Reading some of the negative reviews on here, I was left wondering if there were some other Bryn Glo Tearooms in the area that we didnt know about? Been here loads of times over the years the family have been operating - often with my brood of feral kids (and later, feral grandkids), and the family who run this business have always made us very welcome; we visit Snowdonia a lot, as we live on the Wirral, and we always get a great feed and great service here, at reasonable prices for this area. The woman who appears to run the place only seems to be terse to those born with no sense of humour. I couldnt visit any part of North Wales without making an excuse to call here, and the pizzas, cooked outside in a wood fired oven, are absolutely fantastic. A great place to sit, relax, and eat some good food, and the proprietor's family are refreshingly down to earth and remember you when you revisit. My go-to cafe when camping at Dolgam (which we do often), everyone should visit them and decide for yourself. You wont be disappointed, five stars all day long xx

Popped in for a cup of tea and left 4 or so hours later, Eirian, the owner was friendly and welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere, endless knowledge and advice about the area. Lovely tea and amazing home cooking, if you only visit one tea room while you are in the area call into Bryn Glo. There's ample parking and a beautiful walk from the car park.

Where do you go when you have a mixed family and friends group of all ages. Somewhere relaxed about children and family spread!!! This place was excellent - the pizzas are really lovely and plentiful...and fresh! The atmosphere was relaxed and when one little one kicked off the owner entertained her by giving her the tips saucer to count out and gave her a percentage for being a good girl!!! Tidy bottle of wine and choices of cans/bottles of beer. No rushing you off your table but time for all to relax and have a conversation. Love this place...will be going back regularly with my family and friends!

I visited this evening having heard about the cafe that has an outdoor Pizza oven. So pleased we visited. The cafe itself doesn't look like much, but the traditional surroundings hide a little gem. Fabulous food, freshly cooked, all washed down with a lovely bottle of red. The price was spot on too. We will be back. Thank you!

The welcome was delightful with the owners even moving from where they were to give us a table of the correct size to fit in six of us. We had a look at the menu and a nice chat with the landlady. We then ordered drinks which we received immediately, and soon after ordered three pizzas between four of us, the perfect amount, they were the best home-made pizzas I've ever had, cooked outside in a proper oven. Everyone with us loved it and would 100% go back again, especially for 'the laughs'.

Me hubiera gustado haber llevado. Aparte de la comida, no Pizzas que teníamos era repugnante, huevos y patatas fritas grasientas y tibia, un pedazo de pescado que sabía más de plástico. Caro de plástico. 'Servicio', maleducado mesas pegajosas, asqueroso wc. No te molestes. .

Fancied a pizza and was drawn here due to its impressive curb appeal. Unfortunately the service and food did not match up. My wife asked the lady inside the restaurant what meats were on a pizza, the lady raised her eyebrows, barked "meat" at her, tutted, then started serving somebody behind who had only just walked in. The pizza oven outside was lovely looking, unfortunately the pizzas could have done with staying in for a bit longer...burnt edges and cold middles on both our pizzas, though due to the previous interaction we did not feel comfortable requesting something be done. Waste of money. The food wasnt the only thing that left a bad taste in our mouths.

After climbing Carnedd Moel Siabod from Dolwyddelan, friends and I came here to replenish the fuel tanks before walking back to Dolwyddelan. It might be a basic cafe, tea served with tea bag in a mug & hot water added but for 80p you can't complain. With the tea I had a good slice of good cake, friends shared a pizza and we all enjoyed the place eating outside on the benches. I've been here before & will go again

I was staying with five friends at a local climbing hut, a regular haunt of ours, and having been to the cafe for reasonable pizzas in the past we all decided to eat there on the Sunday evening. On the Sunday morning one of our party called in to check that it would be OK for 6 of us to eat there in the evening and was told that was fine but could we come just after 8pm when it would be a bit quieter. We duly arrived at 8:05pm to be greeted by a closed sign outside. Cafe was still open and serving meals and pizzas so we went in and were abruptly told "We're closed". When I mentioned one of our party had called in and arranged for us to eat there that evening I was rudely told "I don't take bookings". When my friend who had spoken to the person in charge that morning arrived he mentioned to her that he was the one who'd come in that morning and was told "Well we've no pizzas left anyway". As we were leaving to eat elsewhere we saw pizzas coming out of the oven..... Unbelievably rude, bad service and no hint of an apology despite the fact we'd had the courtesy to call in earlier to check all would be OK for the evening!! None of our party are likely to visit this cafe again because of this one incident. I certainly won't be parting with my money here.

The gentleman that greeted us seemed as if he did not want us there...which we found quite odd but he did take our food order, cooked it and presented it to us. The food was just okay. Filled us up and provided some protein. Quaint place as its just a kitchen with a front room but sadly would not go again due to the service.

Very well situated at the foot of Moel Siabod at the south-west outskirts of Capel Curig. We stopped off at Bryn Glo on our return from a very wet walk up to Siabod, and what a lovely place it was. As it was late afternoon we only had tea and cake, but our reception - given that we were dripping all over the place! - was very warm and cheerful. Will definitely be back sometime to sample the home made pizzas!!

I have stopped here twice after scramble on Moel Siabod - once bitten, twice shy you would think but time in between visits caused memory loss. Service very poor, staff look disappointed you called in and not cheap £10 for a pizza with a cup of tea! Seriously folks, if you can hang on another 10-15 mins, head for either Capel Curig or Betys y Coed where seasoned walkers/climbers/hikers can expect a decent welcome. These people do not like outsiders!

