Came here with a table of ten for lunch on the lunch deal, which is really good value. We had a colleague with a nut allergy that was catered for really well. The food was lovely, however the only slight minus point was that despite doing a pre-order one of our colleagues meals was not available as they had run out during lunch which was a bit disappointing, however they did put custard on the crumbles instead of ice cream as requested which was great. Service was great, Heidi was really personable and looked after us throughout the meal despite us being a big table. She handled the nut allergy and the various changes and additions really well. Thanks Heidi!

Lovely anniversary meal, service and atmosphere was amazing as always. My favorite place to come for any occasion! Mohit was attentive and very polite, he’s a great addition to the Browns family!

Honestly save your money. There are so many better restaurants in Manchester. We went to Brown's after my sons show in Manchester, it was supposed to be a celebration. The food was horrendous, I'd have been better off doing a food shop at Mark's and Spencer or going to a different restaurant. Gutted I spent over £100 on worse food than Mc Donalds.

The atmosphere is absolutely incredible: live paino and singer, and stunning architecture. The service was also amazing - thank you so much Heidi for lovely service and a free desert for our anniversary. You really made you even special thank you! Unfortunately the food was a bit of let down with the chips being too dry and the broccoli and pine nut granola was very hard and not very flavourful. Would definitely come back, just hope the food would be slightly better!

Our first time visiting today and what a surprise it was. Such a lovely bar/restaurant, lush food & our waitress Heidi was great! Live music was also a nice bonus. We will be returning.

This wonderful place's ambiance is one of old class and style. During our stay in Manchester for the CitizenCon we wanted to try a traditional English Breakfast and walked in by accident because we passed by and they had it on the menu. A very nice lady took her time to explain the history of the place (former bank building) to us and served us a very nice and hearty English Breakfast. Definitely would go here again.

Visited Browns Mcr for a meal after our small wedding. Kris looked after us during our visit and we were blown away by her friendliness and attention. She is a real asset to the brand and because of her we will be recommending Browns to our friends and family. Also...the food was great aswell as the decor and ambience. 5* for Kris and Browns Mcr.

Really enjoyed our experience. The food, drinks, service and venue were all so good. Only constructive criticism would be the portion size of the food, we were all felt we could have eaten more or eaten again shortly after. The food was delicious, but a bigger portion would have made it perfect

I had a Sunday lunch here yesterday (Sunday 20th October) and around 6 hours later I became poorly (nausea, sickness and diarrhoea). The food did arrive extremely quickly- around 5 minutes after ordering it and I wish I’d sent it back.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at Browns - Liam was very friendly and attentive.

Very upmarket bar/brasserie in Central Manchester. Went there on strength of quality visits to Brown's in Glasgow and Brighton - we were not disappointed! The Brown's breakfast menu is extensive, upmarket and still value for money. Both manager and staff very friendly, good product knowledge and gently upselling. Toilets are clean, fresh and regularly checked. Ambience of the venue - possibly a bank? - is great. I believe it would be great for cocktails and dinner in evening. Will definitely be back when in Manchester and very happy to recommend to all April 2023 - our third visit here and standard of food, drink and service remain consistently high October 2024 - back again for breakfast and standard of food (portions are great) and service (our server Kris was friendly, professional and attentive) still high. Our only choice for breakfast in Manchester. PS Browns in Brighton and Glasgow also very good and well worth visiting if in town.

My friend from York and myself from North Wales met up for afternoon tea to celebrate our milestone birthdays The whole experience was wonderful. Kriss our waiter couldn't have been more helpful making sure our day was one to remember, nothing was too much trouble ( the photos turned out great as well- thanks Kriss ) x

We enjoyed the private dining experience with Marco as our waiter. We had canapés to start, followed by the three course menu. The food was delicious. There was a nice choice of drinks so our guests all had options they liked. Special thanks to Marco who really went above and beyond to look after our guests & us. Marco is a real asset to the Browns Team.

We came on a Monday, so wasn’t busy, but Heidi was a brilliant waitress was so patient with us as we fussed around with what to order and vouchers we had. She was funny and attentive, perfect waitress :)

Had a very nice evening here. I have coeliacs and thier GF menu is fantastic . Heidi, our server was very friendly and down to earth. Decor is fantastic, we went on a quiet night so not much atmosphere but I’m sure it’s great when busy.

