Everything was simply delicious! It also is much cleaner and nicer looking than the other cafes right by the water.

Great little retreat with a creamy scone and toasted tea cake to suit. Our little furry friend enjoyed the stay as he was well behaved 👍🇬🇧

Gorgeous little cafe, friendly and welcoming staff & an excellent breakfast! All with lovely views of the river what more could you ask for. Oh, and they’re dog friendly! We took our boxer dog in and they even offered him treats. A little gem in a gorgeous town, must visit!

Excellent food and service. Best Ham Ploughmans I have ever had. Massive choice for everyone including one member of our family who needs gluten free. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely breakfast on Saturday, tasty and hot. Had a pot of tea that could have been hotter, but was a lovely cafe staff young, polite and helpful.

The view on the second floor is pretty good, the food is okay, and the coffee is average. Panini is good.

Chicken panini was one of the most miserable and depressing food I've tasted in my life. Imagine the most bland food you've ever had, well, Bourton Riverside Cafe managed to top it with 0/10 flavoured chicken and avocado panini. If I had to die in starvation or have one more of those, I'd easily pick the first option. Full English was passable, nothing to write home about. Cheapest ingredients thrown on a plate and warmed up. If you respect yourself and your taste buds, avoid this place like a plague.

We popped in for a bit of lunch and it didn't disappoint. There is plenty to choose from on the menu. The location is perfect 👌. Definitely worth a visit.

We came here twice on our trip. Lovely little cafe on the water. Ploughman's lunch was beautiful, and cakes looked amazing. Staff were friendly, and service was quick 😊

Been here a couple of times now, first for lunch and then for breakfast. Service is always friendly, and you're not waiting around for long. Ideally located in Bourton, so I highly recommend. Always cakes on the counter too, not tried any, but they look very nice.

I received the morning of January 2, 2024. The bacon was also moist and delicious. The quantity was also large.

Had scones jam and clotted cream. Very good fresh made scones. Loved it.

A lovely little traditional cafe. Plenty of seating with great views from the first floor out over the town. The menu is good with a nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches. Drinks are standard fair but well priced and the staff were lovely and friendly. Everything was nice and clean and although busy service was swift. A great little place well worth a visit in the area.

Came here for lunch on a hot afternoon. Staff were very welcoming and the food I ordered was delicious, albeit a little pricey. I did enjoy it though.

Well, where do I start? Ok, let's start from the time I entered the restaurant with my wife and my young child and I had the three witches of Burton look at us like we were aliens. One witch walks up to us and asks if we were ok to sit on the floor above and we said yes. As I took the stairs, I noticed the diners staring at me probably because we were an asian family entering the lair of the white witches of Burton. We took our table and a few minutes later, an ugly looking middle aged woman walked up to us to take our order and it was not just her face that was ugly but her demeanour as well. She had this sarcastic look on her face. I took an instant disliking towards her. I told her that I want the fried eggs flipped over and she could not comprehend what I was saying even though I spoke perfect English. The food was alright. I would say less than average fare. When I went over the counter to pay, the three witches stared at me again and the ugly one came over to the cash counter to take my payment. I presented my card and it got declined, she immediately and rudely shoved the payment machine onto my face to show me the message on the screen. So I presented the card again and it declined again and she this time read the message out aloud hoping that I would get embarrased but I cooly presented another card and it was accepted. This restaurant is rotten wine in a broken bottle. Don't step in here if you wish to have a nice day and a nice meal. The waitresses lack professionalism and are out of their depths.

Ordered pork pie and got gala ie ham and egg. My husband allergic to egg. Made a polite discrete comment to a member of staff on leaving. Her reply was Rude confrontational . She did not know the difference between pork pie and gala pie. Her aggressive response was that's what they sent me. God forbid anyone who has an allergy. They could have died. All the staff gathered round and were talking about us before we even left the restaurant. Stay away from this place. Lots of other lovely places to eat in the town. Bad experience when taking a friend for the first time. Also told we couldn't sit on a table for 6 as only 3 of us but whilst we were there that all changed with other customers.

Excellent little cafe, very friendly and kind people who were brilliant with my 1 Yr old. Food was absolutely amazing, I had the brie and cranberry sandwich and there was a jam sandwich / kids lunch option for my daughter. Was too full to sample the wonderful looking cakes so I'll have to come back!

