Buenasado Argentine Steakhouse - Reading in Reading

Popped in for a work evening meal with that team, the food was very good. However it can be very noisy and was cramped for the large group we had. The staff seemed pretty stressed out and were struggling with our group, it maybe better for a small group

This place is amazing. Great wine list, delicious Argentinian lager, oh and the steak is banging 🙂

Had a booking for 20 people last night and on arrival were told "you only have 2 hours then you have to leave the tables" wow. Took half an hour to even take the order then we were told "we'll just give you some starters rather than you ordering so it's easier for us and quicker"?? Really?? Whilst the food was very good, we didn't even receive it until an hour and a half after arriving! literally as we finished eating we were told there's no time for deserts but we'll give a scoop of ice-cream to the children, then told we had to leave. Awful, rushed service, absolutely no care about the diners or what we actually wanted, they just wanted us to eat and get out. Will never be going back. It was a 30th birthday with some family members travelling a long way to be treated like cattle. If you want a nice relaxed meal don't go here. Better service at McDonald's

Very nice staff and good meat if you order sirloin… do not order rump! They could have more desserts as well. But they are very lovely!

We had a ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive. Worth every penny!!

What an amazing restaurant!! We went for a special occasion and were so impressed with the service and food was the BEST I’ve had. The Lomo steak was out of this world!! Not the cheapest place to eat but you definitely get what you pay for.

We came in for my boyfriends 21st surprise birthday meal and the staff were amazing! The food was so delicious and very very quick service considering we were a table of 20! I can't remember our waiters name (sorry) but they were fab and so friendly to us. Will definitely be back again can't recommend enough, thank you for a lovely evening

This is our favourite steak, if fact we only eat steak here! The service and atmosphere is brilliant too. We just love this place

The both times I have been here have been excellent and the service, food and atmosphere have always been impeccable. I cannot find fault at any point In this establishment and sincerely regret the lack of visits to this fine place.

Great food can’t fault the atmosphere and staff but I didn’t like the £35 service charges on top of my £290 bill , what happened to the customer deciding what tip to leave .

It is a nice place serving good food. I had chorizo as starter and rib eye for main and it was delicious. The meat was very good and well cooked (rare). Maybe a little expensive and tables very close to each other, hence the 4 stars.

Great restaurant. 2nd Visit today & have to say the service was great every time we've been in. Steak cooked to perfection, daughter loved her mash & grilled tomatoes. Desserts are lovely too. Definitely worth a visit

Steak was good, way better than most but not all pubs, good menu choices and prices pretty on par with others. The empanadas were amazing and we wished we hadn't bothered with any of the other starters. Very cramped restaurant although luckily we got a booth but if we hadn't it wouldn't have been as enjoyable. Staff friendly but all a bit rushed, cleared plates whilst some of us were still eating which is a pet peeve. Wouldn't rush back, there's a steak house pub that is far superior out Twyford way for pretty much the same price.

I went there several times when I lived in the area, whem I left in Jan 2025 I had my farewell dinner there. Great as always, reasonable prices. Cocktails are typically a bit too strong for my taste, others will love them. Try the ribeye with truly exceptional mashed potato.

Went for a birthday meal for our son, today. The food and service was 10/10. They even gave a surprise birthday song for him. Just what every 16 year old wants 🤣 Definitely looking forward to going back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our starters (side salad and calamari), and rib eye steaks, triple cooked chunky chips, bernaise sauce, and mushrooms side dish. My husband loved the Argentinian larger. The bill was on the expensive side, but well worth it particularly for a celebration.

We tried it with friends upon recommendation. They have nice wine pairings and the service was friendly. The steaks were also good, but not above average.

One of our favourite steakhouses in Reading, and we’ve visited many times for special occasions. The menu offers good options for those who don’t eat steak, though vegan choices are rather limited. That said, the steak remains the best in town, which is why we keep coming back. In the past, when we’ve celebrated birthdays here, the restaurant has usually provided a small complimentary birthday dessert with a candle if we mentioned it at the time of booking. Unfortunately, this time, for my fiancé’s birthday, this tradition was not upheld, which left us feeling a bit disappointed. Overall, still a great spot for a steak, but we did miss that little extra touch

Wouldn’t go anywhere else for a steak. Marinated Olives delicious! We all had steaks, cooked to perfection with Argentinian beer, larger & wine paired perfectly. Service balanced between professional & fun. Will return as a treat.

