Must admit i was not expecting much but happy to report the food was really nice. Service was quick, staff were friendly. The lasagne was nice & the asian veg noodles were very good. Would defo go back.

Enjoyed an excellent early evening meal for four. We all opted for the promotional two main dishes for £8.99. The food provided was first class and great value for money, our waitress service could not be faulted. Well done Balquharn, we will all return again and would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to other friends.

Lovely food as usual, which always arrives quickly and always as ordered. Great service, staff is always very welcoming here, especially Anna. I'm happy to come again.

Sunday lunch with mum&dad. We had the buffet lunch with good choices of roast meat and fabulous selection of side dishes. The price also included soup for starter. Nice clean establishment, friendly staff and good food.

Better than I thought it would be. Huge selection of meals and very well equipped for young children. Soft play is £3. Quality of food is alright without winning any culinary awards. Family place to go!

As i am working in the area for 3 months i always stay in a premier inn with a brewers fayre . As i eat in this place 5 to 6 times a week i find the menu covers a great variety of foods . The food has always been well cooked and fresh . the staff are so helpful and friendly and very well trained in all aspects of the food and drink trade . I would gladly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to eat with warm and friendly staff to meet and greet you .i would gladly stay and eat here anytime again

Had a nice family meal, helpfull servers including a waitress, Emma. Had a good meal, and an overall nice meal.

We visited on a very quiet Saturday lunchtime - sign says wait to be seated, if it hadn’t been for the barman - we would still be standing waiting - waiting staff too busy chatting!!!

Always good for an unlimited carvery. kids play park is good for under 10s too. good choice on the menu for all and reasonable prices. Enjoyed our meals.

Food typical of Brewers Fayre nothing special, but well presented and tasty. Service slow at busy times seemed to be understaffed for these times with customers queuing to be seated and at the bar. Took 20 mins to realise my colleagues food choice was not available which was frustrating as both meals where delayed no real apology just the obligatory 'is everything ok?'

Staying in the Premiere Inn next door on a business trip and the meals here are great value for money and tasty too, the breakfast is perfect for me as it is a buffet style so nice and fast. I was served on the bar by Meghan who was able to help me when I told her of my allergies. 10/10 service will be back soon

Recently visited this site with my daughter for the play area and dinner. Was greeted at the door by Emma, who happily took us to a nice table nearby the play area. She then served me at the bar again, being fast and precise while engaging in conversation with me. The food was a good price for the portion size, and the play area was fun and safe for my little one.

Very helpfull staff. Quick service at the bar. Staff member Emma was very good and helpfull. Ross was quick to serve the food and empties were cleared promptly and second course was out quick.

I’ve been staying here for 11 weeks due to having my firefighter training up at Portlethen. The Manageress and her staff have been very accommodating, no query is too much & there’s a very friendly atmosphere about the place. Would recommend to anyone!

Stayed at the Premier Inn and took out a meal voucher, thourghly enjoyed my meal at the Brewers fare couldn't ask for any more, Michelle the manger was fantastic her service and help was second to none... Well done Michelle great team you have working for you as well, will definitely be back.

Michelle was very attentive and made sure we all had everything we wanted. In a large group of 24 people, but she ensured we were looked after and that the service was good! Thanks.

The Brewers Fayre in Portlethen is a great place for couples or families to go for lunch or diner. The location is easy to get to, at the start of the Badentoy Industrial Estate. There is nothing industrial about its location with lovely countryside around it and very easy parking.

Another great meal. Would always recommend this place. Exceptional service this visit from Sasha. Very friendly and welcoming even though it was another busy day for the staff. Greay value meal, will be back again.

Very disappointed in the food. I asked for a sirloin steak with a salad. What I actually got was a thin steak with a mixture of beans (which tasted of fish) and a dollop of coleslaw. Not nice!

Popped in for fathers day. 7 of us for meals after reserving a table. Staff very polite and good choice for kids and adults. Reasonably priced too. Worth a visit.

We were driving back up the road from Dundee and fancied grabbing dinner before heading home so pulled into this Brewers Fayre just off the dual carriage way in Portlethen!, we were then greeted by a very friendly and polite girl (Samantha), who took us to our table and gave us our menus.

