I leave reviews but mostly positive ones , but I really felt instinctively to share my experience at this restaurant. Frankly, it’s just too expensive for Kent. The pricing here is outrageous, and there’s a sense that they’re taking advantage of the local community. Charging for a bread basket is one thing, but not informing us beforehand is another. In every other Turkish restaurant I've been to, the bread basket is complimentary, or ask for a proper bread in the in the menu. Here, they charge you £2.50, which feels incredibly cheeky. And let's talk about the prices—I've eaten at places which were in the more expensive side of the town with higher rents, and they still manage to charge less. For example, £18 for two kebabs and some rice? That’s a stretch, especially when you consider the portion size was nothing to shout about. I’ve had better for less, even in central London! As for the food itself, it was fine, but nothing exceptional. The kunafa was burnt and tasted off, and the virgin mojito was so sugary it was almost undrinkable. A quick mix of syrup and soda—it didn’t even resemble the fresh, tangy drink I was expecting. The worst part was the salad, which came with a hair in it. It was replaced, yes, but really, that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. I’m sorry to say, this place doesn’t live up to the hype. There are better, more reasonably priced Turkish eateries around Chatham. Save your money, folks. This one doesn’t deserve the hype.

The food was good, but they only accept cash and add a service charge, which feels unreasonable. Even small restaurants usually have card payment options these days. I was genuinely surprised to be asked to pay in cash after finishing the meal.

Great place to go to, locally. It is quiet nice since rearranged and with the new look. My suggestions for service to improve even further- keep the food and bread hot, not warm. Half of our food was literally cold. Add in menu dessert kunafe and tea, coffee options. Good luck!

Did not even make it to the restaurant as they have 3 different address listed online. After the 2nd address we went to and realised there is no restaurant we left and went somewhere else instead.

We took their delivery service, Food was warm, Lamb chops were juicy, delicious. Ordered lamb stew, light and flavorful, perfect for this weather! Good portions. Would recommend!! However, didn’t like their dessert! Don’t know the item name though! It was complimentary.

Restaurant only takes cash. No one told us about this until we got our bill. When we asked why no one told us, he said there was a sign downstairs. The sign was about 10cm by 15cm, hung downstairs while we ate on the top floor. Zero apology, zero consideration and merely offered we do a bank transfer. Other than that the service was poor. Had to wait 5 mins for the bill and waited as the waitress restocked the fridge. Food was okay.

Taze rasturant is the best rasturant in the chatham and i enjoy from pida and lahmajon taze rasturant has a good cook i liked and i enjoy thank you taze rasturant.

They got delicious food especially lamb beyti was amazing. I sit upstairs and staff was lovely, up stairs have a good atmosphere. i would be back soon.

Great food,great attentive staff and good value for money

Food here is A* but I paid £32 for the meal in the picture, now I asked for a separate salad which I paid for and just got a large portion (considering I I had a large combination kebab). My wife is a vegetarian so I have to order extra salad you see. It happens ALL the time. To eat in 👍 to take away 👎

Absolutely ridiculous customer service experienced today. Ordered online 3 times before, the same driver has attended 3 times. I waited 1 hour 50 mins for my order and when the driver called to ask where my location was I was baffled and he seemed unsure of location?? The online order clearly show address details? If you can not understand online ordering or it’s difficult to navigate that, then maybe not do it. Last week you forgot part of my order which I called up about. I won’t be ordering from you again it’s more hassle than it’s worth. INRESPONSE TO TAZE REPLY The absolute lie, if there was any abusive language your driver would have refused delivery, and you would not have fulfilled the order. I have a witness in reception who can vouch that. If you lying makes it look better for your business, because it’s embarrassing for you that’s on you. Your driver admitted that you don’t check all details on online order, and told me I should have written my address down twice in the notes box? Your problem & error! Take accountability, taking 1 hour and 50 mins to deliver food is not acceptable and the driver lying he didnt know location considering he has delivered twice before and you are around the corner!?? lol Train yourself on your customer service, its appalling.