Overall rating reduced to two for the awkward moment at the end when who appeared to be the manager decided to approach and check out bill and then the receipts. Didn't see him do that with anyone else in the restaurant which has left a bad taste in my mouth. Ana - amazing service, thank you

Buenasado is a really nice venue located right on the edge of the Oracle shopping centre - it is bolted to the side. But what a venue. When you enter (the door is surprisingly heavy?) you find a darkly decorated and relaxing interior. This has two floors of tables. It has a really nice clean and darkly modern feel. The menu is decent and centred around steak cuts (being a steakhouse…). I chose sirloin 11oz with a side of broccoli. The steak itself was cooked well and tasty however for me there was too much fat. Maybe I’m just fussy but I don’t like lots of chunks of fat on my steak. Note this seems to be a thing with steak houses in the UK as opposed to Dublin where the rump steaks have virtually no fat. Can’t fault the food though. The chunky chips are tasty and deceptively filling. There is a good wine list to choose from. The staff were very friendly, efficient and very good. I will go back. Recommended.

Chateaubriand was great, fries/chips were not. Excellent sauce (peppercorn/blue cheese). I also enjoyed a very nice whiskey sour. Worth a visit.

Amazing hala steak. They have a-lot of halal options, staff were amazing. They told me everything i could have that was halal rather than me asking individually which was nice.

We booked a table at Buenasado to celebrate our wedding anniversary a few days ago and not only the food was outstanding, but what really stood out was the exceptional service from the staff! We should have thought beforehand that it's this time of the year when everyone's out for Christmas parties and venues are packed with noisy crowds, but despite this- Giovanni, the manager of the restaurant, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable for our romantic night out, even offering us an amazing complimentary gift! The staff is as well trained to the highest standards - out waitress Brigita was very professional and attentive despite the busy atmosphere. Excellent hospitality! The food itself was exquisite - perfectly tender medium rare steaks are by far the best in Reading , padroni peppers were a charm! So far one of the best steakhouses in Reading and London area ! Thank you!

Great venue, wonderful staff, nice decor at Christmas time. The burger was bland, bland bland bland. But besides that, had a great time with my friend, I didn't complain about it.

Great restaurant, my son wanted to try some steak so we went here, best steak I’ve bet had, I woke up today not expecting to go to an Argentinian steakhouse, but truly a wonderful experience.

Interesting!! Allergies caused some issues, be it not one of the main notifiable ones. Good shared starter of Provolone cheese bake. Main a pasta dish with prawns and cherry tomatoes was good, but the rare sirloin was at best cool. I went for beef milanese, also cooler than expected. Chips were good. Service was good seeking different sauces to cover off gluten and pepper allergies, let down by delivering one dish with a sauce that they said was inappropriate for the allergies.

First time visiting and really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. We were a large group of nearly 20 people and were not the most 'quiet' after a 'few' drinks. However, the staff were brilliant and 'handled' us brilliantly. Everybody enjoyed their food, and I didn't hear anyone complain about their steak or how it was cooked. All had a great night out, and after being 'booted' out for outstaying our welcome ;-), one of the waiters came outside and called us back! A few of us thought it was because the full bill hadn't been settled - oh no, he insisted we all come back and down a free shot. Thanks for a great night guys and girls. I personally hope to visit again sometime. Was a lovely treat.

we didn’t have a booking, but the host managed to sort us a table for an hour which was great. We orderded 16oz Chateaubriand, 2 sauces and a couple of sides. Came to just under £200 which neither of us were expecting. Seems very pricy for the food. Wouldn’t be in a hurry to come back, didn’t seem great value for money.

Great service , great food , juicy succulent steak and amazing sides and dessert as well. The waiters give great service and probably one of the best spots in Reading

Had a wheelchair user with us definitely not accessible as there was a table of 8 in the way of toilet, had to disturb their meal to move table to gain access 2 times. Asked for well done steak still bleeding, chunky chips undercooked. Server was pointing at us along with the manager made us feel uncomfortable. Table where we were put was completely inadequate for a wheelchair was blocking walk way for other patrons and staff alike had to ask the table behind to stand up to move chair out. Food was not plentiful had about 10 chips.

