Went today with the family after a VERY LONG time. I used to visit regularly when living in Wood Green years ago to have their lovely food and Guinness Punch! 💚 Today we tried curry goat and oxtail with rice&peas and coleslaw. We also had some plantain, salt fish fritters and apple crumble. Mains were delicious, the meat was extremely soft and tasty! I enjoyed my Guinness Punch after a long time. We had a nice chat with the people working there and they were very nice and helpful, especially one the gentleman. I am glad we ignored some of the negative reviews and went, because it was well worth it! Thank you and God bless! 🇯🇲

Sensational food. Reminds me food my mama would make and transports me back home 🥹 11/10, anyone who says otherwise is a liar and a cheat 🫶🏾

It’s a shame it’s come to me writing a not so good review. You can’t serve paying customers bun bun & peas ( those who know know). I have been eating at their restaurant since they opened their first shop. However in my opinion the standard of food served by Brown Eagle has dropped significantly. They seem not to care. In the past you could overlook the unpleasant attitude of some of the staff at times, because the food was so tasty. Now the food is mostly tasteless, portion size a joke & of top that you have to deal with the not so nice attitude of staff. Very disappointing. Most of the people writing positive or good reviews nowadays are new to experiencing Caribbean food and have no idea of what it should taste like. I hope the owners take the time to read the reviews and make the much needed changes, to revitalise Brown Eagle back to being a premium Caribbean restaurant.

I always rated the food and service at your Chingford restaurant highly. Very disappointed lately. Two weeks ago I ordered a large curry goat takeaway. When it arrived, it clearly was not a large meal. The portion of meat was extremely small and the quality of meat was poor and made up of grizzle and mainly bones. I know curry goat has bones, which makes it enjoyable, but this was really bad. The meal was also bulked out with a large amount of rice and peas which was also tasteless - no thyme or coconut milk. I could tell a cheap grade of rice was also used. I was planning on driving back with the meal, but let it go and thought give it another go the following week. Ordered the same “LARGE” meal yesterday evening and it was actually worse than the previous one. Wherever your purchasing your goat meat from, you need to stop - it is actually that dreadful. You all need to step up your game, by improving the quality and preparation. I don’t know why you have also cut the size of the portions - it is very noticeable. We are all going through difficult times, but your meals are not cheap and you need to give people good value for their money. I will not be coming back again. When I fancy curry goat again, I will be going to a decent butcher to buy a shoulder or leg of goat and prepare it myself.

I have been visiting this restaurant for years, disappointed that your standards have dropped. I ordered curry goat and rice, the curry’s meat was not normal standard , the meat was tough not sure what meat it was and it was so greasy, dripping in conjured fat- I think they are cost cutting and using lard instead of quality oil. I know times are hard, but you will lose customers if you try and cut corners.

Service was excellent, food was delicious can’t rate it any higher or I would. I am now a regular! Food came out hot, cutlery and plates were clean!!

The food is constantly good. My favourite Caribbean restaurant. Customer service is excellent. Would definitely recommend.

We eat here every week since 4 years now. Every day fresh amazing food, full of flavour and portion is enough to fill my big appetite served by lovely people. I miss eating in tho. I hope soon this madness is over and we can eat around the table again in the restaurant. Thank you for the amazing food and hard work all year around!!!! The food is great ive been coming here for years and it’s definitely my go to Caribbean food. Oxtail is alway on point plenty of gravy when i ask for it. The rice and peas in my opinion is the best. Customer service needs improvement for sure a bit of manners and a smile would go a long way for someone who’s buying food from you but if u get past all that and it doesnt annoy u then u be disappointed with the food.

Food tastes good I won't lie, but spending my money here again is questionable because after all the years and poounds I have spent there the management clearly doesn't respect my money. I ordered a large stewed chicken and rice asking if it was ok to have breast pieces only. I was charged £9.50. The meal costs £7.50. I asked if the price had gone up, I was told no but because I just wanted breast there is a £2 surcharge. I asked why not tell me at point of sale. Also if I hadnt asked for breast but there were only breast pieces to serve me would I be asked to pay extra the answer was no. So you're charging me extra just because. Ridiculous. There was previously a £0.50p surcharge which I paid grudgingly as when I go to Peppers and Spice, Too Sweet or Island Grill the surcharge doesn't exist they either have breast or don't simple. So in future I will continue to patronise those businesses and not Brown Eagle which is a pity as stated earlier I enjoy the food but what I enjoy more is spending my money with those that respect it. Nonsense about breast costs more is just that as in the same way I ask for breast I have friends that ask for leg only. When a whole chicken is chopped up you dont pay for the breast separately. It is nothing more than greed.

