BrewDog Union Square in Aberdeen City

The first time we were here everything was perfect, so left a good review. The second time things were a bit lacking, and they didn't respect the two minute silence for remembrance Sunday which really upset us, but we didn't change the review. We decided to give them another chance, we booked the table for 11am and turned up a couple minutes early, there were people getting seated with no booking which is fair enough, but when our drinks arrived (don't expect to get decaff coffee as although they do a fantastic decaff it's often sold out, which it was when we requested it) almost half an hour after we sat down we weren't too impressed. The staff member did apologise when he took our order and said they were unexpectedly short staffed, but why continue to take walk ins if you can't cope with the customers who have already booked? Our food arrived at 12 o'clock, an hour after our booking, and it wasn't worth waiting on. It wasn't bad, but it's been better. They'll probably be glad to hear we won't be back.

Stayed for a night for work at the hotel, the suite was class. Turned up at 9pm after getting flight in from shetland. The member of staff that booked me in couldn't of been more helpful and pleasant, absolute credit to your company and lucky to have someone so attentive. Believe his name was Jack Goldy.

A good place for beer lovers. Wide selection of beers. A place to meet friends and celebrate a birthday, because the birthday person drinks beer for free. !!!

The service was excellent, the waiting staff were very accommodating and attentive even for our large table. Food was good.

Came for food recently with a friend, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming with the staff leading us in and setting us at a table. We were visited semi-regularly by staff asking if we wanted our drinks topped up which was fab. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot and so filling, the burgers are such a decent size and the pizzas too! I absolutely recommend coming here for food if you are within the shopping centre or on a stop over from a bus or train from the attatched stations. Beware the kitchen closes close to 9, but the bar stays open for a little while longer till 10 the only downside of it being in a shopping centre I suppose. Overall 10/10 from the bar staff, to the kitchen !

Food service quite slow (didn't seem very busy). We had booked for the 2nd burger/pizza £1 deal but this wasn't reflected on the bill. We paid but got server to arrange a refund so all good.

Enjoyed our brunch and drinks at BrewDog Union Square. Ross was very attentive to our needs and happy to have a chat with us before we left.

Servers were really attentive. They even gave my son a free dessert for winning a rock paper scissors contest. They also got games to make the wait more amenable. Only bad comment I got was that they missed the order of one of our guests, and they have if a free plate of French fries to compensate. We used the offer of buy two burgers and the second cost £1. That made the final bill cheaper. Burgers are massive, I had to divide the burger in two and use cutlery to eat mine.

Alright. Pretty much sums it up. Beer was flat - this was replaced after asking for a fresh one though. Food tasted good but some parts were unfortunately cold. Fries weren't served until 10 mins after the food arrived. Alright but not up to the normal Brewdog standard. On this occasion would have been better heading to a Greene King and getting similar food for half the price.

After being shown to booth was mostly ignored by staff. Ordered food on phone. Mac and cheese was lukewarm, tried to power through but decided best no to. The server clearing plates did offer to heat it up which I refused. Hasselback potatoes were ok although one was strangely dry and powdery and stale tasting. Not a great experience to be honest.

My first time in the restaurant. I had “The Patriot” Burger. One of the most popular on the menu according to my server and it’s no wonder why! The burger was magnificent, not to much sauce and a nice balance between all the fillings as to not take away from the burger. The fries however were a little overdone which had me leave a majority but however for the fries that I did eat the taste was lovely after a little salt and pepper was added. Overall the restaurant is just as good as the Lager it’s here to promote! Beautiful! Service was quick when ordering first drink and food and both were out of the bar and kitchen quickly. However after your plate is taken away the service declines. The staff are lovely just not attentive.

Probably the slowest and least busy Brewdog I've been in. I won't be going to this one again. It took an hour from ordering to receiving our burgers, and it was less than 25% full. So no excuses for being busy. Also the food was lukewarm at best.

