Rebecca was amazing from start to finish, so came to visit on Thursday and had the time of my life more props to her

Absolutely wonderful great customer service very attentive helpful, great sized portions for the hungrier in the group.

We went with a group of 47 persons and it was a great experience! Food, service and hospitality were top! Big compliments for the staff!

Food was really nice, especially liked that the vegetarian portions were a decent size (most restaurants thinker because you're vegetarian you don't eat a lot... Not sure why!). Nicole who served us was really nice, really liked that she didn't rush us when we were being slow to order.

Good food but a bit to busy for a quiet meal. Service did their best with how crowded it was and the food was worth the wait.

Lovely afternoon tea here. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Esther for being helpful in walking us through our first afternoon tea. The tea was good, and there were generous portions of clotted cream. Would definitely recommend coming here!

Had a great late lunch at Brown’s on Tuesday 19/11/24 myself and 3 friends. The food was tasty, hot, and good quality. Our server was Kris who was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The service was excellent

Lovely service by Kris and excellent roast dinner

Went for the bottomless brunch which was £38. Got a bill to for £55 when I asked them to correct the error they took so much time that my Uber outside was threatening to cancel. Then instead of taking off the peach Bellini they charged outside of the bill they ended up adding it on. So I paid £55 for a meal I ate by myself. Ridiculous. They added a service charge on which I would never take off but a simple brunch should not cost that much.

Friendly staff, great service and tasty food. Will be visiting for breakfast again next time we are in Manchester. Would also like to thank Kris for their exceptional service.

Today, I experienced something new, an extra-ordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Brown’s, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in Manchester. I will be returning to Brown’s soon, hungry for more

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my friend who does not visit Manchester often. I chose Browns for her Birthday lunch as I’ve visited many times and thought it would be a nice treat for her. The food was really tasty, the setting lovely but our waitress Kris made the day extra special with her friendly , profession manner. Kris attended to every detail to ensure that our visit was perfect. I hope to be back again soon.

Our server Kris was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. I had chicken skewers and fish pie. My husband had the chicken and chorizo.

We were a large group, 38. The communications prior to the evening was good. I like the pre ordering facility and that each meal came out by the persons name. This made it very simple. The food quality was excellent as were the staff. It would have been helpful to have had a person dedicated to drinks orders but as the bar became quiet it wasn't a big deal to order ourselves. Overall a fabulous evening, thank you to all the staff

Atmosphere is lovely and our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Food was exceptional. The scallop appetizer was to die for and the braised beef was 🤌🏼

Top notch all around! Warmly greeted, amazing service, the staff were great, and the food was phenomenal (especially the Shepherds pie and truffle chips)! First visit there but definitely already looking forward to coming back!

The building, aesthetics, service and drinks were amazing. Kris the waitress, was excellent, attentive, helpful and professional. The food was nice but note worthy; Traditional Breakfast. I’d opt for something different next time, or find somewhere else for a better ‘full English’ like Shloss etc. Over all, lovely moring experience even if the food wasn’t ’stand out’.

Booked online for 4 for a late breakfast. Beautiful building that was once a bank. Comfortable breakfast dining area. The traditional breakfast was excellent, the two avocado and feta breakfasts were really small and only one slice of bread and lacked much avocado and feta. Service was excellent. Toilets are in the basement, they do smell damp and a couple of room diffusers would help. Obviously it’s a listed building so you have to work with what you have. The main dining rooms are stunning.

I have never eaten here but always pop in for a Negroni when I'm in town. I absolutely love the building, the decor, the atmosphere is lovely too and the Negroni is worth the visit

We had a fantastic meal at Browns on Saturday. It was my first time there and I can honestly say that it was the best meal that I have had in Manchester!!! The service was exceptionally good, our server, Heidi, was attentive and just a lovely young lady. The building is beautiful, very classy. Great experience and I can't wait to go again.

We regarly visit Browns in Bristol and were surprised that we could book a table for 5 at short notice on a Saturday in Manchester. When we arrived we realised why; instead of the calm serene atmosphere of the Bristol Browns we were exposed to ear shattering music making it almost impossible to hold a conversation. But it got worse: we ordered a bottle of wine and some nibbles to start before choosing our mains. The nibbles arrived but not the wine. After waiting some time we asked the waitress and received and apology, the wine finally arrived and we were told we would not be charged for the wine. Then the waiteress insisted on checking our grown up grandchilden's age ID - they were 20 - 24 years old! I noticed she did the same with the next table of studens all in their twenties - hardly a hospitable start! But worse was to come; we orded two deserts to share and when the bill came the waitress said she would not charge for the deserts but would charge us for the wine! thus cheating us out of something like £15 from a bill of £148.00! Outrageous! Our ears are still recovering - and Browns Manchester is driving away diners and encouraging bar and disco customers who do not spend and cereate a comparable profit!

