We went on a Monday hoping for a pasta dish or steak and all they had on the menu were pies or burgers no other options so be aware of that. Felt like they catfished us with the photos on here lol. I had bbq ribs (£15)off the specials menu which was very limited and they were very dry hardly any sauce on them but they did give a lot of ribs tbf. The chips tasted a little burned but the corn on the cob was lovely. Also the venison burgers are just a patty and sauce. The place was okay but if you are going to eat here just be warned that the menu is probably not going to look like the ones online and the pictures of all the different dishes probably won't be available. Place has a very lived in home feel. Also you had to go up to the bar to order but they don't allow you to pay until after you've had food which we thought was a little odd. Anyway, okay overall just don't expect a lot of variety.

Was greeted by a truly unpleasant man behind the bar who I politely approached and asked if he would fill up my water bottle as it was a very hot day. I was rudely refused and treated with what felt like prejudice, I can only imagine was either due to the campervan I pulled up in or my appearance. Despite being nothing but polite, both my partner and I (entering separately) were treated with absolute hostility which made us both feel outraged and angry at the injustice of the situation. I have never been treated so rudely when simply asking for hydration - have no problem with someone refusing me water if they feel like they can't give it, it was the way that we were treated and spoken to that was so nasty. I would not recommend supporting this place.

Staying at a nearby campsite and arrived very late and needed some dinner! This was an excellent service, we phoned up and had food delivered to us at the campsite with drinks. Food is pretty good for a takeaway and we really enjoyed it!! A good choice and great prices. Thanks very much!

Stopped in after a wedding nearby. Two nicely kept real ales and very friendly service. Ordered a smoked haddock fishcake and whitebait. We followed this with a delicious rack of ribs and a steak pie. Thoroughly delicious home cooked food. We would recommend.

Stopped off after a meeting looking for a sandwich. This place looked characterful from the road on closer inspection a few running repairs and splash of paint are needed. Inside the place was homely but looked in need of a very good clean n polish....and paint! No sandwiches so we opted for the Ploughmans. Very eased with the food, neat, well presented and good value for money. Would I stop again maybe if they tidy the place up.

Stoped on the way to Builth for a late lunch. Seven of us were quickly seated and soon after seven roasts appeared. Some had lamb, some had beef and all agreed that it was good. We were offered extra veg which was a nice touch. I'd prefer the gravy to be thicker but that's personal preference. We ordered a selection of puds and they all went down well. Local ale was good and had a chat with some regulars who were all amiable. Nice pub.

Called in for a Sunday lunch, whilst waiting we realised the cleaner must of been sacked over 20 years ago, there were actual cobwebs above our head! When dinner come out things got even worse. The Yorkshire puddings were frozen in the middle, the potatoes and parsnips were not cooked, still hard! The veg looked like it had been rotting for a few weeks before they decided to boil it, the cauliflower cheese was a soggy mess floating in bowl and the meat was awful!! Needless to say we left without touching any of it, this places food hygiene rating of 4 seriously needs reconsidering, would not feed any of it to my dog! Needs a thorough clean and a new chef!! Disgusting!!!

Real Home Cooked food and ideal for a family Sunday lunch to save the time at home. Good food and excellent portion size. None of the modern Gastro Pub stuff just good food in a simple environment. They also serve a good pint of Butty Bach.

My wife and I visited Bridgend Inn on Saturday 21st May, what a busy little pub it is, and what an extensive selection of food they have on the menu. The pub is what you expect from a mid-Wales local pub - so no table cloths, no music, no "gastro-pub" decorations - just WYSIWYG. I imagine this is run by a husband and wife team - and they do very well. The food was good, I had the beef curry and my wife had the cottage pie (with chips) - the servings are very generous. So two meals and three drinks for less than £30 is not bad at all.