Everyone; please make sure you never order from this restaurant! 3 hours wait for food??? come one! huge scam and the restaurant promise and making excuses.

Terrible customer service! Ordered via uber eats and they gave me the wrong order. I called the restaurant and spoke to a gentleman and told him i would even show him the proof of my order vs what they gave but he didnt want to listen or cared to discuss it, was rude and told me to pay more attention to my order next time. I mean who says that to a customer. Lucky i wasn’t at the restaurant. Fair to say i wont order from their again. The Enfield branch is a lot better! Oh and i ordered some wings (x9) and they gave me one that would have been best to throw away as there was no meat on it!

Again I would like to stress this review does not relate to the Brown Eagle in Wood Green but for the Brown Eagle in Chingford and was for a delivered order. The Brown Eagle in Chingford does not appear to be listed on TripAdvisor. Ordered from this restaurant yesterday and whilst the food was tasty and generous in portion they seem to have a serious problem in getting the detail of an order right. This is not the first time that we have ordered from this restaurant and the same thing happened. We ordered coleslaw and a salad to accompany the main meals and although charged for these items, they were not delivered. Also ordered 2 festivals and only 1 delivered. There should really be a checking process before the order leaves the restaurant and this does not appear to be happening which is important because if you order an item and pay for it you should receive it. We ordered this time after a very long while hoping things would have improved but this does not appear to be the case which is a real shame.

Food could of had a bit more flavour, and I found a huge Sharp bone in the food luckily i removed it before I served it to my 5 year old son, I understand that curry goat has a lot of bone in it for flavour but this is just lazy from the chef worst Caribbean in london let alone ends.

The price increase has made it impossible to justify ordering brown eagle again. I think it’s especially worse since they decided to increase the price amid a pandemic (very insensitive, and to me it reflects they don’t really care for there customers). The food standards I believe have dropped, waste of time.

We came here for my sisters 60th. The food was lovely but I don't they coped very well with such a big group. Some of us had finished eating before others even had their food. I will go back but not as a group

I just love their oxtail with rice and peas. I dream of it. Caveats: would be nice if they could do something about little stray bones in the dish. Do be careful, fellow diners. Service: indifferent to semi-surly, but livable.

Brown Eagle se encuentra en Tottenham High Street ya 7 minutos a pie de la estación de White Hart Lane (anteriormente ubicada en White Hart Lane). Como la mayoría de los revisores han señalado, el personal es grosero y no tiene ninguna habilidad para el servicio al cliente. Experimenté esto de primera mano cuando la película adhesiva recibió más atención que mi pedido. No importa de qué raza étnica seas, ya que son groseros con todos. Después de esperar que me sirvieran como de costumbre, pedí una sopa pequeña de guisantes porque me sentía mal. Cuando llegué a casa y lo vertí en mi tazón, me molestó ver que apenas había sopa, como se puede ver en la imagen. Esto es antes de que yo hubiera comido nada. Esto es más como comida dura con salsa sobre ella. Y para colmo fue salado.

La comida suele ser buena, pero en esta ocasión el arroz era duro y la carne era muy dura, lo hubiera pasado por alto, sin embargo, el servicio es DESCONTESTO especialmente de la mujer mayor y la mujer más joven, tan crecida que casi hace la comida en sí mismo poco apetecible.Las "Damas" están totalmente llenas de falta de respeto y actitud hacia sus clientes. Can't say how good their microwaved food is because I stood at the counter for 15 minutes without being acknowledged. They are so rude and unbelievably slow to the point it felt racist. Will never set foot in this place again.

Casero que era fantástica lavada de col con una auténtica bebida crema soda espumoso. El servicio era típico de un restaurante jamaicano, el restaurante estaba bien limpia de olor hermoso. Sin duda una sensación buena sensación después que termine su comida. Recomiendo encarecidamente este increíble restaurante.

