•Since the owner changed and it is now "Sabor Latino" it is worse, on Saturday mornings there are no people to serve breakfast during the school break, it is slow to make 2 coffees, "you have to be able to have breakfast" •Since it changed ownership and it is "Latin flavor" it is worse, on Saturday mornings there are no people serving the school break breakfast, slow to make 2 coffees, "you have to beg to be able to have breakfast"

The food and service have always been good. But today, the food and atmosphere of the restaurant has been totally terrible. Not only was the canteen music too loud at lunchtime, (where families or friends are supposed to go to eat and talk, not sing) but also, the food was raw and poorly prepared. The experience was horrible, the only thing to be grateful for was the good and professional customer service from the waiter Don Óscar, who, in his capacity, helped us try to improve the stay.

Great place for a hearty meal. Make sure to be very hungry when you get there! Good, local Colombian food that's hit or miss with some dishes. Some other reviews mentioned the great empanadas but I found them to be too oily and lacking in flavour. The tostones were good, although if you're not used to eating green plantain, you might find that a bit bland, too. The ripe plantain served with meals was delicious, though. I had the vegetarian meal (see photo) which was tasty and enjoyable except for the little pot of cooked veg in sauce which was extremely oily and too salty, even when mixed with rice. It didn't matter much as I still couldn't finish all my food, even with leaving that aside! I still enjoyed my meal and would come back again, although to try a meatier main meal. My husband had the mini paisa (see photo - the regular sized one was recommended by the waitress to be too much for one person) and it was still a really filling meal that was not easy to finish. The mince meat, pork belly and the sausage were all very, very tasty and I would give them six stars if I could! Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a casual meal with friendly service and a genuine, local Colombian feel. Alcoholic drinks also served here but we did not have any.

Disgusting food, the presentation, nor the desire to eat, a restaurant should take care of the presentation and the seasoning, one looks for something tastier than what is at home, if it's the same, I won't spend the same money for that.

We recently visited this restaurant as a result of glowing online reviews. We commenced with a couple of tapas dishes which were enjoyable; however, the main reason for visiting the restaurant was for their seafood paella. We were extremely disappointed with the paella on several counts - mainly, far too much added salt, insufficient use of saffron for the rice, and no mussels. Could not believe mussels had been omitted as it is a key ingredient for seafood paella;I did raise this issue with our waitress who said nothing but just looked at me blankly. Our first and last visit to the restaurant.

Be careful guys when u go to this restaurant, you need to ask the confirm of the price before you order the food and drink. They charged me 1£ more for the beer 1 pound more for the main course and 1£ more for the starter. Before to pay I asked again for the menu list because I thought I was wrong but not. The service of the waiter it was very poor . She brought me the starter the soup and the main course all together in the same time. I didn’t have time to eat the starter and the main course it was cold already. Horrible service … the manager came to my table and He didn’t even know what it’s good customers service.

I went there with my family and didn’t have a nice experience. The food was quite basic. My mom ordered a fish which didn’t have flavour at all and if you are a true Latino you will know what I am talking about. Furthermore, my chicken fillet was unseasoned too. And just as we were about to finish our food, my mom found a piece of glass in her food. Quite frankly I am a disappointed. The service was decent tho. Just sharing my experience with other people. Went here April 1 2019 with a friend. My Friend had Squid for her starter and I had beef for mine. In both cases the bread was Cassava. The starters were both pretty good but the Cassava Bread was a bit of a let down ( only a little bit though). The mains were good. A well done Sirloin Steak for my friend and Chicken for me. Both mains were cooked beautifully & the portions were huge. The bottle of Rose, though not the best was still very nice. Because we appeared to be a couple the wonderful waitress gave us plenty of space and left us to whatever we wanted to talk about. The toilets were spotless though basic.