Was going to the cinema in union square Aberdeen, so thought going for a quick meal & a pint would be a good option, in & out! For kick off the QR code on the table to book a drink & meal didn’t work, the waiter actually said it was a rubbish app & hadn’t worked for ages. Got our drinks order which came quickly, my wife ordered a white wine, barely drinkable, but heyho they’re beer people, right! Then the wait for food, a good 45min, even had to rearrange the cinema ticket times. When the food came it was absolutely disgraceful, the description on the menu couldn’t have been further from the meals that arrived, fries were so well done it was hard to tell if they were burnt or just reheated several times…it’s fries! how could you possibly get it so wrong. Then my chicken burger, bun stale cold, chicken warm no taste and so small you would have thought I’d ordered it from the kids menu…it made Burger Kings burgers look like gourmet food. My wife’s feta & avocado salad looked awful, just thrown together on a plate, limp lettuce & chunks of feta & big cut raw red onion. Guys…by all means offer small snack bar food but not meals, your obviously not in that market, just stick to the beers. If you’re looking for an enjoyable meal, this is not the place, just go for the beers. To be fair when I complained about our meal they didn’t charge us, & to be fair I wouldn’t have paid for it anyway.

We were gifted a "Bottomless Brunch" last Christmas and as we dont go out much we didnt bother... lots going on and not much spare time.. Wow next thing we know its nearly out of date! Came today and the staff were lovely! Partner had several pints of Punk IPA, I had quite a few glasses of Prosecco.. he had a full english and I had Korean Bao Buns.. the food was yummy.. the best part of it was the staff.. so nice and helpful, all with humour and lots of laughs!! Thanks sooo much.x

Entró comida pedida del escáner en la aplicación de mesa. 40 minutos más tarde, todavía no había comida o incluso una bebida llevada a la mesa. 1 hora después, alguien finalmente se acercó a la mesa y nos preguntó si queríamos pedir. Les dije que sí. Se fueron y volvieron y dijeron que nuestra comida nunca fue a la cocina. Les mostré mi recibo. Incluso fui a revisar mi cuenta bancaria, y el dinero fue sacado. Me preguntaron si quería reordenar. Nos fuimos sin comida, sin bebida, y una factura de más de £ 45. 00 . Estaré comprobando en unos días si toman el dinero como estaba pendiente. No recomendaría este establecimiento. Uno de los miembros del personal estaba de pie en una mesa charlando con amigos durante todo el tiempo y ni siquiera vino a nosotros. Servicio impactante. Ni siquiera pude probar la comida.

Food is always cold here and takes ages.. can't think of a time I've not had to send something back. Shame because castlegate is top!

Not a huge range but tasty. Staff are young and enthusiastic. Time in this industry will tell. Played games the had until burgers arrived drinking bakewell tart IPA. Life is good.

Another great afternoon/evening in brewdog union square. Staff were great and the kitchen staff must be a well oiled machine. Food was hot, fast, and more importantly really tasty. Can't fault the place and I regularly use it!

So we ordered our food and having waiting 20:25 minutes the waiter came over and said one of the items wasn’t available. I then waited ages for them to sort out the refund and my partner still had a massive wait for his food. What a complete and utter waste of time. Awful service, massive wait, avoid avoid avoid

Went for brunch yesterday with my kids and some friends and not only I left disappointed at the poor service but also hungry. It took very long before anyone would serve us even though the place was empty, I ordered from the brunch menu for my kids while waiting for the rest of the party and specifically told the waiter that we had come for pancakes (so brunch!). After my friends arrived, we had a really tough time getting anybody’s attention so we could order. After a lot of waiting I attempted to order another chicken and waffle but was told in a very not friendly manner that the brunch menu was not available anymore. I wasn’t even offered an alternative, I would have expected the waiter to say “do you want to order something else?” but no, nothing, he just walked away again. We just had to pay at the till because nobody even came with the bill. The waiter could have been nicer and the service better.

Chicken wings were cold had to send them back, properly hot ones were good. Lovely beer.

I ordered the Cluck Norris and was extremely disappointed. Could not cut it with a knife it was so tough and very difficult to chew. The waiter did give us a discount off due to this but would not order this again. My husbands was nice but napkins would be helpful at the tables.

