Great idea if family would like to eat various different types of food - good way to keep everyone happy There wad a long queue when we arrived but it moved quickly and there were six of us Pointed to a table in the distance the its basically a bit of a dash everyone going n different directions some piled high with food !! My husband and I decided on the Seafood Platter - Staff not really interested butt gave us buzzer and we waited. On arrival food was presented reasonably well - though Prawns poor quality and swimming in watery sauce. Smoked salmon probably was the best on the plate -sure they could do better as one very small langoustine just looked lost. Pate was ok and skinny fries were fine

We stopped for lunch at the Creel & Caught ,had fish and chips and tacos We have been regular customers for some time however have notice on our last visit that the service /presentation and portion size has changed and not for the better I’m afraid to say ,girl at the till could barely look at me on taking the order .The fish was small and placed on a very small amount of chips with no peas as apparently this is an extra now ,definitely not worth £14.95 the tacos came with absolutely nothing on the plate ,presentation very poor .will not return to what was always our favourite place to stop for lunch .

A wonderful experience everytime I come. This is not my first time, but it's about time I actually write up a review of the place! When you go in, you are greeted with a wide range of various food stalls, from chicken to Chinese and more. Once seated, you can order your drinks to your table. Unfortunately though when me and my bestie visited, this option was unavailable. But you can easily walk up to the lovely bar and be served. (And to the Irish guy who served us, you were wonderful, sorry for the confusion haha). My choice everytime for coming here is from Salt & Chili, and is the Katsu Chicken Curry. So insanely good, with delicious spices. My friend got chicken tenders and waffle fries from Chooks, which were amazing. Ended the evening with ice cream from Jo's Gelato, not a first during my trip this time, but they have probably the best ice cream around. If you don't go in for a meal, I recommend walking in just for an ice cream to take out! Plenty of choices to choose from. Perfect for those who like to have a variety of choice when it comes to food!

Popped in for a quick coffee as I was early for a meeting. When the coffee arrived it had over spilled into the saucer. When I went and asked for a napkin to clean I was told they didn’t have any and would have to go and get from another outlet. I politely asked the server to get for me and when they arrived they were thrown down in front of me. Will never return.

We saw a queue whilst in the shopping centre and looking for food so not familiar with the place. After a Google search queued to try it out, the wait was short though once in wasn't sure what we were supposed to do next. We were directed (not shown) by pointing to a higher seat based up the back and we sat down to what we assumed was the correct seat even though there were empty, lower seats around us. We looked at the menu that directs you to QR codes one for food menus and one for drinks however message stated unable to take online orders to the bar. Okay so after locating the table number headed to the bar for £3.75 for a small bottle of juice and was instructed to go to my food venue of choice to order food. We decided on fish tacos for £10.50 and cod in a bag for £14.95 with a side of fries. You are given a buzzer to collect your own food, which was nerve-wracking going through crowds with a tray of food. It's expensive for what you get. Food tasted good though portions sizes small and tacos were served cold, cod was served with nice veg but swimming in a greasy sauce. Still hungry we decided on a gelato cone, again nice enough but pricey at £3.95 a cone. All in all it was a new experience, similar to ordering from Wetherspoons with expectation of better food die to higher price tag but it wasn't an overall brilliant experience

Great place to visit with young kids (8and 9) the wide choice of food can please most palate’s, the only reason I’m marking it down is the pricey bar prices. The food is very reasonably priced. I noticed some knowledgeable locals taking advantage of the free water station. The shopping centre itself is eye opening for country bumpkins like us.

If you are happy running around to collect your own food & drink then OK, but not for me. Bar is pricey as they only serve schooner measures (which is 75% of a pint) but at pint prices. But main concern is that the food outlet leaves your order on a shelf for you to collect, whilst at the same time people are placing their orders over yours. Not hygenic as the order can lay there some time before you can collect it whilst people are talking, shouting, coughing etc. over it! They should leave the order under the shelf, not on it.

We really liked this place and went twice on our short visit to Edinburgh the food was excellent and dining area was spotless

Amazing! Me and my daughter got the Chicken Katsu from Salt & Chilli and it was full of flavour and I would def order that again. My daughter then had a biscoff pancake which was beyond tasty and surprisingly large. We ended up sharing it due to the size, which I’m not complaining about ha ha. We are looking forward to visiting the next time we are in Edinburgh!