My husband and I stopped on our way over to Cardiff.. The lady who was in charge was very welcoming..we ordered our food and drink and sat by the log burner.. My husband's meal was nice I had ordered the sausage and mash.. The sausage's were not the best.. The rest of the meal was okay.. There wasn't a selection of wine..We won't be going back..

Called in last week as we were passing, and it was easy to pull in off the main road. This was a very friendly and welcoming pub. there was a lovely fire going to keep out the cold, and quite a few locals eating, who were obviously regulars, which is always a good sign. We had a lamb and beef dinner, and they came with separate gravies (hurrah) and delicious yorkshire puddings. The roast potatoes and parsnips were obviously straight out of the oven, and the other veg came separately, and included carrots, sprouts, cabbage, peas, mashed swede, & cauliflower cheese ( fabulous on it's own). The veg all appeared freshly prepared, not frozen or canned veg. It was a joy to eat, and we will be making sure we are passing again at Sunday lunch time very soon.

Not friendly, can't cook, girlfriend had slop of a curry out of a packet and i had the worst steak i have ever seen. Have no idea how anyone could get a steak so wrong, perhaps baked or microwaved? Of course had to pay in advance, can see why, do as the locals do and avoid!

Called in on spec one recent lunchtime, to find a very quiet pub, with only two other customers eating. The menu however looked good and they had curry on the specials board, so we decided to order. The meals were OK, sitting somewhere between a supermarket curry and one you might pick up from a decent Indian takeaway, but in truth we wouldn't rush to return.

What a dark and dingy place this is! It's pitch dark in there! As I went in for a drink a man came out and asked me if I had a torch! On buying a pint I understood what he was on about, you don't need a torch you need a SEARCHLIGHT! IN MY 73 YEARS IVE NEVER BEEN IN SUCH A DARK PLACE! Like most people my age I have fading eyesight, doesn't the Owner realise this or doesn't he/she care? On going to the toilet I banged my head on a low beam, good job I have a good head of hair or i'd have had a nasty bump on my head! I am considering contacting Powys Health and Safety re - the matter. A man with a sore head!

Lovely ancient pub which has retained plenty of character. Many items of interest on the walls. The first room after the entrance is the most charming, where we enjoyed a lunch of faggots, burgers and salads, washed down with the local ale. No recorded music: congratulations! Lunch for three including drinks was a reasonable £62.65.

Not regarding the store but the Store Manager (if that's what you can call her) She's extremely prejudice towards people who are neurodivergent. This may seem bias but ask yourself why do staff keep leaving? Is it because they are expected to start early and finish late but not paid for it? Or is it that, they don't give out breaks so when you ask, she'd shocked and hurt by the message regarding it? Or maybe it's the constant persistence in calling neurodivergent people sloe and saying that because of any issues with health at all, they aren't fit for the job. Your attitude is disgusting, you are a despicable person and I feel sorry for the staff you step on who work under you. You don't have staff because of you. You are the problem. You kept my partner on for the festival and as soon as it's not busy, you get rid of him. I can understand if he isn't fit for the job, but to bully his neurodivergence and constantly belittling and calling him slow?

usually really good service. delivery is always fast and the food is usually great. ordered the usual today (my partner gets a small doner meat and chips with just coleslaw and I get the same with lettuce and mayo) we always have the same thing. tonighty partners came with everything on top, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, everything. he doesn't like everything and it's not what he ordered so he called up to explain the mistake, whoever was on the phone did not sound like who we usually talk to and was very rude and blamed my partner

Recently visited here for breakfast with my family. The restaurant is small in terms of space and I can imagine if everyone had a trolley it would be hectic and cramped. Service was really good, couldn’t fault it at all. Food So, my boys and me both ordered the big breakfast, it was lovely presentation and given your in a supermarket cafe the food itself was lovely. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast which she said was lovely, the scrambled eggs didn’t look watery at all. Downside The only downside I have for the cafe is that the branded drinks are expensive, £1.09 for a can of Coke Zero to me is expensive. Overall we loved it and will definitely be back again
