Bucks Bar Trongate in Glasgow City

One of the best places I have eaten in a long time. I had the Chicken on Macaroni and Waffle. Chicken was succulent and Mac + cheese tasted really good. The portion size was plenty and had to take a small break in between to finish it. They had a bluesy rock and regular rock playing (Rolling Stones, CCR and AC/DC) playing which is my kinda thing. Overall, a great experience and will defo be going again.

Great food and lovely service from Amy & Dan/Sam(?) so sorry I've forgotten the servers name but their service will not be forgotten!

If you go try the waffles and chicken with Maple syrup. Amazing and worth the money

Visiting from Canada . We had a brilliant night at the bar in Bucks on the Trongate. The staff were great and friendly . They don’t come much better than Tom and Lauren ( Lauza ) . These 2 definitely know their drinks . We had a great laugh with them . You both equally made the best Caesars ( bloody Mary’s) by the way 😊😊 We will be back for sure . Gerry & Annette 👍

Absolutely lovely meal. We were sat upstairs which was slightly quieter than the main area downstairs. We were asked about allergies as we were being seated which is always a nice touch. We both had the chicken, macaroni and waffles, with a side of the salt and pepper fries. Was absolutely amazing (and very much worth the money as the portion was really big!) All the servers we had were lovely, very attentive and kind. Was £45 for the two of us. Highly recommend and I'll certainly be visiting again :)

It's hard for me to think of better place to eat and drink after whole day of sightseeing in Glasgow. Great quality of the chicken in wings and burger, both taste and spices. Waiters were really nice and helpful, espesialy one with the cigaret earings :P If ever back in Glasgow, for sure I will be back here. Important: make reservation before, can be crowdy in the evening.

Great place where anyone would fit in. Drinks and food after work, delicious and filling. Wasnt brave enough to try the hottest wings.

Stopped in for lunch on a day trip to Glasgow. Our server Ava was lovely,. Our drinks were served straight away, and our express lunch came quickly . The gluten free menu was good and the chicken was delicious. The portions great, and the food tasty. Would recommend. Thank you Ava.

As an Aussie walking through Glasgow City found Bucks Bar, what a fantastic Bar and eatery. The size and quality of the chicken burgers is unbelievable. Staff are happy to serve and ensure your meal meets your expectations with cold beers on a Scottish summer day. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our meal yesterday. I had the buffalo chicken wings and I really think they were the best wings I’ve eaten at a restaurant. Always a winner when you can to the simple thing really well. My wife and kids could finish there chicken as the portions where massive. All in all a really good day out. Would recommend for the family.

Make sure you visit the place hungry. They have a fantastic menu. Great taste. One of the best places to have chicken in the city.

First time in Glasgow, and I was walking around taking in the sites. Saw Bucks and took a quick look at the menu, and figured let's give it a go. Truly blown away by the food. I had the Hot Honey Ranch Burger. It's a large buttermilk chicken breast fried to golden brown. Topped with Sweet Pickles, Hot Honey Ranch, and American Cheese. Got the creamy slaw as the side and a Magners to wash it down. Absolutely worth it! The staff was great. They were friendly and super helpful. The place was really clean too. Plan to go back and try a few other items on the menu. I will say that the portions are a good size, so be ready to eat.

Had an amazing birthday meal there earlier tonight, the food is always perfect and filling, and the staff even better, they're all just so lovely and welcoming and made the whole meal experience so special, many thanks to all of the staff who were there and served us tonight, I wish I had caught their names to thank them personally.here, but I had a wonderful night all thanks to them all.

Called for a table at short notice. Murray was the member of staff who booked and met us on arrival. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. First class service and he was super attentive..drinks food etc. We were sat outside it was a lovely evening and a buzz of folks. Fab evening meal with food being awesome.. husband and daughter had waffles with chicken and said it was amazing, big portions....along with Oreo milkshake...would highly recommend 👌

After the Pride March, me, my sister and niece had loads of delicious chicken and waffles, and the biggest milkshake you have seen. Staff were so friendly, helpful and kind.

