I’ve been getting takeaways from here for 4 years. They had a bit of a wobble during the autumn of last year but I have to say the last few takeaways have been superb. If you’ve not been for a while it’s definitely worth a try again.

We was told the place had improved so gave it another try. It was buffet night on a Wednesday £10.95. Drinks are so expensive, cobra was not cold! White wine was not cold either. Two side dishes were dreadful, Bombay aloo and aloo gobi. Like mush looked like it came out of a tin, not eatable. Sent them back. Lamb madras so poor grainy and odd taste. Over the years like most of us I’ve had lots of Indians so know a good one and a bad one. Service was good, food dreadful. Avoid

Having used this restaurant for many years it’s Always been a great place, but this evening not sure what happened, the food was awful it was greasy and tasteless, apart from the server who brought our food out the other staff were terrible, it was like we were a hinderance to them. We were the only people in there so not like it was busy. When a couple did come in there was no test and trace system up and running, one of the couple were coughing and sneezing most of the time we were there, blowing their nose into the serviette, definitely not what you want to be near in this climate. Not sure how a lime and soda can be the same price as large lemonade but it was!!!!We definitely won’t be going back. Not sure what’s happened but it’s def not the place we have always loved.

If you don't know where to look you could miss this diamond. We eat Indian fairly regularly but it is not often that the standards, taste and quality come this high. The host looked after us and took the covid threat serious with all precautions in place .E had baji's and Samosa after our popadoms which had a better than average accompaniment of sauces. The chefs special biriani was great but the duck tikka masala was the best I have had.We strongly recommend this venue for authentic Indian food. Well done.

My friend and I visited Brinjol last weekend as we both fancied an Indian. Brinjol has no competition around as its the only Indian in the area. I usually like to feel a little comfortable by speaking to restaurant staff first. The reception staff couldn't care less. No smile, no welcome, no sense of service. Only the stand out staff was young Omar who tried his best. Food was delicious, good portion size too. More than average price for each items. No one asked if we enjoyed our food. Hot tissues were thrown at our table. For food, I will definitely give 5 star. For service, I would have deducted 3. But perhaps, they had a bad day hence sticking to 4 stars. To mgt of Brinjol - you have a fantastic chef and Omar was brilliant. But otjers need to be told that visitors go to a restaurant not just for food, but overall service oriented ambience which is missing. Won't be long before it rubs off on your customers. At the moment, this will be my last visit sadly.

Went for family celebratory dinner. Have dined here quite a few times before and enjoyed it, however last night was disappointing on several levels.Mistakes made in taking our order resulting in one person in the party waiting for their starter and then having to eat while everybody else watched. Did give rise to some humour I must admit, however this is never ideal. The food was very ordinary, five different dishes none of which were very exciting. Nothing more than you would expect of your local Take Away. I regret this is not what I am used to at Brinjol and will be thinking long and hard before returning.

I meet here every few years with friends, the previous two times everyone else enjoyed it but I felt I hadn’t made good food choices so tonight I was determined to change that! To be honest I was a bit disappointed that we were going back! The food was so delicious, I totally made good food choices as did my friends, so now I’m going back again in a few weeks with my family, most who have never been before! The food was well cooked, and presented, the service was very good, and we just had a great time! They didn’t used to give containers to take away food that was left, now they do, so when I came back with half my meal that I couldn’t finish as I was so full my family really enjoyed sampling it! Thank you and we will be back before long!!

We decided to have a family get together, seven of us in all. We chose the Brinjol as a few of us have visited and had some good food. We arrived at 7:30 to find the restaurant already fairly busy, and were shown to our table. Had there been the original 9 not 7, it would have been something of a squeeze, certainly not a lot of room. Anyway the poppodums came and went , no problems there, mains came and went as well as a few ice cream desserts. All the food was proclaimed to be very good indeed. He madras I had was on the hotter side, but the chicken moglai was excellent and so was the European Jalfreizi. Pricing was reasonable as well. The only complaint all evening was the service. Or lack of it and speed of t. We waited quite some time to be offered desserts, the mains took an age after the poppudoms. Then I'll came quite smartly though when requested. Overall worth another visit.

