As always. Utterly wonderful. Super friendly staff, delicious food. A wonderful evening.

I am very disappointed with this place. The portions are very small, especially when it comes to lamb ravioli, as they charge £18 for 4 pieces of ravioli with pumpkin sauce (one small square of ravioli is £4.50!! Prices are higher than in Rome in the Michelin starred restaurant we visited in February this year). The service was very slow, we had to wait almost an hour for these 4 pieces of ravioli and at least 45 minutes for the starter and it was also not very tasty and dry. A waitress could cover her belly with a longer blouse because she works in a restaurant and not everyone wants to see her belly while eating a meal. We certainly won't go back there because of the service and prices. I do not recommend.

Very good cuisine. What surprises the French like us is that you have to order the vegetables in addition to the dish. 23 pounds per sea bass fillet. Music a little loud but service top notch.

I had the secret dish of Carbonara and it was the best Carbonara I’ve ever had! It was super buttery and rich with the best cooked pork that was so salty and complimented the sweetness of the sauce perfectly! 100/100 would recommend! Was debating on order another plate! Our waitress Chiara was an absolute gem and an Angel! Thank you to her for making our experience so lovely and suggesting the secret menu to us!

Has a super lovely evening with a group of friends. We shared yummy antipasti platter and i felt adventurous to try the secret dish (not always available) and it was an amazing out of this world carbonara! The atmosphere is charming and the staff are lovely!

Honestly it just wasn’t nice, my food was bland. My friends was over seasoned (salty). I was served by waiter who was wearing a puffer jacket from outside which I would say is unhygienic. I asked for takeaway and found a hair in my container when I got home. It just wasn’t a great experience and certainly not one I’d pay for again.

We went for dinner on the weekend. Good vibes and great food right in the middle of Shoreditch. I would recommend their secret dish. Truth to be said, the food was all good.

Had a splendid lunch here today. For starters we shared the burrata and tasty Parma ham. The mains was from the ‘Specials’ board, a substantial serving of delicious pork belly (porchetta) which came with a tomato salad and truffle sauce. A decent tiramisu was my dessert choice. This was all washed down with the house wine, which comes in a 50cl carafe (£26).

Worst Italian food I have ever eaten in my life. Not only overpriced, but it was genuinely bad as well. It explains why the restaurant is empty! The menu is really bad as well!

Not a great experience here last night. We booked a table for three and were crammed onto a 2 person table. Not only that but the seat on the side which I was unlucky enough to be in was clearly in the path of the servers which meant I was getting constantly banged into. We ordered our starters, one of which arrived wrong, however that was rectified and my starter of Fritto Misto was good. The mains arrived without the side dishes which we had to chase up twice. I had the beef ragu which lacked flavour, that was until I bit into a branch of rosemary that had been buried in the pasta. The other two diners though, did enjoy their mains. For dessert I had a creme brûlée which was runny, and not set properly.

Authentic italian restaurant, family run, great atmosphere and delicious food.

Out of towners from up north enjoying being shown round the big smoke by our son in St Luke’s. Staff here were so friendly and attentive and added on three extras late in the day. The meat platter share starters were heaving with lovely stuff, and while it’s quite a restricted menu it’s all well-loved and beautifully crafted Italian standards. House wines delicious. We missed our daughter who couldn’t come down but she formed part of the care team allowed our friends to be with us and have a fantastic evening.

I’ve been coming to Bottega for the past 10 years and I always feel at home, the food is buonissimo..its simplicity reveals authentic delicious Italian cuisine. The service is quick, waiters have always a smile serving the tables, we love the atmosphere, we just love this place!

Very poor service and very mediocre/bad food. It felt also very cold inside the restaurant. We used to go to the restaurant in Wapping which was much better. Extremely disappointing. I will never go back.

finally i found a place that respect italian traditions. The atmosphere is lovely and highly recommended.

We found the bottega by chance, peeked through the window, and had to have a look inside ! You almost feel transported in Italy. The waitresses were great, informative, and useful. We had gnocchi arrabiata and seabass pasta, chocolate fondant, and tiramisu. Everything was delicious. The margarita was amazing ! I would really recommend Bottega Prelibato for a cute, intimate place to have a lovely dinner. We were on a date, but I would love to bring my friends or my family there !

There are lots of great Italian restaurants in London, this isnt one of them. It was difficult to get served (or find anyone interested in serving us) and one of our pasta dishes was cold in the middle. It was reheated to a ridiculously high temperature. The owner seemed to be lavishing attention of locals....might be a welcoming place if you are local, but not so for casual dinners. We certainly won't be going back.