This is strictly booking only. 4 times I've tried to walk in from the street and couldn't get a table even though there were empty tables everywhere.

Great choice of hot sauces for your meal

Bucks Bar offer an array of chicken burgers, chicken sides and accompaniments. I definitely recommend the Nashville chicken, which I haven’t dared to go to the highest “hot” level “Double XX”, but the middle “Damn Hot” is pretty ‘damn’ good! Great place for a burger and a beer and is only a short walk from Argyle Street station. I do advise getting the train, or bus, as parking can be difficult to find. Staff were also friendly, attentive and efficient which added to the atmosphere. Great dinner out!

Would definitely eat here again food was delicious and staff really friendly .. only reason I gave 3⭐ for atmosphere it was lunch and quiet which we liked though 🙂

Went here with a couple of friends for a meal before a football match last week.Food was fantastic as was the service,very friendly and attentive staff.When the bill came we were very surprised,excellent value.Good food,great staff,good value.Would recommend.

I love the burgers here! Too delicious. The portions are big, so always go a little hungry. Most people can’t finish what they have ordered but if you are foodie like me, you will finish it then and there because each bite is full of taste. I have tried the classic buttermilk chicken wings and 2-3 burgers. But all upto to the mark.

I don't think so anymore! So I walk around Glasgow for a while and end up in this wonderful place, which is a perfect mix of bar and restaurant! I was greeted immediately at the entrance in a friendly and direct manner, no long back and forth, I was traveling alone and so the waiter organized a perfect seat for me with a view of the street so that I wouldn't get bored. Great selection of beers, cocktails, wines and more. It also describes very well which country the associated product comes from. I ordered a Hot Honey Ranch Burger which had exactly the spiciness I was expecting. In addition, sweet potato fries to give everything a precise rounded finish, I was also asked whether I would like special sauces, ketchup, mayo etc. with them and whether you believe me or not. They put an ENTIRE TUBE on your table! So the question is no longer what do the mayo do in the fries, but rather the fries in the mayo :D. So I was asked again and again whether I was satisfied and whether everything was OK, not intrusive, just exactly as you would like it to be! When asked why I had tears in my eyes, I replied that it wasn't because of the spiciness of the burger, but because of the wonderful roundup that was offered to me here! Atmosphere absolutely enchanting, old school, perfect music, you practically don't want to leave! That's probably why I'm writing such a long review :D Long story short, get in there and try it out for yourself!! Marci out ;)

We went to Bucks bar whilst staying in Glasgow on an Overnighter,my wife had a lovely cocktail,I had a budwieser,the bud was £3 a bottle,brilliant price for the town center,the music was rock(right up my street) a mixed age group of clientèle which showed the appeal of the place,I,d highly recommend the pub,well worth a visit.

Can't recommend this enough food was delicious, service friendly and prices are very reasonable. We will return

Lovely late lunch after an early start shopping trip. Staff were brilliant and patient with my little boy and put the heaters on for us as it torrential rain that day. Food was spot on as always

A few weeks ago, we went to Bucks Bar and although it was packed and fully booked, we were given an option to decline and then another option to wait 40 minutes. This was purely because inside was full due to all the outside tables moving inside. We landed up chatting to some guys outside and the Manager actually came to find us to advise that a table had just opened up. We were so impressed with the Manager, the staff, the food, the service and the floats. Their ladies facilities were absolutely spic, span and really clean too. We have been recommending this place every since. I am so looking forward to returning there soon.

I have been to bucks bar several times but last time visit was not something to the par. Chicken wings smelled bad which made us not feel like ordering much. Also it can be good if they increase the collection of drinks for a lil more better exp.

Been going to the Southside Bucks for while now and it's great and never had any issues, food was equally good here but the staff were a bit rude. They kept reminding us they need the table back and we still had half an hour!