It’s a small restaurant with tasty & authentic Spanish/Cuban food. We had the plantain dish & cassva chips for starters with the vegetable paella for the main course. The starters were delicious & the side dip served with both dishes is very tasty. It’s like a guacamole salsa with herbs! Yum! The main was a bit disappointing with not much taste- is was basically rice & vegetables without much other flavour. It was fresh & edible however I would not recommend it due to the lack of flavour. The service was very slow, it’s a small restaurant which also has a fresh bakery at the front. So the waiting staff are usually rushing to/from the bakery & serving the tables in the restaurant at the same time. That said the staff are all very friendly & helpful- Romero served us who was a funny guy with a good sense of humour. The toilets are very basic, not clean & are not maintained often. Everything was in working condition (apart from the hand dryer) but it was quite messy & not nice to see while in a restaurant trying to eat! Overall I would recommend the restaurant for the good authentic Spanish/Cuban food if you’re in the Seven Sisters area. But bear in mind the long waiting time for the food to arrive or to be served.

I had the £14 Columbian "mixed" plate and shouldn't have bothered with a starter, the food was all fresh and tasty. Would go again, but not bother with a starter as the mains were plenty.

Popped in with a friend on a Saturday night and instantly fell in love with the place. The atmosphere made me feel like we were on holiday in Colmbia! We had some squid to start, which was fresh with a lovely light batter and then we shared the most delicious seafood paella. All of this was washed won with two beers and two glasses of red and came to under £50. The service was friendly and the vibe was unfunny with lots of what looked like regulars greeting each other and a genuinely 'local' feel to the place. It's nothing fancy, but it's perfect for well prepared food at reasonable prices. I loved it.

After a while we were taken to the next available table but before seating on the chairs ,the waitress told us that we were going to wait for another 40 minutes for the food to be served and there was not even a chance to eat a starter!! Then we decided to go home instead of eating in this place! I have been visiting lots of Latin American restaurants in London but this one so far is the worst!

El Botellon is one of those unassuming restaurants/cafes that you pass by thinking that it looks a bit too local to visit. If this is the case then I suggest you get over this thought and pay it a visit as you will be surprised by the wholesome Colombian food that is available. Looks can be very deceptive in this case. On arrival we were greeted by a waiter who was very friendly and recommended some dishes. I would say that the menu is very meat and seafood heavy with little real choice for vegetarians or vegans if anything but I suspect that these traditions have not really taken off in Colombia. The restaurant is like a cafe with a dull paint and some amusing pictures. The television is on but no noise can be heard. The restaurant is clean and has a very local vibe with many South Americans visiting during the night. This obviously is a good sign for anyone who is interested in eating the real Colombian food. We ordered two starters. Once was a king prawn in a garlic sauce. The prawns were large and the sauce was delicious. The next was also a prawn dish in a salsa sauce with some fried plantain. Both dishes came with South American crackers which were nice but bread would have been preferable to dip the sauce. Unfortunately they had had a busy day and were all out of bread. The mains were all huge and I wished that I had not eaten lunch at this point. The chicken escalope came with a basic salad of lettuce and tomato lightly covered in a salad sauce, rice to which I added the leftover garlic sauce from the starter, a fried sweet plantain and chips. The breaded escalope was tender inside and was huge. It was a shock to see how big it and the dish itself was. All the dishes we ordered were likewise big and when they gave meat it was a considerable portion. We were stuffed by the end of the meal. We ended the meal with some Colombian coffee and paid a very good price between the four of us. Unfortunately they were out of rice pudding which is supposed to be good. I will definitely be visiting again but next time having no lunch. We left after the owner shared a shot of Colombian spirit. A great ending.