I had gnocchi for lunch with a beer, sat outside. It was late lunch the kitchen was closing but they served me. The food was nice and the service was good. Atmosphere was good. I’ll go back with friends.

We had some ravioli with mortadella and beef served with rosemary sauce but something horrible comes instead on our table, we asked finally for the bill but they want to say sorry offering a tiramisu for us and woilà the magic happened

Poor service, bland food. Sorry but the location warrents more. Was given menus, left for quite a time before a waitress came for our order. We ordered but as the sarters arrived noticed the table next to us had a whole specials board to choose from( would have definitely changed our choices) my wife had the friut de mer which was one prawn and the rest was just sqiud rings. Our plates sat dor a long time before the waiter cleared and asked is there anything else we wanted? Our reply was our mains please. When arrived completely under welming very bland. No one came to check on us and no one was seen to escalte the poor food. Only once someone came to clear did we have the opportunity to say some thing we were only given 20% off my wifes food and i had to ask for the service charge to be removed. We were offered a couple of shots of lemonchello unfortunately not a good experience.

Nice staff and nice terrace in a calmer areas compared to the rest of Shoreditch which is very nice. Food was good and served fast. Nothing waw but very decent food :) a little pricey compared to the rest of the restaurants in the area. But overall, we would happily come back.

Went here back in early 2023 & it was the best meal I ever had. It was our new favourite place & I couldn’t wait to come back. We went back (sept 2023), and the meal that was once my all time favourite tasted over cooked & tasteless :( the service was in disarray, the staff didn’t know what they were doing (although they were polite) and there was no organisation. It’s such a shame! I hope whatever changed is reversed

Uninspiring food that relied too heavily on salt. Disgusting house white, honestly insulting. Staff appeared to have no direction or management. Gave me attitude for explaining drink was too late for the meal and the wrong size. Frighteningly expensive for the lack of any real quality. The location is nice though.

It's on the list of the worst carbonara I've ever eaten. The egg inside was like an omelet and we didn't like it at all. Other than that, the staff and the environment are nice.

I’ve been there 3 times and each time an inexperienced staff was serving me. They are never coming to ask your order, I had to walk inside the restaurant to call a waitress. If you can manage to order I’d be surprised if your arrives complete. Nothing I have tasted lingers in my memory

This place used to be good but it really seems to have fallen apart. The service was very poor. We had booked for 6 but bumped into someone en route so were 7. We were told off when we arrived and said it caused a lot of work to solve - it just involved putting a chair at the end of the table we’d booked. We had to chase every time we wanted to order and when we got the bill nobody came to take payment. My friend wanted to take her leftovers with and chased 4 times to get them back. My main dish was actually tasty - the mushroom ravioli - but others felt the food was bland. The bruschetta starter is bland. They also took a £60 deposit off us. I asked when we left and they said they’d reimburse it onto my card. The next week I checked and they hadn’t. I chased and they said they’re going to do it now. Would avoid. A shame as it’s got nice decor and used to feel like an interesting, independent restaurant.

Was seated quickly, and menus brought over, a little rushed but not a major! After that however it all went downhill. One starter out of 2 arrived with no drinks. Trying to get the waiter’s attention was nigh on impossible. Eventually managed to speak to someone else who in fairness sorted it out. Starters of bruschetta and Burrata were ok nothing remarkable. Main course came up and the truffle pasta was lovely but my daughters pasta Was like pasta in a soup. It was changed and unfortunately was really bland both accompanied with a stale grated cheese. Overpriced for what was a less than average meal. Appreciate that staffing is tough at the moment but the poor lady who helped sort out ours and many more mistakes around us was run ragged with less than capable colleagues. When we paid our waiter who had messed up all evening insisted we pay cash which I thought was odd.

Stumbled across this place in the day and booked a table outside for dinner. When we got there it was quite chilly so we asked if there was a table inside as it was quite chilly out, the waitress said she would go and see and we didn’t see her again. Waited for 20 minutes and no other waitresses came over to even ask if we wanted water etc. Our table didn’t even have cutlery on it. Just one menu between the two of us. We got bored and went down the road to another Italian, much better experience. Really disappointing.

The pasta did not taste as wonderful as described in the menu. Which meant that price(ey) did not match was put in front of me. So if asked, no I wouldn’t return.

