Went to this tearoom today only to find it’s closed and has been since mid December apparently, it says on here open now, shame because staff were very welcoming and food was good.

We were visiting Thomas Bewick's home at Cherryburn, Mickley and met for a tasty lunch of soup, sandwiches and coffee at Buddies. The food was tasty, service was friendly and very efficient, and the cafe was very relaxing and good for a chat. I strongly recommend Buddies. Great place.

We visited today for lunch …..currently on holiday and staying in the local area. Having stayed previously nearby, we made a conscious effort to make a first time visit to Buddies. We were definitely not disappointed…….thoroughly enjoyed home made corned beef pie with chips, mushy peas and gravy and also a sausage sandwich with a side order of chips and gravy. The chips were particularly tasty, absolutely delicious as was the rest of the well presented food! Staff were so very friendly and welcoming. We just wished we had saved room for their deserts……all home made and looked so very tempting. We will definitely return when we are next staying in the area.

A nearby tearoom we set out to visit was full but we were very lucky to meet some lovely ladies in the car park who recommended Buddies & even let us follow them in our car. We were delighted to find a warm welcoming atmosphere, very friendly staff and delicious food at reasonable prices. We will definitely be back soon and will be recommending it to friends and family.

Such a calming and relaxing cafe. Very spacious and it feels bigger than I remember. I went with my family to have lunch, I had the cornbeef pie as a meal and my god it was the best pie ever. I also had a green tea in a very handy green tea pot. I had a little room for lemon merengue pie and it was delicious. Service was spot on aswell :) Will defiantly return to Buddies Tearoom. Faultless

Called for a light lunch on a rainy day, with my son and daughter; and we were not disappointed. The decor was good, the setting scrupulously clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The scones looked superb and my daughter said her cheese scone was delicious. We will be back!

Whist on a rare trip to local garden centre we passed this pristine looking Tearoom. The idea was just to pop in for a cuppa, when the menu was presented we soon changed our mind and decided to have a late lunch. We were greeted warmly on entering, the ambiance was bright and interesting. The facilities were both spotless and comfortable. The food was excellent, well presented and very appetising. The staff were friendly and efficient, absolutely flawless. It is worth making a detour just to visit as we are guaranteed to do - very soon.

Buddies Tearoom recently opened and with restrictions lifting, very recently opened up their cafe. We came for lunch. Food was fantastic and a great selection of desserts. Really like the decor inside the cafe. Definitely will be back.

So had lunch at Buddies Tearooms today, new business just opened this year for takeaways during lockdown, now open for meals inside. Ordered the veggie burger , home cooked on the premises,it was absolutely delicious, goats cheese peppers portobello mushroom all stacked high, I didn’t want chips so got extra salad. Staff were very helpful and cheery. Place beautifully decorated, I felt welcome and safe as all guidelines were being followed. After burger I was very full but an amazing display of cheesecakes, tower cakes and tray bakes again all cooked on sight. Also licensed so very tempted to have a glass of Prosecco but maybe next time. I will definitely be visiting again. You can book a table by giving them a call and also they are open till 9pm on Friday and Saturdays for drinks , cheese platters etc

This place is a totally fantastic! Do not miss out on the 'Kipper in a Bun'. I wavered, and thought to maybe have a 'Banger in a Bun' although was so glad I went with the Kipper. Perfectly cooked Kippers, Lemon mayonnaise, in a soft white roll eaten on the beach was just divine. Wife's comments were 'That was Lush!'. Great friendly service and all locally sourced delicious produce. Even the coffee was from Holly Island! All in a free car park!

I was recommended the Bari Tea Brewery by a friend and was not disappointed. The range of teas on offer was vast with many interesting flavours! I had the green ginger tea with a scone which was freshly baked and was very tasty! Service was very good and all the staff very friendly.

You have to try afternoon tea here! Likely need to book in advance, we were given a great choice of sandwiches when we booked. On the day, we were seated upstairs right by the window looking over the sea, a fabulous view even on a grey winter afternoon. The food was delicious, more than we could eat though we gave it a good go. Good mix of savoury and sweet, some other afternoon teas elsewhere have too much sweet stuff. Suzanne, the owner, and the staff are so welcoming and helpful, and the cost was so reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

Popped in for a drink after a dog walk (dogs very welcome here) with my husband and daughter. My daughter had a gorgeous and generous milkshake while my husband and I had coffee and tea. The owners are lovely and the cafe was a great, welcoming space with a fun mini ice cream van for the little ones. Our dog was offered a treat (and gladly accepted!) and there was fresh water for him too. We even bought a gift from the lovely selection of gifts and homewards on offer. We didn’t eat but the food looked great and we’ll definitely be back!