Considering that we where the first ones in for brunch the food was cold and so obviously left over from yesterday, most of it was inedible and was given to our service dog, the cappuccino was just warm but not warm enough to melt the sugar cube, it was just all round a very dismal experience, we also noticed that the person in the kitchen didn't have either a apron or headware on, Certainly won't be going back !!!!!!

my husband and i was there on saturday afternoon, we ordered the cluck norris, chicken burgers and it was disgusting. meet was black and it was hard like it had been refried several times. we did complain and picked different things husband had a beef burgers and it was good and i have the xmas loaded fries they was delicious but could have been warmer as was cold in the middle. thibk they need to up their standards of the food. staff are lovely it the food that lets it down

We arrived for lunch and ordered 3 drinks. Took ages to arrive. Ordered our food while still waiting for drinks, an hour later still no sign of our food. Gave up, paid for drinks and left. Won’t be back.

As an avid fan, almost advocate of Brewdog and their restaurants, I have to say that our visit to this location was dire. The food in particular was far from fresh and the service was terrible.

40 mins for a pizza they did offer me another pint but I refused..

I recently visited BrewDog in Union Square for their Unlimited Wings Wednesday, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We had booked a table and tried multiple times throughout the day to call the number provided on their website and Google Maps to ask if we could be late, but received no answer. We even sent an email but, again, no response. Upon arrival, we were told to sit wherever we liked. When we tried to order two portions of wings, we were informed that this wasn't possible unless we had booked in advance, which we did. After some confusion, the waiter said it should be fine. We ordered wings with sauces on the side. The food was not great. For almost an hour, nobody checked on us. When we approached the waiter for another round of wings, we were told the kitchen was closed (20:45), despite the website stating it closes at 22:00. Eventually, two small portions arrived, covered in sauce even though we requested for it on the side. The waiter apologized, saying they ran out of wings but could fry some chicken thighs instead. These were pretty much inedible. We asked for a doggy bag, and after waiting another 15 minutes, we had to remind the waiter, who admitted he forgot. The overall experience was surprisingly very poor, compounded by the staff's loud conversations and inappropriate language around guests. I’m giving 1 star solely for the beers, which were excellent as always.

Seemed to be only 2 staff working on the floor at 2pm when we arrived. The restaurant was almost full at this time. They did their best seeing to everyone and were very pleasant, cheerful & knowledgeable. There were delays in our order being taken, & when we wanted to pay the bill. My 1st experience of Brewdog, so was happy to test a flight of beers. Staff helped with suggestions & choices.

Really disappointed… 1h wait for 2 burgers. But the main thing is that you can order online at the table & then we don't pay attention to it. forget…. Too bad. Brewdog was much better when they weren't so well known!!!

Great staff and amazing pizza, just be careful not to order the vegan cheese option if you're not vegan, it's very different 😋 Spicy meaty is delicious

Food took over an hour to come. Kids food came first and they finished before mine even arrived. Cancelled my order, thankfully staff never charged us for the kids food

Teniendo en cuenta lo cerca que está este lugar de la sede, debería funcionar como una máquina de coser y debería ser insignia, pero no. Esperamos a sentarnos como dice el letrero a la llegada - nadie llegó hasta que finalmente el barman nos hizo señas para tomar asiento. Se hizo obvio que el lugar tenía poco personal. Se colocó una copa y tardó 15 minutos en llegar. Se hizo un pedido de comida (hamburguesas, pizza y papas fritas cargadas) y tardó 50 minutos en llegar, cuando lo hizo las papas fritas cargadas estaban parcialmente frías. Las salsas de la mesa estaban casi vacías y faltaban los cubiertos. La comida era media, nos ofrecieron una ronda de bebidas gratis como compensación por la espera que era buena, pero para entonces todos nos habíamos decidido a no volver. Cuando pagamos un 25% de descuento se ofreció debido al mal servicio. Los baños estaban mal mantenidos, los dispensadores de jabón vacíos y había orina por todo el suelo. ¡No volveremos!

Ordered food to the table online which got lost in their system and we left hungry after an hour. Really feel the staff could have done more to sort this when we alerted the young lad to it 30 mins in, by prioritising our order. Gave us a free beer but we were there to eat lunch. Procedures need auditing and tidying up. Customer service was better at Nandos next door - who were busier while ensuring we were seated and eating within 10min. Get it together brewdog.

