What a lovely cafe, staff are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. Food is great, can't fault it. It was a lovely experience.

You should come here for Sunday lunch! I came with my family and all three generations thought the food tasted great. Just make sure you're hungry if you order the roast, it's a big serving. The staff are friendly and attentive, even during a busy service. The value is excellent and more so if you compare it the pubs in the area. In short you'd be crazy to go anywhere else for a Sunday roast.

We come here often as their plants are excellent and we usually stop for lunch when we do so our kids can play. The cafe staff are always friendly and polite and there's always a nice selection of meals for both adults and children. I'd love to have lunch overlooking the koi pond but, alas, the kids demand we sit and watch them play. A really lovely garden centre and cafe.

We arrived in the middle of lunchtime on a saturday, plenty of seating to be found , lovely outdoor area looking over the pond. service was impeccable, the chef was happy to make small adjustments to the food that we ordered, food arrived quick, it was well cooked and amazingly tasty, there was loads of it, we had to take some home as we couldn’t finish it all. sad to say we didn’t try any of the cakes ( as usual on a diet) but they looked absolutely to die for.

This is one of the best cafes/restaurants around and their food is certainly on par, if not better, than local restaurants. We have been coming here almost every weekend for the last 7 years. Service is great and the staff are very friendly and accommodating in regards to food allergies. Fantastic range of ‘specials’ which never fail to impress.

What a wonderful Cafe,so much choice of food all looking delicious, spoilt for choice.Been there many times and thoroughly enjoyed every meal.the staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble,and being disabled access is very easy.Tracy runs a very smooth Cafe.

We've eaten here at least half a dozen times and always been really pleased with the whole experience. The staff are friendly, the cafe is spacious, bright and clean, and the food is really tasty with very generous portions. Absolutely lovely place and people, and to top it off the garden centre and large koi carp pond are gorgeous.

Have been eating there for over a year and found staff are always happy and helpful, cheerful and courteous, menu is varied, food is delicous and presented well, cafe is clean and bright with lovely outside seating area, definitely worth a visit for your meal in great surroundings in a relaxed and friendly athmosphere.

We are regular diners here; be it a snack, a cream tea, afternoon teas, a breakfast, main meal or a wonderful Sunday lunch (we've tried them all) the food is always delicious, served with a friendly smiling face and great value for money! The very best garden centre cafe in Devon, indeed I'd say the best cafe and our family agree too! Sometimes I feel guilty as I don't always buy a plant, they're fantastic quality too but we always end up with another fish for our aquarium! Highly recommended in every way.

My wife and I had the Gardeners Breakfast last week. Really delicious Beautifully cooked and presented. We also had the latte in a lovely colourful mug. (Best latte we have had anywhere) We are both disabled and walk with sticks. But without asking the staff offered to carry our tray to the table. Excelent service and such cheerful staff. It was a pleasure for us to eat there. We used to come to the cafe a few years ago but due to health reasons havent been for some time. Looking forward to many visits in the future.

Found this place by accident while house sitting for family in Haterleigh. drove past on the friday came back on the saturday for brekfast. what a place a fantastic find. lovely clean airy resturant. staff polite and friendly. brekfast one of the best i have had for a long time will have no hesetation in comming back again when we next come to house sit.

Great place to stop on a long journey, or if you are local and a keen gardener, or with family or meeting friends. I only stopped for coffee, but I could have spent much longer there: as well as a great variety of plants and garden necessities, they also sell gifts and tropical fish, besides which there is even a post office. Friendly helpful staff and a nice selection of food available. If you sit outside you are surrounded by the plants and there is a little rivulet running through the site giving a lovely sound.

Really nice place. Visit here regularly with the whole family, nice and safe little indoor play area as well as an outside park area for young children. Coffee is excellent and the food is really good too, really good service. Always enjoy our times here.

