Has lost the quality and taste it once had. Pop in a few mo the ago and was pleasantly surprised. This time however it was dreadful. Food was bland and the quality was not what it was when we had visited last time. Seem to have gone for cheaper easier meals which took away the usp for ourselves.

Hi myself plus 3 relatives came here for midday meal, all the staff in Browns were very friendly and instantly we felt welcome, we ordered our food and have to say it was well prepared and tasted very nice, 1 fish and chips, 1 bacon Brie and cranberry panini, and 2 hot dog meals from specials board. Good quality and good quantity well done will definitely make a return visit.

1st visit today and we will be back. Staff were lovely and friendly. Varied menu with something to suit everyone and reasonably priced. Thank you Chef for accommodating my request for a change to my Jacket topping. Mum loved her quiche and salad. Thank you, can't wait to visit again xx

Visited many times for lunch and afternoon tea, but never before for a breakfast. There were signs apologising for a reduced menu, and stating that steps were being taken to make improvements following some recent issues. We chose a traditional breakfast, and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. The food was hot, really well presented, very tasty and good quality - you could tell it was a quality sausage and bacon. Poached egg cooked to perfection. Iced peach tea (which even had frozen cubes of tea in, so not to dilute the flavour). A really delicious breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed. This would have been a 5 star rating, but dropped one star as we were forgotten in the conservatory, so it took quite a while for someone to come and take our order. However, once ordered, the food arrived in good time. We would definitely return here for breakfast

Great little spot we happened across. Food was exceptional! Specials board offered a great selection as did the standard menu. Popped in to grab a quick bite and was not disappointed. I had the farmer browns breakfast and my wife had a stuffed chicken breast, both were delicious and looked amazing. Service was very quick but a little lacking in the personal touches that would have given them a 5*! Will be coming to sample what offers the specials board has to offer again!

Had a lovely cycle ride this morning with 3 girlfriends and stopped at Brown's Garden Centre for a well deserved coffee and cake and met up with other cyclists. We do this quite regularly but today whilst being served the Waitress mentioned this would be our last time - in the New Year they are banning cyclists and walkers - I think she meant in "groups". Disappointing as I always very much enjoyed our visit to Browns - thank goodness other Garden Centres are always pleased to see us.

Called by for light lunch and enjoyed a tasty jacket potato and salad with pot of tea. Was made very welcome despite being a few minutes over the set time for lunch. Had a Sunday lunch here a few months ago and again really enjoyed the food and warm welcome.

This " coffee shop" is really a very good restaurant serving home made food from locally sourced ingredients. It was one just a small cafe but that is a long time ago. I don't understand why there are so TA reviews. We my wife and I have been here for lunch many times. They do a good Sunday lunch and they put a real treat at Christmas time. We visit many restaurants and I have submitted about 100 TA reviews.Today we took our family of four adults and two small children They all enjoyed the traditional Sunday lunch and myself, the vegetarian option. Everyone enjoyed the food and commented on the relaxed atmosphere. The staff here are really helpful and cheerful.

Have lived in the area for years, but ignored Tewkesbury Garden Centre until recently as it seemed rather a small place. In fact, it is deceptively large and includes a wide variety of good quality plants, a good farm shop, garden tools, a garden pond area and Brown's Coffee Shop / Restaurant.Having enjoyed a couple of good lunches during July 2015 (scampi, chips and peas and good old ham, eggs and peas) my lady and I decided to do Sunday lunch on 26 July. We booked a table in advance, which was a good move as the place was nearly full when we arrived for our 1 pm booking. It was a horrible day outside, with heavy rain and wind the order of the day, so we were glad we were there. The lovely, rather harassed young waitress showed us to our table and quite soon took our drinks and lunch order.Due to the inclement weather, we were in no hurry at all, so decided to go for a full, 3-course blow-out. For drinks I chose a large (250 ml) glass of Merlot, and my lady chose a similar sized glass of white house medium dry wine, both at £4.75.My lady went for a good old-fashioned prawn cocktail starter (£5.50), whilst I chose the leek and potato soup (£4.75), which came with a whole baguette and ample butter. The soup was delicious and plentiful (I ignored the bread to make sure there was room for the main course) and my lady was well satisfied with the prawn cocktail. For the main course, my lady went for roast chicken and I chose the roast pork, both at £8.95. Both meals were very good, the portions generous, and a good selection of roast potatoes and vegetables. It was evident, however, that the food had been around for a while, although it was still very palatable. We resolved to go for an earlier booking in future, around midday say, to catch the food a tad fresher maybe. For sweet I managed to force down a fruit trifle and my lady chose a cheesecake, both at £4.95. Finally, excellent Americano coffees at £1.95 each completed our 2-hour, leisurely, relaxed blow-out. And it was still raining outside!!Considering the fact that the restaurant was nearly full, the service was quite good and the waitresses very pleasant but rather busy. Another waitress or two would have been an excellent idea really. We will definitely do Sunday lunch again, and continue doing the odd lunch during the week too!