I can't believe this was the same restaurant that got good reviews. 5 of us turned up to eat on a Saturday night at 8. we were the only people in there. Ordered, 3 starters turned up after 10 minutes. The next one turned up 10 minutes later, but was wrong. They took it back. The correct one turned up 15 minutes after that. Another 5 minutes and my wife went to see what had happened to number 5. It was in the kitchen, sitting on the side. So far so unimpressive. The food, by the way, when it did turn up was very poor. I had a tapa of octopus on potatoes. The potatoes were watery, the octopus was rubbery and tasted of slightly rancid fat.We then waited another 40 minutes. We were still the only people in there, when the waiter came and told us that they only had 3 of our 5 orders and would we like something else. By this time we had been in there for an hour and a half. What the hell were they doing???? We got the bill and left. Is this the worst restaurant experience I've ever had? Got top be in my top 5. We know the area very well and had never heard of this place. The food was excellent, decent sized portions and very tasty. A previous reviewer quoted " Mayfair prices". Which Mayfair restaurant sells a decent bottle of red for £12.50. It's a smallish place and not over run with staff. So if you go when it's busy you might have a bit of a wait. Staff very friendly and helpful. The major downside is its location. On a red route with parking control Mon-Sat until 06:30 in neighbouring streets. Also a bus stop directly outside means outside dining is not an option. You can however park in the Tesco down the road. Overall I'd recommend it. Sunday afternoon is best, quiet and unrestricted parking in the side streets

As it was after 7.00pm in the evening managed to find a parking place in a side Road. Not easy, There are a few Tapas Bars around this area, but had never seen this one before. Not very full, nice staff, very helpful, we eat tapas a lot so I know the ropes, but I was very impressed by the portion size. Not small, I know tapas is supposed to be but this was nice. My wife and I took a friend from Ealing to dine at El Botellon last Saturday evening. We ordered the Carne Especial [grilled meat special] as a main course which apparently serves 2 to 3 persons. While waiting we ordered a spicy king prawn tapas starter which came with a serving of bread. The portion was generous - 8 large prawns and the sauce was delicious - quickly mopped up by the bread. We ordered a bottle of house red Spanish wine which was perfectly palatable. When the main course was served, all eyes in the restaurant swivelled to our table - it was ENORMOUS - a huge platter piled high with steaks, lamb chops, meatballs, over a mound of rice and fried potatoes. A second large plate of salad was also set before us. Our friend from Ealing - a big eater and not easily impressed - was astonished. We set to work with gusto, but at least one third remained at the end of the evening, which the staff readily piled into a big container for us to take home. It made another meal for two later in the week. And the bill - £45! Unbelievable value..... Visit this restaurant as soon as you can before they raise prices ....

We had a paella to share and some starters which were ok but the platter to share was extremely small as a sharing meal. Given it's location on Tottenham High Road they need to drop there prices to win more business and offer equal customer service to all it's clientele.

Totally gutted: I have been waiting to go to this restaurant for a while and finally I got the chance tonight. It was immediately apparent that the staff member (note the singular) was overwhelmed. Nevertheless he was very polite and brought us our drinks in a timely manner over our 1hr35min wait for our food. Table after table who had arrived after us were served, but the kicker was when a table arrived, ordered and were served 5 minutes into arriving as we had already pointed out that we had been waiting well over an hour. The food finally arrived, it looked nice I was looking forward to and was absolutely ravenous until my OH cut into a meatball and found it raw and cold . We left, the owner was gracious enough to compliment our drinks which was kind but honestly I was disappointed. I have worked in hospitality and the way we were dealt with was nit great, if you know you have a table waiting, you apologise, explain why, tell them when they can expect there food and apologise again, we had to tell them at 1 hr 25 mins in that this was unacceptable, the waiter knew we were there he obviously just thought because we weren't kicking up that we would be fine. Thankfully we go into the The Beehive just before food closed off and got an amazing (and well cheaper) Meal - next time we'll just go to the Italian san marco at the end of our road

OK it's not as cheap as when it first opened but back then it was ridiculously cheap! It's open until later, has good decor, a very chilled out atmosphere and is a great place to come for something a bit different to the high street and somewhere 'nice' to eat (although even as I write that I don't like it as I love 7 Sisters but you know what I mean)! The Cuban bar is great, the guy is cool and very friendly (God I've forgotten his name). Service was very good and friendly, and its a great place to relax and enjoy tasty, authentic Spanish tapas. The decor could be improved, and this would improve the ambience but if they get more customers, I'm sure they'll be able to do this. Get the word out - Tottenham needs a place like this!!