The ice cream here is absolutely delicious, we tried the salted caramel and the chocolate and both were amazing. If I lived here I'd be stopping by for ice cream every day! (And probably going up a few belt sizes, but totally worth it 😀)

Popped in for an early lunch, cafe got increasingly busy as the lunch hour advanced, but still felt spacious and not crowded. Gorgeous food. Friendly staff. Nice and light and airy. Clean toilet facilities. Very accommodating of my toddlers pushchair and tastebids (amended the menu option). Would be happy to return.

Great welcome, lovely view from the upstairs over the river. Staff very friendly. Great choice on the menu, even the cooked breakfast had a variety of options without additional charge. Food was hot, freshly cooked and very satisfying . I would highly recommend popping in.

A nice quaint place to have a bite before heading on a tour at bourbon on water. It is situated right next to the water stream. The cafe has excellent staff and some delicious food. We tried the full English breakfast. The portion was good and the price was reasonable. Definitely worth visiting.

Whilst the choice of food is fairly average, they do it well and present it well. Staff are efficient, it does get busy and the 'full' sign was put out a few times whilst we had lunch

Pros- My food was fantastic. Highly recommend the Full English breakfast! Prices were great. Cons - However, my girlfriend’s poached eggs and beans were served luke-warm. Along with that, the building was cold, and the plates and cutlery felt like they just came out of the freezer. To be fair, it was an exceptionally cold morning, but a restaurant should be able to provide a better experience than cold food and a cold atmosphere.

We came in for lunch on the way to our friends wedding in the village of Barnsley, and we were very impressed with the staff and the food and would definitely return again when we are in the area.

Visited for elevenses on Monday. The staff were absolutely fabulous and the service was great. Homemade carrot cake and coffee and walnut cake was delicious. We thought it was so good there we went back for our dinner. We will definitely eat there again when next visiting Bourton-on-the-Water.

Ordered a take away panini which was very bland & dry - no salt/ pepper or sauce. Quite slow service too. Didn't cost alot but would've liked it with more flavour.

They told us that our group of 6 can only taste 3 ice-creams maximum in total before buying :( makes no sense to me as we weren’t trying to get ice-cream but rather just to taste before we buy.

Very busy this jubilee weekend and though they were short staffed, food was served quickly. We both had a ploughman's lunch. I had the cheese option with cheddar and brie. Lovely little find with upstairs seating. Great to sit near the window and people watch.

Affordable prices, friendly staff, excellent value for money. Using quality ingredients. Breakfast with a coffee. When most places in the area are charging over £3 per coffee. I'd recommend that you pay them a visit in the cotswolds.

Staff were friendly, some could have smiled more, food I'm sorry to say was unappetising, jacket potato was not fresh it was reheated stale and cold, breakfast was OK but not great, all a bit shabby rather than a quaint tea room.

Extremely rude member of staff spoke to us as we walked in so went to La Reine around the corner instead. I’m glad we did - they were friendly and food was delicious.

The food is average but customer service is pathetic .. extremely curt, not a smile nor a friendly conversation while taking the order ..but otherwise the cafe is well located right by the water so you could enjoy and relax a bit

A great place for breakfast! Very knowledgeable about food allergies and lots of alternative gluten free options. There were multiple different flavour gluten free cakes as well which was a bonus. Nice atmosphere upstairs and great service.

A cafe placed on a strategic place in a touristic village. We enjoyed here a lunch of a jacket potato with coleslaw. This order took quite a while before it was brought to the table. The potatoes were tasty and a pleasure to eat. I ordered also a vanilla milkshake but while refreshing it was far too sweet to my taste.

We really enjoyed out visit to Bourton Riverside Cafe. The staff were extremely welcoming. The breakfast was really tasty and great value for a prime tourist spot in Bourton. The downstairs is dog friendly too. 5 stars

We went to Bourton today for a day out and my wife fancied a full breakfast so we eventually, after walking round, we stopped for something to eat. The cafe does an all day breakfast so at four this afternoon, that's what we had and it was very, very nice. Hot, plenty of it and not to expensive. Will definitely visit again. Recommended.

Came here for some tea and scones, staff were very rude, talking sarcastically to customers. There are plenty of other tea places around..please try the others
