Bottega Prelibato in Hackney

I don't know where to start. One of the worst hospitality experiences. Prawns and Cacio Pepe croquettes that not even the worst pub in London would have served, dry pasta and Tagliata that was not a Tagliata. The owner should be ashamed of himself for the way he justifies himself by blaming the chef!

The staff were lovely but the food was not very good. Unfortunately we all couldn’t have more than a few bites. It’s a shame as it has a nice atmosphere so it just needs good food.

I have dinner ti this place. Lily has served us which she was so kind and cleaver girl. Love to come back again and enjoyed every second.

Office Christmas party, got to be the worst food I've ever tasted in a Christmas party. The food was bland, dry fried chicken, watery risotto that looked like paella. Food was coming from the kitchen so slow that we didn't have time to eat the desert.

Great authentic food, atmosphere and service

Worst food I have eaten in a long time. Cold meatballs and they just put them in the microwave to reheat, they came back so dry. No bartender on shift so we couldn't even order a cocktail. The food generally lacked any flavour and was poorly presented. When we started to pay, the waiter asked us if it wall all OK, we responded honestly with "not really, it was actually really bad" and he just ignored us and continued taking our payments. This is not the place to go to for decent Italian cooking. Very disappointing.

Waited for 15 minutes for menus. Waited for half an hour for 10min pasta. Complete absence of staff made it impossible to order more food. My carbonara was partially scrambled egg and extremely salty (and I prefer salty food). Would have finished my pasta if I had more wine but wasn’t able to order as no staff. Couldn’t order desert so walked to the POS and asked to pay, so that we can leave. Overall wasted an hour and a half and £75, and left hungry. PS: In the response the restaurant indicates items were removed from my bill which is incorrect. I paid it all in full and did my credit card has not been debited. I did not complain in the restaurant as I could see the staff is not too interested in hearing my opinion. Contrary to what my review would indicate I hope this place does well as we need cute little restaurants in the area.

It seems like the waiters is more busy talking to each other than serving the customers. The portions are quiet small for the price. The pasta was good, but not anything special. For the price paid, I would expect a better experience than this.

My family and I visited the restaurant on a friday afternoon and really liked the vibe. The staff are really lovely people and the Italien vibe is on point. Unfortunatly their priorities where a bit off. Instead off getting all the orders done and making sure every table was cared for the waiter decided to text on his Phone and chatting with the staff. Therefor a lot of people waited for a Long time. The room was to cold and the Price to High Compared to the service and quality of the food. I would recomend the place but be aware of slow service and the Price to High for what you get. At least that was our experience:)

Absolutely awful. My partner and I thought we had found a lovely local restaurant, but we made a large group booking here for a 40th birthday and it was atrocious. 2 hours before the reservation (which we booked and confirmed weeks ago) we were called by the venue in panic, asking what set menu we had chosen because they couldn’t locate our confirmation, so something must have gone wrong. After we arrived, we weren’t served any food for two hours! People were starving. And when it did come out the portions were pathetic, there was nowhere near enough of it for our party. We were left without plates and cutlery at various points, and they ran out of basics like vodka and sparkling wine, it was a mess. Worst of all is it ruined my partner’s birthday.

We were here last week for the Tottenham - Roma match. We ate very well, and the staff was also very attentive and professional. The next time we are in London we will return to this lovely place. Greetings from Lake Garda.

Ordered the beef with red wine sauce and mashed potato I received sliced beef with no sauce and they didn't have any mash, was offered roast potatoes instead. No taste/ flavour on the meat and it was mostly gristle. Nobody came to check If the food was okay and when I did mention to the waitor his answer was "I like fat". No apology then has the cheek to add a service charge on the bill. Husbands meal was okay, had a gluten free pasta meal but not offered any parmesan cheese. Both meals were quite small so poor value. Will not be returning plenty of other restaurants to choose from.

Esperamos una hora antes de que alguien en el grupo obtuviera comida y luego dos personas tomaron 5 piezas de raviolis para un plato principal por £ 16. El servicio era terrible, el tamaño de la porción era muy pequeño. Las bebidas eran muy caras. No volverá. Un final muy decepcionante para la noche. Definitivamente no vale la pena el dinero.

