I have had some lovely food here. Once, we even had a polite server! This place is the ground zero for the new local pastime of complacent groups making a day out of milling around outside eateries. Dystopia with poached eggs.

Popped in yesterday, had to wait for a table but worth it. The food was fresh, the veggie sausage roll was so good, great sized portions and tasty coffee. Good service, the two girls were kind and chatty, and worked well together considering how busy it was. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Hash browns 10/10. Thanks 🙌

This place is so worth the wait for a table. Had stornoway black pudding with poached eggs on sourdough....was out of this world , also bought a few cakes to take home....the raspberry and coconut cake is the best cake I've had, so fresh and just moist enough, can't wait to return.

First of all I would like to say that bramble is one of the best spots for breakfast & brunch but the customer service and some members of the staff, one in particular leaves you with no desire to come, despite having the excellent food, a few times when I have came alongside with other people, they have also shared and other people online also have shared their similar experiences with the service of the place have agreed that this is a constant issue with a certain demographic compared to other customers. Having experienced this a few times I had brushed it off thinking maybe it would be an off day for them but then the server had turned to the next table with a completely different attitude and demeanour, she was rushed with us and didn’t even bother with small talk despite our attempt, and with the next table she took her time and gave them a lovely conversation. The small actions make a huge difference towards how customers feel to the establishment, as mentioned at the start the food is divine yet it is such a shame because the service has put many people off and many people are aware of some staff’s attitude towards certain minorities. Also we had been in just when it hit 3pm, knowing they close at 4 there were a few people inside we had went to the door and the woman just brushed her hand to us to say we are closed as we seen the door closed, without even having a small conversation of hey, we are closed or we are no longer serving people, just a small interaction would be fine but a brush of the hand to gesture bye and not to come in was completely unnecessary and as mentioned small interactions make a huge impact on a customer, we had then felt uncomfortable with that interaction and went to a cafe nearby, it truly is a shame of how this had turned into a horrible experience with a lovely little place.

Dropped into Bramble for a quick bite before Christmas. We were fortunate enough to get a seat straightway. I was tempted to go for the chicken waffles *again* but the specials board had me hooked – the Festive Focaccia, £11. Think Christmas dinner between a nice focaccia: turkey, stuffing, bacon, and a sprout slaw, with brie and chilli jam to tie it all together. An absolute beast of a sandwich. If I was being picky, the bread was a touch dense, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Every element worked well individually, but when combined, it was a proper festive feast in every bite. This is the best brunch spot in Glasgow for me, so expect to wait 1hr+ for a table - but you can walk around Queens Park.

Bramble was always our favourite place to go for coffee and brunch when we lived in the area. We hadn't been for a while and returned this morning - so glad it is still as we remembered. We were first in the door at 9am so had no wait and chose our favourite table at the window, and though the place quickly filled up the service remained attentive and friendly. The food & coffee was delicious and beautifully presented. Thank you 🩷

Had an amazing brunch turned lunch here. I got the hot chocolate and the vegan flatbread with added poached egg. It was so flavourful! I was absolutely stuffed. The staff were really friendly. Uniforunate they don't take bookings so it's just your luck. But they will take your name down if there is no space and give you a call when table is ready. We waited 45mins but it was a nice day so walked around Queens park while we waited. Have to say the food was worth the wait. Highly recommend.