Absolutely delicious food and amazing service. This must be the best restaurant in Chatham and in the top tier of Medway. It was recommended to me by an Uber driver and I'll be forever thankful as I've not had such a great experience elsewhere. The starters (hummus, other dips, olive and bread) come for free if you're ordering certain set menus, and everything else is very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be returning!

There was so much food but it was all excellent. The service was a little slow but the poor man was all on his own upstairs for most of the time trying to serve everyone on a busy bank holiday evening.

Really poor in this place. I Order 2 kebabs no extra sauce come out with the main like it use to with added bread on the plates. Asked for another dip got charged £6 for this. Half of my chicken wasn’t cooked I told the staff if they would have bothered to come over and ask how the food was they would see I hadn’t eaten most of the chicken. Said she was busy. Bill came out and was charged for large meals when I didn’t ask for large. To which she was telling me I didn’t state what I wanted which she never asked. Really poor service. Any other restaurant wouldn’t have charged you for raw meat!

Had to give 5* to Taze as they are one of the best restaurants, I've dined at in Chatham. The food is so tasty, fresh and good value for money, with a wide variety of options. The staff are so friendly and attentive, can't fault the service in any way. The general look and atmosphere of the restaurant, is to a higher standard than most restaurants in Chatham, I honestly have had nothing but good experiences whilst dinning here. I will most definitely be a returning customer, and would recommend to everyone to try this place out, as I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Nice place. Was pretty quiet when I visited on a Sunday evening. I had a small kofte kebab which was actually a very nice portion and was very tasty. It came with a portion of bread and a salad.

Firstly, the bread was delicious. The grilled chicken wings were tasty. A few items on the platter could've done with a little more seasoning. But overall was a good meal, and I will definitely be back.

Yilmaz and the team couldn't have been more helpful when arranging and providing lunches for a women's arts project I was running nearby. Everything was fresh, tasty and affordably priced. All the participants went home happy and full saying they'd pay the restaurant a visit individually another time!

Group meals are very much well-priced. Tasty food. In terms of service, it varies. Male waiters are polite. Female waiters not so much. I have visited this place a couple of times with my friends and usually have good experience with male waiters. That one time my partner and I went to just have a quick coffee and kunefe , one female server literally said to our faces “thats the only thing youre ordering???” And her eyebrow was raised too whilst saying those lines.

Food always good.,but The staff must have changed because we were served by an unfriendly woman who didn't let us go to the top floor, she said that the top floor opens only in the evening (although we visit this restaurant often and never had a problem with that, we always managed to go upstairs and didn't have to wait for the evening), but this time it everything was different . But you know that we were disappointed the most! after an hour, the girls came and she allowed them to go upstairs, so the employee lied to us, ... and all the actions took place at 12pm , .

A friend and I had a meal here on a Monday evening. Good service to start off with but we were only half way through our starter when the main course was served. Consequently it was luke warm when we started to eat it. When we finished the waitress told us they only accepted cash which was a bit disturbing. We were told we could walk along the high street to a cash machine. It turns out they do take cards but can't do chip and pin. We felt we had been rushed.

Ordered an £85 delivery for 6:15, attempted food delivery at 2:30 which I refused as was for an evening meal. After calling to check that the order will be freshly done and assured it will be. This was absolutely just kept warm and most of it inedible including the lamb which was just so fatty and chewy and to top it off some of the order missing which they did rectify an hour later. Will definitely not use again nor recommend!

Been using these guys for years and I have to say the take away has gone down hill. Portions have 100% got smaller whilst the price has increased. Foods still great but poor value unfortunately

I'm so glad and grateful for this amazing opportunity to dine at the Taze Restaurant. What striked me the most, was the excellent level of service. The staff was very kind. Food was also splendid.

Visited here on Saturday and sat upstairs. We had starters and main meals and was in and out in 45 mins. The starter came out, which was lovely, then whilst we were still eating, the main came out. My friend still had the fork in her mouth when they took the main plates away at the end. Very quick and felt very rushed. Sadly, that has put us off returning.

