First of all, food was lovely. Tasty and well presented and the staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes. Portion sizes were a bit small. Expected on the small plates, but the "main" (we ordered the risotto), wasn't much bigger than a small plate. Choice was limited too, especially when advised that if choosing small plates, you should expect to buy 2 or 3 per person and there was only a choice of 4. At roughly £12 per small plate this would quickly add up. Nice selection of wines and soft drinks. Pudding was nice (we chose the chocolate and beetroot) but rock sold and needed a knife just to try and break into it. Service was a little slow (had finished my coffee by the time my pudding arrived)

Nice, authentic restaurant. The menu is quite short and the food is relatively expensive but delicious. The service is nice, too.

I purchased a gift voucher via their website. After numerous attempts via email and phone to recover the gift voucher. I have been ignored and still £100 out of pocket. The Member of staff I had spoken to on a couple of occasions was very helpful and apologetic and said it was due to management change. It seems the new management aren’t too fussed. This was meant to have been a present for my brothers birthday a month ago. They have not once contacted me. Disappointed to say the least .

Delicious vegan food. Such fab dishes. The oyster mushrooms, and the orecchiette were so good. Lovely wine too and friendly service too.

The gentleman who served us was so lovely, and was so accommodating for us and our doggie friend when we went there for a birthday brunch recently... I personally loved all the food although my partner found some of it to be a little salty and rich, I didn't notice that myself though. However I wasn't expected to be full after once slice of Welsh rarebit sourdough toast but I sure was! Delicious and so nice to try something new.

Delicious, creative, and visually-inspiring vegan dishes in the heart of Brighton. I want to say it’s a hidden gem but judging by the crowd today it’s perhaps no longer! What stood out for me was the ambience. The interior design matches the culinary philosophy in being tastefully minimalist. I’m intrigued and will be back for more.

Genuinely some of the best food I’ve had in a really long time. And I’m a vegan chef so this was such a joy. Thoughtful flavour profiles, perfect balance of texture - this is my new favourite place in Brighton. The team was super friendly and the wines were great - clearly labelled and lots of organic and bio dynamic options. Honestly obsessed with this restaurant - big up!!!

Absolutely delicious! Even if you're not vegan (we aren't) you need to try this place. The food was full of flavour and so moreish. Small plates meant we had to order one of everything (almost!) as we liked the look of it all! Really lovely, friendly service too which seems to be rarer these days. Family friendly too which is nice to see. Highly recommend for Sunday lunch!

Why choose when you can have it all. So, we did. The entire menu. Everything. Starters, nibbles, mains and desserts. It was all fabulous. Balanced flavours and perfectly seasoned. Passion abounds and the service was excellent. Fortunately, we followed up the next day with brunch. Also delightful. Miss this wonderful gem of an establishment at your peril.

An absolute gem in Brighton! The decor and atmosphere are calm and minimalist which is so rare to find. The staff were very attentive and we ordered 2 dishes each. The food was delicious - everything tasted great, especially the mushroom and aubergine dishes. Same with the chocolate ganache and sticky toffee pudding. It’s not the kind of place to go if you are starving and want huge quantities, but is perfect in the evening when you want quality and tasty food. We will come back again for sure!

Everything was absolutely delicious! We love a vegetable heavy meal and this was exactly that. Fresh, flavorful and a nice variety of herbs and spices. We left feeling full but not heavy. The interior is cozy and rustic and the service was friendly. We can't wait to visit again! (forgot my phone so no pics but the food was beautifully presented!)

This is how you do vegan small plates! The mushroom dish was LEGIT and the (not pictured) triple cooked caccio Pepe chips were incredible! Our server was lovely as well and handled a tricky customer on another table with true professionalism. Botanique is a must visit if you’re into daring dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.

We had the room upstairs for a hen party, perfect layout so we could all see and chat with each other. The food was amazing. Service friendly and very helpful.

We had a lovely birthday meal here. Food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the foccaccia starter, and the celeriac steak and sweet potato small plates and the triple cooked chips. Sticky toffee pudding a perfect dessert. Neither of us are vegans but will visit again. Many thanks.

Sadly I’m having to give a bad review. I had wanted to eat here for years and always heard great things from friends and online. The atmosphere and music was pleasant. The seats were pretty uncomfortable and impractical with the size and hight of the tables. The cocktails and drinks were somewhat uninspiring, nothing you couldn’t find elsewhere in town. Our waitress was very attentive and the service was excellent however the food was cold when it arrived. We were told it was because they had limited kitchen staff, which is understandable over the holidays period, so they went ahead and replaced they food only for it to be just as cold when it arrived the second time. At this point we gave up and decided to leave. I hate to waste food, but if the restaurant can’t provide it hot, or even at an acceptable temperature then they shouldn’t be open. It was unfair of them to put this pressure on their staff and to expect customers to accept and eat cold food. I hope our lovely waitress didn’t take our dissatisfaction personally. I will try Botanique again and revise my review then but unfortunately it wont be the top of my priority list.