Very disappointing experience. Checked the opening times online, said they closed at 4pm. Arrived at 3:05 to be told by a very rude waitress that the kitchen closed at 3. We'd walked quite some way and my partner was on crutches with a broken arm and leg, but they were very dismissive. Shouldn't advertise that they're open until 4 if they close the kitchens at 3, without stating that. It's a cafe, not a Michelin starred restaurant! Went to the Stag and Thistle instead and were treated with kindness and respect.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the service I received during my recent visit to your cafe, which I have always considered a favorite spot for both my clients and family. This morning, I brought a delegation from China to introduce them to your cafe. While I understand that it was a busy day and we were willing to wait 40 minutes for our table, the service we experienced was disappointing. The staff member in pink seemed overwhelmed and was not communicating effectively. When our food arrived, she placed the plate on the table with such force that it startled us. I inquired about the hash browns on the plate, as I couldn’t see them, and instead of responding politely, she pointed at the plate from a distance, which felt quite rude. Additionally, when I requested black pepper and my coffee, it appeared that she was begrudgingly fulfilling my requests, which is not the level of service I expect from your establishment. I believe that with the outstanding quality of your food, it is essential to maintain a high standard of service. I recommend considering additional staff during busy periods to ensure that customers receive the attentive service they deserve.

I had specifically told the waitress i wanted french toast a few times however after waiting 30 mins or so , the wrong thing came (got served pancakes) . Went here with my friend who recommended the restaurant / cafe for lunch. Bookings are not taken here like a few other places in the Southside, upon arrival staff will give a (usually pretty accurate, according to my friend) estimate of how long the wait will be, and if you don’t mind the wait you’ll need to leave your name and contact number. Waiting times can be anywhere between 15 minutes to 2 hours, we were given 45 minutes on this occasion and we went for a wander about around the local shops. They do have some benches just outside, but weather can be unpredictable in Glasgow. Do be aware that as they welcome customisation of their menu items to a certain degree, you need to be clear with staff whether you’re taking an option that is on the menu or if you’re wanting something extra to what is offered. I tried their Veggie Haggis listed under Hollandaise, with a couple slices of halloumi. I thought it must have been their best dish on the menu until my friend offered a taste of her Oyster Mushroom Toast. It was magical. Before this day I honestly thought I already knew where the nicest places for food were in Glasgow. It wasn’t hard to tell a lot of thought was put into the dishes we had, made with quality ingredients. The hot chocolate came with a nice presentation, but that was pretty much it besides turning lukewarm very quickly. Didn’t feel particularly smooth. If you are in the area, you want to come here for brunch / try and see if you are in luck for a nice lunch. Service was friendly and welcoming.

Without a doubt, *the* best brunch I’ve had in Glasgow. Consistently reliable in its quality of food and service, you could pick anything at random on the menu and you’d likely come away satisfied and delighted. There’s often a wait of 1 hour/1 hour 30 mins-ish for a table but I assure you, it’s worth it (and the prices are very reasonable) - plus that gives you time to visit the nearby coffee shops, bakeries, and stroll about Queen’s Park while you wait in justified anticipation.

My first visit to Bramble today and it certainly won’t be my last. I was surprised by how busy it was during the week but I now understand why. I approached the doors and was greeted by a lovely lady who advised there would be a short wait for a table and asked if I wanted to wait on the benches outside. Sure enough I was soon called in and situated in a cosy corner by the window with my baby in pram. Staff opened the door for us, were extremely attentive throughout our visit and they were all so, so friendly. It is always daunting going out for lunch yourself, even more so with a young baby, but I felt so relaxed and actually managed to enjoy my birthday lunch. The food was great, as was the coffee. Service was quick despite how busy they were. The place was clean and I really appreciated the sturdy baby changing unit (silly but makes all the difference when you have a 100th percentile baby!). They also very kindly gave me a piece of cake to take away as it is my birthday. Thank you again Team Bramble. You have made my day. I will most definitely be back.

Great brunch spot! I had the vegan bacon, maple syrup and blueberry pancakes and they were really good, you probably wouldn’t even be able to tell they were vegan. Service was really great, we were there on a Tuesday afternoon and there was only one waitress and one barista, from what I could see they worked really well together and super seamlessly to the point I honestly nearly didn’t notice how few staff were on. We did try to come here on a Sunday previously but they were full, so make sure you’re willing to wait for a bit or go at one of there quieter times. Would definitely come back for brunch again in future, thank you to the staff for such a good experience!