Visited Brewdog Union Square for a quick dinner after traveling all day. We opted for the Patriot burger with fries, the Mac and Cheese, plus some Hasselback potatoes. The food tasted good, but the burger was a bit greasy. The dip for the potatoes was a bit bland, but the beers, Hazy Jane and Shore Leave, were awesome. Will definitely come back 😃

Ya hemos tenido el brunch Brewdog en Ellon, y fue fantástico, así que pensamos en probar lo mismo aquí en Union Square. Estábamos sentados, y nuestra orden fue tomada rápidamente. Después de esto, después de esperar 50 minutos, preguntamos si la comida iba a ser mucho más larga, habíamos bebido la mayor parte de nuestro té, y lo que quedaba era frío. El camarero, que era muy despreocupado, nos ofreció una recarga gratuita de té y fue a comprobar y regresó para decirnos que nuestra comida sería de otros 5 minutos. Él nos dijo que solo había él mismo, y la persona que tomó nuestra orden era ahora la única persona en la cocina cocina cocinando. ¡Si tan solo nos hubieran dicho esto antes de ordenar! Nuestra comida realmente llegó en 5 minutos, con varios artículos desaparecidos y otros artículos demasiado cocinados. No nos molestamos en decir nada. Solo queríamos comer lo que era comestible e irnos. Le avisamos al camarero cuando pagamos, él (de nuevo sin ninguna preocupación real) dijo que lo pasaría. Nos dimos cuenta de varias mesas saliendo antes de recibir su comida durante nuestro tiempo allí, y no estaba ocupado en absoluto. No volveremos. Experimentamos un servicio al cliente terrible y muy mala calidad de la comida.

Was in brewdog today for the first at union square and the two guys that was on shift around 2pm ish was friendly,helpfull and made you feel welcome food was fast and tasted fantastic defo be back well done boys

Entró y pidió una hamburguesa. Hubo una larga espera. Los tipos que estaban allí que eran los empleados parecían más interesados en hacer bromas y tratarlo como una gran risa. Señora a mi lado con niños pequeños había estado esperando incluso más que yo. Parecía que solo una persona en la cocina estaba trabajando a pesar de que había mucho personal. ¿Iría otra vez? No me gustaría haber elegido uno de los otros restaurantes. No estoy seguro de si volvería a usar la cadena. Tan poco profesional

We are regular visitors , but mainly just for drinks, really friendly and helpful staff, great Brewdog beers, also highly recommend Caterpillar Cake guest beer, it's chocolate in a glass, but you can never go wrong as you can taste before you buy.

We ordered the feast. The chicken was very dry. After complaining we were told they would get fresh chicken for us which was good but in the end we just got more of the same. The potatoes tasted burnt and we didn't get the dips that it was supposed to come with. We also ordered the truffle fries which weren't seasoned. Tried to season them but there was no salt in the salt shaker... Overall really poor on the food side. In fairness the server was really nice and helpful so couldn't fault him.

This bar is one of my favourite places in the world, genuinely. Such incredible staff who take an interest in you. Always game for a bit of a chat, bit of beer knowledge and the food is superb. Thanks guys,

The brewdog bars are great, however it’s starting to get expensive, where in the past demonstrated good value. £9.50 for 5 wings a little on the high side and at £16.50 for a burger and fries, there are better options out there, which is a shame as the bars are great.

A few pints and some snacks before we had to catch our train. Very professional run bar. I do appreciate the Q-code for the menu, and people who don't like to order via the Q-code are quickly served by the staff. They even got take away bottles and cans, which we found awesome. Not often I've seen that option in other bars. Excellent spot for craft beer lovers.

Visited for Wings Wednesday and the service was appallingly slow and inattentive. I guess that's the best way to slowly manage their offering. Not worth the money or time.

We went for Wings Wednesday. The two boys had the all you can eat wing, and us girls had burgers. All the food was delicious. The only thing that let BrewDog down on this visit was their service. It's started off so well, but we were soon forgotten about after our food was served and had to wait a long time to get more wings and drinks.

