Was expecting an authentic Filipino dish but it's not. The chicken inasal doesn't taste like inasal. The longanisa has a faint taste of longanisa but when you eat it with rice you taste it anymore. So i wouldn't recommend this if you're a filipino who wants a taste of home.

Superlative food, but the waitress Queen is the most beatiful and kind worker of all London! She is patient, smiley, and she is able to suggest you the dishes that can be your most beatiful food experience in that restaurant. I ate their cauliflowers and they were delicious! Thank you Queen. Hope your work and your smiles are appraciate by your colleagues and your clients. Hope that you remember me Thank you for your kindness! 💕🦋

This was the first time I had Filipino food and I was not disappointed at all. I felt welcomed and it was a joy to eat here. I found the staff very nice and friendly. The adobo chicken wings were amazing, the chicken skin was still crispy even with the sticky adobo sauce/glaze. My sister really liked it too. It nearly made me consider getting another portion! When the main arrived. Chef decided to surprised us with something and added extra food (the chorizo style sausage) on our plate just to introduce us to more of their food. I was really happy with this because it really shows that the team really cares about introducing Filipino food to people who never had it. Chicken satay curry was tasty. Pork belly I expected to be like slow-cooker tender but had a bite which I still really liked almost like fatty pork steak. The food had flavour. Immense flavour. As expected, rice was cooked nicely. I really liked the presentation of the dish. It's heavy on garnish but felt really fun and exciting to eat. We also got a free drink as well and tasted almost like Yakult milk. Was really refreshing and much needed. Overrall, this place is the best I've eaten in London so far (only been there for 2 days RIP). I will recommend this place to all of my friends. Only advice, I should've ordered more food.

After a week in london. I was craving rice with some taste of filipino dish. Coming from calif usa. My expectation of food here were not that high and i was not disappointed. Definitely a hint of filipino but more catered to english palate. Food is 2 stars but i gave 3 bc of friendly servers. Some items on menu were not avail during my visit.

Wonderful place to sit down for a hearty meal in Seven Dials market! My friends and I got a bit of everything to share - the crispy pork with pancakes was a highlight for me, super crispy on the outside and very tender meat; and so were the chicken and aubergine curry - the curry sauce itself is divine. The portion size was pretty decent and we thought the place offered good value for money overall. The atmosphere is nice and staff were very kind. Special thanks to our waitress Belinda for the excellent and friendly service too. I would gladly recommend to anyone in the area and would come back myself. ☺️ - aninnnn vlogs

Had a quick takeaway lunch of the small lunch box with rice and Satay chicken. Came really well presented in a takeaway box with lots of fresh herbs, chilli, spring onions and pickled ginger to complement the satay chicken and peas. Tasty, enough of the extra elements that allow you to spice up the chicken to taste - good flavour and quick service. Small box and one dish were plenty big enough for lunch. Great lunch and will be going back to try other dishes.

Food was absolutely delicious. I learnt about this place through Netflix’s ‘One-million pound meal’. I really liked the owners on there and their take on the Phillipino cuisine. I had never tried it before but left very impressed. I had the satay chicken with rice and the adobo glazed cauliflower. The cauliflower was by far the best cauliflower dish I’ve ever had. The next day, there was no negative effects from the meal. I recommend this place to anyone that loves trying new cuisines.

We are here after seeing them on TV as BBQ dreams. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The fried chicken - this was the best dish, well cooked and quite tender. The chicken satay - was watery and didn't have great flavour. If I blind taste tested this I wouldn't know it was a satay. The pork belly - was barely a pass flavour and texture wise, nothing special. Big disappointment after seeing the TV show! The chorizo - was probably second best but nothing I'd go back for. The spring rolls - were unfortunately terrible. Almost no filling so they didn't taste of much other than something crispy to dip into sauce. On top of this we ordered the papaya slaw then were told there was none left later so they substituted it with pickled cucumber - which we weren't happy with. We wanted to love this place but would never go back and cannot recommend.

If I can give no star for this, I will. We have many complaints regarding the restaurant especially their customer service. 1. Customer Service is the worst - The thin girl with short hair and Indian accent - not sure if she is the manager or not, is not very accomodating and disrespectful of customers. So if she is the manager, then it is worse. She pressured us to order faster as there is a long queue and wouldn't accomodate questions. This is the worst customer service I experienced in a restaurant especially for a Filipino one considering we are known to be hospitable. The reason why we have to ask questions before we order is because their menu is so confusing and not easy to understand. 2. Food - the food is average so it is not worth for its price. There is a lot of garnish so it looks more than it really is. 3. Atmosphere - This is located in a very busy place, felt like a fastfood but the price is not like fastfood. I am attaching pictures of food and official reciept as proof that we ate there and this is a valid review.

