Great little spot we happened across. Food was exceptional! Specials board offered a great selection as did the standard menu. Popped in to grab a quick bite and was not disappointed. I had the farmer browns breakfast and my wife had a stuffed chicken breast, both were delicious and looked amazing. Service was very quick but a little lacking in the personal touches that would have given them a 5*! Will be coming to sample what offers the specials board has to offer again!

We visit here every few weeks and always enjoy the food and friendly environment. Our last visit was very different though, the chef has changed and sadly so has the menu… This place used to offer different breakfasts such as Keto, Farmhouse brunch and other exciting and colourful/beautiful dishes that you wouldn’t find elsewhere. Sadly, this has all gone and has been replaced with a basic menu you can get pretty much anywhere. We noticed a totally different atmosphere this time, many of the usual staff weren’t there and staff that were seemed to wonder around in 2’s a lot. There were 8 people in for breakfast and we waited 40 minutes for our traditional breakfast, which had changed from its usual presentation and has gone up in price. When I questioned the wait I was told our order had not gone through on their new order system. It’s not the end of the world but given the wait I would have expected a free drink or something? Nope, paid in full and left…There have been changes in this place, not for the better unfortunately.

Disappointed :( We have been going to Browns once a month or so for several years, and have always enjoyed our meals. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The food, however, has gone downhill. The menu has changed and has to be stuck to, no changes allowed now. The lovely supergreen brunch that I liked has gone from the menu and as a veggie, there is very little choice now. Decided that only the pancakes were suitable but even those were no longer any good. The pancakes looked shop bought and were cold, they have now adopted a DIY method of emptying little pots and assembling the pancakes yourself :( The pancakes that I cook at home are better than these. We didn't stay long this time and have decided to go elsewhere at the end of the month. It is a shame. The 2 stars are for the staff, (they deserev 5 really) none for the food

Bit of a maze walking from the ancient sliding doors of the Garden Centre negotiating various stalls… (difficult for disabled access ie my mother with her Walker…)… and we first thought the cafe was closed!! Pleasant decor, lively wood burner in the lower, closed off area, and polite staff. Breakfast Bap was very tasty, as was Eggs Florentine (delicious spinach!). Good pot of tea (together, about £22). As another review mentioned, I also had a blue fleck floating in my tea, too!! The food was well presented, although quite slow coming. A regular but sudden Bang Bang came from the desk, possibly someone bashing used coffee granuals out… very loud, and obtrusive. Beware that the toilet means a walk outside across the garden Centre… been like that for years & years, not the best thing. Really should be updated/relocated.

Having used this garden centre in the past with moderate success we chose to have lunch there on Saturday. The coffee had to be returned because there were unidentified tiny flecks of something blue floating in it! To be fair the shepherd's pie was acceptable but the sausage and mash was terrible. The mash was very over salted. The three tiny sausages were thoroughly burnt all over and the gravy was watery and salty. £12.95 seemed very expensive indeed for the quantity that arrived, however since it was virtually inedible that wasn't a problem! I did my best with one sausage, my fellow diner tackled a second but neither of us could face the third burnt offering. A complaint was made at the till and an apology of 'oh I'm sorry' was the best they could manage. A neighbouring diner had also ordered the sausages and finding them as inedible as mine he took the sensible step of returning his plate and asking for an alternative meal.

The healthiest breakfast ever. I have travelled far and wide seeking somewhere that understands and serves heathly food. Never expected to find it in a small cafe in a garden centre. Full marks I only wished I lived closer.

Definitely gone down hill, food was average at best and service was appalling, properly not the fault of the young staff but lack of training. A lot better places to go for Sunday lunch for the money. Such a shame, could be so much more. Bad management.

We called here for bacon sandwiches and coffee. I had a bacon sandwich on granary bread and I would rate it the best bacon sandwich ever. Huge amount of quality bacon, lovely and tender and full of flavour. My wife had the same but on white bread and agreed best ever. The staff are really nice, polite and frendly. Dont miss it!!!!

Eight of us met for a runion - this venue suited us well. We were all served together with our various choices by friendly and happy staff.

I was very disappointed with my breakfast today after not having been for a good while. I ordered eggs benedict which had an overdone brioche bun which was very crispy. And there was bacon instead of ham underneath the eggs. On a plus side the eggs were cooked beautifully which I suppose compensated for the rest. It has made me think twice about visiting again.

Welcoming place for lunch. Friendly staff, tasty freshly cooked food and a good choice too. Looking forward to returning soon

Lovely friendly service, well presented but average tasting food at best. My coronation chicken baguette was rather bland, definitely needs spicing up a little.

This is the second time we have had a roast dinner at this restaurant with a fabulous selection of fresh vegetables. We chose a trio of pudds for our desert, delicious. Very busy restaurant, advise to book a table. We will return.