Just popped in on the way by as the sunny saturday morning reminded us of Spain.A really tasty venison burger with lovely patatas fritas. A side order of spinach was gorgeous and as good as any I have had in Andalucia! Will try it for a meal next time.

Like other Tottenham residents, I also desperately wanted this place to be nice, and all I can say is that "its not bad".The food is good. I'm Spanish and found it to be quite authentic. However, I still wish it had a nicer ambience, which is what most Tottenham places lack. Also, I saw their sign advertising churros for breakfast, so made a point of going there on the weekend, instead of our usual weekend breakfast place (The Garden House, further up on the High Street). At 9:50 they were closed and the lady said they would open in 10 mins, so we went to do some shopping at Tesco. Returned at 10:15 and doors were still closed... oh well, will try some other time.

As a local I'm biased, I really want this place to thrive and as such I've been disappointed to walk past it and see that it often looks empty, now having finally eaten there I can't understand why it isn't more popular. This is a great local restaurant. The food is tasty, authentic and very reasonably priced. We ordered a £15 bottle of presecco and then tucked into 5 tasty and filling plates of tapas for £40. These very affordable prices are perhaps subsidized by their lack of investment in fancy interior decor, it's a little too cafe chic with slightly harsh lighting and plastic table clothes.Perhaps unsurprisingly for a Monday in January the restaurant was pretty quiet but they were holding free Spanish lessons at the bar and the staff seemed very friendly so I can only hope that locals get behind this place, I know I will.

I went here in Jan '14 about 4 months after they first opened. The staff were very attentive, happy to chat and helpful. Food arrived quickly and the tapas portions were large and excellent. Truly the best tapas I have eaten in the UK, very fresh and absolutely delicious. We had the fried sardines, calamari, meat balls and chicken livers. The cocktails were great too, they make a very good mojito. The meals were reasonably priced especially considering the large portion sizes. Four tapas plates was more than two of us could finish. Next time I'm looking forward to trying their paella, which come in two-person servings for around £22. Unfortunately it seems nearly empty most times I walk past, and I do hope more people will start coming here to help it stay open. Sadly Seven Sisters is not known for its fine dining, but hopefully this will change with the help of El Botellon!

So I just finished eating from El Botellon and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! So delicious, I felt I had to tell the world of this experience....I walk in for the first time and a smiling usher welcomes me into the rustic-looking restaurant. I order to take - away and the service is as good as if I had eaten in. I watch as my meal is prepared with such care and passion.I get home and share the meal amongst my family. Seafood paella for me; lamb for my mummy and spaghetti with chorizo for my brother. We eat. We are happy. We don't buy take-away or eat out much as we are quite fussy and each have such different taste-buds. But everyone was satisfied after this meal (although my mum thinks the food was 'good not excellent'. But my brother and I were very impressed). There is something for everyone on the menu. We all enjoyed our meals thoroughly. I will strongly recommend a visit here! I would like to try eating in.Thank you El Botellon - you will surely be seeing me very soon!

Like other Tottenham residents, I was rather excited to see El Botellon open as the area is rather lacking in decent restaurants. We had nine plates of tapas, plus three cocktails and two bottles of wine. This came to 90 pounds, which is pretty good value for money. It's not fancy tapas, but everything was tasty and fresh. The staff were great, no complaints there at all. The restaurant itself is quite big and felt slightly lacking in atmosphere, as there were not many people in that night. But it's a new venture, so give it time. It has a lot of potential. I'd like to have given it 3.5 stars overall, but am not able to, so I rounded up. I really hope that Tottenham locals will support this place. It's a brave move of the proprietors to try starting something decent in an area more famed for its chicken shops. Bravo and I'll definitely be back.

Had some good tapas there a couple of days a go. Good service and excellent wine too. A few pointers on presentation would not go amiss. I think they should stop trying to be high-end gastro and concentrate on the food, get punters in and cultivate a more relaxed atmosphere. But still, good and much needed in the area. Keep it up El Botellon. We need you.