Charming little Italian restaurant and coffee

Da italiana, quando vai all'estero ed entri in un ristorante italiano sei sempre un po' scettico... invece per questo è stata una vera scoperta. I ragazzi sono gentili e super disponibili. Abbiamo ordinato delle crocchette cacio e pepe e due piatti di pasta (paccheri con pesto di pistacchio e gnocchi con funghi e tartufo), le prime per errore sono arrivate insieme alla pasta e per questo, il proprietario, per scusarsi ci ha fatto un piccolo sconto sul totale. Locale piccolo ma arredato con gusto!

Very nice place, great food, like all good things it takes a little patience before it arrives probably because there were a lot of people. A little noisy to be able to talk quietly, otherwise 5 stars!

We went there for dinner. Very cosy and nice atmosphere. As starter we had house bread and olive oil and trecolor salad. The olive oil was not good at all. The burrata on the salad was very poor. We would not recommend. As main dish we had beef ravioli and the mushroom pappardelle. Both were very delicious. And the tiramisu was also good for the dessert. We are not sure whether we will visit again.

I had dinner there yesterday after almost a year. It was one of my favourite spot for a proper Italian meal. Sadly I found the portions 1/3 of last year (not more than 70 grams of pasta while 2 years ago it was at least 150grams) and the price of course went up quite a lot (almost 20gbp for a small pasta plate compared to the previous 13gbp for a big portion). Very very disappointed as it lost the meaning of trattoria. It seems more a posh Italian restaurant to me. What a shame

I stopped in the bakery for a latte and pastry yesterday and was blown away by how good the pastry was - I adored the atmosphere but did not have time to stay. Today I stopped back in and met the pastry chef who is from/trained in Paris and it all made sense, though I have had pastries not as good even in Paris. Beautiful atmosphere I could stay all day in. Love the italian vibe and friendly, attentive service. I can only imagine a lunch or dinner would be divine.

Dropped in with an Italian friend after a gallery session around 3.30pm. We were warmly welcomed and despite the kitchen being closed we were offered a delicious parpadelle with mushrooms. The waiter that cooked and served us was so hospitable, he brought wine and warmed some focaccia. Highly recommend. We will be back 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Truly a hidden gem! I randomly walked across this place while exploring Shoreditch. This place is such a vibe and the food is to die for! I had the Pappardelle mix mushrooms and truffle and a cheeky Tiramisu for dessert, which both came recommended by my waiter. Service was really great and everyone was friendly. Highly recommend!

Muy azaroso y desorganizado, con diferentes cursos que llegan en diferentes momentos. Esperábamos unos 30 minutos antes de que alguien se nos acercara. Claramente, el restaurante tenía poco personal. Dos de nuestros miembros recibieron sus platos fuertes antes que el resto, y todos los demás tuvieron que esperar unos 20 minutos por los suyos. El camarero no parecía muy preocupado y permaneció desinteresado toda la noche. En segundo lugar, las porciones eran muy escasas. Pedí un filete de lubina, que cuando finalmente llegó era aproximadamente del tamaño de mi iphone. Tenía mucha hambre después de irnos y fuimos a McDonalds después! Lo dice todo, de verdad. En general, una experiencia muy insatisfactoria.

The ambience was nice, and the food wasn’t too bad at all. But the service was dreadful. Extremely slow and disorganised.

Food was pretty good, but service was really lacking. Event we did had a reservation, we had to wait for 25minutes to get to out table. When we were there, nothing happened for the next 10 minutes…and it continued that way. Can‘t really recommend.

Pero esperamos 45 minutos para nuestros platos principales y después de haber preguntado si estaban en camino, el servicio a partir de entonces parecía gruñón y apagado - mano a nosotros. La música estaba en un volumen que significaba que no podíamos escucharnos a través de nuestra propia mesa. Y el personal parecía más decidido a prepararse para irse que a proporcionar un buen servicio a quienes esperaban comida. Vergüenza, ya que había sido realmente bueno en ocasiones anteriores. Quizá cambió de dirección o necesitaba un mejor liderazgo un sábado por la noche.