We ordered two paninis but received half baked baguettes. If the restaurant choose not to use standard paninis I think it should be denoted on the menu. The sides of chips (described as homemade) weren't the standard of homemade we had expected as they were very oily. I asked for some mayonnaise and the dish came out with congealed mayo around the sides and soap suds on the top. I did tell the member of staff about the soapy mayonnaise but she questioned me as if it couldn't possibly be true. Very disappointing and over priced for the lack of quality. We won't be going back.

Sunday Lunch very disappointing. Overcooked meat, leathery Yorkshire puds. At £10 too expensive given the amount of competition around.

This "coffee shop" is a full restaurant owned by a local farming family. The food us prepared to order by a chef who really knows his trade. High quality food, large portions , friendly table service and a large choice of food and drinks. My wife enjoyed sea bass and as a vegetarian, I enjoyed the best cheeses quiche I had ever tasted in a restaurant. Exciting puddings and selection of pure fruit drinks.Just under one mile from the town with large free car park. Open seven days a week.

Have never been to this cafe before, although a regular at the garden centre, it was well recommended for afternoon tea. We went for the "deluxe" tea which gave us a choice of sandwiches, scones and cakes with a pot of tea. When it all arrived I thought perhaps they thought there was 4 of us! Lovely thick freshly made sandwiches, perhaps not as dainty as some afternoon teas, but tasty and generous with crusts removed. The scones were the stars, fresh and warm and not at all dry, generous pots of jam and cream. We couldn't believe the amount of cakes, so lovely to get a big selection. We had a small custard slice, a chocolate brownie and a strawberry meringue each. By this time we were rather full so we did take one cake each home but a box was provided by the waitress. The tea was also nice, in a good big pot which was topped up with hot water and an extra tea bag when we ran out. Staff were lovely and helpful and I would definitely eat here again.

W'eve visited Browns several times now on our visits to Tewkesbury to be honest its a change from the mega garden centre cafe combo's and it shows. As a lover of a full english I can tell you they dont come any better. Its good quality and cooked well. The service is always excellent and the atmosphere good. The restaurant area is well laid out and pristine with an outside seating area when the weather allows. Sometimes you strike it lucky, have to say up to now w'eve never come away from here thinking that the experience wasnt so good 'Its always been good'.

Having heard about Brown's coffee shop we thought we would give it a try. Off we went in our 1954 Sunbeam Talbot, parked in the garden centre grounds and then had a delightful light lunch. The coffee shop was bright and cheerful, everything clean and the staff were welcoming. We would certainly visit again.

As I said I would in October, we returned today for lunch. They have an extensive Sunday menu (also a pretty good one on week days). Today they also had a Christmas menu and my wife enjoyed turkey with all the trimmings and I enjoyed salmon with lots of veg. We both followed with a delicious Christmas pudding and brandy sauce. The mince pies were very tempting but we were just too full! The whole meal was most enjoyable and the food was complimented with really efficient and friendly staff. We paid a total of £26 which we consider really good value when one considers the quality and quantity of the food provided.I would suggest booking a table for Sunday lunch because the place is very popular.

Aftter visiting this place, I could not find it on TA. Didn't realise it was called Browns. Pity because we were so very pleased with the tea and large selection of cakes that I just wanted to say so. Very clean and spacious , good food , efficient and friendly service and open for tea up to 5.0pm when most of the other "tea cafes" in Tewkesbury are closed. Also open every day when at least one well known cafe in the area has such odd timings that we gave up on it. We will go for lunch next time.