Excellent food all with a variety of restaurants and cuisines there is something for every tastebud in here. Would visit again.

I don't understand why they decided to build a new shopping mall but make the main food court so small. The Q to go in then the wait to find a table. Just really bad planning. The food was ok but expensive and it's a shame as I like the concept. Thinking the planning team will be regretting the small size in years to come and they will have to find a way to expand the space as not fit for purpose.

Wanted a bite to eat before the theatre, but didn't want a sit-down restaurant meal. First time here, no queue at 1130am on a Saturday. Wandered round looking at all the menus. My mum and I decided to share a burger & chips from El Perro Negro, and the banana/ oreo pancakes from Stack & Still. Given buzzers, and within 5 minutes both had buzzed. Enjoyed the burger and chips. The pancakes were delicious. Bar is quite pricey, so we just had a soft drink. Left at 1230ish, large queue had formed at the entrance....it was good, but I wouldn't queue to come

Had lunch in soup and caboodle. Excellent choice of soups with a large sourdough roll. We all enjoyed our lunches. Very accessible for all major city attractions. Can't wait to return.

This rating would be a one if the manager hadn’t been so very sorry and actioned our complaint as best he could. My brother is diabetic and I overheard 3 staff members talking about him and his injection feet from our table. The staff continued to stare at us while passing by, sniggering and smirking to each other. I had no idea what the issue was and honestly thought that no way this was about us because they were discussing the ‘problem’ so close to our table. I went to a manager who told me I was correct, they were talking about my brother and that they thought he was going to the bathroom with a vape. The manager really done his best in the moment to turn this around but I still feel upset about the whole situation. Food is great but the attitude and respect of the staff is not.

This was a new experience for me. The food hall has a variety of restaurants and street food kitchens to choose from and you and your friends choose any table then can select food from any venue. I chose the Creel Caught platter from Creel Caught - smoked salmon, prawn Marie Rise, smoked mackerel pâté, hot smoked salmon, langoustine, olives, cornicing, celeriac Arran mustard slaw and brown bread (£14.95). My friend chose the Katsu Chicken Bao and Salt Chilli Fries from Salt & Chilli Oriental (£9.90) and a pancake from Stack and Still (£2.75 for a single with toppings at extra cost). Wine from the main bar The Hauf & Howff is quite expensive but the Sauvingon Blanc was tasty. I will definitely be back.

There are quite a few different eating places in this one building. Would please most people I would expect. We only wanted a light lunch so had some pancakes from Stack and Still. Both savoury and sweet are available and cooked fresh. Would like to try some of the street food places that were there next time we go.

We had southern fried calamari which was like rubber and was tasteless. We complained to the staff and told them it was overcooked and was like rubber. They were great and cooked us another one. Unfortunately it was exactly the same and they replaced the with a piece of fish which was very nice. Obviously a very poor product, which was suprising from a restaurant called Creel Caught owned or endorsed by Gary Maclean! We won't be back but commend the staff on their handling of the problem.

I was impressed when I first entered the market place - it looks fab (sparkley) and lots of delicious food options to choose from.. I felt less impressed after paying £7.95 for a small glass of wine! After purusing the menus online, I eventually decided on Creel Caught as it sounded high end, fresh and tasty. I was wrong! Received what was basically a fish burger and chips in a plastic basket and paid £14 for the privilege. Chips were just chips nothing special, fish in the burger was okish but ruined by the plastic basket lined with paper that got ripped and mixed in with the food. Burger bread was average at best and there was no sign of the dark crab mayonnaise? Left feeling bloated and extremely disappointed. High end prices and distinctly average food. Its unlikely I will return.

This was our family day to Edinburgh from Newcastle so we went here recommended What can I say this is just awful. The mocktails were 90% ice and as we went to try all the food, this was just awful.We left without eating there and without finishing our drinks.

In general this place is just overrated compared to other great eateries in the city. I think it is just a hype. If I had to go again then I would only eat the chicken at Chooks as it is pretty decent.