Kris is great , attentive but not intrusive, polite , but not effusively so. Hard grafter, a team mate to many great staff here. Loved the starter duck n plum salad, very refreshing with some black onion seeds to give it zing. Steak n frites a common go to for many , me included. Lemon posset with blueberries 🫐 was light but hit the spot. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Had the traditional breakfast, the sausages had clearly been sat under a heat lamp for quite a while. Totally dried up. Waiter was really nice and the place is beautiful but a bit more attention to the quality of the food would be appreciated

My event was a 60th Birthday meal for my husband. Contact with Browns was efficient and professional. We had a lovely evening and our server was Fern with assistance from the kitchen staff bringing out our meals. Fern was attentive and made sure everything was in order and that no one was without a drink.

We had a private dining for our wedding celebration which was so great, the foods were so tasty and presentable, the decorations of browns is fabulous. The staffs were so helpful I would like to compliment especially Sarah and Marco, Sarah was so kind and helped us to prepare the decorations she provided things as we requested which made me blown away. Marco was so nice and helpful and kind. The service from Browns made our big day special and remarkable

The burger is very special and wonderful The steak was very excellent, and you can order the Striploin Media Rare Simon, which is excellent Unfortunately, the dessert portion was not at the level of the main dishes Unfortunately, the creme brûlée contains a lot of milk and no real vanilla is used The toffee pudding is really excellent

Service was excellent. Professional, friendly polite. Liam was fantastic. Nice atmosphere, enough going on for there to be an atmosphere. But not too loud so you can hold a conversation. Lovely meal.

What a stunningly beautiful building, beautiful polished wood, high ornate ceilings and gorgeous decor. Out food was perfect. Most importantly our waitress was so welcoming, nothing was to much trouble for Kim. What a lovely lady. We will definately be calling again.

The roast dinner was really disappointing. The beef was dry and difficult to eat, the Yorkshire pudding tasted burnt and there was a lack of gravy. However the starters were nice, we ordered the scallops and calamari.

Had afternoon tea today here with my sister. Lovely staff - our waitress was excellent (sorry I didn't get her name). Afternoon Tea was exceptional and beautifully presented 🍰🧁🍹

Starter was great I had the crab crumpet my wife had chorizo prawns. The mains came I had roast cod and my wife had chicken schnitzel , my cod was ok however the vegetables that it was served on were very under seasoned whilst the schnitzel my wife ordered was very plain ( not much finesse) and very dry. I visited the toilet during my visit to find the urinals out of order and toilet cubicles that were available were flooded and covered in urine. When we were given the bill a voluntary 10% service charge was added and when we asked for it to be removed there seemed to be a little confusion to why we wanted it removed? May I add we have visited Browns in other cities and really enjoyed our time in them but sorry this visit wasn’t as good.

Great staff!!! wonderfully simple but very wonderful

I booked a bottomless Champagne brunch for my partner's birthday. The venue is very nice, excluding the men's loos which were a real mess. My issue is that they really aren't setup for "bottomless" drinks. I finished my first glass of champagne then sat for 10 minutes with an empty glass until another glass was presented. During this time, the server was setting up tables, moving chairs, etc. "Unlimited drinks for 90 minutes but at our pace" would be a better description, but admittedly less catchy. We cancelled the bottomless drinks (paying £12.50 for the 4 glasses which was almost the price of an entire bottle but much less). There were only 2 other occupied tables at the time so staff should have been able to cope. Switched to a standard lunch and the food was lovely. However, it wasn't what we were expecting based on previous bottomless brunch experiences. Disappointing.

Only marked down food to 4 because of dessert, brownie doesn't work cooked in singular dish, too thin and very small portion, should be kept as a tray bake. On the plus side our starter and mains were perfect, and so was the atmosphere, so we would definitely return. Liam our server provided a faultless service, and should be commended.

Went as a bday treat with my friend. First of all the decor is absolutely stunning and I was in awe. The Sunday roast was tasty. Was served by Kris who was so attentive and some of the best service I’ve had in Manchester. Felt a like a luxe experience.

Honestly couldn't have picked a better place to attend. I enjoyed every minute. We were served by Kris and it was worth every penny. Excellent service very professional and polite.
