Lovely lunch! Served food by a new young lad who was very polite and was doing an overall great job around the restaurant. Warm and cosy atmosphere. We love coming here and will continue

Food very good, service absolutely dire, one person behind the bar serving drinks, customers 8-deep, other staff doing trivial tasks, manager flitting about looking busy but doing nothing!!!! Will not come here again, better off at KFC around the corner!-

I come here every week for brekkie with a friend, food is great as always and all the staff are great especially Jay & Sam are friendly and always greet us with a smile and a chat and we never have a bad day when we come here.

Seems to have gone downhill since previous visit. Firstly tables need updating the one we had needed a good sand down and polish. Ordered the food at the bar and waited. Food came and not much of it for the price, the smothered chicken husband and son had seemed tough and not much BBQ sauce and it was tiny. Vegan burger was good came with a handful of chips and a blob of coleslaw - thats it. Finished food and went to bar to order desserts then a bit of a wait for them to arrive and table to be cleared. For the price, cleanliness and amount of food you got, not sure I will be going there again

Have been coming to the Mulberry Tree for over 7yrs and consistently recommend it to friends and family. The staff are fantastic, and I cannot fault the service. Food is extremely reasonable. You get so much for your money here.

Had another great meal here on Wednesday. Food is always brilliant and chef Hayley did a fantastic job getting the food out hot and well presented. We had an excellent lunch today at the Mulberry Tree Braintree. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Staff were all great especially our waitress Alison who was friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere, clean throughout.

Wow, we expected ok but we got fantastic! Can’t fault a thing for our entire lunch. We had Boxing Day lunch and thought well it will be fine but weren’t expecting too much. The Mulberry Tree is the perfect spot for a Family get-together at Christmas. 24 of us ranging from 2 months right through to doting Grandparents converged on the restaurant to be greeted by a beautifully dressed table with poppers and crackers and attentive, helpful staff. We sat adjacent to the indoor play area so the youngsters were free to go and play at whim meaning the adults could catch up in a relaxed way. Fab food and loads of it.. and the endlessly refillable drinks are an economic way to keep the family satisfied. We had a relaxed and very affordable, friendly afternoon... Perfect! What a wonderful start to the Festive season... Well done Sam and staff.

My salf and husband go here quite often some times with are little dog. Yesterday . I was told that dogs are not welcome ,we had to leave. But the was another dog in there . Very disappointed.

Asked for a table near the soft play for my 3 yr olds birthday, was told fully booked on entry. 1 table occupied out of 11/12 tables and when they left and it was cleared the rest stayed empty. I spent most of my time watching my daughter sitting at the empty tables that were ‘fully booked’. This was quite clearly just so the team didn’t have to walk as far and they could keep areas clean. I don’t get to see the family I was meant to spend some time with as they don’t live local, I spent all my time at an empty table we could have sat at as a family! The food was ok but the check back was late, we had all practically finished our mains. It all felt like the team were uninterested in customer service and actually helping you enjoy your experience. It seemed all about saving time and distance at the detriment of the customer. As a manger in hospitality I was disappointed in the service. My expectations of a base line level of customer service for any food outlet sadly was not met and I don’t expect silver service from a pub.

There were four of us booked in for the Sunday Carvery. On arrival we were told that the Carvery was unavailable, no explanation given. We had to choose from the standard menu, this is not what we went there for. To make matters worse, some people were still being served by the carvery. Very poor! We won't be going there again.

Bang average, with a pinch of chaos… but that was the group I was with. On a very wet and windy evening, after a very long drive… the brewers fayre was the shining beacon that beckoned us in from the storm. Damp and soggy but full of potential, we set upon the fayre ready for battle. The food was as to be expected, delivery by friendly staff who could recommend the cheese cake highly enough… so much so it came twice (before and after the meal) We departed full of joy and burgers to our adjacent hotel (not given as shining a review)

Don't bother, there are no staff, I booked a table expecting table service... No, don't bother you still have to go to the bar and queue behind everyone even ordering drinks. No point claiming it's a restaurant. Anyhow, having been led to my table and looking through the menu, I chose my meal, only to be told they had run out - would be nice to know what they haven't got before ordering. Tried queuing at the bar again for a second choice, quess what, they didn't have. Have up and went elsewhere. Sticky tables didn't help much either. Spoke to a local who said it's not good he only drinks there because it's on his way home. Whilst waiting in the queue to order a man complained asking why after 40 minutes they still hadn't god their starter. Say no more...