I used to rate this place and recommend, food really great and the staff.Last year I had a tandoori mixed grill which comes with a piece of chicken on the bone- the bone had been filleted and then put on my plate as a chicken piece, this was on a banquet day, i was willing to forgive this as it was the banquet, then got charged for a king prawn dish (a supplement is required for King prawn dishes) however this only had one king prawn in it, when discussed with the waiter they did not care about the filleted chicken and charged me full price plus prawn supplement, we waited for very for drinks and only had one the entire 2 hours we qere there during to service. Twice since then I have had bland dishes and bad slow/service. Most recently ordered over the phone, I told the guy what I wanted and repeated it back to him twice then he repeated it to me - could not understand him and honestly thought it was a joke he was having with me, before I got to ask him how long it would be he put the phone down, i got there after 20 minutes and waited 20 more - there was no one in the restaurant. Got my dinner home and it was gross, chicken tasteless, bahjis stodgy and tastless, lettuce and cucumber brown and to top it off I had been charged for a second item I had specified I only wanted one of.

Me and my partner visited here late in the evening, it was around 10.10pm. We asked if they were ok to serve us coz they were closing at 11pm and they said it was fine and welcomed us in. The food and service was appalling. Poppodoms had a strange taste, starters were ok ish. But the main and sides were revolting. They had clearly rushed the cooking and all you could taste was burnt spices which is the most disgusting taste, I couldn't even eat it, just tasted so wrong. I have never had a curry so bad in my life. The service was terrible, the waiter kept pacing around the table which was really uncomfortable. They wouldn't accept my feedback and I even said to try it and they would know what I meant. They would not allow us to have a break between courses, we only wanted 5mins. I told them I would be paying for my curry or the sag aloo as was inedible, they gave us the bill and they had sneakily added £1 on without telling us. The whole experience was awful and I would never go again! Huge waste of money. If they had a issue with us coming in 50mins before closing time why did they not just say when I politely asked at the beginning?

We were staying at the Heart of England Hotal next door and tried the Brinjol this weekend. Overall the experience was average. We had booked in advance and had a warm welcome. Once seated we ordered our drinks and popadums while we selected our choice. The popadums were promptly served but after that we were ignored for a while - I had to hail a waiter to place our order. Not a great start. Our starters arrived - I had Onion Bagees and found these quite bland and not as crispy as my usual Indian on the South Coast. The accompanying condiments included a very vividly green raita - very odd.Our main courses were tasty but not exceptional - overall a pleasant enough visit but not exceptional. Some staff were friendly, happy & smiley. Others looked rather miserable!!!!Food was served in reasonable time even though the restaurant was full. Car parking was limited. We had to park on the main road, a little way away, so I would advise arriving early. The restaurant being full was probably the main reason for the lack of available spaces but this was exacerbated by the fact that the car park is shared by the Chinese takeaway next door. If you want an Indian restaurant with tasty food and good service then this is the place to go. The portions are very generous especially the take away food. The menu has a few chefs specials which seem to be different from the normal run of the mill Indian restaurant food plus they do add different dishes to the menu from time to time. The restaurant it self is a good size with a sitting area by the bar for when you are waiting for your table or to pick up your take away. My criticism with the restaurant it self is that some of the tables are quite close together and the lighting is too bright so you don't get a very intimate atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and welcoming although they are sometimes a little rushed as this is a very popular restaurant and take away.It is essential to book on a Wednesday as this is buffet night and very popular as it is really good value for money; you choose one starter, a main, a vegetable dish and either rice or naan. We usually get a mix of rice and naan as you really do not need both given that the portion sizes are so generous. On non buffet nights it is not cheap but you do get good value for money plus there is a discount for take away food.