My husband and I just left this restaurant and our experience was so terrible, I felt compelled to write a review. The food was ok… mediocre. The service was TERRIBLE. I understand slow service when it comes with a stellar experience, care and communication. This was not that. Here are some aspects of the experience at Bottega Prelibato: the music was extremely loud, numerous guests requested they turn it down, I love vibes and music - this was not it, I couldn’t hear my husband across the table. It was freezing, at least 2 other tables requested they close the windows and doors- majority of us were wearing coats for our entire meal. It took at least 30 mins to get the first drink. We typically order cocktails and bottles of wine, the service was so slow we only had 2 drinks each, the second of which came during or JUST before our main course. Food took very long- I’m typically okay with this, providing drinks are plentiful- but they weren’t. We requested the bill when our main course arrived as things were going so slow, it took 40 mins to receive the bill and we asked multiple times. When the bill came, it was wrong. On top of all of this, there was a 12.5% service charge. I rarely write negative reviews, my preference is to write positive reviews as I think it’s easier for the general public to complain. But all this happened when there were 7 tables and 3 servers- more than enough staff to provide a better experience. I left quite disappointed and could not believe I paid a service charge- in hindsight, I should have requested they remove it.I don’t know how this restaurant has good reviews, the space could be quite charming with beautifully exposed brick and warm lighting, but significant improvement must be made here.

Es genuinamente italiano y una buena relación calidad-precio según los estándares de Londres.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Bottega Prelibato in Shoreditch since 2010, and it’s always a pleasure to return. This family-run business has a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like home. The service is outstanding—they genuinely aim to please, making every visit special. The food is consistently exceptional. The homemade pasta and seafood are fantastic, and the steak is cooked to perfection—truly a “chef’s kiss” moment. Bottega Prelibato is a neighborhood gem, where you’re always treated like family. Highly recommended. One request though "COULD YOU BRING BACK CABONARA TO YOUR MENU?"

I am a regular costumer here and I must say the waitresses are always outstanding and provide exceptional service. Drinks and food are always delicious too.

Food used to be very good 5yrs ago, but went again last year and this year and both times ended super disappointing. It actually tasted bad, pasta were either completely over or undercooked depending on the plate. Very sad

I loved their carbonara from a can; they were nice enough to make it with extra cream, mushrooms, and chicken too! It's a special, so you have to ask for it. Yum yum.

Carbonara was incredible! Ordered two and one to go. Staff was fantastic. As a visitor to London I am very impressed.

The pasta was soooo tasty! Papparedelle con fungi. Exactly as you’d hope it’d taste. Big wide pasta w plump mushrooms and a creamy rich sauce. And the tiramisu…do indulge! I went away feeling not only satisfied but happy as only food made w care can make you feel. A lovely ramshackle terraza on a warm night. Perfetto. Grazie!

I’ve never left a review but this was really not good. Ordered the steak medium rare, it was poor quality meat, under seasoned and watery/bland. My friend ordered the gnocchi which was dry, and as stated on the menu contained clams, contained two clams with meat in the shells. The venue itself was lovely but the lack of attempt to resolve our experience was so disappointing. As someone who also works in the industry I’d appreciate better service recovery.

Not recommended ! smalls portions for a very but ridiculous high price. I had to wait one hour for the food and the restaurant was empty … at one point I thought the waiter had not put the order through. I came 2 years ago and was excellent. Quality and price. I Won’t definitely go again.

This place is good, lovely atmosphere, especially on a summer evening, you almost forget it's Shoreditch. Our waitress Rumki took a really hood care of us. We really enjoyed croquettes and seafood pasta. Nice touch was a lemonchello at the end of our meal

The food never came (It s been 2hours)

I honestly hate leaving bad reviews but this place was fairly terrible. I had to ask for 3 different drinks from the menu before them having something actually available. Drinks were slow to come and tasted bizarre. My old fashioned was pink. What!!! Had to send it back. REPLY TO RESTAURANT’S RESPONSE: You are incorrect. I did not ask for moscato or two cocktails. I asked for two amaro liquors which were both listed on your menu but you didn’t have either, despite your team initially telling me you had them. I very much voiced my dissatisfaction during our visit, hence why i gave the drinks feedback in the moment and refused the offer to remake it. I reinforced I wasn’t happy with the service when i asked the service charge to be removed. Your team offered little apology or response for the poor time we had. I think you should talk to your team about handling bad experiences better rather than taking issue with me for leaving an honest review. With the bad attitude in the reply from your restaurant, I certainly will never be returning or recommend to anyone.

Popped in for a drink only. Lovely wine selection....had nibbles and were well served by helpful staff...nice outdoor tables...may give it a go for a meal next time...

Portions are big and prices are low, but the quality is not great. The fried starters are too greasy and the pastas don’t taste freshly made. The staff are not very friendly either.

Charming airy restaurant area, delicious classic Italian dishes, and dog friendly too- we really enjoyed it. The vegetarian dishes are well worth it too. Gnocchi genuinely home made and superb.