We have been a couple of times to the re-vamped Brown's at Tewkesbury Garden Centre for a breakfast and I'm generously giving it two stars as the last two visits were reasonable enough. The main attraction is the free car park and it being en route for us into town shopping but the latest offering of food was embarrassingly inedible - sausages both scorched on the outside and raw on the inside, some peculiar dog treat tasting snappable bacon and fried potatoes that were like tough grey pebbles. There was no excuse for serving it in the first place - had I made it at home I would never have thought it acceptable to take to the table. We did mention to one of the extremely young waitresses that it was pretty grim but she just looked unsure of herself, mumbled sorry and didn't suggest any kind of replacement or reduction. She seemed young and inexperienced and we thought it unfair to get stroppy so we left most of it, paid and left.Tewkesbury is actually beginning to get some great food places - this in my opinion is definitely not one of them and is not so cheap that you think you get what you pay for either. Sorry, but this establishment has plummeted in our opinion to wouldn't touch with a bargepole again status. Anyone can make a genuine mistake but this seemed to be such obviously dreadful food compounded by worse service.

I went to one of the special evening meals with a group of friends. The atmosphere was amazing; everybody in the restaurant had a fantastic time. The food was gorgeous; with a huge selection of starters, mains and desserts (everything we ordered was scrumptious!) and was served hot, fresh and prompt. We had 3 courses for £20 each and the drinks were really reasonable. We were able to bring our own alcohol, which was a plus. I had mushrooms to start (I love mushrooms), steak for main and the TO DIE FOR chocolate and peanut butter cheesecake . We had a wonderful time.

I took my parents to Brown's for our Mother's day meal. I chose this location because I had heard that there was a new chef (Mike) who is fantastic. There was a special menu, which was amazing. For starter I had Pan-fried Garlic Mushrooms with white wine and herbs (so delicious), my mother had Prawn and Avocado Cocktail (she said it was so tasty, with so many lovely sized prawns) and my dad had the Chicken Liver Brandy Pate with red onion marmalade (obviously handade to a very high quality). For mains, my dad and I had the Lamb joint with mint sauce (cooked to perfection and so tasty) and my mum had Pan Fried Salmon with prawn, cucumber and dill butter (the sauce was exceptional and the samon was so fresh). All this was served with a generous portion of potatoes and steamed vegetables, which were served seperately (perfect for my fussy family as we got to pick and choose exactly the amounts that we wanted). For dessert we had Chocolate and Cherry Trifle, Apple, Cinnamon and Sultana Crumble with custard and White Chocolate and Baileys Bread and Butter Pudding! They were all so delicous! And we had all of that, on Mother's day (which is normally a premium price), for £14.95. I really don't know how they can afford to produce such delicious food of such high quality for that price. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated. The drinks were well priced and service was very good. Would definately reccomend it to anybody and we are planning on going back again for Sunday lunch.Only negative was that the toilet was quite far from the restaurant and had to go outside.

My husband and I stopped for lunch at Brown's Coffee Shop, partly because there is adequate free parking, but also we wished to purchase plants. My husband ordered the goulash soup which apparently was very good. I had ordered a bacon and cheese quiche which was accompanied by salad and savoury chips. Although the quiche was only just warm when it arrived, I didn't want to waste time sending it back to be reheated. The taste of the filling was delicious but unfortunately the base of the pastry was not cooked and I felt the temperature of the quiche meant the cooking was not adequate and could have jeopardised healthy eating standards. Half way through our meal I tried to attract the attention of the waitress but to no avail until we had finished - she then asked if everything had been ok, to which I replied it was not. She said she would replace it, but by then we had run out of time. She then offered us a free cake to compensate, and wrapped this up for us to take away. It is a pleasant, convenient cafe but attention to detail should be checked before food is served to customers. One big gripe - having to go out into the open garden centre in order to get to the very cold, basic toilets is not pleasant (especially when it is raining).

Dangerous pub. My brothers and I in our 40s, went to go for a drink. As it was close to closing time we were assailed by two young door men, who by default were preventing people from entering the pub. Their default position was to push customers, escalate, and use agressive language, and throw punches. It ended up in a fight between 3 elderly men, 2 young lads, and about 3 random bar staff. A genuinely horrible, and dangerous place. The door staff are immature, poorly trained, and unskilled in martial arts. I managed to bust a knee tying keep one of the door staff from kicking a 40 years old, father of two in the head. Do not attend if you want any semblance of a sensible and mature night. And to the door staff, you are ruining an otherwise wonderful town, for the sake of your ego and insecurities.
