Excellent breakfast as always. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the food and service are always superb. Recommend booking in advance wherever possible, a firm favourite place. Thanks again Bridge House.

Been here for 3 breakfasts over the space of a few months and have never had an issue. Always great service and fabulous food. Really good quality ingredients and nice coffee! Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fabulous lunch. Initially, we just wanted a drink, but a quick look at the menu soon changed our minds. In fact, the super menu made it difficult to choose what to eat. I had avocado, bacon and goats cheese on deep fried potato skins with a sour cream dip. Fabulous.

Is there a better breakfast in Derbyshire, I personally think you would be hard pressed to find one. Front of house Chloe and her crew provided an excellent efficient table service and the food produced by Chris from the kitchen is just first class, so just go and enjoy but make sure that you make a reservation or you will be sadly disappointed.

Booked in here on the off chance as it was near by where we we heading. What a find. It was busy so good job we booked and had a bit of a weight for our breakfast but defiantly worth it. Good quality local produce and generous portions. No hesitations in recommending this place and definitely will return.

A first time visit and what a lovely place. Exceptional food with a great choice of menu. Staff were very nice. Would definitely go back again. We booked our table and so pleased we did as the restaurant was very busy. Booking definitely recommend especially for Sunday.

Perfect late breakfast. We arrived without a booking but were made to feel welcome and seated downstairs in the cosy bottom floor overlooking the garden.... Full English was seriously good and the rarebit my girlfriend and mother in law had were on point and tasted banging.... a small mountain of extra streaky bacon on top for £2 was great value and everything was cooked and looked sharp... Decor looks great, everything was really clean and service was quick... Thanks.... A great find

Absolutely wonderful place to eat. Food and service were 10 out of 10. The Bridge House is a fine example of doing the simple basics with food and getting it spot on right and making it amazing. It was breakfast but with all the extra's that made it much more than just 'a breakfast' and i would highly recommend visiting. You will not be disappointed trust me.

Friends had raved about how good the breakfast was here. We had family staying for the weekend so we took the opportunity to take them. We are a party of eight and most of us had the “full English” and one had the goats cheese with piles of crispy bacon. All the meals came quickly and all were hot. I am a full time wheelchair user and the owner got a couple of big fellas to lift me up the two steps into the building. Not the cheapest breakfast but definitely one of the best!

Second visit, and I'm a pretty happy camper. ( There's an idea Chris! 😄). Breakfast very good. This isn't a cheap transport cafe, so don't expect change for a fiver. Portions are large, quality is great, and service was prompt. Was given a tour of upstairs downstairs, and a pretty impressive ongoing venture was seen. The lower floor and garden does flood, but it's all embraced, rather than taking a "woe is me"approach. Parking is limited, but I guess many are walkers, so it doesn't matter too much. Very happy to rate 5*

It occurred to me when we visited on Saturday that I’ve not left a review before. I have tried a few different items from the breakfast/brunch menu and haven’t been disappointed with any of them. What prompted me to right this review was the Welsh Rarebit with Crispy Bacon I had on Saturday. Oh my word, the bacon was lovely and crispy (not burnt) and the rarebit was the creamiest, cheesiest topping I’ve ever had. My husband had the full English breakfast which arrived on what I can only describe as a plate the size of a tray. He managed to eat it all and said it was great. (He missed lunch though). If you love a breakfast cooked to perfection then this is the place for you.

The Bridge House has now started doing Sunday dinners and as with the breakfast served here it certainly does not disappoint. Menu choice that would cater for most people, ample portion size as usual and good hearty well cooked tasty food with excellent service from the staff. Chris, you have given us a dilemma, I think we will have to alternate between breakfast/Sunday dinners, well done to you and all your staff.

Today was the first time we had been to this cafe after driving past for ages. I was extremely impressed by the whole experience. The breakfast was of great quality and well cooked. The place is clean and well looked after, the garden looked welcoming even in the rain. The young waitress even took time out to show me the function room. The large breakfast would have been too big for my appetite but I am looking forward to taking my son as he may be able to manage. We had the smaller breakfasts, a bacon butty and toast all perfect. We went for a walk with our dog and called here for breakfast. We asked to sit in the garden but was told we couldn’t even though the sign said the garden would be open by this time in the year. We sat on the front on the A6. I asked if I they served a plain scone and butter. The server said,’ no, we aren’t that kind of establishment. There is more than enough to choose from on the menu. I think you will be able to find something.’ The food was delicious, but the attitude of the server was very poor. We won’t be going again.