Had a table booked for 3 on a Tuesday night and it was surprisingly very busy. Initially we were put on a very mediocre table which was next to the bar and a bin, then we were kindly asked to move to another table downstairs so that they could fit a table of 6 in, never mind the fact that we had booked and the 6 either hadn’t booked, or the restaurant had messed up either of the bookings. Anyway we moved to the table downstairs which was very tight and had a cold draft on one side. Never mind the fact that in the process of moving our glasses of wine, the waitress was stood over my head however behind me without no sound, so could not be seen or heard at all, which resulted in me standing up due to the tightness, hitting the whole tray and the drinks spilling onto me and the table next to us. Not the first time we’ve had a bad experience in this restaurant, on a birthday! Such a shame that they constantly overbook the place and shove everyone on top of each other on tightly arranged tables, specially considering how expensive the food is. I will have to say though that the food is amazing however the service is terrible. I got told that it was my fault that the drinks spilt, when we were the ones who got asked to move multiple times from table to table…

A steak house specialised in Argentinian beef, and they are absolutely legit! Ordered their sirloin and rib eye in medium rare, and both were perfectly prepared. Steaks are served in 3 sizes, depending on your appetite. Their peppercorn and mushroom sauces were fantastic, even though the steaks are perfectly fine without them. Selections of wine are impressive. Service was excellent, humorous, and fast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Went here for a Saturday night out.. we reserved before going and was seated straight away , service was quick and staff were attentive. However there was a very loud crowd there, even though people asked to move the waiters didn’t see to this which ruined the experience, It’s quite disappointing despite the fact that we’re all paying customers, we should be able to enjoy a restaurant like this in a respectful environment. Steak was nice and food was fresh..

Enjoyed a great evening here and service was brilliant. Atmosphere was good someone was celebrating birthday even at the late time we dined. The food was good, had the calamari which was nice. Also had the stone bass which wasn't too seasoned. We ate a Buenos aieres beef burger which was nice but the bacon wasn't crispy as described but this was good for me as I don't do cremated. Amazing experience.

We went here for a birthday lunch and had never been before. It's nestled in a corner near the Oracle and I've walked past so many times without noticing it before! Lovely, simple, sleek interiors with friendly staff. It is expensive and quite posh but we never usually do this so we treated ourselves! The food is excellent - the portions are good and the service was speedy! The staff were accomodating of my sensory needs and were attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely consider returning for special occasions! I'd recommend the calamari fritti as a starter (it was light, perfectly seasoned with a gorgeous sauce) and the pappardelle al funghi as a main (creamy, soft as well as flavourful). One downside was the autumn martini - it didn't really taste of much aside from vodka which was a shame for the price. Otherwise, lovely!

Took my mum for lunch and normally she fnds fault in restaurants and the food (as a trainned chef) but Buenasado couldn't be faulted everything was prefect. I had the calamari which was fresh not frozen, mum had the chicken and bacon salad which as you can see is massive, 2 full course's for £20 maybe a 1.50 extra for the beef steak which was cooked to preffection. We will be coming back for dinner and or lunch very soon. Keep up the good work!!

Absolutely fantastic venue, the steake was delicious, cooked to perfection with a beautiful flavour and aroma. The cocktails we well made and not sweet for the sake of it, the bar tender made a really really good old fashioned. The service was flawless. The waiter was attentive and made sure we were happy. The atmosphere was warm and lovely, great lighting. We will be frequenting his place in the future.

Took a customer here and 12 of us dined. All the food was fantastic, seriously good steaks. Great service from the team, I will be back! Good options for chicken and pasta based dishes as well as some salads. Good access for less abled with two floors so no access issues for top floor.

I recently enjoyed a meal at Buenasado with some work colleagues. The food and the service provided by both, Adrian and Diane, was outstanding. The quality of the produce served to us was second to none, particularly the rib-eye steak which was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend for any occasion.

As a lover of steak, this is not said lightly, that this is comfortably in the top 5 steakhouses I have ever eaten at. There is a great range of starters and deserts, either side of some of the most flavorsome steak. Would recommend the Fillet, which is excellent. The service is always spot on, I have been here 4 or 5 times now and nothing but friendly, approachable and attentive each time. Will be back again, and again, and again. Would encourage anyone to give it a try!