Good atmosphere with the Rock music. Food is great but portions are too big, make sure you go there on an empty stomach.

Buck's bar is one of my favourite places to go to eat in the city centre. It's got a great chilled out atmosphere, the food's always amazing and the staff are always fantastic.

Have been going to Bucks for years now but won't be back after last experience. Got the buffalo wings to share with my partner as we usually do and they were terrible. Really dry chicken and just flavourless. The bones of the wings too were totally black which is a bad sign. I said to the waitor and he apologised as it must have been a bad batch but that was that. Still charged full price. Will need to find somewhere else for our buffalo wing fix.

Great restraunt and bar. Really tasty food and well sized portions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Murray really looked after us and was great.

It's was a Monday night, meal out with work colleagues after a course in Glasgow. Chicken Burger Heaven!! Why is there not a Bucks Bar in Newcastle!! You will not be disappointed with the size of the chicken burger or the portion of chips itself. Service was fast, especially the drinks service. Yes, it was a Monday, but every table had someone on. Burger and Salt n Chilli chip, extra dip and 2 pints = £30 Friendly staff, good food, big portion, good selection of drinks, what's not to like 5stars

Very pricey for what you get, chicken tasted decent but, nothing special for the price. Huge differential in amount of fries. Received a small portion, almost half of skinny fries relative to that of chunky.

Chicken and chips always excellent. My girlfriend just thinks there could be more pickles with the nashville hot chicken but some people are weird like that.

Sat outside here in the tent and was actually warm. I got the gravy train (buttermilk chicken burger with gravy and a hashbrown). I highly recommend this is my 3rd visit to a Bucks and they never disappoint. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

I had The King buttermilk Burger with satay sauce .Really enjoyed it tasty and lip smackin good. The cocktails were awesome also. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We really enjoyed ourselves this will be the third time a one of your venues and will definitely be back.

An excellent fried chicken place, that offers such a variety that makes you question if it will work. Let me tell you that it will. Their hot wing challenge pits 2 people against one another, with the winner getting a bucks bar hat. Although you have to sign a wavier so you don't sue them in the event of death.

Great choice if you are looking for American style food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great pre night out in Glasgow. Staff were super helpful, despite our order coming out wrong this was so quickly rectified (without us having to ask) and the wait on replacement meals was not long at all. Staff were also really helpful with one of our party who is Celiac ensuring she had the correct menu/ meal. Portion size is great value for money. Drinks reasonably priced and good cocktails. Highly recommend a visit!

The food is amazing. From the first bite to the last, I was on cloud nine. Would highly recommend. Had to sit outside though (I mean, it was a Saturday night and there was a constant flow of customers), so didn't really get to experience what the inside has to offer. Nothing wrong with that either, they have heaters outside, which does make all the difference. I'll be thinking about how delicious the food was for a long time. So incredibly satisfying.

Start to finish brilliant. Went in for a quick drink but decided to stay for the food after watching a few gigantic chicken burgers coming out. Staff were attentive and friendly throughout. Food was brought to the table quickly, everything was cooked perfect. Food was absolute class. They clearly have made a few chicken burgers and have now perfected it. My only small criticism would be to make it clearer on the menu that the burgers do come with a side as well. It says it at the top of the menu but we initially missed it. it was this fact that made us order. When we were looking at the menu we thought the price was for the burger alone. Small criticism but overall absolutely brilliant

Bucking hell this place is good. The portion sizes are unreal for what you pay and had a taste to match. The atmosphere is very American but not tacky. My only downside is that the dessert wasn’t very special with a cheesecake that was very soft and weird tasting. Overall this place is well worth the visit for anyone in Glasgow!

Omg, absolutely amazing chicken, milkshakes, puddings and cocktails. Food was excellent, service was super, atmosphere was great. Only thing we found was the music was a wee bit loud. If you have a love of chicken check this place out you won't be disappointed. Let's get Buck'd up!