Tucked away in a courtyard it is not easy tro find. This Indian resteraunt is one of the best that I have eaten at. Having found it & parked you are greeted by the most polite charming bunch of people who just want to make sure that your visit is going to be memorable. They have a Banquet Night every Wed, which is so popular to the initiated that it gets booked up very early in the week, so make sure you book before the visit. This is a one off day where you get a starter, side dish, main course, with naan or rice of your coice all for just £11.00. The menu choice is huge which is well laid out & described each item. Resist the papodams & chutney as not only does it fill you up but is as all Indian resteraunt regulars know this addtion is expensive. Just order your drinks & await your choice of the selection made, which arrives soon. The starter courses are tasty, filling, plentiful. My suggestion is to choose one of the Chat dishes which comes with salad & i very tasty. There are various choices of fillings which are very well cooked. Make way then for the main & side course with either rice or naan of your choice which is puiping hot & all served individually, with banter & speed. uck into your selection with vigour as you will need it to finish the lot. All this washed down with your Cobra beer is sufficient to stall the biggest of appetites. All the dishes are well cooked & piping hot & delicious. For the lazy one who could not be bothered with choosing from the wide choice a Biriyane usually resolve the problem of choices to be made for the main & side course. Once all this is in the very full tummy there is still the sweet choice (extra to deal) if need be. After the empty pltes are collected hot towels to wipe your greasy fingers are provided with choc mints & single roses for the ladies. The boys also act as gentle men & help you on with the coats & continental style kisses for the ladies. The problem now is to walk to your car & not talk about the good night had by all that evening.

Have now had 4 different dishes, and they all taste the same. It's clear that the same, very tomato-like base is used for every dish. Except the Korma-type dishes; these were all from the same coconut base. We felt rushed; no sooner had we snapped our first popadom and our starters arrived - this theme continued. Tables are squeezed in, the table next to us may as well have joined our conversation. Service is professional, but again rushed - our table clothed was whipped away from under us - we lifted our glasses to allow this. This is by no means poor quality food, it's just not very good. Generally bland and hurried - I'd suggest that this restaurant favours quantity over quality. I'll favour the place in Bugbrooke from now on, who actually deliver.

The Brinjol has been open for a few years now but we haven't really used it. Having something to celebrate, my wife and I walked from our home, about 1.5 miles away, and went to Brinjol. First impressions are very favourable as the reception area is opposite a well stocked bar and you are met almost immediately by a smiley member of staff and led to a table. The service is first class, attentive without being claustrophobic with very professional and jovial waiters. The food is absolutely amazing; we've been to many Indian restaurants and so can speak with some authority - the Brinjol could quite possibly be the best Indian food in the Daventry area. We made a return visit a couple of days later with our children who also loved it.

We hadn't been to Brinjol for a couple of years but we're tempted back by the great TA reviews. We went on a Wed evening when they offer a great value meal deal - starter, main, side dish and rice or nan (selected from the main menu) for £9.95 per head. There were plenty of waiters on duty. Food was very good. Whilst we were amongst the first to arrive by the time we left the restaurant was virtually full, so recommend booking if you want to eat at peak time on a Wednesday at least. Can't speak for other evenings.

After having given this a raving review last time, we went back the next week. Unfortunately it was a different experience. The Chicken Dhansak was very dark and sweet, very different to the one I had last time. Still Ok though. The service was less friendly too. Maybe it was a different chef but the food and service should be more consistent so returning customers get what they expect. I'm surprised to see some very negative reviews here so I guess something needs to be improved.