Walked into the seven dials market after watching a play at Donmar Warehouse which is right next to the market. Found this lovely food station in the corner of the ground floor. This is my first time trying filipino food, and I ordered cicken satay curry and filipino chorizo with rice. The food appeared appetizing and tasted really good. Staff was most friendly and the food was quickly prepared. Reasonably priced for the taste and the location. Great atmopshere inside this big market, and you get to sit at wherever you like. I enjoy filipino food and I came to see this restaurant’s take on modern filipino food to attract people who have no eaten filipino food. 1. Filipino food is all about hospitality. No hospitality whatsoever. No eye contact. No welcoming. 2. I got the pork belly and a side of Longanisa which both was in soy sauce. I know filipino food loves soy sauce but the consistency of it always being as a sauce for food. I would recommend dicing red tomatoes with the soy sauce if the soy sauce is a must. & there is way too much coriander. 3. More staff. No wonder why the server was not welcoming. Managing the door, customers and tables. Let the girl breathe. 4. No options for takeaway drinks other than bottled drinks. Seem’s a bit silly to promote filipino food without the option of taking away one of the most popular drinks in Philippines aka the calamansi juice. Not even bottled water was available. However, this restaurant provides quick comfort food for fellow filipino’s which is nice.

AVOID THIS PLACE BAD SERVICE, “OPTIONAL” 10% SERVICE CHARGE (never mentioned to us/ on menu) AND NOT AUTHENTIC FILIPINO FOOD. I’m Filipino. The place was busy (Saturday Oct 15 evening) but there was NOT a single Filipino in the restaurants. I had the adobo chicken wings and DO NOT ORDER IT. Tastes nothing close to Filipino adobo. THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE. Waited to get seated for 10 minutes, while the staff were just on their phone. When food was served, there was no cutlery delivered. The staff was unfriendly and they need to smile more. BEWARE! “optional” 10% TIP IS ADDED TO THE BILL. It was never even mentioned to us until I fortunately checked the bill. It’s NOT EVEN WRITTEN ON THE ITEMIZED RECEIPT. WHAT A JOKE. AVOID THIS PLACE COSTS! NOT AUTHENTIC FILIPINO FOOD ————————- EDIT (Response to the Owner's reply): Clearly you don't remember us because there were 3 of us NOT 2. Also, no, there was an employee of yours on the phone while we waited 10 minutes. We also did not even get a "we'll be right with you" (like what most restaurants do). We also DID NOT seat ourselves - your staff seated us when we got her attention. Another couple also left due to the service while we were there. Copy of receipt is also attached. Good thing I asked for it, or else I would have NEVER known about the 10%. Think of all the customers that don't know about this charge because they didn't ask for a receipt and as mentioned earlier, the 10 % SERVICE CHARGE NOT ON THE MENU NOR MENTIONED BY STAFF. Please just stop making excuses. --------------------- EDIT #2 (Response to Owner’s 2nd comment) Thank you for acknowledging our comments. I can see that you really care about your business and the reviews. Just one last piece of advice - As mentioned in the other reviews, please provide proper training to your workers. I have worked in the hospitality business and I was trained to smile and kindly welcome customers. The staff weren’t smiling and would like to have a more welcoming vibe in the restaurant. Due to you reading/ listening to our reviews, I would consider returning and giving your restaurant a 2nd chance in the future. Thank you.

Lacklustre. I ordered the Megabox at £17 and, while the flavours were fine, the dish was nothing spectacular. The portion was small and I was missing the extra sausage that comes with this dish. While I would like to be more positive, this is a £9 dish that has an insane markup considering the elements it is missing. Overall, I would recommend giving this a miss. —-Updated 18 October—- Response to owner comments—- I appreciate you providing an insight into your price-point. Unfortunately the quality of this dish was simply not there, irrespective of the breakdown you have provided: whether that is down to the quality of your ingredients, the chef or indeed a combination of both. While I certainly appreciate your desire to provide an explanation to less than positive feedback, it is quite apparent that my review is based on value; specifically the quality of the ingredients, quantity and what you are charging; nevermind my particular dish being incomplete. Again, unfortunately I cannot recommend anyone paying £17.00 for this particular dish. —-Updated 25th October—- Response to owner comments—- Hi Lee The explanation of how you quantify the cost of your dish is sound and I have no qualms with that point. However, I would point out that you are not an average restaurant in Covent Garden, you’re effectively a pop up in a food court, so it’s not comparable. In any case, I feel you are missing the point. On my visit, the quality was lacking. If the taste of the dish was fantastic, I would happily pay £17.00. I stand by my own experience and recommendation; clearly recent reviews from other customers highlight that I am not alone in my view.

