Absolutely fabulous. The coffee is amazing. The food delicious. And all of the team here are wonderful. I recommend Bread and Milk as the go to place for coffee in Brighton.

First visit to Bread & Milk and was very impressed. Service friendly and efficient. Coffee and Tea have brilliant flavour, hot and served beautifully. Sausage roll and prosciutto focaccia sandwich so tasty. Bread & Milk was very popular when we were there with a lot of takeaways.

This is my absolute go-to cafe in Brighton! There’s a selection of smaller snacky items and a sandwich selection. Always recommend it to others as I had it recommended to me too. The staff are always lovely and so kind! I tend to always see the same girl with dark hair, she’s always so welcoming! Best place in Brighton! Almond croissant is the best!

Halloumi sandwich gave my girlfriend food poisoning. Before anyone says it could’ve been something else it wasn’t, it was the only thing she ate the whole day apart from some plain toast later on because obviously she’d been throwing up for six hours. Went in around four and got her sandwich to take away, got home and even though it wasn’t warm anymore i told her to just eat it cold as to not risk reheating it too many times. 3 hours later she was throwing up. Don’t go here.

Their coffee is exceptional, crafted with care and high-quality beans that you can taste in every sip. I tried a flat white, which was smooth and perfectly balanced – you can tell they really know their coffee here. Their menu also has a great selection of pastries and snacks, each beautifully presented and delicious, making it hard to pick just one! The staff were friendly and enthusiastic, clearly passionate about what they do and happy to chat about their favorite menu items. Even during busier hours, the service was prompt and the team seemed genuinely engaged with customers, which added to the positive experience. For anyone near the station looking for a spot that offers both convenience and quality, Break and Milk is a must-visit. It’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself returning to again and again. I know I definitely will!

Great selections of pastries and toasties. I bought a chicken caesar sandwich to go for hiking, it was delicious and filling. However, the coffee was watery. Maybe it would be different if was in a dine-in cup.

I was on a business trip in Brighton and this was my go to cafe in Brighton every single day ever since I discovered it . It has a great atmosphere, lovely staff members who are pleasant and fast. everything looked clean and up to par, tasty coffee. If I lived in Brighton I’d continue to go there daily

Popped in for a flat white. It tasted okay but the texture was very poor, watery rather than creamy.

Best coffee shop. Being from Australia, I'm particular with my coffee, and this place absolutely nails it. Breakfast sandwich was great, too. Staff is always lovely and never too long of a wait to be served and to receive your drinks. Even though it's in a busy part of town, I always manage to get a seat, and it gets a lot of lovely sun outside. Don't skip this place.

The staff at Bread & Milk are incredibly friendly, the service was efficient, and despite its location and independence is very reasonably-priced (I paid £4.30 for an iced latte including a caramel syrup). I would definitely recommend this coffee shop :)

Absolutely disgusting sandwich which had to be thrown away

Popped by this morning for the first time, had a latte & a hazelnut croissant. The croissant was really good, the coffee was wonderful (not bitter at all), the staff were friendly and I enjoyed my time. The cafe was very naturally bright, being in a sunny spot, which really stood out to me and added a lot to the atmosphere. I will be recommending this spot to my friends 💛

Our 2nd visit to the Bread & Milk and it didn't disappoint on either visit. The sandwiches are delicious and generous. Coffee is excellent and cakes look yummy but we resisted the urge. The staff are friendly and helpful, with a nice atmosphere, just a short walk from the main throng of the North Lanes. Worth a try if you're nearby.

Very expensive. But tasty. Got a Matcha Latte and bacon and tomato sandwich. Outside lovely but it a busy walking path.

This place was spot on! It’s light, vibrant, lively and so tasty. The array of sandwiches is top notch, especially the pesto, pastrami and mozzarella, chefs kiss, and the pastries. The drinks selection covers all the basics with few creative juices as well. For a bite out in the sun on the cute tables out the front, a quick coffee or bite to eat as you walk the lanes, this is the place I’ll be heading back to. The service was cracking as well, Very friendly and efficient :)

I have popped in here a few times now for a coffee and cake. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. Do try the banana and chocolate bread. My wife prefers it heated up by I find it nicer cold. The only slight drawback is the proximity of the toilet to the cooking area.

Amazing and beautifully made sourdough baps, rolls and sandwiches! We spent a couple of days in Brighton and came across Bread and Milk accidentally so we went back the next day too.....we're planning on working our way through the entire selection as we come to Brighton regularly. The only downside is the inside sitting space which is tiny....we had to do a bit of strolling and return to get a seat indoors as it was freezing outside so too cold to take advantage of their outside tables, however it was worth it. The fillings are so generous, the sauces are so tasty and the prices are so reasonable it's worth the wait.... the drinks are great too, staff are friendly and there's a toilet for patrons!