A wonderful spot to sit outside with a meal or hot drink. Tables are available under shelter as well should the weather be bad (probably a good thing given this summer! 😱) Their breakfasts are superb and at an excellent price as well. they also employ extremely competent and, more imprtantly, friendly staff. Shame I can offer only 5 stars! 😄

Great place , like a tardis, people are so friendly and helpful, we had tea/coffee and scones, absolutely delicious. We travel around many places on the motorbike and visit lots of different places and has been meaning to stop there for ages and we’re are glad we did. We checked out the menu and watched all the different dishes being served up etc, great selection of cakes , wide choice etc. Thanks to Jackie staff member in the cafe shop, who spent time to chat with us. Plenty of spaces inside or out and all the food looked fabulous. We will be back sooner rather than later. Plenty to see in the garden/aquatic centre 👍👍👍

First trip for husband & I to this garden centre. The aim was to buy a tree & have lunch to celebrate his birthday. The restaurant was busy & I can see why. Husband had a towering bacon cheeseburger & I had ham, egg & chips. Both were super. The chef that day was Caroline - she did a fabulous job in a very busy kitchen. All the staff were helpful & the restaurant was clean & nicely presented. We will definitely return.

We visited here as part of our trip to Devon for our anniversary, we wanted to have an afternoon tea and had booked a table here prior to travelling. Luckily we had lovely weather and when we arrived we were given a table outside adjacent to the pond which had some very large Koi carp swimming around. The service was very friendly and efficient, and the afternoon tea was really lovely and great value. We would definitely visit again if in the area, and can highly recommend this to anyone travelling to this neck of the woods.

Today we went to the waterside cafe at bow garden centre and we were very disappointed, this was our fourth visit , my fish cakes were yuck and the scampi were wet and uncooked and the soup was inedible, admittedly we did eat most of it (not the soup) that was really awful! I know it was the first week after lockdown but did expect better !! And didnt get our £1 off as all four were pensioners !! Dont think we'll be going back

Lovely Christmas Meal at Waterside Cafe this week. Good menu choice, licensed, friendly staff.Great place to stop for coffee or lunch with good selection of cakes, scones etc. Excellent daily menu too. There is seating available outside too.(Corona virus procedures in the cafe very good).Look around the garden centre and shop while you are there.

Yet again, the Waterside came up trumps for an occasion! Undercover, yet outside, so very safe, we had a lovely lunch, just perfect for what we wanted! Our puppy was happy to be with us too! The service is always very warm and friendly. Thank you everyone!

A really lovely cafe tgat we visit regularly . The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the food is great. They do a fabulous cooked breakfast, substantial main meals and delicious home made cakes. There is a lovely light and spacious eating area, which is particularly welcome in the current circumstances.

Living in Bow I visit the Waterside Cafe regularly. It's a pleasant friendly place to get breakfast or lunch, or just a coffee. It was rebuilt and expanded a few years ago when the garden centre changed hands, so it's much larger (and much nicer) than it used to be.It has a small soft play area and outdoor play area for kids, and there's an open seating area for when the weather's good. The food is good with a pretty extensive menu, with loads of fresh cakes always available if you don't want too much to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful with quick service even when it's busy. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Nipped in for a veggie breakfast with my husband - lovely welcome and table service, which was polite and timely. Food was great - particularly good veggie sausages.

The ‘Eat out‘ scheme was on so there was a small queue which was expected Lovely friendly staff took our order and food did not take long to arrive. Was pleasently suprised at the size of the portions for the price we paid , freshly cooked and piping hot. We will definitely be back another time when back in the area and highly recomend well done and thank you.

Since moving nearby three years ago we have been very regular visitors to the Cafe. We have had breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and just popped in at times for a cuppa and cake. No matter what time we arrive, or how busy they are, both the service and food have been fantastic. Sunday roasts are sublime . During the current COVID climate, they are scrupulously clean and have the customers safety and comfort as their priority. We have no hesitation in recommending this marvellous find in the country.

Myself, sister and niece always visit when they stay on holiday. We visited on a 'Eat out to help out' day. We had quite a wait of 45minutes to order our food. We ordered hot food and a tuna mayo sandwich, the lady went to the cabinet and asked if it was ok on wholemeal, I asked if we could have white as she doesn't like wholemeal. The lady in question made us feel as if we were being a nuisance for asking for a sandwich on white bread, it's the sort of thing that makes you not want to go back to eat again! We then waited about 20minutes for food which was nice when it did arrive but part of the service was a huge put off for me today.

Popped in for lunch after a recommendation from a family member. The ‘Eat out‘ scheme was on so there was a small queue which was expected but not a problem as it gave us chance to look at the huge choice on the menu. Lovely friendly staff took our order and food did not take long to arrive. Portions were big, freshly cooked and piping hot. My lasagne was the best I’d tasted. We will definitely be back another time for some of the delicious cakes as we didn’t have room this visit!