Don’t know what to make of Brewdog Union square anymore. Monday 12th August 2024 visited with family. Understaffed, and the ones who were there looked disinterested. Waited ages for food and when it came out of 4 pizzas, one burnt round edges, one looked anaemic and my daughters burger was seriously cold. Can’t really blame they were busy. About 6 other punters in. Two days later daughter and boyfriend try to grab a quick drink only before their train. Refused entry on grounds of hadn’t booked!! The place was empty. Sort it out Brewdog as this place is dragging down your reputation. (From a Brewdog fan)

We were having a look round Union Square shopping arcade and dropped in here for a drink. Couldn't decide which beer to have, so had a flight instead! Nice tasty beers and good selection. Usual BrewDog value - and food looked tasty.

I have eaten in various Brewdogs and the food has always been pretty good. Bit overpriced though!! But my wife and I tried a vegan burger and it was rubbish it was really overcooked and crunchy. I have had vegan burgers before that were very good and even from brewdog.

Went in when relatively quiet, was seated, then forgotten about. Went up and asked where to order and was told they would come and take my order. Went back to my seat and watched the same 2 workers on their phones and just chatting with each other behind the bar for the next 10 min. Got up and left, they didn’t even notice me. Thought maybe it was an off night so tried again a week later, the exact same thing happened. What happened here? Service used to be good.

Love it here. Good music is always a great starter to the vibe. Great drink selection, currently there’s a sour beer showcase on which is a nice change. Staff are great, drink selection always good and vibe is nice.

Waited over 40 minutes for two plates of wings on wings Wednesday, was late for the movie we booked, didn’t expect to be over an hour for some wings on a promotion day….

Friendly staff, good vegan options, can be a little slow when busy but I'd certainly recommend.

Young Scot cards are not allowed as proof of age, despite being legal proof of identity and age in Scotland. After I (adult parent) ordered drinks for our family of four (all legal age) and the drinks were delivered only then was I told about this company policy. I said we the parents would drink the beer delivered. The waitress apologized. We said we understood. Then the manager woman came and made a fuss that was unecessary but we smiled and we again said we understood that it wasn’t their fault and it was company policy though they should make this clearer. Then my son (legal drinking age) had a sip of the beer and the manager came storming over and grabbed the beer from him. And then threatened to have us chucked out!!! So we cancelled the meal order and paid for the drinks that we had, and left, as the atmosphere was so sour by then. My husband made sure the teenagers were ok and then returned to the restaurant to let them know how disappointed we were and heard the manager slagging us off and laughing at us to her colleagues loudly and in front of other customers. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

Wonderful staff, great food. Someone however almost ruined our experience by complaining and shouting a fair bit, staff handled it well and deserve a raise for having to deal with people like that Small man syndrome I guess.

The staff were friendly and professional as always but the service was slow and the quality of food has dropped. Burgers were still tasty but not as good as previous visits. The chipotle coleslaw was so tasteless I had to send it back. Disappointing from our favorite pre cinema place to eat and drink.

I love Brewdogs in general, and I love this one too. Friendly staff, great beers, chicken wings among the best out there, good music playing. Nothing at all not to like.

The place in the mall is quite nice with a decent ambient. The food on the other hand is not great. The burger I had was small and fell apart very easily. The salad was meager and poorly made. On top of that the food was incredibly overpriced. Would not recommend.

Great atmosphere service excellent I don't have a bad thing to say about it at all food is great certainly gets a five from me and I was certainly be back.

This is our second visit here & I couldn’t wait to go back. Went for drinks & food on a Saturday & the food is sensational. The cheese & bacon fries are to die for. Had to go back on the Sunday for breakfast & they did not disappoint.! The staff are first class. So helpful & cheery. This is my fav place. I’d HIGHLY recommend this place for food.

Quick lunch with family today was a disaster... First of all, we were told we could not have anything from the brunch menu, with no explanation. Our orders were taken, and an hour later, we were served our very poorly presented meals... My granddaughter had ordered a ceasar salad which didn't look or taste like any ceasar salad I had had before... none of our meals were good value... nearly £20 for a small vegan hamburger with an equally small tub of chips, (cold) no garnish! E When we commented on the salad, we got an apology and an explanation that things were not well in the kitchen... If that's the case stop selling food! My second visit to Brewdog only to be disappointed! Never again.

