Bond Street! This name alone sounds like elegance, luxury and discreet shine. And that's exactly what she is! One of London's most famous shopping streets, located in the heart of Mayfair, between Oxford Street to the north and Piccadilly to the south. When you leave the sparkling subway and enter the street, you immediately sense that something is different here than on other shopping streets in the city. It is quieter, more dignified and there is no hectic hustle and bustle, just people strolling, often in tailored clothing, with shopping bags that have names like Chanel, Hermès, Gucci, Cartier or Dior. Bond Street does not stand for shopping, but for experience and exclusivity. Bond Street actually consists of two parts: Old Bond Street in the southern section, closer to Piccadilly and New Bond Street in the northern part, towards Oxford Street Both together form a single, continuous street, but historically and architecturally they differ slightly. Old Bond Street is slightly narrower and characterized by Georgian architecture, while New Bond Street appears more spacious and combines more modern facades with classic stylistic elements. The paving is well maintained and the street space almost looks like a promenade. Between elegant lanterns, hanging baskets and discreet surveillance, Bond Street is designed to invite but also select its visitors with a subtle wink. Bond Street is home to almost every major international luxury brand from Rolex to Louis Vuitton, Burberry to Prada. Many stores here are flagship stores, the most important of their kind in the world or at least in the UK. In addition to fashion houses, there are also traditional art galleries and auction houses such as Sotheby’s, which have been based here for centuries. Yes, exactly, this Sotheby's where Leonardo Da Vinci's "Salvator Mundi" was auctioned here in London in 1958 for just 45 British pounds to a private bidder. Sixty years later it sells for $450 million. Art is as big a tradition on Bond Street as fashion. Many buildings on Bond Street are listed. You can see Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian facades that have been renovated with great care. Particularly striking are the elaborately designed entrances to the shops, often with doormen, polished brass handles and shop windows that look more like showrooms. In the middle of the street is the statue of Churchill and Roosevelt sitting side by side on a bench. A symbol of British-American friendship. A popular photo spot, right in the heart of luxury. Surrounding Bond Street is Mayfair, one of London's most affluent areas, full of five-star hotels, private clubs, galleries and fine restaurants. Hyde Park, the Royal Academy of Arts, Green Park and the Regent Street and Savile Row are also within walking distance. It's an old-school London where style is more important than show. As of: April 19, 2025 "Luxury is when the day begins like a Monet painting. Soft, lavish and completely pointlessly beautiful. When breakfast is served on porcelain that should actually be on display and the spoon sounds like jazz as it stirs the teacup. Wealth is not what accumulates, but what unfolds - a moment of real leisure, a walk through a gallery where you suddenly see your own life in oil on canvas. Enjoyment? This is the art of framing it all now, with a gold edge and a wink, knowing that the most precious possession is the ability to be a little masterpiece for yourself.”

Bond Street Tube Station isn’t just a transit hub—it’s a gateway to another dimension, a portal into the very essence of London’s luxury and adventure! As you descend into its underground realm, the air hums with an electric anticipation, whispering secrets of high fashion and untold shopping sprees. The escalators? Glorious stairways to retail heaven, carrying you effortlessly into the heart of Mayfair like a chariot of the gods. The tiled walls shimmer with the reflections of well-dressed commuters, each one a protagonist in their own stylish odyssey. And the arrival of the train? A theatrical moment of destiny, as if the universe itself has aligned to whisk you off on your next grand pursuit. But the true magic lies in its proximity—emerging from its depths, you are greeted by the golden glow of Bond Street, where the very air smells of fine leather and possibility. The station itself is more than a stop; it’s an initiation into a world where time slows, wallets open, and dreams are measured in Chanel bags and Rolex watches. Forget Platform 9¾—if you want true magic, just tap your Oyster card and step into Bond Street’s enchanted embrace. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The name’s Bond… Street! This station has had a huge revamp ever since the Elizabeth line was built through here. It’s a great station that looks very modern (mostly) and the central and jubilee line platforms are not to be forgotten either! MORE AT Google