We had a wonderful meal at botanique. The flavours they’re able to generate with all vegan and (primarily) gluten free ingredients is incredible. It was too hard to rank the dishes but the oyster mushrooms and the celeriac steak were the highlight!

My wife and I went for a Christmas Eve meal. On the up side the food was very tasty. However, we asked the waiter how many dishes we should order (it’s all small plates) and he advised 2 to 3 between us. We ordered an aubergine tartare, sweet potato, broccoli and cabbage and a fennel dish. Each dish was quite small, we could easily have had a couple of additional dishes as they are quite small. What we found most annoying was the sweet potato which consisted of a single slice about 15mm thick with a bit of sauce and some puy lentils. We left feeling quite hungry and had toast when we got home. Basically the restaurant is way overpriced and the portions far too small. There are many more restaurants in Brighton and Hove that are better value and with reasonable portion sizes.

50 minutes from arriving to someone taking our drinks order. Food was all served tepid. The front of house team apologised, saying that Saturdays were busy so the kitchen was struggling - who knew... Wine list had lots of interesting wines advertised but none in stock. Issues with the toilet left the back if the restaurant smelling 'questionable'. This place used to be great but recently we've had a few bad experiences, all topped off by tonight's disaster. Such a shame the execution is so poor as the concept is wonderful.

Botanique is such a gem! Every dish is vegan and focused on championing the best seasonal produce for the least food-miles. I honestly enjoyed every dish I ate - we ordered six small plates between the three of us with two sides to share. It was the perfect amount of food, and not too expensive considering the size and quality of the dishes. Next time I would want to leave some room for dessert though - the pudding menu looked exceptional! There’s a lovely, calm atmosphere at this restaurant, and the service we received was really pleasant too. The staff are knowledgable about the menu, and attentive without being overbearing. I would not hesitate to come back here for special occasions, it really is worth a visit for vegans and non-vegans alike 🌿✨

Botanique (and Nate) were absolutely fantastic. We recently had our wedding reception at Botanique, where we had exclusive use of the restaurant and they were generous enough to let us to decorate the whole restaurant for our wedding. The service throughout the night was absolutely fantastic and all guests had the best time. The food was AMAZING! The Botanique team were able to create a personalised menu for our event and even had individual menus made for each guest! The show stopper of the night were the mojito cocktails!!! Every aspect of Botanique was 5 stars, you can really taste and feel the love in everything the staff do here. Nate was incredible on the day and in the build up to our wedding. Nate was very patient and generous with his time whilst we were planning it all. The team even made space downstairs for our DJ and dance floor - a huge hit for our guests! We really look forward to coming back very soon to try out their winter menu! Thank you to the Botanique team for an unforgettable night!

We had the best experience here. Staff were magnificent and welcoming and went out of their way to cater to tricky dietary requirements. It was greatly appreciated and nice to get to experience this delicious restaurant. They are also dog friendly!

Had a beautiful lunch here with friends. We all had something different and everything looked and tasted incredible.

Table of 4 and 2 vegans, 2 everything else! And we all loved the food. Was extremely flavourful. Presented amazingly and satisfied everyone. A definite must for everyone to try. Where it was let down was the stained chairs which need cleaning or removing. The smell of hash, cigarettes and drains from outside. And a very poor Welsh sparkling wine which was £50 and offered as a back up for the Ridgeview (same price) that was not available. As newbies it would have helped to offer a staggered service. Instead it all came out together.

Has had a recent revamp of the menu and is back being a great place to come again! I was so relieved as we had been sitting on a gift voucher for a while, and we had heard it wasn't doing so well, but I'm happy to report there has been a huge improvement and a new chef takeover. We enjoyed all of our dishes, and the service was friendly and warm with excellent wine suggestions. My partner and I could not agree on our favourite dish as all of the flavours were different and delicious (but the corn dish hands down, in my opinion) Back to being my favourite place to eat in Brighton!

Food is quite amazing, great selection of wines, lovely earthenware bowls and plates , attentive service and while costly worth every penny for the great skill in creating these dishs. Good easy to find location with decor that has a modernist yet mesa feel. A real treat for Vegans.

Unable to put flavour in aubergine. Excessive oil on the bottom of the bread (tip: focaccia should have it on the top). Crushed new potatoes weren't crushed at all. Fried elements were overdone to the point of no taste but the oil. Also, asked for water 3 times and only got it at the end of the meal. Sorry, but this was awful.

Lovely high quality vegan friendly restaurant serving freshly sourced food, with delicious taste fusions creatively presented. Top marks for service too, friendly and knowledgeable. We went as a family with a young baby and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be returning.