Somehow remember this place better. But last time was 10 years ago. The food seemed pretty average to be perfectly honest. Maybe because there are some other nice places in the area now. Staff are friendly. Service was good. Easy to get a table with walk in on Sunday lunch.

I’m not one to superfluously leave reviews. But every once in awhile you are charmed by a small corner of the world that is exceptionally beautiful. This is it. A delight. The quality of the food - obviously delightful. But the people…. What a treasure

I’ve never seen such a bad and slow service. We had to ask several time for everything, and waited 1h30 for our mains and it came wrong so had to wait even longer. And another 30 min for dessert (which was cheesecake so probably not made to order…). Also they forgot to take the 15% off the bill, despite it being advertised. Food was decent and the terrace is nice, such a shame the service is ruining it all.

Service was really slow. They frequently forgot to get things such as cuttelery and Parmesan. The food took more than an hour to arrive. Several times they brought a plate of food and asked if it was us who ordered it as they had forgotten which table it was for. Some things are worth waiting for but the food was just good not great. The neighbouring table did not like their food so this might not be the case for everyone. While they were apologetic for the service problems they did not offer any explanation or indication that there were extenuating circumstances.

We had a very nice first evening in London here. Very nice service, delicious food and great ambience.

Arrived and received such a lovely warm welcome! It was a Saturday night and the atmosphere was a great vibe. Busy than what I like but we were tucked away outside as it was a beautiful day. Drinks on arrival which was a lovely touch, menus and types of pasta explained very well. He brought out a plater of pasta so we could see which one we wanted. Food was delicious! And so was the wine recommend. I feel like this is one of the places where you can sit back and they will take care of you. I’d would recommend asking them for what wine or food goes with which. Probably the most simplest things of my experience here but that fresh baked bread omg! So good, dipped in with the olive oil and vinegar. Everything felt so fresh and the location, atmosphere took me on holiday even though this is home. I will be back!

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and i’m greeted with friendly service and great food and drink recommendations each time! All the staff and managers seems to have a great dynamic and care a lot about their customers. Lovely authentic Italian atmosphere in the heart of Shoreditch.

We didn’t enjoy this food experience for a couple of reasons; - We ordered Negroni & Margarita - They didn’t have enough amount of alcohol they usually should have - The rocket salad that comes with bruschetta, had a dirty dishes smell which made the experience quite poor. I am sure salad was clean but I think they put it in a wet container and it gave its smell to rockets, but it was a very strong smell.. We couldn’t finish the food. - Service was good but not great, they forgot to bring our drink and was a bit slow to take care of us. Staff was very friendly however I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and probably would not go there again. :(

Really wouldn't recommend. Terrible service. Had to ask 3 times for them to bring our wine and then bill. The pasta was poorly flavoured, one was very bland, the other tasted like Chinese food? Not authentic Italian at all. The music was stupidly loud as well. Lots of other customers looked pissed off too. 70 quid absolutely down the drain.

Didn’t even have the time to sit down that I had to leave as the waiter was really rude and not welcoming at all … shame as the restaurant seems nice vibe.

Came for a date on a Tuesday and honestly felt like I wasn’t in east london at all, let alone London! The food was so delicious, the drinks were on point, and to the service was crazy good, I left feeling like I was apart of an Italian family that I never knew I needed! I’m coming back for sure as I don’t want to miss the tea.

I am very disappointed with this place. The portions are very small, especially when it comes to lamb ravioli, as they charge £18 for 4 pieces of ravioli with pumpkin sauce (one small square of ravioli is £4.50!! Prices are higher than in Rome in the Michelin starred restaurant we visited in February this year). The service was very slow, we had to wait almost an hour for these 4 pieces of ravioli and at least 45 minutes for the starter and it was also not very tasty and dry. A waitress could cover her belly with a longer blouse because she works in a restaurant and not everyone wants to see her belly while eating a meal. We certainly won't go back there because of the service and prices. I do not recommend.

Very good cuisine. What surprises the French like us is that you have to order the vegetables in addition to the dish. 23 pounds per sea bass fillet. Music a little loud but service top notch.

I had the secret dish of Carbonara and it was the best Carbonara I’ve ever had! It was super buttery and rich with the best cooked pork that was so salty and complimented the sweetness of the sauce perfectly! 100/100 would recommend! Was debating on order another plate! Our waitress Chiara was an absolute gem and an Angel! Thank you to her for making our experience so lovely and suggesting the secret menu to us!