My fave Meze in Medway. The team are fab, the best menu. I love it so much, we have been for the past 2 Xmas days too.

We came as a group to eat at Taze and this is really down to the great food and great atmosphere. Even though we arrived with out a booking we was greeted with a nice welcome and the staff was extremely friendly . Especially the lovely lady and the guy that was upstairs was really helpful in explaining the food to us . We will definitely be coming back thank you to all the staff 🙏10/10

Best turkish food in the UK, not exaggerating, almost better than what I had in Istanbul. Meat was all cooked beautifully with a wonderfully smoky taste, bread and dips were amazing too. 👏

First time coming eating here food was really good however we waited a little while before food arrived. One of the waiters, the guy with the pony tail was extremely helpful with explanation and looked after me and my friends. I will definitely be coming back but maybe before busy times

Food is good but atmosphere is not good

Amazing turkish food located at the end of Chatham high street. The food was absolutely top-tier and the meats were just amazing. They had such a smoky flavour which remained even after we took it home as we were unable to finish it all. We ordered the share platter for 4 and it was more then enough food for all of us. Our table was seated fairly close to the table next to us making it feel a little cramped and we only realised at the end of the meal that there was no card payments but other than that it was a divine meal. Very reasonable prices and gorgeous food.

Went to Taze for a birthday iftar as 4 adults, a toder and newborn. We had amazing food and excellent service. Good food portion sizes and the mocktails were delicious. The staff were friendly and the young male waiter in particular (sorry we didn't ask your name) was very approachable and professional. They acommodate children well, provided a high chair if needed and seated us at a more convenient table for space and comfort. Many thanks for making our experience a positive one

Delicious food, but Kunefe is not very good (there is too much cheese)

Today I was in this restaurant. I ordered pilaf and lamb shish kebab, the kebab was very tasty, the meat was so soft and delicately fried that you could eat it with your lips, they also served a green salad and black tea. The cuisine is very good, that’s why there is a constant flow of people there, people were even waiting for a place to sit down, the service is also very good.

Ordered here for years but there is always something wrong with the order Shame coz food is good but defo need to sort out who answers the phone. 👎

Disappointed by my recent visit to Taze, which I chose based on its Trip Advisor ratings. The ambiance felt more akin to a cafe than the upscale Turkish restaurant I anticipated, detracting from the dining experience. The service left much to be desired; our waitress seemed disengaged and uninterested in her role, impacting the overall atmosphere negatively. Culinary-wise, the dishes were mediocre, and a noticeable lapse in service occurred when we were asked to rectify an error with our order by swapping food items amongst ourselves—hardly the standard one expects. Additionally, the absence of butter for the rice, a staple in Turkish cuisine, and the insistence on a peculiar contactless payment limit that contradicted the total bill, only added to the frustration. The only saving grace was food was served relatively quickly. One final thing, there was no parking outside so you need to pay for parking a few minutes away and walk in. In summary, Taze fell short of the high expectations set by previous Turkish dining experiences, both in terms of service and culinary delight.

Poor food, Chicken was very overcooked, possibly recooked. Dry and crusty. Lamb had many gristly tough pieces. The waitress and cook came out after I started my meal to tell me to give half of my lamb portion to my friend as they had not given him enough and me too much. Coffee was only warm. Wouldn't take electronic payments over £100. Not a pleasant experience. Best to avoid this restaurant!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Reallyyyy good service for me I was shocked I’m used to having to wait ages (they had my order ready as soon as I walked in) and the food was so delicious and fresh the Lachmacun(excuse my spelling) did not disappoint Generous portions which match the price. I’m so shocked the place isn’t rammed every weekend because more people need to be at Taze Restaurant. I must order from here again

Great service with a smile, the waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious especially the Pide. Very flavoursome and generous portions. Ordered one slice of cake for dessert and it was huge! Enough for 2 people. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Food was really good and fresh, especially chicken shish, beautifully charcoaled from outside and tender from inside. Service was excellent too. We were offered complementary tea for some polite reason.