Second time I’ve come in at 7:30am when they open, I notice the croissants are always stale..? You’d think being there first thing in the morning they would be fresh out the oven but they’re definitely from yesterdays batch. First time I assumed it was a mistake but second time it’s clearly just their practice to charge you 7£ for a coffee and a stale croissant. Kinda scandalous if you ask me.

Good coffee and food, been here a few times as it's close to a parking spot and wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff (weren't upset with me when I thought they opened earlier) and decently priced so might drop by again next time.

Lovely atmosphere, good coffee and cake, would have been 5 stars but the service was a little slow and an item was forgotten.

So friendly and polite and welcoming, relaxed atmosphere and the food and drinks are so good, the salted caramel brownie is delicious.

Sandwiches were pretty good tried halloumi. I asked for a long black it wasn’t what I expected. Overall a good place for a quick bite. Outside sitting area a bit small but nice.

Highly recommend this cafe if you visit Brighton. My partner and I went for breakfast and fell in love with their breakfast bap. The bread is crispy but soft at the same time, inside there were sausages, bacon, salad leaves and tomato. We chose to add eggs inside and this choice just made the bap more delicious. We also ordered blueberry bakewell, cinnamon bun, Nutella croissant, carrot cake for take away. They were all tasty. We will definitely visit again when we go to Brighton.

Absolutely disgusting! I have been having nausea ever since I ate a tuna-cheese sandwich. It was supposed to be tuna mayo and I realized it was melted cheese. This combination is absolutely rediculous since it can actually cause stomach sickness! Atrocity!

Great cafe, great cakes, great staff. Ticks all the important boxes. Recommendations would be the chocolate brownie type cake, sugaryest thing I've ever tasted 10/10.

Service was terrible today, as always, on a Saturday morning the place was very busy. Yet one of the four staff member occupied a table space for her break, and customers had now where to eat/drink. They’ve got these fancy Tea pots which staff don’t understand. Two much tea was used and it was over filled and so when it drains into the cup, it caused a flood. No apologies, implications were it was our fault. Tea ended up being over brewed as well. Get a grip people! Grilled cheeses here are ace. Hence two stars.

One of the best coffees I've had in Brighton, the cappuccino had the perfect amount of froth. Very limited indoor seating but a nice modern and light interior.

I used to come here pre covid19. Staff were so polite and kind. Now, they’re so rude and argumentative, and not willing to make for you what you want. Very disappointed with this attitude.

Went to this lovely cafe to get a few hours of work done. Great free wifi! The staff were really sweet, and the chai latte I had was one of the best I’ve had! A pot of tea was around £2.50 which is a lot cheaper than other places. The chai latte was a standard £3.00 or so. Definitely will be coming back, great cafe to sit outside and people watch or get some work done.

Friendly. Very large toasties. Had the reuben- only complaint was there was only a single slice of pastrami which couldn't cover all the sandwich. Sausages were also very coarse.

Best breakfast bap I've had in a while! :) And they open at 7:30 so you can actually have breakfast before everything opens up and gets busy. The coffee is very good but a bit on the small side for my liking.

If you’re looking to grab a quick bite to eat and want something that’s tasty, freshly made and filling, Bread and Milk is the place to go. They make fresh sandwiches and toasties that are satisfying and a great bite to eat. They do a really nice iced coffee too. They were doing a fancy Nutella filled croissant when I last visited which was filled with the perfect amount of Nutella among the many layers of pastry! It was… incredibly delicious!

THE ABSOLUTELY BEST COFFEE IN BRIGHTON. Their cappuccino’s froth is the same you get in Italy, their shop is lovely and chill and the staff js super friendly!! The quality for the price is really good too. N’1 coffee recommendation in Brighton for sure - also their almond croissant is to die for.

Great place - breakfast and lunch menu is superb and the lunchtime melts are especially recommended. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good mix of inside and outside seating. Well worth a visit.

Came here on Sunday and had a really nice vegan sausage toasted sandwich. The smoothie I had was lovely, however it was very overpriced. Either way, I enjoyed my food and drink, and would definitely recommend.

We sat outside in the sunshine and ate fantastic sandwiches. I think they were called 'Reuben' good value for money.

I could go any day for the carrot cake. It has friendly staff and it's clean. ❣️
