Stopped here for lunch while visiting Dorchester and Poundbury. It's a cosy little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. As it was sunny, I chose to sit outside and ordered the Pesto Eggs with a glass of cold Latte. I'm not a fan of sourdough, but it went well with the rest of the ingredients. The eggs were cooked just right for my tastes. The runny yolks, pesto and olive oil softened the bread just the right amount. The watercress and chives dressing went really well with the dish too. The mild floral scent of the watercress hits you just before you take a bit, follow by the sharper taste of the chives until it mellows out to the olive oil and eggs,

I had been recommended to visit Bonjour for their excellent coffee. We had a tea and a coffee and these were fine. We wanted a brunch - the menu was unusual. Pesto eggs? I asked for eggs and bacon with sour dough bread. The food was pretty awful. The bacon was hard and fatty and the bread was really oily. We have both had indigestion all afternoon. We won’t be returning.

We stopped here for a spot of lunch; really tasty sausage rolls and lovely outdoor seating area. Like other reviews, we were slightly confused about the tray instead of a plate, and both sausage rolls came on one tray for the both of us but that was quickly rectified by the friendly waitress. A very cozy cafe widths strong community vibe, the staff seemed to know many of the customers by name which is a testament to the community. Pastel de nata was amazing. Was a little confused about the baked goods coming on a tray altogether which meant I had to use a napkin as a plate; I would have preferred a plate. A lovely, cute cafe.

I overheard a conversation in a shop about how nice this little place was, then stumbled upon it and so gave it a try. Eavesdropping paid off as it was a very pleasant experience. We shared avocado on sourdough, which came on 2 slices of nice toasted bread with salad. Yum. The latte was very good according to my expert companion who is very fussy about these things. The tea arrived in a pot, with a mini milk bottle and an attractive glass mug so got the thumbs up from me. Both drinks arrived with a sliver of dense brownie on the side. Nice touch. We sat outside in the shade as it did feel rather airless inside, but it was a very hot day. I did happen to note that the cakes in the cabinet also looked rather good and apparently are homemade, will praps try one on our return visit. All round, very nice.

We thought it might be quicker to stop off here for a quick coffee and then carry on our journey on the A35, but it wasn't. The cafe was fairly busy but as there were 2 staff and we didn't want anything to eat, we thought that would be fine. But unlike most places where your order is taken quickly and your drinks are served first, at Bonjour, they do the whole order for one table at a time, so if those arriving before you order food, then the service is very very slow. So 1* for service and 3* for the drinks themselves=2* overall. Thus it took 45 mins to order and drink two coffees. Presumably we aren't the sort of market they expect.

I live locally and had heard positive comments about this bijou cafe, I visited with a friend, the coffee was passable not really good but no cream available, there was a tiny (less than a cm) smear of something possibly chocolate brownie on the saucer. We had intended ordering a snack from the menu when a terrible smell of bleach alerted us to a lady cleaning the floor at the table behind us with a pretty grim bucket and mop. When I said the bleach was very strong, she explained that earlier a customer had spilled a whole cup of coffee on the floor.. Nobody had been at the table when we arrived 15 mins before.

Visited for lunch today, our first visit. The menu is very much to my taste, although it helps if you like beetroot! Thankfully, I love it. I highly recommend the avocado and beetroot salad, but was very tempted by most things on the menu. My husband had Croque Monsieur, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The cafe itself is charming. We're not generally keen on music in restaurants (or shops) but, at least the music wasn't intrusive. One thought, however, rather than the rather bland offering, how about some interesting French music? It could really add something.