Delicious tapas, reasonably priced wine and v growly service. Decor a bit bizarre, but otherwise divine. Calamares a la Gallega not to be missed.I've been here a few times and never been disappointed by the food.

Like many other reviewers on here, I did get quite excited when I saw a Spanish tapas restaurant opening up near Seven Sisters station. I went to the restaurant (and have been back twice since) and thought the food was great. On the first visit, a man served us who I think may have been the owner, and he was extremely friendly and kind. However, both of the other times we visited we had waitresses who seemed to understand very little English, and when we asked for garlic bread we received nothing for a long while. After enquiring she brought us plain bread. She really couldn't seem to understand the words 'garlic bread', even when we pointed to the menu. Eventually I just asked in Spanish and she understood. I feel like a waitress should really be able to at least understand the menu she is serving, even if she was most polite and apologetic. However, apart from the language barrier, the food was lovely. I love the whole idea of tapas and being able to try a number of different dishes. The garlic bread was made fresh and the garlic was very strong (which is to my liking), whilst my other favourite would probably be the calamares a la Romana. The batter was light and crisp and all in all they were exactly what calamares should be! All the other food was wonderful too, and I don't really have any complaints taste-wise. I would recommend that they expand their desserts menu slightly (although the owner did say he was working on that). This restaurant is usually quite empty- which is generally a bad thing with restaurants- but I think that is reflection on the tastes of Tottenham rather than the restaurant's quality itself. They have live jazz performances on Wednesdays and Sundays now so that is an extra piece of entertainment to add to one's meal. With regards to price, this restaurant was much cheaper than other tapas restaurants I've been to (chains or not), however if you really want to be full you'll have to spend a fair bit. My boyfriend and I usually order 6 dishes between us (after which I am satisfied but not stuffed) and the price ranges from about £3-£5.50 for each dish. That is without drinks or desserts, or any small sides such as olives (these have been given to us for free on one out of the three occasions we visited). So, although cheaper than other tapas restaurants or central London restaurants, it is still more expensive than most other restaurants in Tottenham (but much tastier).

A new restaurant in Tottenham. Like other Tottenham locals I am very keen to support such a venture and like other Tottenham locals, a little disappointed. The atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious. The service was good however the food was not. Each of the six tapas dishes lacked a depth of flavour and authenticity. I enjoyed the clamari, though they were a little rubbery and the deep fried whitebait. The pork was bland though, as were the three vegetable dishes. All served with a dollop of mayonnaise. Shop bought, not home made I suspect. Creme brulee for dessert: Watery custard topped with a thick slab of over burnt bonfire toffee! Not good at all.We will wait a while before going again hoping El Botellon improves in the meantime. If it doesn't it wont survive as more competition arrives in up and coming N15.

Checked out the new tapas place near Seven Sisters. El Botellon. We want to support new local places and not with the strained effort that often accompanies new food in Tottenham. That initial excitement of maybe getting something good followed by the inevitable sigh, resignation and then glare at the 100 chicken shops and kebab places. I have a theory that at around 90% of the worlds chickens end up in Tottenham. The pavements alone must have soaked up a couple of thousand farms worth. Anyway, El Botellon. I so wanted this place to at least look good. New venture. bit of effort. Sadly though first impressions were not that great. Its quite scruffy and not terribly welcoming on the outside. I'd like to say 'and inside was a revelation' but there is plain old wooden furniture and plain walls that have a few holes and shapes from a previous business painted over, apologetically unable to leave. A bar to one side and a few spanish type things dotted around. Its oddly quirky, bare... but clean (clean is a major plus!), it's definitely not trendy or minimal like Blend in Turnpike Lane, it's not ..well, anything really. Just plain and inexpensive. I sort of warmed to this in a way. Or tried to. Honestly plain. We eat out quite a bit and some places (west of the borough shall we say) can be achingly, boringly, groovy. In the long run though, hopefully to guarantee a bit of longevity, a bit of effort would be good in this department. Not too much. Just some. Ok, back to the sitting, eating stuff. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, if strangely surprised to see someone pitch up at 9pm on a Sunday. We were the only people in there for what must have been a good half hour. As we arrived the only people there were leaving. That is not usually a good sign is it? Anyway, lets have the menu and see what we get! All the usual tapas type suspects are here. Which is good. We are veggie so stuck to the sin carne. Didnt have to wait toooo long. Here comes the quite nice bit. Patatas bravas. Pretty good! Crispy potatoes and thick spicy sauce. Some posher places bizarrely don't get this right. Huevos Rancheros (top name!). Again, pretty good. Egg not over cooked and good sauce. Also had a chick pea thing (the name of which escapes me, sorry) that was a little thin and watery but pleasant. Spicy and herby. My son had the cheese plate. Only two types of cheese but have to say both were great. So I also ordered one. Couple of beers and some juice. Our waitress complimented me on my dodgy Spanish pronunciation so a tip was def in order and with that we came away 40 quid lighter. Not cheap but not terrible either. El Botellon? It's ok. I want good. I know there are folk around here who also want good but it's ok. I didn't sigh or notice the chicken shops on the way home. And I really hope it gets good.

