Saffron Lounge in Wychavon

Ordered takeaway, tropical masala. Menu said lamb, chicken & king prawn but I didn't realise it literally meant ONE king prawn, and that was in its shell ! In a thick sauce! Nearly choked on it. Lamb was hard. At least it was delivered in 35 minutes tonight instead of the usual 1hr 30mins+ Haven't ordered from here in a long time, now I remember why. Think we'll be going back to Evesham Balti. More expensive and their dishes are often swimming in ghee (which is why we changed), but at least when you order a dish with king prawns there's more than one, they're beautifully tender and they're not still in their shell.

Ordered food at 5.14pm still hadn’t turned up at 7pm, kids were starving and ready for bed, no call to say the food was delayed or no discount offered for the inconvenience caused, will not be ordering from here again!!

Normally have no complaints but the korma was half cold and half hot , the plain naan tastes what I could only describe as soap and the popadoms were like soft as if they were old , partner didn’t like his garlic naan either as it tasted like nothing and was soggy , not sure what happened as it’s normally so nice, not sure we will be ordering again anytime soon , couldn’t eat half of it. Disappointed

Took almost 2 hrs for delivery to arrive and that was after 2 phone calls to restaurant being told it had already left for delivery. When it did arrive it was all cold so it all had to go in the microwave to be re heated. Food itself ok but nothing special. Just don't expect to have to pay an extra £7 for service fee and delivery to have to microwave it all when it gets here . Very disssapointed to be honest.

we ordered two main meals. one was outstanding, full of tender meat and flavoursome. the other meal was a little disappointing, full of flavour but the meat was a little tough.

Food very good after eventually arriving. Ordered at 18.10 arrived 19.55 (Sunday night). My main concern was it would be cold as had a notification saying driver had left and food turned 40mins after that. Luckily was still hot and good quality.

order was one hour late and when it arrived it was all cold and I mean cold. what else can I say. I had phoned the restaurant and they said it was on its way but that was when it was 45 mins late I asked what time the meal had left and he could not answer. I was promised a call back that did not happen. driver arrived felt in bag completely cold. I asked him to take it back. he said the traffic was bad sorry. you will get refund please take the food. I wonder if the refund will be given. lol

Authentic Indian restaurant, traditional menu with all the items you expect plus a few extra Bangladeshi style dishes if you're looking for that truly home style cooking. Tables are large with plenty of space for big groups, service was good with friendly staff Everything was just very good quality, lamb was super tender. Prawn Puri was fresh and not oily. Portion sizes were good. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit!

Had delivery. After hearing so much, being the best in town!.... poppadoms all in a million pieces. Mint yoghurt completely off colour. Not to taste too.. rice was over cooked bland. The garlic prawns swimming in oil.. the naan burnt. the madras was not the taste of a normal madras.. such a shame.. were really looking forward to our meal. But will stick to the Raj, and to eat in evesham balti.. they have never let us down...

Poor customer service. Delivery half an hour late. Tried phoning and they hung up on us . Phoned back and got answer phone.

Hard earnt money wasted thought we’d give them a try instead of our normal Indian due to popularity, food really wasn’t enjoyable.

First time trying and wasted £40 really not happy, blandest curry we’ve ever had was like milk half the plate was water, the nicest thing were the chips

Ordered food on Saturday night, waited 40 minutes later which was not overly bad I could live with that but the main meal chicken balti and chips were freezing cold. Usually my go to restaurant. When we called in I was told there was 15 people in front of us as they were busy and would call us back at 9pm as manager has popped out. £30 later and still hungry 😡😡

My go to restaurant for a decent takeaway curry. Staff and management polite and always accommodating. If you like a hot and flavoursome curry you cannot beat their lamb saag vindaloo. Simply delicious. Over the years have tried other curries on the menu and these too are good quality and full of flavour. Service typically quick (depending how busy they are in the restaurant) but they always tell you when to collect and food is always fresh and hot.