A nice London station with good new facilities and connections. Bond Street in the West End of London links Piccadilly in the south to Oxford Street in the north. Since the 18th century the street has housed many prestigious and upmarket fashion retailers. The southern section is Old Bond Street and the longer northern section New Bond Street—a distinction not generally made in everyday usage. The street was built on fields surrounding Clarendon House on Piccadilly, which were developed by Sir Thomas Bond. It was built up in the 1720s, and by the end of the 18th century was a popular place for the upper-class residents of Mayfair to socialise. Prestigious or expensive shops were established along the street, but it declined as a centre of social activity in the 19th century, although it held its reputation as a fashionable place for retail, and is home to the auction houses Sotheby's and Bonhams (formerly Phillips) and the department store Fenwick and jeweller Tiffany's. It is one of the most expensive and sought after strips of real estate in Europe. There is evidence of Roman settlement around what is now Bond Street. In 1894, a culvert made from brick and stone was discovered in the area.[7] The street was named after Sir Thomas Bond, the head of a syndicate of developers who purchased a Piccadilly mansion called Clarendon House from Christopher Monck, 2nd Duke of Albemarle in 1686, and proceeded to demolish the house and develop the area.[8] At that time, the house backed onto open fields, known as Albemarle Ground, and the development of estates in Mayfair had just begun.[1] New Bond Street was laid out during the second phase of construction 14 years after Bond's syndicate began developing the area.[8] Most of the building along the street occurred in the 1720s, on what was the Conduit Mead Estate.[1][3] John Rocque's map of London, published in 1746, shows properties along the entire length of Bond Street, including the fully constructed side streets. The two parts of the street have always had separate names, and a plan by the council to merge the two into a singular "Bond Street" in the 1920s was rejected by locals.[9] During the 18th century, the street began to be popular with the bourgeoisie living around Mayfair. Shop owners let out their upper storeys for residential purposes, attracting lodgers such as Jonathan Swift, George Selwyn, William Pitt the Elder and Laurence Sterne.[1] In 1784, Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire, an active socialite, demanded that people boycott Covent Garden as its residents had voted against Whig member of parliament Charles James Fox. This had caused him to lose his seat in Parliament, leading to the dissolution of the Fox–North Coalition. She insisted people should look for nearer shopping streets, and encouraged people to go to Bond Street. Consequently, the street became a retail area for people living in Mayfair. By the end of the century, an upper-class social group known as the Bond Street Loungers had appeared, wearing expensive wigs and parading up and down the street in a pretentious manner Lord Nelson stayed at temporary lodgings in New Bond Street between 1797 and 1798, as did his mistress Emma, Lady Hamilton between 1811 and 1813.[10] Thomas Pitt, 2nd Baron Camelford lived in Bond Street and was unhappy about the presence of the Bond Street Loungers.[8] Already notorious for a violent and abusive temper, on 7 October 1801 he refused invitations to join in celebrations of peace between Britain and France (which led to the Treaty of Amiens), resulting in an altercation with several Loungers at his doorstep. Camelford retreated upstairs and fired upon the crowd with a pistol.[11] During the 19th century, Bond Street became less known for its social atmosphere but increased its reputation as a street for luxury shopping. The auctioneer Phillips was established in 1796 at No.

Today's gate failure at Bond Street main station. In the morning I couldn't get my oyster card out. In the evening after work I went to the station and wanted to ask what should I do with the oyster. I asked 2 female employees in uniform undergraund standing.Wrong information as a result, I touched the oyster from the inside of the gate. When I wanted to enter normally, the gate did not want to open. A small African woman with dreadlocks told me that it was not her problem and did not want to help me at all! It is amazing that someone like that works at a subway station. All what shi can do is stand there for nothing even if he can't smile to people on station past her! It's good that there was a supervisor there who knew what was going on and helped me get home. These types of anti-social people with zero customer service should not work at underground stations. It's nice to take money for nothing to do and mislead traveling people. And then take no responsibility for anything and be useless at work. What do underground clients spend their money on?! The kind of people who make their lives difficult and are rude. I think someone should be interested in this matter, because this cannot be.Tuesday 6th jun time 19:25-19:45. It's all new and shiny... But it's a nightmare for people with disabilities or for parents with a stroller. Just look at this lift guide. Imagine you make the mistake of entering from lift A in a wheelchair and you want to get to the Elizabeth line. You go down, then you need to go all the way to Lift B. And then walk all the way to Lift D, where the real troubles start. On a busy day you're completely stuck. The lift is full going down because people are going in from the top floor.. it's full going up because people are trying to exit after they get off the jubilee line... If you're lucky, you're onto the next stage, which is exactly the same nightmare... you have to ask people going up to tell people at the top to please not go in so the lift can pick up others on the middle level. Unbelievable. It's such a poor design! And for all the money spent, there's no excuse for this type of headache. Really poor.