We went on the recommendation of friends who had been there for dinner three weeks earlier. Apparently, lunch is a different experience. The waiter took our order and had to come back twice to double check what we ordered. Appetisers to share were served with no plates, cutlery or serviettes. One of the wait staff was clearly being trained but not well. I felt badly for her. I ordered the buckwheat ravioli and asked it was possible to try a piece because I had never had buckwheat pasta. I expected they might say no which would have been fine. However, the reason I was told no was because the pasta is frozen and made to order. Very disappointing to hear it's frozen. Two of us had different types of ravioli - both were very bland and stodgy. My sauce had Italian sausage - far too much and tasteless. One person had luingini with clams which was decent. The barrata and courgette flower bruschetta was also virtually tastless. The bread was quite tasty. Our mains arrived before we were finished our starters and the timing issue was completely unnoticed by the wait staff. Then, the wait staff completely disappeared. About 30 min later we had to go inside and ask someone else if our plates could be cleared and if we could have more water. The staff did ask about the food and was interested in our comments (which were not terribly positive). It was also the first time I have ever asked to have a service charge removed - it really was just not worth paying extra for a such minimal, inattentive service. It was a great disappointment and I would not recommend this restaurant nor would I return.

Les plats ne sont pas digne d’une cuisine italienne… j’ai dégusté un carbonara qui n’avait rien d’un plat de pâte italien bien connu… on peut cependant reconnaitre Que les pâtes en elles même étaient bien cuites….

It was his favorite restaurant and a treat from me for being so helpful after my car accident. As we sat and waited for our food we watched several people walk in off the street and get served. My husband watched a ( head ?) waitress go out every 5-10 mins for a fag break . We asked for a more private table on entering , away from where all the waitresses were walking past . It was free on entering but we were told we could not have it , yet 1hr15mins later it was still free. After 1hr 15 mins we asked for the bill as no sign of our meals. The bill showed all the dishes we had not received . Finally we were charged £44 for the half a carafe of house wine and 1 starter of calamari we had had . Really overpriced. Won’t be going back.

We were disappointed with the staff members and the service. They served our wine (not cheap) in beer glasses, as they said the wine glasses were still being washed. The staff were undertrained: They didn't bring cutlery or clear away glasses or plates properly. The price was very steep. At this price point, service is everything, and I was embarrassed for having picked this venue.

The restaurant is cute but food is mediocre. We ordered a burrata and actually got served a cheap mozzarella (and when we complained they said that was because they ran out of burrata). At the end of the dinner we ordered a dessert wine. When the waiter brought them over they told they were on the house as an apology for serving mozzarella in place of burrata. However when the bill arrived they waiter told us they were mistaken and the wine wasn’t for free (and gave us a shot of limoncello). In the end they made us pay for the tesco mozzarella as well. Don’t bother going

The pasta is oversalted, and the texture is wrong. But the service is friendly and fast. Unfortunately I came for food, not for service. Service charge included - don't like that

I'm actually quite shocked at how bad this restaurant was given its location and the number of years it has been running. The staff were sweet but the food was really mediocre. The melanzana parmigiana was about 10% aubergine, 5% tomatoes, and 85% cheese. And not wonderful Italian mozarella and parmesan, more like cheap cheddar that became gummy in the mouth and hard to swallow. The zucchini and salmon fishcakes looked like the kind of dinner a 9 year old puts together to feel like they're making posh food. I asked for the pasta mains to be al dente - they were anything but. Overcooked and stodgy. I had the carbonara which I was told I couldn't go wrong with. Turns out it can go very badly wrong. It was really salty, in a thick yellow sauce that looked like it could have come out of a jar. If you appreciate well made Italian, steer clear of this restaurant.

We were here to celebrate a friend's birthday. All was good until we asked to remove the optional service charge. I explained that we're a bunch of students and saving whenever we can. Our waiter seemed understanding at first and was happy to take it off. But he then got visibly annoyed when we were trying to figure out our individual bill. How is this something to be impatient about??? This is common when a group eats out. We've done it in other places before and was never ever given this attitude. We weren't taking that long either, and even if we were, he could have politely excused himself and offer to come back when we are ready. But no, man decided he was too important to wait around. In the end, I decided to just pay for the total first because we were here for a special occasion and didn't want to let his attitude ruin the night. My friend then asked him if he could take a group picture of us and his reaction was when I decided I need to leave this review. He refused to take our picture because he said and I quote, "you didn't pay for the service charge and taking picture is a service". At first we thought he was joking, but he wasn't. He also said this quite loudly and I'm sure the other tables could hear him. In the moment, we were all too shocked to speak and just wanted to leave the establishment. We were polite to the everyone throughout the night so this sudden change in attitude was very very uncalled for. Just because we asked to remove the OPTIONAL service charge, we won't be treated nicely anymore?? We didn't demand to remove the charge, we asked him really nicely and explained why. If he wasn't happy to do it, he could have said no. Again, we have never ever been given this attitude in any other restaurants even after we removed the service charge. This was unacceptable! Now I'm glad we didn't pay for the service charge because it was the worst service I've received in London.