My friend and I were up in Poundbury and having already given a few of the other cafes a go, we decided to find out what was awaiting us within this beautiful little french styled cafe, well we were not dissapointed, the lady welcomed us with a smile and some little small talk and before we knew it we were already ordering a couple of coffees' and a piece of cake each. So having placed our orders, we found a seat in the window, which although close to the till, we did not feel looked over or awkward at any point during our visit. When the coffees' arrived, they were presented with a cheeky, handmade biscotti on the side and the cappuccino came in the cutest mug I have ever seen, they were also well worth the cost as they were huge mugs (but not too big). Unfortunately the labels on the cakes had been misplaced, so when my friend thought she had ordered a fruit tart, it came out as a Orange and Almond tart, however not wanting to cause a stink, she ate it and by the look on her face in the first mouthful, she was definitely pleased with the little surprise that had presented itself in front of her. I had gone for the Apple and Raspberry cake which was perfect, fruity and crumbly with just a hint of puddingnes to it.I would definitely return to Bonjour as it is the perfect place to spend with friends over a coffee or lunch and coming in under five quid for a coffee and a cake, I will definitely be recommending this one to all of my friends! Whilst modest, it is decorated with panache and flair, and quite simply the food is fabulous! From beautifully presented french pastries, pate, salmon and prawns, with the added bonus as being extreamly good value, which is a breath of fresh air in Poundbury! Bonjour is a lovely little cafe tucked away in the streets of Poundbury. It's a great place for lunch or just for a morning coffee/afternoon tea (with cake, of course!). I have visited several times for lunch and there's always a good choice of lunch options - the 'roulade' savoury pastry is delicious - it's served with mixed salad leaves and a small bottle of their tasty salad dressing - a bargain at £3! There are usually several different choices of baguettes, etc and wonderful cakes to follow. The hazelnut cake I had last week was wonderful! There are lots of others to choose from - I think most of them are homemade too. The ladies at Bonjour are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They also sell a few gifts and have papers/magazines to peruse. In good weather you can also sit at a table outside. I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit!

Apologies for tardiness in a report. This little patisserie is a real jem. The delicious cakes are to die for. When we had the floods and dreadful weather way back in the summer I braved the journey to come here from Lyme Regis where I live just to get my fix of yummy cakes and tasty salads and lunch. Coffee is really gorgeous served in lovely mugs and the tea in pretty cups and saucers. A delightful place that will delight all who visit.I have brought my foreign students each time I have visited and they too love the cakes as does my mother who lives in Devon. The yummiest tiramasu cakes in the world, need to eat more than one next time as not often enough made!!!Cannot wait til my next fix!!!!Many thanks

We had an incredible experience at the Cross Keys. Mo and his team hosted my Father's funeral wake yesterday. The whole experience was incredible - made so special by Mo, Lucy, David and the girls. Nothing was too much trouble, and we felt completely wrapped up in their arms from the moment we walked through the door to make the arrangements, right through to the day itself. I cannot thank the team enough for creating such a special celebration, which you planned so incredibly well. The delicious food platters were superb, and all the guests said what a beautiful venue it was. I was personally nurtured throughout the whole day, with Mo and Lucy checking in with me to make sure everything was perfect - and even David coming in on his day off to make sure my Dad's favourite music was being played. I can't thank them all enough from the bottom of my heart for all their kindness. We stayed in their family suite for the night. Our room was superb, with the biggest bed I've ever slept in, and beautiful views out onto the market square and the Conduit. I can thoroughly recommend a stay at the Cross Keys - the service is exceptional, the rooms amazing, and the breakfast was superb. We also had our evening meal in the restaurant, and it was exceptional. THANK YOU TO THE WHOLE TEAM AT THE CROSS KEYS - YOU ARE ALL AMAZING.

Booked The Potting Shed for a private party last night! It was fabulous and just as I wanted! The venue is gorgeous, all the staff attentive, friendly, brilliant and went above and beyond, the food amazing and delicious ❤️🥳 Couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate with friends and family (it was so good, forgot to take many photoks)!! Would 100% recommend to anyone. You deserve all the recognition. Thank you x

We came with friends as we had all been gifted afternoon tea, and chose to visit this tearoom. We booked just over a week in advance. What a great choice! A great selection of beautifully fresh finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam. and a selection of small cakes, which were so light. Absolutely scrumptious. We weren't rushed, so we could sit and enjoy our food. The folk working in the tearoom were very welcoming and we had a delightful afternoon. Thank you!