Stopped here for lunch today with my gran after doing some shopping at the retail park, both had the fish and chips (2 mains for £8.99) to be honest we didn’t expect much from the price but were pleasantly surprised when 2 really good sized portions were placed in front of us, really tasty, crispy batter and homemade tartar sauce, lovely place for a bite to eat, clean nice looking place with a play area for kids, will defo be back soon

Meghan has been excellent this week and served us all very attentively and quickly. She is always helpful and friendly.

Went for Sunday lunch and there was a choice of roast beef, gammon and turkey. The roast beef was delicious and my partner loved all the meats.

Visited here with family and as usual the service was exemplary and the food was as tasty and plentiful as ever. No complaints.

My stay at both the premier inn attached(Sarah) and the bar staff/restaurant(Aaron/Emily) have been made incredible by the aforemention people involved.

Staying here as part of my training for the Fire Service and every night you get great service and the food is a really good standard. We were served by Sean and he was extremely helpful and couldn’t have been nicer. Great little place

Already paid up we got a table easily and you choose from menu with no additional cost but there is an option to upgrade. We did pay 50ppp for the Stella .It didn’t come in a Stella Glass which is unusual and didn’t taste like Stella more like San Miguel of the glass it was given in. We did challenge it but were assured it was Stella . Starters we both had the Pate. I had had it before in Liverpool and it was just as tasty as I remembered . The onion chutney is the thing that sets it off . Main course .. well in Aberdeen had to be Hand Battered Giant Atlantic Haddock and Chips for hubby . Hot and fresh and tasty . I normally have the Lamb Shanks which are tasty but broke the mold and upgraded to the 14oz Rib Eye Steak. The upgrade £ 2.20. I wish I had gone with the Lamb. I asked for medium but it was more well done and a tad dry. Normally in the Brewers Fayre they come and ask if everything is okay with the meal but unfortunately they didn’t so ..

This is your typical pub chain family eatery with entertainment for kids.

My visit here was great! We had great service from one of the waitresses - Sammie! She was so helpful and so kind - Welldone Sammie!! Will definately be returning :)

We had a lovely day from start to finish, we had a warm welcome when we arrived and shown to our seats we were told about ordering and about the free refill drinks and if we needed anything to just ask a member of staff, our waiter was Kris gourlay who done a splendid job of looking after us. Would definitely recommend 100% to visit and try there delicious food.

Visited the resteraunt yesterday with family and wasn't disappointed. The new look menu has much more variety and is great value for money. Would really recommend the tandoori mixed grill!

Visited here with my friend as we were staying at the Premier Inn next door. The restaurant was freezing but it was just a quick meal we were after and it was convenient. I fancied a steak but was informed by staff member that they had no steak (this was only around 8pm on a Friday night). I then decided on Scampi as my 2nd choice only to be told they had also run out of Scampi. I eventually settled on the Combo Feast after the next 2 dishes I asked for were also now off the menu! My friend had the Potato Dippers which she had to send back! We waited ages for the food to arrive and when it eventually did.... It was not enjoyable. Most of the Combo Feast was cold. We decided to order dessert in the hope that it was better than our mains. We both ordered the Terry's Chocolate Orange Sundae (from the Christmas section of the menu). The Sundae glass was only half full! What a cheek after the shambles of a meal we had. After a busy day on the Saturday we decided to give the restaurant another go, mainly for convenience as time was getting on and we had an early start on the Sunday. We ordered a side of garlic bread with cheese to start which was £2.49 (see picture). It was one slice and it arrived with cucumber which I thought was unusual. It turned out they gave us a child's portion! We both then had Rump Steak which was decent although the pepper sauce was cold and for the 2nd night in a row the restaurant was freezing. I had to go back up to my room for my jumper! This whole "dining" experience was pathetic which was a shame as the hotel itself was good. If I have to stay here again I will not be visiting the restaurant no matter how convenient.

