food to be brought out. I dont like leaving bad views but its unacceptable having to ask for food to be brought out , when its eat what you like. It i'snt cheap at £13.50 a head. unfortunately wont be going back anytime soon. Also I know they need to make a profit but £2.20 for a can of diet coke it just a bit much !

My partner and I were at the buffet for the first time yesterday. We were disappointed because the containers had leftovers or many things were missing. I understand that in 2 hours they would close but such things should not happen since the customer pays £ 13.50. Little choice compared to places in the center of London for a not much higher price.Generally, the food is tasty, but sometimes too cold and too greasy.

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever wasted my money on. Soup was lukewarm at best, many dishes missing or had the last unappealing dregs left. Truly awful.

Help yourself, eat as much as you want chinese. A good selection of starters, and mains. For me they do the best chicken wings. Many of your usual favourite dishes. From soup, ducks in pancakes, and an ice cream to finish.

Shocking how down hill this place has gone-walked in 8pm sat down ordered drink then realised no food in 4 trays were empty and no stir fry-tried to talk to rude waitress who has no interest in helping you at all-food was cold and not much to eat about half hour later 2 trays were filled but no noodles rice or stir fry- TRULY TERRIBLE SHOCKING SERVICE FOR A SATURDAY NIGHT!!!

Food has always been lovely, when you can get it . Buffet is supposed to mean you have a choice of a few foods. We have to continuously ask for food as there is never anything there , then you are asked “how many chicken balls do you want” it’s a buffet , so even if I wanted 3 chicken balls, I am sure someone else will want some too. New lady comes across very rude too, poor customer services. I will continue to come here due to the food being so nice though .

I went there tonight with my family as a last resort due to a problem with our booking at another local Chinese restaurant. There were only 2 people sitting in there when we arrived at 7.30pm. We ordered drinks and these were slammed down on the table in cans! The lack of food choice was shocking! NOTHING was being replenished at all and a customer came in for a take away and asked a waitress if any more food would be coming out. She replied NO…what’s here is all that there is so he turned around and left! Didn’t blame him! We won’t be returning here again!!

Do not eat here! Im not surprised the place was empty. The food had mostly run out and everything was really dry because it had been sat there for ages. The sauce was all covered in a layer of skin. I paid £50 for 3 people to eat and a can of coke each. I had a bit of food on my plate and asked for a container to bring it home and she tried to charge me an extra £6.50, you would think they would be a bit more flexible considering that we were the only customers in there but no 👎

This was my favourite restaurant, went last night and there was hardly any food available. Had to wait a long time for them to refill a few trays. Another customer asked what is going on with the food and she was told to come at the weekend as they make more food available but still charging people the same amount of money. Not impressed and will never go back. Very sad.☹☹☹

They make the food in small batches so it is fresh. which is good. stay are friendly and full of locals. the prawn toast was really good and the crispy chicken balls. i think they could improve on the spring rolls. but all in all four £6.50, excellent value

Been here before and it's been fine, not excellent but good enough. However, on this occasion it was not good. I assume that Friday and Saturday are the expected busiest nights so you account for that. Ok, it wasn't packed but that doesn't mean you let the buffet run empty on almost all the choices. I understand that you don't want waste but in a buffet style establishment there is always going to be some waste. We waited 30 minutes for the dishes to be refreshed and even then it was only about 25% of the choices and to cap it all when it came to dessert we were told they had run out. They certainly weren't busy enough to be eaten out of stock. We did eat enough of what was there in the end and we were full but the waitress then had the nerve to ask me if I would like to add a tip, yes, refresh the food quicker.

The food is very tasty but the trays are always nearly empty and a bit dry. It must have changed ownership, now there is only long life milk available instead of cream for the coffee and no fortune cookie with the bill. They start turning the lights off at about 9.30 so you can't linger.

Tiny selection and not the greatest. I felt its only worth £8 as theres no prawns. Deffinetly needs upgrading.The food wasnt bad just not alot to of choice so feel a takeaway from somewhere would have been cheaper with more selection.

Always good food at reasonable prices, and good service never had any issues like last review and been here lots of times...if anything the different dishes are always being topped up quite efficiently. Going back next week. Can't wait☺️

Worst ever hospitality, no sense of manners with no welcoming whatsoever. We went in after calling to make sure of availability and once in she was so rude without even saying hi. Talking to us like we are kids on wearing mask and how to, restaurant was empty in the first place, we don't minds wearing mask at all but is just the way she was talking to us, no respect or welcoming. We walked out straight away, I'm not giving my money to someone who has no manners nor a smile.

5 days agoNEW Well its lucky to get a one star as Id prefer to give non. We googled the place due to just being in the area and the reviews were good "ish". We turned up and got a table right away and there were a few other people or victims inside. We ordered drink 2 cans of coke and a carton of juice £6.20 and had our temperature took with a contactless thermometer being aimed at our ARMS 🤣 When the drinks came the staff member slammed the glasses and cans on the desk as if we had upset them being there. I took our Daughter to the "buffet" while My Partner sat with our Baby Son at the table. The food selection was minimal approx 12 metal containers wich majority were empty but looking at the curry one wich was as good as empty and the sauce looked like it was that cold it was forming a skin on it.. I asked if there was any more food in wich they said it would come soon and told to sit down. While I was at the "buffet" My partner had been speaking to another table who said they waited 30min inbetween plates and it was all cold.. to wich a member of staff told My partner to not talk to the other tables. I went and paid for the drinks just to get out of the place and the staff was trying to say more food was coming but we left.. Ive never seen such a sh1t hole of a chinese restraunt wit such rude staff.. please just STAY AWAY.

Good selection of food. We generally go early when there is plenty of availability.Loads of people call in for a takeaway box and these people do compete at the buffet somewhat with the diners which is a bit of a nuisance

These people are rude and breaking the law. Refused entry for not wearing a mask which is a breach of section 29 (5) (a) of the Equality act 2010. My solicitors will be issuing a writ in the small claims court. They wanted to point some “radar gun” at my 8 year olds head and wanted us to wear masks to our tables and when I explained I am an asthma sufferer with an exemption card he (manager) said he didn’t care and refused to serve us. See you in court very soon

It used to be 5/5 but since the COVID measures started, they serve your food and it's not as practical because you have to keep asking for more meat/chicken as they just want you to get rice and noodles.

Plenty to eat but not the variety that I can get elsewhere. Pleasant proprietor and was clean. Cheap and cheerful.

Food was lovely check the prices though the window prices is very misleading