Where to begin!!! Wow. Love that fact this menu was designed in less then 3 days flat. And prepped. To have such a level of execution and some really big flavours punching in. I may have ordered a lot but I was able to eat every dish minus the chips at the end defeated me. The best PART I didn’t even miss the lack of a normal protein. That’s how big and full the flavours deliver along with excellent pairing of drinks. PET Nat was awesome can’t believe they have it. This is certainly pushing the preconceived notion of what vegan/vegetarian food should be. Will absolutely be back and can’t wait to.

This is the third time I've eaten at Botanique in Brighton. There were three of us for dinner. The food, as always, was good. However, the selection on the menu was sparse at best.

Food delicious and inspiring with an array of different plant based treats. However portions too small (and I'm a small eater) for price paid and didn't lend themselves to sharing as we were advised to do by waitress. Waitress also a bit grumpy and (upstairs) specials menu illegible with no prices hence we didn't order from it. Overall though I would def come back again to experience the lovely flavours and culinary magic but might need to fill up before coming!

Wonderful food in a great location. The stripped back furnishings help to create a relaxed fresh feel that extenuates the dining experience. Staff were maybe having an off night but some at least they could pretend to enjoy their jobs and customers.

We love this place. If had to criticise, I’d say, “take it easy on the salt chef” Beyond that: beautiful unpretentious restaurant with great views; friendly staff and innovative dishes.

This place was an absolute 10/10 for me. The staff were lovely, the design & decor of the restaurant is gorgeous, the FOOD! Incredible. I wish we were closer (we’re 3 hours away!) but this was absolutely amazing. If we come back to Brighton we will definitely be visiting again!

Went to the restaurant with 2 friends and had a very enjoyable evening with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. As a non-vegan I wasn't really sure what to expect but the food was great - tasty, flavoursome and enough of it. Definitely a place for sharing plates with others. The downside, as it was an extremely cold evening outside, the restaurant was very cold and it almost felt like the proprietors wanted to keep it this way to make sure diners left in a timely manner rather than taking their time. The diners on the table next to ours also commented about the chilly temperature.

Mixed recent reviews on here had us questioning whether to come. So glad we did. The space is beautiful - calming and elegant. Plenty of room between tables which seems a rare thing these days. Service was friendly and informed. Willing to accommodate a bigger group late in the day. Mostly though the food. We tried most things on the menu as well as the special. Over half the dishes were exceptional - the flavours and textures balanced perfectly.. stand outs were the Hispi cabbage special, the turnip dish and the cauliflower. Everything else was good. We were a mixed group - only one veggie, everyone else omnivores. Everyone enjoyed the experience enormously. It isn’t inexpensive here and the ‘large’ plates aren’t but you are paying for exceptionally crafted and innovative cuisine. Don’t come famished expecting hearty portions. Leave your judgements about vegan at the door and you’ll likely have a delightful and flavoursome time here.

The food was incredible. The Lions Mane will change your life. The service was also so lovely. Definitely recommend this place.

This was our second time at Botanique and it was an underwhelming experience compared to our first visit in 2021. We arrived on time and wanted to be seated upstairs and were told that service was downstairs only. We specifically went there for their vegan Sunday roast. We were given two small side plates and after a half hour wait the tiniest 'platter 'of roast vegetables were presented to us. Lucky we ordered the cauliflower cheese to go along side our mains as we would of left feeling hungry. My wife had grit on her carrots and two our her roast potatoes were undercooked and hard in the middle. The broccoli was so under cooked that it was hard to cut through. I mean, I like al dente vegetable but maybe they need some new cutlery? The portions for the mains were tiny although the cauliflower cheese was a bit better. I love gourmet food but the size of the desert was so small that it was finished by three normal sized mouthfuls. To top the evening off the coffee machine was broken so no lovely fresh coffee to top the underwhelming evening. One of the waitresses was really friendly and chatty. The other waitress floated around like a ghost and when she saw us off she didn't even wish us a rest of a nice evening and hope to see you again soon. The waiter sometimed looked pained when my wife was speaking to him, and when she asked him if the sewer pipe had been fixed as it was emanating a foul smell in the summer, some customers were coming through the door and he quickly shut her down. He said sarcastically blurted "sorry, but that's not the sort of subject we need to talk about when we have customers walking through the door." Well excuse me but we're also customers! His overall attitude was a bit cocksure throughout the whole evening. Sorry but we won't be visiting Botanique again which is a shame as we're always into supporting independent businesses and we visit Brighton every year. The food was average at best and we found out that they now have a different chef from our last visit in summer 2021. Won't be returning.

Delicious meal for me and a colleague. Went on a recommendation from a local friend and were delighted. Even got a box to take leftovers away.