Being a regular at this cafe, and previously leaving a 5 star review, I’ve had to update to a 1 star. My son was going to treat me here for my birthday today, as it’s my favourite brunch place, but on leaving my mobile number after being advised a half hour wait for a table, we went for a walk in Queens Park. We waited from 1.05pm to 2pm and no phone call. So we gave up and went else where and still no phone call. Very disappointed, won’t be back until a booking system is introduced.

Be aware: when you ask for scrambled eggs, they charge an extra £2 on top of the listed price, and you only find out when it's time to pay! When I complained, they claimed they'd used more than two eggs in upsetting way as if i don't have the right to ask, but I doubt you can fit four eggs on a slice of bread with smoked salmon. I would have accepted that if they have asked me when i ordered. Simply i would happily paid the extra or just asked for the 2 eggs but they chose dishonesty and they have lost a customer, and I'm sure others will follow.

Banging. There was a 2 hour wait for a seat. However they do the whole menu take out and you get to order it through a window. We got our food faster than if we had sat down. The park is close by and across the road there is a area behind some bushes that I think you can sit to eat. Which would have been cute. We opted to go and sit by all the pigeons who didn't want to eat any waffle

The staff is lovely, when I had a problem with my drink they were very quick to fix it and made sure I was happy with the fix! If it weren’t for how good the food is this place would divebomb. I’ve never left a review for anywhere before but from the 2 times I’ve been in person and the phone call I’ve had, I can easily say that the service at bramble is actually terrible. Literally just off the phone to the most abrupt lady, wouldn’t let me finish my sentence and talked to me like I’m daft. Was enquiring about how long a wait would be if we were to appear at half 1 just so we have an idea of the wait time. Knowing that they don’t take bookings I began with saying “I know you don’t take bookings but…” and before I could finish the word I was being cut off with “we don’t do reservations you have to turn up and be put on a waitlist” - I just said that - so then I say if I turn up at half 1…” and AGAIN the lady cut me off to tell me “it’ll be a 2 hour wait”; I understand you may have to tell people this quite often but by Christ I’ve already made you aware that I know the score I’m just wanting a heads up so being that rude and abrupt is a joke. I imagine they’re a busy place right now so will likely be stressed but if you’re going to be rude then don’t bother picking up the phone. Have been twice already and both times the food has been great but the service is genuinely bad.

The food is really good, I can't deny that, but I can't abide the waiting list system. It's walk-ins only and they tell you how long it may be for a table. This could be 15 minutes, could be an hour, or, at the weekend, it could be 2 hours. They take your number and tell you they'll call you when a table is ready. It's so unreliable and poorly organised. When you do eventually get a table, the staff are also very slow to serve you but very quick to clear your plates. I'm begging this cafe to put an actual booking system in place, otherwise it's just a frustrating experience that makes me actively avoid coming here. Also the staff may actually like their jobs and not treat you terribly if they didn't have to deal with the chaos of handwriting names and phone numbers.

Window opens - ordered, window closed. Waited for 15mins for a single coffee on an average cold Friday afternoon (no one else waiting outside and average busy inside). Don’t see much point in a take away service if it would take as long to sit in. £3.80, coffee was ok.

I had the lasagna and quite honestly is was terrible. The sauce was weak and the meat was as grey as an African elephant. In fairness, the waiter apologised and did offer freebies but frankly if the lasagna was anything to go by it was wise to steer clear. The bill took several requests before it finally arrived and the rather awful lasagna hadn't been take off, even though it had been sent back to maker. My partner's meal was ok, the salad was fresh and the fish tasted of fish...so pot luck!

Not the best food I've ever had and given my wife is Italian was unlike any Italian food I've had in 50 years. Food cold as was the restaurant with 2 out of the tasting menu having pass marks. Waitresses terrific apart from one who practically whipped my wife's plate away when she hadn't actually finished. Very disappointed, won't be back.
