Brickworks in Hyndburn

Came here with our football team we have recently joined a league in the area, the pub has a great vibe, had a good variety of sports on tv, was very clean and tidy and the staff were also very welcoming, the lady behind the bar who served us I think she was called Kate was very friendly and helpful and helped us by running us through all the drinks deals that the pub offered helping us save money it was much appreciated. Overall a great place to visit.

Attended on a Friday night towards the end of term and for a late valentines meal. Booked a table in advance and given a great table nice and quiet table 25 I think it was. All the staff were absolutely amazing Beth, Katie Jack and Tonicha absolutely credit and ran front of house superb. Must also give credit to the chefs Sian and Danny. Will definitely be back and keep up the amazing work.

Came in for quiz night, brilliant night from Hannah, great food from Sian, really good night, a bit of a twist on the 4th fastest finger first, a must every Thursday night..

We came tonight for the quiz for the first time and had the best time. We ordered food too. My husband and I had pie, chips, peas and gravy and my son had a Margherita pizza and they were all delicious... Thank you head chef Sian! The quiz host, Hannah was a fab host and kept us entertained throughout. A really fun thing to do on a Thursday night! A lovely pub with fantastic staff! We will definitely be back :-)

Service is awful, I came here for a birthday. Provided my own cake, requested for this to be bought out 15 mins after food. After waiting 20 mins I got up and requested it again all I wanted was the cake to be bought out with candles and still had to wait a further 30 mins for this simple request.

What a truly awful place. Full of screaming children and pissed up parents. If you like out of control kids, parents who make no effort to control them and a completely stressful experience, this is the place for you. Otherwise avoid, avoid, avoid! And if you do stumble into this hell hole, get up and leave. It’s not a pub / restaurant. It’s a shambolic kindergarten.

New menu day! Wasn’t expecting to see a Donner Kebab & fries option but had to go for it! Extremely enjoyable and very filling with garlic mayo - a chicken & piri piri sauce option also available. Hayley ran through the new menu items which helped greatly, and chef Beth said it was no problem to remove the cucumber from the pre mixed salad, as although I have no allergies, I just don’t like it! Very successful visit and as a regular diner here, without doubt the most ‘full’ I have ever been at the Acorn x

We came in for a couple of drinks after a hard day at work, greeted by Kate at the bar who took our drinks order, asked us to sit down & she would bring them over, whilst having our drinks we decided to have some food, again served by Kate who recommended the chicken burger, and 3 sharer deal, an excellent choice the food was served by Kate & we were asked if we would like any sauces with our food, all round a pleasant welcome & stay.

Breakfast with You Know Who (The Grinch) was fab and great value for money. The Grinch and Cindy Lou interacted with the kids well and the games and face painting were fab! Food was served in a timely manner. Defo gonna look at your family Xmas events for next year :-)

I would like to thank the staff at the Acorn for a very special day, we had booked a meal in December but my father was rushed into hospital and was in over Christmas. the party booked included my blind aunty, my not well mother and my father all of which are over 80, I was a chef / landlord in Hornsea until recently and finalist in Britains best pub 5 times and Best bar none overall winner twice so I know when the small things matter, and they did. The staff were so understanding and helpful, I asked for comfortable seating, we got it, slightly out of the busy area, we got it and they were so helpful, especially the young assistant manager, he was so understanding, and great Christmas crackers. The food was what I expected and the service was quick - thank you all.

I came here for a work event this evening and was served by Kate and her manager Nathan who was extremely impressive in terms of their service and experience. Kate was brilliant at handling the bar on her own and Nathan was brilliant at delivering the food. Would definitely recommend the Acorn for any future bookings. A big shout out to Nathan and Kate and their amazing kitchen staff for their excellent food.

Have visited twice in a week with family that have travelled up from Nottinghamshire. The party included both young children and teenagers, who all thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. We were served by Felicity, and the chef was Beth, who both made every effort to ensure that the evening was both very relaxing and enjoyable. The food and drinks were reasonably priced, and I could not fault the food. Value for money and would recommend it

I booked onto the Harry potter event at the acorn and brought my 2 avid Harry potter fan daughters. They were so excited to get there and see what was going to happen. On arrival the barmaid stood glaring at the pub. I waited to by served and as soon as it was our turn we made eye contact and I opened my mouth to speak she walked away and asked a male to serve us. He was lovely very professional and served us quickly i stated we were there for the event and where do we need to go. He said his colleague would be over to check us in shortly. She came back over and rolled her eyes. We checked in and told to find a table . The event consisted of 2 tables only and didnt start til 15 mins after the stated time. We were told that the characters were getting ready the pub rapidly filled to bursting with others getting concerned how full it was too no seating for most people and the characters were no where near how the characters on the film should be. 2 very upset little girls wanted to leave after just 30 mins absolutely rubbish wouldn't recommend a event here. We did order food which came out quickly and hot the girls enjoyed the food but please do stick to what you are good at and not events acorn.

Love love love this restaurant. Since it’s remodel we have been super impressed. Staff are friendly and attentive. Good choice of food on the menu. Food has consistently been of high standard, correct, well cooked and well presented. It’s our favourite local family restaurant 😃

Went to watch the rugby and yet again a fantastic experience with some amazing staff, particularly felicity who yet again was very attentive and professional, and was very thorough in helping me understanding the offers and promotions which saved me money and made my night. 3 for £10 on Smirnoff ice? Yes please… 10/10 will go back.

We went to the acorn for a few drink and to watch the sports. Felicity was serving us drinks and also suggested the food which was amazing. She also advised me that I could use my blue light card on food.

Lovely place inside and out, outside seating and play area for families and separate area inside and out for watching sport. Very Clean and Dog friendly they even do a doggy menu with steak or sausage veg and gravy, sides, ice cream and puppachino's. They also cater for large groups as had a gender reveal party here and they couldn't do enough for us. Its cheap and cheerful and food was good

Definitely recommend this place. May have found a new regular place to go. The food was superb thanks to chefs Sian, Danny, Jake, Julie and Rachel. Didn't have to wait long for food and no wait at all for drinks which was made by Anna who gave us amazing customer service and made some great cocktails. Was told about all the events they have on each week and lots of great deals aswell on both food and drink. Also had a deluxe hot chocolate which was incredible. Will be going back and would definitely recommend. Really good atmosphere in the pub too.

Came in here with a few friends for a catch up and will definitely come back. Great feel atmosphere, staff are all lovely and polite. Anna had made us some mazing cocktails, love the passionfruit martinis. She also let us all know of their usual events that have on during the week and shall definitely be coming down to their quiz's and bringing my little one to the stay and plays on Tuesdays.