It’s very rare nowadays that staff catch your attention for all the right reasons. I stayed on site at the premiere inn with two business colleagues, on return to the Mains of Balquharn we were greeted by Emma, she went out of her way to make us feel welcome and engaged in conversation with us several times. I work in the service sector and it’s rare to find someone so engaged in their role. A great example of how a little effort goes a very long way. I will certainly stay again. Thanks Emma.

After our outing we really needed to eat and after reading the reviews I thought lets try this as it was on the way back home.

Had a brilliant meal over the Christmas period. Find the staff always pleasant and polite. Plus the food is always great, couldn’t ask for more!

After having many a good meal here we were somewhat disappointed.The first thing we noticed was how cold the place was. When the food came out that to was cold. The food was barely edible. My burger was tough and rubbery and my partners chicken wasn't put on a grill and was boiled and bland with a thick lumpy jack daniels sauce poured over it to mask it. The salad was wilted and the coleslaw was starting to go brown. All in all not a great experience and won't be back in a hurry.

Back again for another great visit. Large family meal just before Christmas. Very busy however the staff managed this well. Service took a little longer than normal but was quicker than we expected given how busy it was. The kids loved the face painting and we enjoyed the peace. Staff were as friendly as always and the food was great

Booked here back in September for my daughters birthday meal and was looking forward to a lovely carvery. When we arrived we were approached by who I believe was the manager. When she looked at our booking she responded with "Can you eat in an hour" so I replied "we can't say how long it will take as we don't know how long service will be and it's pre booked". We were made to feel we were an inconvenience as she was due a large booking in. We did eat within an hour and there was no sign of any of the large booking she was due. During our meal she was discussing staff members with others regarding them being late probably because they were out the night before which I feel was very unprofessional. I put this visit behind me thinking she must have had a stressful day. Our 2nd visit on 21/12 wasn't much better which has prompted me to write this review. We went up to the bar to order our food and was behind another customer when the phone started ringing so she finished serving him and answered the phone leaving my daughter and I standing while she took the phone call without even acknowledging us. Waited several minutes for someone else to come over and ask if we were being attended to. Meghan was lovely, very polite and friendly, shame Ann doesn't value her customers as much as her staff does! On a positive the food was lovely and great value for money.

Restaurant cold. Had the festive menu - starter of 'Chestnut on Toast' - came with the bread untoasted. Mains took a extremely long time coming - I had to go and ask when they would arrive, at which point (coincidently ?) they were served. Meals were luke-warm, the gravy was lumpy, the 'roast' potatoes not properly cooked, the yorkshire pudding was hard enough to use as foundation on the AWPR. The staff I'm afraid to say did not act as if trained. Really, really awful. Hardly surprised that the place was empty. Not returning.

Restaurant was very cold although staff insisted heating was on. Food was lukewarm overcooked. Would not recommend and will not return.

Stopped off on way home and was made very welcome by staff. The meal was excellent, hot and value for money. The relaxed atmosphere added to a most enjoyable time.

We arrived at 5.30 on sat 25th.It was a very cold night.The Restruant was very cold we and other customers had kept there coats on while they ate.which was not ideal.The food and staff was great.would go back as it is a lovely restaurant and good choice of food

It was my birthday so my husband n I went for a meal. I had my birthday badge on me which the friendly waitress noticed so once we enjoyed our tasty burgers she came with a small cake with a candle in it which I thought was lovely thank you very much. Food was tasty and hot and staff attentive.

Visit on a regular basis for breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. A special mention to Maureen who is there with a smile and a helping hand when needed.

Used this place for kids party for 32 including adult. We only booked 2 weeks beforehand and also booked kids play area. Had exceptional service from staff throughout. Will definitely use again.

Came here with my boyfriend recently, the staff we're both welcoming and professional and the general manager Michelle went out of her way to accommodate to many of my food allergies where in other places I am always made to feel like an inconvenience! I will be back thankyou!

The staff here really make you feel welcome with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The food and service cannot be faulted. If you are passing it is well worth a stop.

Needed somewhere to to take elderly relative as treat. Absolutely perfect for us. Close to city, comfortable, dinner was good with the fish pie being a highlight. Staff are lovely and welcoming.