Constructive feedback for the owner of this place... treat your customers with more respect! We spent good money (£120) on starters, mains, desserts and x2 carafe's of wine (2pax). Starters were nice, but the main came and my wife's Carbonara was not, and was luke warm verging on cold. They swapped it out for another dish but by the time it came I had finished my main (not a problem). The bill arrived and we asked if the dish my wife had could be removed from the bill, as we did not actually enjoy eating our meal together - as you should. A reasonable request, we felt. The owner came over and asked 'what our problem was' in an arrogant and rude tone, we gently tried to explain but he wasn't having any of it. He was incredibly rude, and just flew off the handle. We ended paying the full price out of principle when he said 'you pay what you want' and stormed off. He could have just said SORRY, and no problem I will remove the £17 dish from your meal. Unbelievable.

A wonderful Italian restaurant up in Shoreditch, a bit hidden in side streets. Printed menu, but also the day's specialties on a chalkboard - I love that. Good Italian dishes and a decent wine list. Not too expensive either. We have been here before, and when we were in London in December we returned. That says part of what we like about the place.

Bang average food at sky-high prices!

Came here for coffee and an early holiday wine and had fabulous service. Such a beautiful environment and the courtyard is gorgeous. We didn’t eat here as we had lunch plans but it’s definitely worth coming here for a coffee/wine. Will be back to try the homemade pasta.

Thoroughly disappointed. We felt lucky to get a table as ordinarily all would be reserved well in advance. Our starter which we shared, as lovely as it was, took half an hour to come. After the plates were taken we then waited another 45 mins for our mains after asking a couple of times if they were on their way. My wife went for the Gnocchi which was ok. I went for the carbonara which was either served without sauce or had been sat under a hot light long enough that the sauce had evaporated - the incredibly crispy bacon would suggest the later. Service was polite, but there didn’t feel to be any genuine remorse for the experience.

Well I guess I can’t complain. At 56 years of age having dined all over the world I have never once resorted to complaining about a restaurant. I actually contemplated not paying the service charge but did because the issue was not service but the incredibly bad food. The list is long but the tipping point was getting served a frozen sticky pudding which should have been hot. What made it worse was it was my third choice pudding as apparently all the puddings are made freshly (not) and despite ordering my second choice when we arrived which then when it came to serving the pudding was sold out (classy having to order upfront in the first place) they managed to serve something that was meant to be freshly baked still half frozen. Not so much as an apology given just a cold shoulder until we left. Can’t believe I paid the 12.5% service charge. My advice is stay clear.

Cozy Italian with a local family feel. Pasta dishes never disappoint!

We were walking around trying to find a place to eat and Bottega had space so it was late and we got in. They found us a table quite quickly which was nice however the service from this point got a bit random. They took our orders however we didn't want to get drinks but the lady was standing there waiting for us to order something which is fine, but a bit strange. Then the food, which at the end of the day is the most important when you go eat out. Quantities are generous, specially the mains. We ordered burrata with mortadela as started and it was really good, probably the highlight of the dinner. We hadn't finished it and the waiter came to take the plate?? As in rushing us to finish it, didn't make any sense to be honest. Then the mains lacked a bit of flavour in my opinion, I had the carbonara and it lacked a lot of flavour in my humble (not Italian) opinion and the seafood pasta was bleak. Me and my partner had finished and our friend was still eating when the waiter came again and stood next to us waiting for my friend to finish the 3 tortellini she had left to quickly take her plate??? Then we didn't even get the option to order desserts when the bill came. It's fine, I could like with the slightly strange waiters behavior, maybe it was late and they wanted to leave? They were not rude, just a bit odd if you ask me. My main issue was the food not being worth the 18/20£ for each main despite the good size for the mains.

The excellent location and the ambiance a is only exceeded by the outstanding service as well as the quality of the food. Five stars are clearly earned all around. Check out the artwork on the walls by Italian painter Viola Salis too. Owner Chef Gianfilipo is an outstanding host of this rustic Italian restaurant. Go here and love it as much as I did. You will thank me later ! Try the ravioli special. Saluti !