Last night, I had the pleasure of celebrating my boyfriend's birthday at Buenasado Argentine Steakhouse - Reading, and I can’t express how wonderful the experience was! From the moment we arrived, the staff, especially Brigita, went above and beyond to make our evening special. They surprised us by seating us at a lovely table with a leather couch without us even asking. The service was attentive and welcoming throughout the night, which really added to the overall atmosphere. As for the food, the breaded beef and medium-rare sirloin steak were absolutely delicious—cooked to perfection and quite filling! To top it all off, they surprised my boyfriend with a delightful scoop of ice cream for his birthday, which we both appreciated immensely. And as if that weren’t enough, when I asked for the bill, they treated us to limoncello shots! It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly made us feel celebrated. Thank you to everyone at Buenasado Argentine Steakhouse - Reading for making this birthday so memorable. We can't wait to return!

Delicious food, excellent staff service and lovely restaurant... we came when it was quiet but still a good atmosphere...

Very noisy. Steak and chips were OK but had to pay extra for vegetables or salad. I had salad and it was full raw onions which I don't eat, which spoilt the rest of the salad. Quite disappointing.

We went for my husbands birthday. We had a couple of entries and the meat sharer plate all delicious. The only thing we did not like was the chocolate cake and Carlos immediately offered us to change it for another dessert. We will definitely go back.

Brilliant! Just lovely - we were a 6pm walk in and were welcomed as friends. Fabulous meal - the best Fillet I have had is some time. Certainly wins over many other ‘chain’ restaurants around here 😉

Really good atmosphere and service was also very attentive and high quality. The steak, sauces and sides here are really high quality, certainly fit for a special occasion. It’s a very discreet restaurant from the outside but they’re serving up brilliant food.

Needed a spot for a nice lunch with a good friend fairly last minute yesterday and these guys had availability. We couldn't fault anything. Friendly staff, great ribeye and a good malbec. Will be back.

My partner and I had a fantastic experience here last night! I mentioned it was our anniversary on the booking and we were treated exceptionally well by staff who wished us a happy anniversary, seated us in a private booth, and gave us a complementary glass of prosecco each! We had the beef empanadas and sirloin steak with fries which were absolutely delicious. Would definitely dine here again and highly recommend for a special occasion!

TLDR: Overall recommended, but skip the dessert to avoid disappointment. I went with my wife on Friday 23 August 2024 to celebrate her birthday. Service was excellent, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The starters (calamari and aubergine escalope) were good, although not amazing. The mains on the other hand were outstanding. My wife had the rib-eye (Ancho), and I had fillet (Lomo). They were both done to perfection. Best steak I've had in a long time. The meat was beautifully soft and juicy. The fries and mash were good and the sauce (chimihurri) complemented the beef very well. We had marinated red pepper and broccoli side dishes. The peppers were good (although not my favourite). The broccoli was really good and the chillies were a welcome addition. We didn't have wine and instead tried an Argentinian beer called Alhambra, and we were glad we did. Nice pint. Given it was a birthday treat we decided to have a dessert. This was a mistake. The desserts were a disappointment. My wife had "home made" banoffee pie, she didn't finish it as it wasn't very good.I had chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream. I ate mine but was distinctly underwhelmed. The cake was firm, borderline stale. Sadly the experience was let down by the desserts. It was surprising given the quality of the main course. We spent £149.85 including £16.65 gratuity. I would visit again, but will skip dessert.

The steak is the tastiest I've ever tasted. Unbelievable taste, but prepared exactly as I asked. The service was incredible as well. The prices are not cheap, but it's worth it. Thank you for my most delicious steak!

We have been coming here for several years as a family and on date nights. Always amazing food and service! We came on my son’s birthday and they made it a truly special occasion! The staff are a credit to the management and the management are just awesome! We will be back really soon! ❤️

I was take to Buenasado, last night for a Meal on my Birthday I had an 11oz Ribeye steak with I have to say was the best steak I've ever had in and around Reading We were a party of 4 and everyone of us said the same I had the crispy calamari to start which was equally as good The staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't do enough to make it a really great experience Worth every penny Excellent food and service, can't fault Thank you