The Mega box was not Mega. Come on. The flavors were good. But the chicken were chopped too finely. The pork belly was not crispy. Loved the vinegar. There was a miniscule amount of atchara. For £15 it was overpriced. The calamansi was extremely sour £4 a glass. Staff could be more pleasant. ***Thank you for explaining the price to me. Now I get it. Would be nice not to call it Mega as it raises ones expectation regarding the portion. I have read other comments and I am not the only one pointing this out. Again, I did enjoy the meal. Just not the size for the price. But I do get it with the rising costs. Please train staff to be nicer. We take time to go to London to enjoy a meal and this does not help when staff are unfriendly. BTW, for those reading this the staff were not Filipinos.

Came here as I'm a huge fan of Filipino food and ordered the Mega mega box and an Adobo glazed cauliflower to share with a friend. Mega mega box (£17) few pieces of pork belly on a bed of rice with spices and spring onion. The pork belly was good but the rice was way overcook. For the price I wish there were more pieces. Adobe glazed cauliflower (7.5)- had high hopes for this as it was recommended but it was way oversalted and completely drenched with sauce. I normally love saucy dishes but because it was too salty I had to try to brush off the sauce. Service was slow and we didn't get water until the end of the meal - the wait for food can be explained but oddly enough the food ces out cold. Prices are higher than indicated on the website. All in all it was £27 and you can get better food /experience elsewhere.

We were the first group of four patrons to arrive on a Friday noon and was ushered to a cosy corner. Bongbong’s is clean and nicely decorated. If you are dining with the elderlies or young children, I think this is one of the more conducive places recommended for a sit-down meal. For our lunch we ordered the below. As the dishes were cooked on-demand, I find that the wait is reasonable. The food was fresh, delicious and the portions generous. We are familiar with Filipino cuisine and Bongbong’s version is playful. It was value for money also. It’s a backbreaking job working in F&B but we noticed that the three staff at Bongbong’s were busy in the kitchen, attending to people etc. I will return, and thank you to everyone at Bongbong’s Seven Dials Market! ❤ Adobo glazed chicken wings ❤ Crispy pork with rice ❤ Extra atchara ❤ Grilled satay aubergine with vermicelli ❤ Longanisa sausages with rice ❤ ❤ ❤ Prawn crackers (hands down, everyone’s favourite.)

Kinda like another culture tried to emulate Filipino food. It's odd. It even had vermicelli as a substitute for rice. It's also pricey for its quality. Some might find this appealing but personally it's not even close to authentic Filipino food. Edit: server was also rude lol. Edit to edit: 1. I didn’t say 12.50 is not a reasonable price in CENTRAL LONDON. I said it’s pricey for the quality. Don’t try to insinuate that I’m a cheapskate lol. I am not stingy when it comes to food and my body reflects that 😂 2. We were lead to believe it’s authentic given the name of the place and decorations. We only find out later on that it was featured somewhere. I found an article saying “Keeping to its original roots as a street food concept menus is a mix of small and large plates of authentic home-cooked Filipino dishes.” So is the article lying when you said you never claimed to be authentic? 3. I don’t need to go to a place where there are a lot of Filipino restaurants just to eat authentic ones. We tried another Filipino restaurant which is way more expensive but it was worth it. 4. I am not questioning your “Filipino-ness”. You could have been an Italian but provides good Fil food and I wouldn’t even care. 5. Yes, pancit is a staple in Filipino cuisine but not a plain, boiled vermicelli noodles. Pancit is not a plain vermicelli noodles nor a salad so let’s call a spade a spade. 6. Maybe tone down on the passive-aggressive comments on the feedbacks. I wasn’t going to say anything else then you have added your comment. You could have just said “sorry you didn’t enjoy your meal at blah blah and we will try to be better blah blah.” I never expected for my short review to be responded by a long passive-aggressive response. Maybe remove the reviews if you don’t like them (not sure if that’s possible) 7. Daddy chill 😭

Waited ages for our food despite it being quiet, and I’ve never seen a group of staff move so slowly, and that includes the chefs. It was infuriating to watch. They could have lost two members of staff and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. If I was the owner, I’d be very annoyed.

Unfortunately service let the place down. I can't comment on the food as we left after half an hour when we still hadn't even received drinks. Was looking forward to eating here. Yet they were understaffed and the two staff who were there (doing everything - greeting guests, cleaning up, taking orders and serving) seemed overwhelmed and inexperienced at dealing with a busy restaurant on the Jubilee weekend. They needed more help. We were only a party of four. Arrived at 1.25pm and were seated. Had to ask to get the table cleaned and then again for our order to be taken. We ordered 3 drinks, 3 mains plus a portion of fries and prawn crackers. Called one of the staff over at 1.50pm and said we hadn't received our drinks yet. He came and put a can of coke on our table, which we hadn't ordered. I said we hadn't ordered the coke and he either didn't hear or ignored us. A few minutes later, still no food, not even the crackers, or the right drinks. At this point, half an hour after being first seated, we decided to walk out. At least serve the drinks and the crackers in a timely manner and then we would have been happy to wait for our mains! To not have even drinks after half an hour is not acceptable. The staff said, "You have a big order" - three mains, some crackers (which don't need cooking) and some fries for a table of 4 is hardly a mountain of an order. And we weren't the only ones who seemed frustrated. Such a shame as we had read good reviews and were looking forward to trying the dishes.