After being at Great Notley park all day we were all hungry and didn’t want something that would cost the earth. We found brewers fayre on Google maps which was a 10 minute drive away. On arrival the place was clean, fresh and welcoming. We got taken to our table quickly. Ordered and within 30 minutes were given our starters. All hot. Then asked if we want the mains prepared right away which is a nice touch. They came over promptly and were again hot. Good portions for the price we paid. We took advantage as it was before 6 the 2 mains for £10.49 and add a desert for £2.49. This made the 4 adults meals £6.49 each. Brilliant value.kids meals for 3 dishes were £5.99. Sides within the kids mains were a little small but that’s the only criticism. We were checked upon and asked if we wanted any condiments. We were then asked when finished if we were ready for deserts. Yet again a nice touch. Service was good. Unlimited drinks areas were clean. A friendly atmosphere. Play area inside and out to keep the kids entertained. It makes it a little noisy but that depends on where you sit. It is a family orientated place after all. I’m sure if you were a couple and asked to sit somewhere quieter they would be able to accommodate you. Overall it was a very good experience. Would return again it up that way.

Was shown to our reserved table where the guy was real polite and helpful. Food was excellent (I had the mixed grill and sticky toffee pudding with custard) The restaurant wasn't very loud, it was a nice relaxed atmosphere despite multiple families with children. Absolutely recommend if you are wanting a fair priced, delicious dinner!

As nearly always, the food is excellent quality and good value. But the drinks are top price. The service is a tad slow, they always seem to be about 2 staff less than they need, presumably to save money, but it does slow down the service - particularly at breakfast time.

We were greeted by Chris to be told that although the restaurant was very short staffed he was more than happy to give us a table if we didn't mind waiting a while to be served. The staff worked so hard, there were only 3 of them but there was never a grumble and lots of fun banta. The food was as always delicious, fresh, hot and very good value. We were served really quickly despite the small number of staff. The lunch menu served from 12 until 6pm never disappoints. Our waitress Alison is always a delight, nothing is too much trouble for her and we are very grateful for her friendly and professional service. We look forward to returning very soon and have even asked Alison .which shifts she is working in the hope of seeing her next time. Thankyou to the whole team for an excellent evening. Xxx

We have been here just for drinks with friends with families and had a great time. Today we had dinner, food was average but Alison our waitress was brilliant. We need to know her shift pattern so we can come back when she is working! Thank you so much. We really appreciate your attentiveness as we have been to other restaurants and the service has been terrible.

Soft Play for kids is ok and free, but not really monitored as bigger kids entering when they shouldn't be. Not very clean. Tables sticky and food on carpets. Food ok but wouldn't eat here again. Main was luke warm. Coffee machine milk barely warm. Dirty toilets which are very small and can't open both doors at same time! Wet toilet roll on ceiling just grim.

We stayed for two weeks and we would recommend the restaurant for everyone. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was fantastic. I would like to give a special mention for Alison who provided amazing customer service during our visit. Withregards to recommendation I would suggest the any of the steaks and the big stack burger.

We have been eating here on and off for years. It is our local and first choice for food. They have just recently put their prices up and reviewed their menus, but it is still well ahead of most competition, maybe beaten locally only by Wetherspoons. The food is excellent, and reasonably priced, but you pay a premium for the drinks.

I took my daughter here for lunch today, we ate from the £10.49 lunchtime menu. The food was lovely, friendly service and brilliant value for a cheap lunch out. We added a dessert each for £2.49, I had brownie and ice cream, my daughter had profiteroles. Were both delicious and good sizes. Paid £20 for 2 course lunch and 2 cokes. They have some good deals on cocktails, 2 for £10 ! Will definitely return