I am a curry lover and have eaten in curry houses all over the country. This has to be one of the worst for both food and service. On a Monday evening during July we were the only people in the restaurant but the waiter still refused to move us to a bigger table where we would be more comfortable.Having ordered our meal all 3 of us had ordered a karai dish. When the main course arrived it was clearly not karai despite the waiters insistence. Once we tasted it it was obviously korma with a strong coconut flavour.Eventually the waiter agreed to provide us with what we had ordered. It took him less than 2 minutes to return with 3 karai dishes.Sadly even then the food was tasteless and very disappointing.Overall a very disappointing experience for 3 guys who love their curries.

We've used Brinjol for both a bit of a meal out and as a Friday night takeaway and every time it's always been tasty and a good experience. Food is what you can expect from an Indian restaurant, and it's reasonably priced too. The service has been friendly and it's so good to have such a nice place not that far away.

On a recent canal boat holiday we moored up for the night at Weedon. We wandered into the town not sure where to eat. When you first see the signs for Brinjol restaurant you would not necessarily be tempted to try it, but please do. It looks quite small from the outside and when you enter we were surprised by the whole appearance of the restaurant. Very nicely decorated with a good atmosphere. The staff immediately greeted us and took us to a table. The service was very good, the food was excellent and reasonably priced, although we did by chance go on their banquet night which offered excellent value. If you find yourself in Weedon and enjoy Indian food do not miss this restaurant. As with most restaurants if you are a larger group always best to call and book

We had a lovely meal here on the buffet night, when we walked in it was very busy with some big parties and our reserved table wasn't ready, we were asked to take a seat but there wasn't room, we stood by the bar. Our booked table took about 15 minutes to be ready, which was fine, the meal was good, we very much enjoyed it, we did have to grab the waiter as he walked by a couple of times but I think that they were just swamped with the amount of people in there, I would definitely go again. I have seen some reviews from the same night and it seems that a few people were unhappy, we were generally happy and had a good evening.

I have been a regular customer (~ once a month) of Brinjol for two years whilst visiting a supplier with my distributors in Daventry, and enjoyed for the most part the experience (apart from food never particularly spicey to my tastes and stale popadoms)...I revisited Wednesday 15th July, and whilst there seemed to be a couple of big parties down the bottom end of the dining room there were three tables (two 4 seaters and one 2 seater) on the back wall waiting to be cleared.Because I was travelling alone this time I asked for a table for one and the rude waiter (who I had never seen before) simply said 'NO'. I asked how long a table would take to prepare, and I was given the response I could have takeaway. I noticed that two ladies had entered the restaurant just after me, and they were probably going to get 'my' table and that the restaurant was willing to hold out on filling the two 4 seater tables.I find this picking and choosing customers disgusting (especially because I didn't want to eat by myself in my hotel room) so I left to eat elsewhere and in fairness had a much better meal.I will never eat at Brinjol again, neither will my distributors...

Arrived at 20:10 expecting to be seated for our 20:15 reservation, an hour and a half later we were seated at a messy table after being told it was finally ready. This is on top of forgotten and mistaken drink orders. Nothing special food wise either.

Me and my friends came here as a final goodbye before we went on our travels abroad. We were greeted politely, and told our *reserved* table wasn't available. We then waited an hour and a half for our table- just to be seated- after asking for an explanation we were met with aggressive and unapproachable responses. Awful customer service and I still haven't received my food, thank you Brinjol for a memorable send off!

Firstly I didn't realise there was an Indian in Weedon, but wow, what a find. Ok, it's tucked away around the back of the main road but very pleasant once you walk in. The staff were very friendly and took an interest in us.As it was my first visit, I ordered my reference dish, onion bhaji and a chicken Dhansak. The bhaji was delicious but the Dhansak was probably the best I've eaten (this includes some good London Indians). After the recent bad experience at the Spice, Stoke Bruerne, this was a welcome surprise. If I'd known about this place beforehand I would have been prepared to pay for a taxi to go to this little gem.The bill for the two of us was just over £36. 2 Papadums, 1 onion bhaji, 2 mains and 2 pints of larger. Brilliant! Can't wait to go again.
