Good fish and chips. We ordered food for a picnic and really enjoyed it. Prawns tempura and large battered cod were really nice. Squid was a bit dry. Will be definitely back if in the area.

Excellent fish and chips. Fresh and cooked to order. Chips were just as I like them- crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Fish was beautifully battered and flaky and fresh. The staff were cheerful, helpful and generous. Already been again and was just as good the second time.

Super polite customer service. Amazingly fresh food with great taste. It might be deep fried but you don't feel it at all. No greasy aftertaste. Always up to cleaning standards and smiles on their faces. Kids love the place, parents too. Visit and enjoy! :)

This chip shop is lovely. My family and I have never had a bad meal from here. The staff are always happy and polite. The food is cooked fresh and the portions are very generous!! The potatoe wedges are definitely worthe a try if you wanted a change from chips and their homemade curry sauce is always on our order !! Keep up the good work and the tasty food !!

I never write reviews but I just had to on this occasion. Firstly the premises is the cleanest fish bar I have ever been to, the owner was really friendly and kind and thee fish and chips were massive portions and absolutely delicious… this will be my go to place from now on

Best local fish and chips by a country mile. Since its opening I'll no longer go anywhere else although there are a couple closer to home. Proper fish and chips, proper portion sizes. Great, friendly customer service by the guys tops it off. It's early days, let's hope they keep it up.

This is now the 4th time I have gone here with the hopes they were having a bad day. We don't have a shop that does chip shop chips in the area other than this one. I have experienced hair in food. Fish still raw and most recently the chips, it wasn't till it was plated up we realised they were overcooked and cold. Then, to be told they can do me a favour and recook my food again. It has gone downhill since it opened. Then, I wanted to walk back up there, and no one wanted to speak to me about the complaint because there were other customers. Update: I have pictures and will be updating them.

Absolutely fabulous customer service, couldn't be nicer. The food is made fresh in front of you, they even gave me a free sample of their potato wedges that were delicious. Hot, fresh food. This will be my local chippy from now on. Portions were good value for the money.

Food is decent. They're friendly but the service is terribly organised and slow as a result. They seem to cook the orders one at a time before moving on to the next. Cod bites and chips has taken 45 mins. Nevermind it's Christmas eve, eaten from here 3 times now and it's always the same. Would be great if they were just faster. One guy waited 20 mins for battered sausage and chips and the sausage was already some

Can’t complain visited late on a Monday evening . Only had a battered. Sausage and chips but was nice enough food . Chips nice and good portion .. fluffy ish but also Slightly crispy ones , tasted like good quality potato. Battered sausage was interesting lovely light crispy batter but almost had a cured/brined meat taste to it. I liked it but defiantly never out of 100’s of battered sausages had one like it . I’d recommend this place the shop looked clean and stuff aswell

After many years we finally have an excellent Fish & Chip shop nearby , truly excellent large portions freshly cooked, and those wedges are moorish and tasty , excellent and friendly staff !!

Best fish and chips by far: Our first time here. We were looking for a fish and chip shop that was open at around 3pm - many don't open until 4. We looked at the ratings and decided to give it a go. We were really impressed. The fish (we like haddock) was cooked for us, hadn't been hanging around under glass and was a very large piece. The chips were perfect, proper chips not skinny ones. We ordered standard size and couldn't eat them all. The food came wrapped up in a box. We had a half an hour drive home and it was still piping hot when we unwrapped them and the food wasn't soggy. Very generous portions, good price for the amazing quality and amount of food. The owner was very welcoming. He cooks all fish to order, so if you need to pick it up at a certain time then we suggest ordering in advance. Lots of other things on the menu, too - burgers, chicken, pies, sausages, halloumi. And they take card payments. Really impressed with everything. This is our new go to fish and chip shop when we get the craving.

I decided to pop in to try this place. Best decision I made that day. The gentlemen there were so kind gave my daughter a lollipop and a wedges sample to try which was amazing my daughter loved it. Food was amazing the curry sauce was to die for. Definitely recommend.

My Lunch was fried from fresh and the chips were excellent but the cod in battered was to greasy and fall apart was ok but as the Cod was fried from fresh very disappointed.

100% recommend and great staff very welcoming and polite and friendly and excellent range of food and definitely recommend them to anyone

Britannia fish bar is the best fish and chip shop in Medway. My daughter loves their potato wedges and battered Mars bars. The food is so tasty and the portions are great for value. We go up there at least a Couple of times a month, they know our order now, as soon as they see us 🤣 Everyone who works there are so friendly and polite, the customer service is fantastic Keep up the great work guys Kirsty 😊

Good food, great guys and always made to feel at home. Since they have opened I haven’t been anywhere else. Cod is cooked to perfection but the potato wedges have to be the hidden gem in this establishment…100% worth a try.

Not bad. Not great. They don't offer much in the way of sizes, only large fillets of standard variety, unless you want a small piece of cod, which I didn't. If they offered a variety of medium sized fillets as well it would be better as I don't need a large portion. Pricey too. My haddock was a bit overcooked and on the dry side. I also found a bone or two in my fillet, which I don't mind but also don't expect. No lemon available either, which I just don't understand. Service was excellent, friendly fellas. And their potato wedge things are really delicious. If I did go back, it would be only for the wedges.

OMG This is the best Chippy that I’ve been too in years. The food is amazing, and mostly cooked fresh. Great portions and value for money. The staff are so friendly and the service is second to none. Staff were very good. Even let us try a sample of food. Gillingham needs a decent fish shop and this is it! Chips were on point! And the fish was flakey and fresh. And always get the southern fried potatoes!!!

The BEST fish and chip in Medway amongst everything else they sell on the menu. Very tasty and a reasonable prices with decent size portions. The staff are all amazing and very friendly at all times. Best Fish and Chip Shop in Medway without a doubt. We live in walderslade and drive past a few other fish and chip shops to get to it. It’s always worth it. The batter is perfect, the fish is always fresh and chips wrapped well so always hot when you get them home. Very friendly staff.

Had a lovely plaice, sausage and chips here the other day. Polite member of staff served us and food was excellent and reasonable price.

Always had fantastic food from this place but on recent order was a let down ordered large fish and chips but when we opened the box of fish there was what looked liked two sml peices of fish put together to look like one big fish it all tasted lovely not greasy and chips same but just a bit of a let down after previous experience x

Not using this place as much as we should, treated ourselves last week to what had to be the best fish and chips ever, testament to how good the food was my teen son hoovered up his food and wanted more. We got served their version of potato wedges and oh my god they are to die for. This place is consistently busy which is good to see.

Very pricey . Waited a good 25 minutes for order, got home and the mushy peas and curry sauce missing from order. Haddock was ok but for £8.95 not worth going again chips nice . Also large chip portion not very large......

I love Rock Salmon ,Huss or Gurnet what ever you want to call it just finished mine from Brittany's best in town.

Walked into a nearly empty Fish and Chip shop and ordered large portion of chips and 2 battered sausages. Chip portion was small and tasted re-fried and the sausages were like bullets! Thought I'd give it a try but won't go there again! Over-priced too.

If I could I wouldn't have given any stars for the food. The chips were old and not very hot. The batter had a strange taste. I only went there as the best chippy in Gillingham was closed PETERS. I will not be returning to Britannia fish bar. Overpriced and bad fish and chips AVOID!!!

Disappointed -- £6.95 for a small piece of cod, as they had no large pieces, this was not cooked fresh so not sure how long this or the 8 or 9 other pieces of fish had been sitting there. Batter not soggy but not that crispy either! £3 for a small portion of chips which were luck warm and no real taste.