Currently staying here 3 nights, hotel is wonderful but restaurant is terrible, breakfast was ok but service and food in the evening is far from acceptable! 1st night rare steak was order but an old piece of leather described the thing on my plate- thinking of trying the sweet potato fries?? Tip if u like burnt offerings your lucks in!!! 2nd night- the smothered chicken- was acceptable again but definitely not smothered, ordered the small pudding with hot drink, received the pudding then 15 mins later staff shout across to other staff she’s not received her drink!!! Another 15 mins but hey ho still no drink, wouldn’t have minded but I only needed mug as it was self service! How hard can it be??? Maybe if you employed people older than 12 it might help!!! Thankfully won’t be back

First of all I would have chosen to give this place a poor rating, but not all of our party of 7 had bad evening meals, but we all had bad breakfasts! Also the staff were friendly enough, we only had one small grumble about them.

Would highly recommend, I regularly go. Great service, great food and great prices- what more could you want!

Great place to have a break from the road or even just to get out of busy Aberdeen centre, staff take care of everything for you and you can relax/enjoy your meal peacefully inside or outside if it’s a nice day!

Stopped off here for some food with my family after a 5 hour drive. We had been here before and thought it was a good choice since we had a good meal the first time. This time however, If I wasn't so hungry I would have sent my food back with some home truths. My partner had the lasagna, which she reckoned what chewing on a tyre would be like and her chips had the taste of being cooked twice. My "Mexican" Chilli was more like beans that has been shown the chilli powder. there was little to no beef through it and the rice was well over done. When we paid, we expressed our disgust at our food and was given apologies. It wasn't the servers fault. She doesn't cook the food, but she did offer 25% off the meal.... The Kids meal..... which amounted to the grand total of £1.67.

Very let down been here several times before but today food wasn't great .The chicken and chorizo pie had a very soggie bottom and chicken was chewy and not much flavour. Coleslaw was hot ! Always thought it should be cold.And beer was warm as we asked for a cold one it wasn't much better as we had before .

Went here. The 8 of us. Carveries for 4. Mixed grill, kicking chicken gor 2 and a burger for the other. Service is now at the table not order at the bar. The meats for the carvery were very good. Mixed grill was great too. Worth a visit.

No problem at all here had their breakfast plenty on offer and was good. You have the choice of full breakfast or continental.Staff very pleasant .

I've never eaten in such a horrible atmosphere as this place. Been here a fair few times and the last 3 times are shocking. First time sitting in the restaurant we waited 45 mins for our meals and when it finally came the young guy not to be rude was smelly which was off putting but that was a few months ago.

Y es por eso que me encanta porque tenemos un niño autista y para poder llevarlo a algún sitio sabe significará que puede tener lo que es utilizada para todo el stess fuera de la hora del almuerzo. Gracias a la amable y complaciente que comprendieron nuestras peticiones y les sigue. Fuimos un día más tarde y fue tan buena así que tienen normas consistentes que hacen que todo el mundo relajarse. Bien hecho la gente.

Visitamos otra vez como muy cerca de la familia local. El personal estupendo, como siempre, buena comida y agradable. Siendo muy concurrido pero un sábado nos lo esperábamos. Aún así el servicio estaba en buena hora y mientras espera los niños dieron su rostro pintado incluido en la entrada de la zona de juegos.

Vivimos localmente y no has estado aquí por un tiempo, pero será a partir de ahora comer en otro lugar. Éramos un grupo de 6 adultos y habíamos reservado la mesa antes de ese día. Estándares realmente dejó aquí. Mientras que todas las otras veces que hemos comido aquí el lugar estaba lleno de familias locales esta vez estaba vacía a la hora de la cena. Parece el lugar ahora es frecuentado por obreros que no pueden ni siquiera se molestó en cambiar de su hi-viz ropa de trabajo. Aunque el lugar estaba vacío, un miembro del personal nos pareció que corresponda al asiento un grupo de fiesteros de boca, hi-viz revestida de trabajadores junto a nosotros, muchas gracias. La comida. . . . . Era comestible, pero nada especial y no se parecía en nada a como las ilustraciones en el menú. Además, podría añadir, cada artículo que pedí no estaba disponible. Nos encanta ir aquí utilizada para comer, ya sea en pareja o con la familia y amigos, pero lo siento, standa 4ds han caido drásticamente y el lugar es ahora nada más que un mercado de trabajadores de cantina. Si tienes hambre, realmente hambriento, pero no decir que no le avise. Nos encantaría volver pero no hasta oír las normas han mejorado drásticamente.