We called in here after a day in Caernarfon, we were tempted in by the oven you can see when passing. We were not disappointed,we received a warm welcome and twice the lady came out to see if we were okay. The food whilst not Michelin star was very good and ready within 5 minutes, and very enjoyable to eat outside fresh from a proper oven. I think people need to remember this is a small family cafe not a specialist pizza chain or a top restaurant. Well done to them! See you soon.

We popped in after spending the day walking up Moel Siabod. Our car was parked next to the cafe and we just wanted a quick bite and refreshments. The cake and drinks we had we're actually quite nice and reasonably priced. My main gripe is with the owner who made us feel as though we were really bothering her in ordering some food/ drinks and made us feel quite unwelcome. It took a few minutes to persuade her to take our money. If she were to tweek her attitude it could be quite a reasonable place, may it was just a bad day at the office!

Called here for lunch to be greeted by a female owner / staff who was very hostile, constantly tried to rush us and made us feel very unwelcome - a very uncomfortable experience. We would have gone elsewhere before ordering food but we were rushed to order a drink straight away. Menu very limited - mostly greasy fry-up food and none of the pizza which were supposed to be good here. I ordered scrambled egss on toast with mushrooms - the toast was barely browned and soggy, and the eggs were tasteless and small portion for £3.50. The only good thing was the mushrooms. We will definately NEVER be back here again. Also, the whole place needs a makeover on its scruffy decor. DON'T GO!

We came walking in the area and as we drove past saw the stone baked pizza sign and had to stop. we were not disappointed. We have read the negative reviews on this site and are greatly surprised by the cutting comments made. We do not agree at all. This is a café, not the Ritz hotel so I don't understand why such high expectations were aired as to service and style. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and found a very warm welcome from the owner, a relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful setting - exactly the kind of place one would want to eat after a day on the hill, or indeed in any other moment. My friend who was with me is an Italian chef and so when we saw the sign we could not resist trying the pizzas. It is almost impossible to find a place in Great Britain where stone-baked pizzas are made - many restaurants advertise something similar only to disappoint with a gas-oven replica. As for the pizzas being bought in: the owner immediately stated that the bases were bought which was honest and fair. She did not pretend they were something they are not as she easily could have. However they were tasty and crispy and far better pizzas than we have eaten in many so-called Italian restaurants. One reviewer mentions Pizza Express as an example of better value - we would definitely not agree. We have eaten there several times and, although they have all the benefits of Italian ingredients, specialised chefs to write the menus and a well-known brand, their pizzas have often been inferior to the ones we ate at Bryn Glo. If the reviewers want an authentic stone baked pizza we suggest they try visiting Italy. Food snobbery has no place in a lovely place like Bryn Glo! We would definitely return and will recommend their pizzas to any friends who might visit the area. Reviewers - come down off your high horse, relax and enjoy. Well done to the Bryn Glo family for daring to try something different. If an Italian chef could enjoy it, it's certainly a good sign! Thanks for a great evening.

Just home from a much anticipated visit to bryn glo tea rooms for wood fired pizza! My review will echo that of a previous reviewer. Like them I expected a homemade, somewhat artisan, pizza, but what we encountered was the polar opposite. First impressions were not great as the whole place had the aroma of chip fat and it was only because a) it was cold; and b) I ignored my instincts to turn round and go elsewhere that we stayed. We had to ring a bell for service and the welcome was lukewarm. Had to 'help ourselves' to everything, including the drinks from the fridge and paid up front. Our pizzas arrived very quickly, which I expected from a wood fired oven, but they looked like something from Iceland or Tesco. The bases were dry and were most definitely bought in. The toppings were tasteless and dry. When topping pizzas in a wood fired oven that cooks so quickly it's the owners should bear in mind that the topping has very, very limited time to cook. Whilst my partner finished his pizza I took advantage of he gorgeous view from the veranda and was disgusted to see ashtrays full of cigarette ends lining the window cill outside. We had so looked forward to this place as we often pass it when we come from the mountains and I so wanted it to be a little gem, or even a diamond in the rough. We won't be returning or recommending this place which is a far cry from my ethos of supporting everything local. But I suppose they rely on the one off custom of the visitors to the area. If you want good homemade pizza then head to Conwy Falls near penmachno, just outside Betws y coed! They know how it's done!

We passed this place several times during our stay in the area and were enticed by the idea of stone baked pizzas from a wood fired oven. We had to seat ourselves, collect our own plates, drinks and cutlery and order from the kitchen. Don't get me wrong, I'm no food snob and I whole-heartedly welcome the simplicity and rustic charm that this place was offering - particularly as the Pizzas were to be HOMEMADE in a stonebaked oven. I wonder what this means to the average person. To me, I was expecting a handmade pizza (ie, using handmade pizza dough) with whatever toppings you wanted. Instead, we got what i firmly believe to be manufactured pizza bases (trust me, I'm a baker, I know) with average toppings on. The bases were just about baked, certainly not crispy, not tasty, and perfectly round. If that was homemade, then I'm a monkeys uncle. So, so disappointed. This cafe is really letting themselves down, it is such a massive shame. I wonder if they realise how different (and probably more successful) they'd be if they improved on this. One further thing, pizzas there are about tenner each; bout the same as a Pizza Express but a much poorer cousin so poor value in my opinion.

Came here today Iced Cherry latte was spot on and great. But I think their needs to be a few things that need to rectified 1 . the place needs increased hygiene cleaning for example the toilets they were absolutely horrendous today with someone’s skid marks on them appalling!! 2. The staff members need to stop nagging people to come out of the toilets and not speak to them in a rude manner. If this continues to happen then things are going to kick off and escalate. A change is urgently needed!!! Caffè Nero investigate this and get these problems resolved.