We went for a bit of a light supper. The waiter was friendly and patient with us. The broccoli dish was really good, as was the beetroot with wasabi. The celeriac dish didn't work so well, we felt.. A strange combination of cooked and raw celeriac with hazelnuts.. We ordered olives to start with which didn't arrive until the mains came (we had to remind them) and one of the olives was not OK. The selection of non-alcoholic drinks was limited, and the 'fresh' orange juice was from a bottle which I don't call fresh. No decaffeinated coffee. The chair look good but are actually quite uncomfortable. The food that we enjoyed we really enjoyed, and the general vibe is pleasant enough. Not raving.

The food was.....OK. Full disclosure I am not a vegan and went to the restaurant to give vegan food a go. The food was all just OK. Nothing was really very filling or stand out delicious and it was bit pricey for what you got. Maybe if you are used to vegan food this place seems delicious, but can't say its for me. The ambiance and staff were lovely.

Food was delicious and outstanding. However, I visited on a Saturday evening, and sadly many items on the menu were not available. The service was a bit of a hit and miss, it needs improving on the overall organisation and communication. I hope it was just a one-off episode. That being said, I would recommend the place and I'd give it a second chance if I lived in Brighton.

Best vegan restaurant in Brighton? It's certainly up there for me. For my second visit it was Sunday and the roasts were simply sublime. I'm not veggie or vegan, and believe that even your most ardent meat eaters will love the food here.

Really delicious vegan dishes. It was also great that almost all the dishes ate gluten free and the couple that aren't are marked. It was so relaxing to be able to eat almost everything on the menu.

Walked past this place so many times before finally heading in for lunch. The decor is great and the waiter was friendly and helpful. Had 1 of each of the small plates and the foccacia. Everything we had was delicious and spot on with the flavour combinations. Apparently a new menu is coming soon so will definitely be heading back to try this place again

My daughter and I gave this meal 10/10, a very rare score for us! The food was so fresh, the depth and combination of flavours were amazing. The service and surroundings were fantastic! If only all vegan restaurants could be this good! Stunning!!

Wonderful night of vegan gastronomy ! I have been visiting Botanique since it opened its doors - always exceeded expectations in service , decor and of course the innovative vegan dishes. The tempura mushrooms are always a treat with light crispy textures , nut based purées and sauces are very well balanced. Charred hispi cabbage special is a favourite. Selection of recommended wines is good, pairing well the dishes. Dessert is the cherry on top! Perfect for special occasions, highly recommended.

We’ve been eating out in Brighton for several days as part of our holiday. Being avid cooks ourselves, we’re highly discerning about our food choices. Without a shadow of a doubt, hands down, Botanique are our firm favourites. The choices of small dishes, the freshness, the quality and the uniqueness of the food left us in awe. Furthermore, the quality of hospitality and genuine care is so refreshing to experience in any British establishment. We will certainly be coming back the next time we visit Brighton.

What a beautiful well thought out pub reminds me of classic classy boozers in london to where I was born, staff very well trained couldn't be more help full. What let it down was the food Sunday lunch potatoes not cooked hard in the middle had the lamb now I know it can be fatty but half of it was fat very disappointed my partner had the beef unfortunately no steak knifes provided couldn't cut the meat side Oder of veg the pumpkin well under cooked could not eat Now I know I should have complained at the time but the staff catered to our every wim we asked for more jus (thin gravey) which was return with speed one for beef and one for lamb Now I know they want to be a cut above the rest and my god with the deco and staff you have got that with out a doubt but Sunday lunch I could have got that for half the price and better and not paid £21.00 for a very standard bottle of wine sorry but the food doesn't match the pub but I hopefully this will Improve a very close friend of mine whom owns several businesses in Brighton felt the same. Favourite restaurant in the galaxy - cannot wait for my next visit

We had a roast here and it was literally the best roast I’ve had in years, portion sizes good and price was not extortionate. We decided to come back for my birthday based on this experience but unfortunately there’s a new concept of sharing plates . We went away feeling it was very overpriced and still hungry. One “large plate” consisted of 3 slices of aubergine with ALOT of sauce . Until they return to main dishes we won’t be coming back sadly. Real shame as place is great and feel this will put off other customers.

Modern and innovative take on vegetarian dining. I was impressed with both the taste and presentation of all the courses, with the fusion of flavours standing out in particular. Highly recommend the aubergine and coconut dish. Atmosphere is relaxed and rustic, a nice experience to share with friends. Will come back again!

The food is always 10/10, can’t be faulted at all. Love eating here. I’ve given 4 stars instead of 5 because on my last visit there seemed to be a fruit fly issue, don’t know if it was in the whole restaurant or just where i was sat.

Just had an amazing roast at Botanique to liven up a dark October evening. Beautifully seasoned and served with a flavoursome gravy - my plate was filled with tasty veg and juicy mushrooms as the centrepiece. Yum! The staff were also fab.