We stayed in Aberdeen the night before a flight and went for a meal. As always was absolutely fantastic. Staff are always really nice and friendly!

Nos alojamos en el Premier Inn por unos días y no había otra opción para comer en la localidad. En la última noche fui a la comida de supermercado Asda evitar comer aquí. La comida es insípida y obviamente recalentados. No vayas demasiado tarde en el día, ya que todo está preparado a carbón!

Llamado aquí una comida de pub en la tarde con la familia extensa. Hay una puerta al lado del Premier Inn y un amplio aparcamiento.

I visited this place for a quick lunch recently. I had a Mexican enchilada. It was all as expected from a chain restaurant / pub; service, and quality of food - nothing special but OK.

Only visited as I was at the Premier Inn next door, safe to say I won't be staying here again. Average service, below par food.

Visitamos este restaurante como quedarse en la puerta de la Premier Inn de al lado. La comida está bien, pero podría ser mejor. Lo peor fue una noche cuando tenían un problema en la cocina lo cierran el bar! El personal necesita un mayor supervisor, ya que parecen hacer sólo lo que quieren hacer! Es una pena, porque si te alojas en este Premier Inn (que era muy agradable, con un personal amable) no hay otros restaurantes en Portlethen aparte de un fish and chips.

The food and service were very very good not one complaint. The breakfast was consistently faultless. Everyone made you feel very welcome and the cold peroni was always a hit!

Comimos aquí con mi familia en 9 / 10 de junio durante su estancia en el Puerta principal Inn de al lado. La comida nos pareció muy buena y el servicio excelente. "Ross" nos sirvió y era muy servicial. Él fue muy paciente con los niños y hicieron que nuestra experiencia de comer una buena. Fue muy útil estar al lado del Premier Inn. No dudaría en volver si nos volvemos a estar en el área.

Desde que hace unos meses, pensé que nunca volvería. Después de oír cosas buenas recientemente me decidí a intentarlo con la familia. El servicio era excepcional, no estoy seguro de la carrillada nombre. Estaba tan impresionado con la comida. Las costillas son increíbles! ! ! Kirsty en el área de juegos fue genial, un gran valor añadido a su empresa. Fantástico con los niños. Todo el equipo parecía disfrutar trabajando y todos trabajaron bien juntos. Sigan con el buen trabajo. Volveremos muy pronto.

En el domingo llamado para chefs asados variedad para encontrar cuando llegamos allí sobre las 5. 30:00 que se había acabado todo. Dijeron que había sido muy concurrida y salir de todo. Sin duda esta situación necesita ser examinado como la semana antes sólo tenían sobresaliente a la izquierda. Creo que quizás la gestión necesita para sentarse y discutir el orden de más ingredientes para el asado los domingos. Decidimos quedarnos y tener algo fuera del menú normal que disfrutamos y el personal se disculpó. Aún así volveremos para comidas más en el futuro. Pero por favor busque gestión seriamente en esta situación.

Had a great meal tonight. Staff were efficient and polite seemed to all be busy but knew to look after me at the right times. Food was hot and tasty. Next door to my hotel too which was good. Overall well priced and great service.

Estado aquí unas cuantas veces. El personal en general muy agradable, en la pelota tan lejos como servicio y está pidiendo que se trata, y la comida es estupendo. Menú General pero siempre entregan Brewers Fayre fresca y caliente. Me encanta la tarta, pero ale el menú es lo suficientemente variada para atrajeron a veces y cada vez que visitemos la comida vegetariana trajes para todas las familias, incluyendo y sin gluten.