Placed a delivery only had 4 prawns in my curry thought for £11.99 was expensive just to much sauce …

Food is very average and chef is scared to use salt so anything that's not sweet is tasteless

I ordered some food for 4 people on Saturday evening. It took nearly 2 hours to arrive . I thought that I can live with that if the food was excellent. Unfortunately it wasn't that good. The starters which were chicken tikka and supposed to be cooked in a tandoor tasted really rubbery. The fish starters were poor in taste and portions. I think the fish was a goldfish because of the small portion. The mains were edible but not great. It all cost 81.00 pounds. Really expensive for poor food. Never again.

Ordered through just eat, said it would be delivered at 8:20. Was waiting an hour and 10 minutes, phoned up to see what had happened and was told it had left the kitchen 20 minutes ago. We only live 5 minutes drive away. Finally after an hour a half it turned up. Food was stone cold, chips soggy. Madras was greasy and oily. So many other better takeaways around the area with better customer service and standard of food avoid this one at all costs.

We took a large party here for a works night out and the service was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was brilliant and we all had a great experience. Can’t wait to have a return visit.

The Saffron Lounge recently provided food for a buffet for 40 people at a ERFC. We collected the food 15mins before serving and it was very well prepared/foiled and kept hot. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend. Thanks for helping with a great night.

Nice interior - staff very polite and helpful - food a little bland for my taste - although my friend loved hers. Taking your own drinks made it cheap - and they serve a decent big cup of lovely coffee. Would go back and maybe try a different dish

Different to your average Indian restaurant, really great food and they seem to use different spice to most other restaurants making it a great visit. Also bring your own drink

Not long since I last ordered and the chicken was pink inside when I called up they claimed there was nothing they could do, no refund even though I had a picture of the curry raw not ordering again

Ordered a takeaway no taste to the balti very watery very disappointed nanbread tasted like dough onion bargi was terrible first ear in meal was excellent but the takeaway is crapp thats why I left 2 stars I have now dropped the star rating down to one star ,reason I dined in this time the starter was very salty couldn't eat it, main meal was watery, it is hit and miss with this restaurant, the only place to get a decent curry is birmingham, now

Nice staff, good curry but the breads are always awful. Thin roti , no flavour and the version of peshwari naan is a plain naan drizzled in honey and again thin and dry. Need a new tandoor I think

Rubbish customer service. Called twice asking where my order was and lied to twice. How can you trust a company they bare face lies to its customers. Anyway still waiting for my food. Last time these sharks take £50 off me. Take my advise and avoid.

Food was ok, nothing special. But the reason for 1 star was the disgusting behaviour from the staff. Looking at women up and down as they walked to the toilets and giving each other nods and smirks as they walked past, made me feel sick. These women are trying to have a nice meal out with their partners. No wonder women feel so unsafe nowadays. Again absolutely disgusting 🤢

Called in tonight for a meal and we were very impressed. We were well looked after. The food was amazing. Very tasty, good portion sizes and good value. We would definitely recommend. Inside has been done out and it has a very lovely atmosphere too

We were trying to find somewhere that could serve us pre the new 10 pm curfew and Saffron managed to get our food out to us in record time leaving us 20 minutes to get to eat. The food was really really nice: onion bhaji, king prawn puree, king prawn burying, lamb curry and rice plus naan and poppadums. If i am ever passing through again I will definitely visit again and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Thank you for your help was a life saver midway through a 6 hour drive and the quality of the food was a massive bonus

Rather roomy place lacking in atmosphere. The vegetarian food is a bit insipid. I don't really recommend this place there are better veggie options in town

Dazzlingly good food. I live in Cheltenham and regularly go to Evesham for this gorgeous curry. Bring your own drink makes it super cheap as well. Great staff although service can be a little slow but always with the wait.

Evesham has many Indian restaurants but Saffron Lounge has to be one of the best. The staff are always friendly and accommodating for you, even if you turn up without a booking they will try their best to look after you (although booking is recommended on weekends). The menu has a wide range of dishes, and is very friendly to vegetarians. All the food is very affordable and generous in portion sizes, plus it’s bring your own booze so you can buy cheap wine or whatever you fancy beforehand with no premium pricing!! They offer a really strange but tasty chocolate masala if you fancy that. Whether you’re on the mild side or the very spicy side, they have a huge variety of flavours and everything is really delicious.