Went for lunch today, waited 45 minutes for our food to be told that it hadn’t went through to the kitchen properly so then waited a further 15 minutes so total an hour for some wings. The staff member told us we could get a full refund or wait. We waited as at that point we were really hungry. We got the 18 wings deal but when they arrived, there was only 12 wings served for £20 with 6 missing. Wouldn’t rush back here, they need a manager in the venue who is overseeing it as all that was offered was a free juice to compensate for the hour wait and lack of wings that we’d paid for via the app.

Delicious Korean chicken wings and burgers. They also have pizza and salads. The service was friendly and efficient. The bar has a big selection of beers. Good place for lunch or some pre- cinema food

Came in for a pint and a bite before cinema. Ordered pint and sat down to look at menu. Ordered food via app and paid with tip. Then bartender comes over and says, sorry no food today as kitchen staff in a meeting for next few hours, whatever that means, and I should be refunded immediately. Still waiting for that refund a week later. They were very quick to take the money though and bartender never mentioned anything about food not being available when i ordered my pint. Too busy joking around and chatting with the kitchen staff up at the bar it looked like. I'm not angry, just disappointed. Used to be a great place to come for a meal and a pint once upon a time. Out of all the bredogs I've been to this is the worst yet for customer care and service.

Visited this bar as we were in Aberdeen for the day on a cruise. I asked for a vodka and coke, smirnoff, however they said that they have Abstract and the lovely barmaid showed me the bottle and matching glass, I was gobsmacked, they were so pretty. I said okay and lived the vodka, it was so nice. I bought a glass and as soon as I got home ordered a bottle of Absract vodka on line. I can now sit at home and enjoy it and the memories of the Brewdog bar and lovely staff there. Thank you for introducing me to your lovely vodka. 😁😋😋

Not the first time here and always finishing in the same way just very poor service very slow and just not professional at all. Also the food is ok but nothing special got the feeling that they need to step up there game just a little because would be a shame to see such a good place go down the drain

We are up visiting for the AGM and decided to go union square for some lunch. We were served by Ross who was very friendly and offered great advice on beers even giving us some small tasters. The food was very good as well. Will definitely be back and hopefully see Ross at the AGM

Poor service. Bar was not busy on a Friday lunchtime. Was ignored for over 20 minutes when trying to order food. Server ignored my request to order when he was at his order station next to our table and then avoided looking in our direction or making eye contact. We got up and walked out. Made a complaint to customer service. Replied they would investigate. 2 weeks later not heard back. Completely different experience at the Ellon facility.

So here we are with some friends that are in town... The place is understaffed, takes forever for someone to take an our order, kids meal is missed and forgotten about. No waiter in sight, meanwhile I see out order sitting ready to be served. Decided to pick it up myself.... then our friend find a random person's hair in her food.... absolutely disgusted by the while experience, not going back again.

Great location in the shopping centre, upper level, attached to the train station. Staff are always helpful with suggestions on drinks to try. Food is great, craft beers are superb. The also also have cocktails. And non-alcoholic beer option

Bar staff really friendly and attentive, food and beer spot on and good value for money with the voucher.

When we arrived the table that we had been booked had been taken and we were sat at the walkway which is what we didn't want. The pints of Punk were flat. The app service is terrible. The food was delicious.

Modern taphouse on 2nd floor of new Union Square shopping center with huge carpark and railway station next door. Great beers, tasty food and friendly efficient staff! Perfect

Visited Brew Dog for first time at Union Sq. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Drinks order taken promptly and recommendation given to my elderly mother regarding gin options. Meal order taken soon after but did wait longer than I would have expected for meal to arrive and it wasn't very busy. To our disappointment only one of the same order arrived and when checked, the second order hadn't been put through the system. Left after paying for drinks leaving the meal. Looking back on when order was taken, it wasn't read back to confirm by staff member. Recommend that Brew Dog train staff to do this to avoid such issues in the future.

Expensive for small portions, food was OK but certainly wouldn't bother to to return, service was very slow on food orders once they were in.

Katie took good care of us on our recent visit, just attentive enough without being over powering. Good sized portions of decent food. Great choice of drinks too!