Really enjoyed the spicy flavours of the dishes we had - chickpeas & spinach, mushrooms, meat balls, and olives. The wine was really good value for a restaurant. Looking forward to next time!

Having just read other review it seems restaurant took on board suggestions mentioned in it, my tortilla was delicious. Anyway if you are looking for polished west end dining experience perhaps you should then stick to west end but if you are looking for something local with relaxed atmosphere, polite service and decent food then this restaurant is the place to go to. I will definitely be coming back.

Newly opened and just 10 minutes walk from home. Tottenham isn't exactly noted for eating out but when this place opened its doors the other week I thought it would be right to try it out.The decor and surroundings were pleasant. Service when taking my order was good and off to a good start. I ordered four Tapas dishes and a glass of Rioja. Complimentary olives that came with the wine were a pleasant touch. The food dishes came individually, Calamares rings first which was the best of them. What was basically a bruschetta lacked any sort of garlic "kick" to it. Biggest disappointment was Tortilla Español - a small, quite thin affair still quite runny on the inside as well as very warm. Maybe its a different way of cooking it, but what I'm used to in the past is much thicker tortilla that has been allowed to cool down quite a bit before serving. A slight hic-up then occurred when I received a second plate of Calamares, instead of Patas Bravas. However that was soon rectified with an apology. Patas Bravas is another Tapas restaurant staple and was again quite bland with a runny tomato sauce over it. Not spicy at all.Onto dessert and coffee. Again something like Crema Catalana can be really enjoyable, but on this occasion the later of sugar glaze over the custard was thick and almost impossible to cut through.Whilst the menu prices looked reasonable, this was made up by smaller portion sizes. Coming to just under £22, I've done much better with eating out with a group of friends at an alternative, nearby establishment. To be honest next time, it might be best to go there. I really wanted this place to be good, unfortunately I came away disappointed.

Writing this actually makes me sad because I’ve been here 2 times before and the food was banging, but the last time I came in me and my partner experienced really bad food poisoning !! It was absolutely awful. I assume we got a bad batch or something but honestly it’s traumatised me and I can’t see myself coming here again.

Fuimos para una comida rápida. Menú interesante, pero en lugar de tener dos ensaladas nos rajamos un té de menta y un americano. Animado lugar con música bastante alto, muy variadas, principalmente de habla hispana, la clientela. Servicio rápido y eficiente, buena comida a precio excepcional buena, café.

Went today with the family after a VERY LONG time. I used to visit regularly when living in Wood Green years ago to have their lovely food and Guinness Punch! 💚 Today we tried curry goat and oxtail with rice&peas and coleslaw. We also had some plantain, salt fish fritters and apple crumble. Mains were delicious, the meat was extremely soft and tasty! I enjoyed my Guinness Punch after a long time. We had a nice chat with the people working there and they were very nice and helpful, especially one the gentleman. I am glad we ignored some of the negative reviews and went, because it was well worth it! Thank you and God bless! 🇯🇲