He utilizado la madera sucursal verde un par de veces y soy consciente de la baja calidad del servicio al cliente de la mayoría de establecimiento del Caribe con en la industria gastronómica, algo que personalmente yo tratando de combatir. Se empezaba a casi 5:00 así que me di cuenta de la mayoría de los buffet fue aclarado. Finalmente saludó aunque en la tienda después de un buen hotel de 4 minutos. Sí, dijo el caballero del mostrador, que también era tener una conversación en su móvil a través de un conjunto de auriculares y manos libres. Pedí el pollo cocido y arroz, guisantes y una orden de lado de plantin, que llegó a unos 7.50 libras. La misma pregunta de cuándo quieres que se pidió de nuevo que climatizada parece obvio? De todos modos después de pagar mi comida me pidió otro tipo de servilleta con mi comida para que el servidor de forma grosera me dijo: "Ya no tengo más que ver na ya uno aready giv!" sus palabras. A lo que me respondió que sí pero me parece que son inadecuadas y a veces sin mucho aprecio otro que tienes al lado de tu factura. El servidor se volvió muy enojado y comenzó a cuss me en su lengua nativa y dijo soy un hombre grande, usted no debería insistir en tener otro, si no ya te lo dije. De todos modos, para ahorrar espacio lo conseguí mi otra servilleta a nunca perder mi difícil ganar efectivo en este establecimiento. Necesitan entrar en un programa de servicio al cliente que me puede proporcionar a un costo razonable como soy un profesional mayordomo y no necesitas esta actitud desagradable al final de un duro día sólo para algunos de pollo que puedo yo cocinero y un sabor mucho mejor. A couple of visits to have a feel of Carrebean food, found a place very appropriate and good tasty food. My favorite being Oxtail Rice and beans. Good place just up Woodgreen Station.

I have been going to the woodgreen branch for a good 8 years or so and used to go more often before (good old uni days). I will start with the cust service - i actually dont mind it too much as i seem to get this sort of attitude from most caribbean take away spots (peppers & spice, yum yums etc) and have become custom to it almost and to me makes it a bit more authentic as i know at least they are being themselves and not putting on an act. But one of the reviewers was right when they said the guys bless them are alot more helpful and friendly. I usually get large so im happy with the portion size and extra coleslaw for 50-70p who can argue with that (some places charge £2 extra a joke). I prefer the taste to peppers & spice for defo. Would recommend :) tottenham branch is nicer to sit in btw

Había mucha gente en el bar y el servicio no fue bueno. Las raciones de comida eran pequeñas. Creo que hay cosas por mejorar.

Brown eagle is good and bad this coming from a former staff customers are not always right and sometimes you can be a bit more respective towards staffs and staffs should do the same and some staff are 2 face in brown eagle

The rating is for the food because it is tasty.The service is lacking though. You are made to feel like your bothering them for their time?! Replace the "What do you want?!" With a "what can I get you?" Or "how can I help?" + a smile and you will really make a difference!I personally don't go in as much because it is a little intimidating for these reasons.You have good food! Don't be shy with portioning and make people feel welcome and you will go a long way! :-)

Brown eagle sure is falling from beign one of the best take away Caribbean restaurant to a mediocre restaurant with no flavour. The two things that separates them from the rest is rapidly on the decline. First the portion of food, which usef to be surplus is now turning into rations. A small meal use to be sufficient for a single meal now it is meagre potion that does not fill the foundation of your stomach. Secondly, the quality and taste of the food is not consistent and you go in there hoping that the meal you get today would be the taste that you have beign dreaming of all day. The food is too salty and the rice a bit grainy. The now reliant use of MSG...seasoning salt is now obvious...you need to have a bucket of water on standby once you finish your meal. Finally, as for the staff, God help you if you ask them too many questions. Attitude is so bad you wonder why do you still patronise them and don't learn how to cook yourself. The male staff are the only helpful ones.....bless their cotton socks. Common brown eagle you have done well to get this far, don't let this place go down the drain. As a loyal customer for more than 15 years, I am disgruntled and not impressed.

What has happened to Brown Eagle take away food portions . They are no longer generous. I spent £14 on two meals for a friend and I and we were left still hungry. I did not get value for money I was so disappointed . Depending on who serve you the portions could serve me for two days. I think that some of the new servers are pretending to put food in the container. Stop ripping us off.

Have popped into Brown Eagle a few times, and the food is consistently good.Their prices are competitive and they offer a choice of snacks, and meals.

For under $8 had chicken stew with rice, slaw, fruit punch and the seating area was airy. Service was also good. Friends say this is the best of all the locations in London.

Went to eat there on a Saturday nigh around 8pm, it weren't too busy but it took time to be served, however when we was served, the staff that served us was pretty kind and patient seeing as there was 5 of us. Food was excellent but poor selection of drinks and a bit pricey in my opinion. Overall, good place of eat out, staff could be a bit more helpful particularly one. Music in the background was good.

Every time I am in Wood Green I eat here, the ackee, salt fish, fried plantain and steamed white rice is to die for. So also is the fried chicken, jerk chicken rice and peas, green banana, white and yellow yam and potato salad.I always buy extra to take home and freeze and eat at a later date.
