Lovely spot for overnight stay in large grass garden/field at back of carpark. £10. Close by railway & canal. Good Banks's beer in the sunny garden with delightful friendly company. The 85 yr old landlord is about to retire after 25 yrs at the end of this month. Unsure of the future of this Marstons pub. An ideal place for many events including a regular 300 classic car rally. Close to Webbs Garden Centre, huge retail outlet, including Lakelands, Cotswold a Restaurant & cafe. Close to NT Hanbury Hall & Avoncroft Buildings Museum. Much enjoyed stay in this rural area.....

We stayed here 8n our motorhome on the way home from Somerset. It is a proper pub with no heirs and gravies. Good ales including mild with pub grub at a very good price. The pub seems to be a meeting place for locals who c9me in for a good natter and some banter before going home. Overall a good old fashioned pub where people talk and enjoy people company.

Can't help but be slightly offended by having to pay for our food before it was cooked... Just like McDonald's. However, following the response from the owner, I think it's only fair to take on-board what they said and provide a rating based on overall food, drink, service, and atmosphere - hence changing my overall rating from 2 stars to 3.

A proper little, unpretentious pub. Nice selection of beers. Wines... ??? Red , white and pink.. Large car park , outdoor seating area around the bowling green. Clean , genuine old world interior. It's quiet, ideal for a pint and a conversation. 'Home cooked' food can be enjoyed at times. I've both enjoyed food there and been told " we're not doing food today ", the latter whilst I was watching people eating their meals. Heyho... I'll still pop in for a pint.

Lovely old country pub with an established bowling green at the rear. Seems to be tied to Marston's as the ale choice was unexciting, although the Wainwright Golden was in good shape. I took advantage of a cheese cob with side salad for a bargain £1.50 and this was OK, although I would be happy to pay more for a better roll than the soft, doughy and tasteless bap that arrived. All in all though, a nice place to while away an hour.

I used to love this pub always welcoming and friendly when I lived down the road. Recently I arranged to go there with friends and phoned the night before to book. I was told no need. When the four of us arrived we were told there was no space, I explained my call and we could see space in the bar area. The man behind the bar was not bothered and told us we could not be fitted in. Instead we drove to the Navigation inn, were welcomed, fitted in and had lovely food.

We last visited this pub over 40 years ago, though we've driven past it loads of times since. We called in 'on spec' today, what a lovely surprise! Warm, friendly, very good beer, Wainwright's, a really nice old pub with no pretences. We didn't eat but the menu was full of good, simple meals your mum would have cooked for you; all at very affordable prices. It has a fair size carpark, grassy play areas, a bowling green and is close to the canal. It's also on the route of walks in the countryside. It's too easy to say we'll be back but, we'll definitely be back soon.

Thought we’d drop in to this pub and have something to eat. So glad we did as it was lovely. The lounge was traditional, welcoming and ‘olde worlde’. It actually reminded us of one of our favourite pubs in the Yorkshire Dales. Our meals took a little while to come but they were definitely worth the wait. Delicious, piping hot and ‘proper’ cooked chips. None of this fancy ‘square plates and squiggly patterns’ stuff. Wholesome tasty food, good value and accompanied by a relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back in the very near future.

I came here for the first time with some friends who were showing off classic cars. The place was busy and people were eating pub food. There is nothing fancy about this pub but it has a following of people who like unspoilt country pubs. The menu is extensive and vegetarians are catered for. If you like a traditional country pub you will do well here. This is a basic pub. I wish they sold basic ordinary crisps. The upmarket crisps I was forced to buy were not in keeping with the way this pub presents itself.

Don't think I have ever encountered such miserable staff. Not all, but the carvery guy and a few others acted like it was a real effort to serve us. Given the fact we were a very large party and it's christmas it would have been nice to feel a warm atmosphere.

Lovely farm shop, with a nice selection of produce. There's a meat counter, fruit and vegetables, preserves and a wide selection of condiments, beers, cider and wine, bread, pastries and cakes. The restaurant is clean, with a variety of options, from brunches and snacks to more filling meals. My daughter had a latte and a blondie, which she really enjoyed, while I had the apple and blackberry crumble, which was a bit disappointing. It was a small tart and the pastry tasted quite oily, and left an unpleasant after taste. I think I'd like to try a savoury dish next time. Pleasant atmosphere, although the café was rather cold with constant coming and going. All in all a very nice farm shop.