Stopped at the Waterside cafe today for cake and coffees and a bacon roll. Queued for service which was excruciatingly slow. Had to ask for spoons for the coffee and a knife to spread the butter on a scone, which was handed over hreluctantly as the girl had moved onto the next customer. No knife or napkin supplied with the bacon roll, or sauces or butter. Had to ask the girl who was clearing tables if ours could be sanitised after moving the previous occupant’s crockery myself. Whilst the cafe is situated very pleasantly by a pond, staff should remember that some people , haven’t been out for a while, and being made to feel a nuisance does not make morning coffee a pleasant experience. A smile and better training in customer service is required .

On our way home from staying nearby we popped in for lunch a nice selection on offer with a good choice for vegetarians and meat eaters.The social distancing measures put in place made us feel feel relaxed. we ordered at the counter and took our drinks with us our meals then were delivered to our table and a lovely meal it was,I would like to thank the manager for the polite and calm way he dealt with the group of middle-aged rude bikers who arrived and pulled the tables together with no consideration for social distancing and other people around them. Thankfully they then went and sat outside.

Went here as it was highly recommended but the staff were rude, the food was average at best and the ‘waterside’ is basically a hosepipe running stream down the middle of the plants they are selling.

We love this place Chef always comes over for chat and spend time with customers . Always remember allergens and prices are always resonable . Great service from the front of house staff and clean and tidy . Thanks guys keep up the good work .

Firstly we went to visit Santa with our son in which we payed 7.99 for this is meant to be magical well far from it we was told we could not take any pictures but they do take a picture at the cost of £8.00 I was told this because of copyright, We had already decided to have lunch there so after coming out of Santa we ordered 2 roast dinners and a pasta meal , when the meal arrived which was quite quick I have to say it looked lovely but sadly this was not the case firstly you couldn’t eat the sprouts they were like bullets secondly the beef was so tough sadly we did not eat a lot of this , our son however did enjoy his pasta which sadly is the only thing he did enjoy there , We would definitely not recommend having a meal here and would 100% say do not visit Santa unless you want theme park prices

8 of us booked our christmas lunch here again as last year great food and brilliant service. All staff very friendly nothing to much trouble. Chef also came to see if everything ok. also come often through the year always a warm welcome great fish and chips on Fridays and cakes soooo good yummm.

We go to the Waterside Cafe about once a week but more sometimes .What a wonderful meal today with family .The staff were on top of every thing .

We often visit the Waterside Cafe at Bow taking our 2 children along. Staff are always friendly and the food is excellent and well priced. Outside space by the pond is great in the summer. I particularly enjoy the breakfasts there. Would definitely recommend. If I had one gripe it would be that hot food is not available up until closing time but I suppose the kitchen has to be cleaned etc so understandable.

Do you know this is a well run business and the cafe is a star - although fairly stark / modern surroundings. The breakfast is good with lashings of proper Mid Devon Produce - nice touch and quality - good cafe staff smile - but no expresso! Really would advise a vistit - well done - I think really good quality food will continue to revisit..

Super roast dinner and dessert at the Waterside Cafe today. Great value for money and children friendly

This was our second visit and we went on a Friday, had fish and chips and were pleased to see it was a special price. The food was delicious - plenty to eat and very good service. The cafe was fairly full but there was no difficulty finding a table for 3. What we didn't like was the acoustics, which made it difficult for us to have a conversation; however, it wouldn't stop us from eating there again.

Calling into the Bow restaurant, a small party of three, a second visit over a month, food was served by,an overall, young staff.Settling at an outdoor table we noticed that the table had not been cleaned since the last patrons visit, as the weather was now turning colder we decided to move to a more sheltered position, however this table was also uncleaned, not wanting to make too much fuss a member of staff was asked if they could supply a cloth, so the table top could be cleaned... A cloth was bought by a member of staff and handed over for US to clean !, again as the lady that was given the cloth did not want to make a fuss, she, reluctantly complied, surely a minimal amount of proper training could have alleviated this small problem. I am not so sure that I would visit again, just to suffer the embarrassment in front of my friends.