I had a really great experience with the two younger bartenders. Made a wonderful Bloody Mary, shared some laughs. The atmosphere could fit a variety of occasions. Would recommend !

Liam our waiter was fantastic. Welcoming, attentive; all whilst very busy with some very big group tables, making sure not to forget our table of 2. Had a few drinks at the bar after and the bar staff were equally as friendly. We got a seafood platter to share for starter and the chateaubriand to share for main. Highly recommend both dishes. We will be back

Liam our server was amazing. He was very attentive, kind and very helpful. We had no issues whatsoever. The food was correct for everyone when it came out (party of 28), the quality of food was excellent and value perfect.The staff who helped arrange the meal prior (Sarah & Alice) were fantastic also. The service was flawless throughout and I can’t thank you enough.

Amazing food, great staff. Unsure what dress code is as some guests were in suits and dresses, whilst others were in joggers and sweatpants. No fault of the establishment at all. Had the chicken and chorizo alongside the crab and prawn linguine. For desserts we ordered the chocolate brownie, the lemon meringue sundae, and the profiteroles. We ordered a wine bottle to share between the two of us. Will definitely be going again for special occasions!

Kris was a very attentive host, and the restaurant had a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. We were staying at the Gotham hotel opposite which had really expensive breakfast so this was a cheaper (yet just as posh) place for breakfast. Plus breakfast was served till 12 so we could eat after checking out.

We had a spontaneous lunch trip and were wonderfully welcomed and served by Kris. Gorgeous food at brilliant value with the lunch special menu. Thanks for everything it was just what we needed!

Recommended by SiL who lives in area. Met for her birthday lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Wonderful service by Kim and Heidi and great food at extremely reasonable prices. So good booked again for Friday for lunch with a friend before returning home over the border.

Fantastic food and the very best service in Manchester.

We called in for a family Sunday dinner at about 4.30pm. It was very quiet, but service was still a little slow although very welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent and good value for money. Will definitely eat here again.

Superb venue. Awesome building inside which I'm told was an old Bank. Busy as it gets when we arrived and took a pre booked booth. Drinks were reasonably priced and the food was of a high standard and a typical higher price than average but enjoyed it, only niggling thing was the quantities, a bit short for hungry people. 100% recommended and we'll be back.

Bar service was a little slow, seemed under staffed for a friday night.

Had dinner here with 2 friends. This is an old bank so very large with very high ceilings. There was a lot of chatter due to how busy it was. There was a piano player and singer who did nothing to enhance the experience. The food was reasonable. The starter I had was crispy goats cheese patty on a bed of salad - could have done with longer preparation as the cheese patty was still hard in parts. The main course was prawn and crab linguine which sadly they drowned in pesto, making that the only thing to taste - left most of this.

Esther was a delight. Great ambassador for Manchester!

Came here with a table of ten for lunch on the lunch deal, which is really good value. We had a colleague with a nut allergy that was catered for really well. The food was lovely, however the only slight minus point was that despite doing a pre-order one of our colleagues meals was not available as they had run out during lunch which was a bit disappointing, however they did put custard on the crumbles instead of ice cream as requested which was great. Service was great, Heidi was really personable and looked after us throughout the meal despite us being a big table. She handled the nut allergy and the various changes and additions really well. Honestly save your money. There are so many better restaurants in Manchester. We went to Brown's after my sons show in Manchester, it was supposed to be a celebration. The food was horrendous, I'd have been better off doing a food shop at Mark's and Spencer or going to a different restaurant. Gutted I spent over £100 on worse food than Mc Donalds.

Our first time visiting today and what a surprise it was. Such a lovely bar/restaurant, lush food & our waitress Heidi was great! Live music was also a nice bonus. We will be returning.

The atmosphere is absolutely incredible: live paino and singer, and stunning architecture. The service was also amazing - thank you so much Heidi for lovely service and a free desert for our anniversary. You really made you even special thank you! Unfortunately the food was a bit of let down with the chips being too dry and the broccoli and pine nut granola was very hard and not very flavourful. Would definitely come back, just hope the food would be slightly better!

Visited Browns Mcr for a meal after our small wedding. Kris looked after us during our visit and we were blown away by her friendliness and attention. She is a real asset to the brand and because of her we will be recommending Browns to our friends and family. Also...the food was great aswell as the decor and ambience. 5* for Kris and Browns Mcr.

This wonderful place's ambiance is one of old class and style. During our stay in Manchester for the CitizenCon we wanted to try a traditional English Breakfast and walked in by accident because we passed by and they had it on the menu. A very nice lady took her time to explain the history of the place (former bank building) to us and served us a very nice and hearty English Breakfast. Definitely would go here again.

I had a Sunday lunch here yesterday (Sunday 20th October) and around 6 hours later I became poorly (nausea, sickness and diarrhoea). The food did arrive extremely quickly- around 5 minutes after ordering it and I wish I’d sent it back.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at Browns - Liam was very friendly and attentive.