The Filipino food here is great! Very tasty, and very appetizing! There are also vegan/vegetarian options, which is great as Filipino food is not known to be vegetarian-friendly. 😅 The staff is very nice and the food is affordable! By the way, the restaurant is in the Seven Dials Market.

First time trying this place. No queues, nice and empty. Service with a smile. Ordered the pork and jasmine rice. Including service charge £13.75. Not bad, there was a lot of pork. Tasty but if I'm totally honest, some bits were dry. Rice was nice, sauce had flavour, pity there wasn't enough of it. Next time I might try something else. Toilets are downstairs, there is a lift.

Havent eaten here yet, but randomly spoke to the owners at their food truck on Southbank yesterday. The place has been on my radar and just because an awesome human connection me and the sister have made a plan for next weekend to finally visit. Nice humans. Pleasant interactions go a long long way. Just wanted to say thank you in advance for that and see you next weekend!

I would not waste my time trying to order from this restaurant. I tried to order food for 30 minutes and was ignored by the staff. Once I left the line; two couples left behind me since they had also been waiting a long time. There is much better food in this market that involves ordering a meal.

GOOD. Elevated Filipino food. Good presentation. I ordered the crispy pork and chicken satay and they are delightful. I like the chicken more than the pork as the latter is a little bland for my taste. But still good. I’m surprised that a Filipino joint like this should be teeming with Filipinos but I’m the only Filipino guy eating. It is packed with non Filipinos. Even the staff are non Filipinos. NOT SO GOOD. Front of house should smile more. A little pricey in my opinion.

TLDR - poor organisation/service and awful vegetarian food (can't comment on meat) I have had to try Bonbbong's for a while now, as last time I came the queue was massive. Seeing that yesterday there wasn't a queue at all I couldn't pass up what I thought was my golden opportunity to try Filipino food for my first time. I ordered the sizzling sisig mushrooms pata pancake (£15 for 5). After 15 minutes of waiting, I still saw nothing, so I went to check with the staff. They gestured 2 minutes, and quickly printed off my order and passed it on to the kitchen... I was disappointed to say the least. He dish was described as being like Chinese Duck pancakes. That part was true - there were five pancakes. Then you got several toppings like spring onion, pickles, chilli etc on the tray and a big plate full of the mushrooms. These were garnished with what I assume we're peanut flakes. There was also some underlying spice, but again I couldn't tell what it was. The watery mushrooms were fried so much in what I I assume was soy sauce, that the salt overpowered everything else, leaving an unpleasant burning sensation with every piece. I believe that not every dish is for everyone. However, given a proper effort everyone should be able to appreciate a dish without rejecting it in its entirety. Unfortunately this was one of a handful of experiences where I couldn't put myself through even half of the dish.

I’m new to Filipino food, but I loved the flavours. I got the crispy pork rice plate and my friend got the chicken satay, and we shared a side of longanisa. The pork was really tender and a good serve and comes with a tasty sauce; the chicken satay was delicious and the longanisa was delightful. I also appreciated the colour the salad added to the plate. However, my rice was way over cooked - basically a mushy, sticky pile. I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to be like that. The gentleman who took our order didn’t check on us until we were almost finished, otherwise I would have said something. I also feel like the value wasn’t the greatest - it’s delicious, but it’s not very much food for £12. I think I would’ve liked a bit more rice (and for the rice to not be soggy).

Lechon kawali’s the best. You will keep coming back for more. Recommending this resto. Being a filipino and a chef, I could say that this is absolutely fantastic!! Kudos to the chef!!

This should be regarded as a destination deli. We were on holiday in East London & sought it out. It has every imaginable cooking ingredient, plus amazing fresh produce & freshly baked / cooked take-away treats. Large selection of Greek & Italian cheeses plus Labneh & other dairy goods. There's a huge central fresh olive bar. A back wall of every conceivable spice. A counter selling Jamaican patties, empanadas & Lebanese kibbeh etc. Really wanted to buy some but didn't have enough luggage capacity to carry it all home on the train. They had prepared salads, kebabs & sell hot rotisserie chickens. Huge side wall of pasta & rice varieties plus a middle aisle of pickles, oils & vinegars. A counter of sweet fresh baklava & other treats & then several varieties of Turkish delight & halva. We're very pleased that they offer mail order - we will be using that service now that we're back home.
