Bombay palace in Northampton

We had chicken tikka jawfrezi and chicken biriani. Both dishes were delicious. Service was great, thanks to Max, our waiter. Highly recommend to anyone with a desire for some reasonably priced, good quality Indian food.

Never disappoints! The best Indian restaurant in Northampton without a doubt. Obviously tried others in between, but have been going to this one with my family for around 30 years! I have moved away from the town now but still have to fit in a visit every time I’m back! Food is amazing and service to match. I can’t remember ever having a meal I wasn’t completely satisfied with.

I go for a curry almost every week. The curries are excellent and the staff are very friendly. The paneer dansak is my favourite.

We decided to try the Bombay after poor service at the Shajahan! Around the corner. We've used the Bombay Palace for some 20 years. We've consistently had good food, sometimes excellent! On the rare occasion that we've had something sub-standard over that very long period, it's never been an issue to get it sorted with Abdul, the owner. We've used many Indian restaurants in the Northampton area and the Bombay Palace sets the standard. It's great that the people who work there are friendly and helpful. That says something about the owner and his management approach!

In desperate need of a spicy heat feast to warm us up on a Saturday night we ventured down to Bombay Palace Indian Restaurant. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly Hello from the manager and the bar man . Coats taken we were shown to our seats in the restaurantDrinks ordered and poppadoms to keep hunger at bay we pursued an extensive menu full of Eastern delights and spicy promise We ordered 3 main dishes;2 rice; keema naan and a vegetable side dish. The food arrived smelling heavenly and presented in authentic dishes. All the dishes were beautifully flavouted and plentiful. Everyone commented on how enjoyable and tasty everything was. We ate everything!! Bill paid and goodbyes frim staff members we left Bombay Palace ....mission accomplished !!

This take away is normally very good but tonight I ordered a chicken byriani with extra vegetable side dish which was very poor. It was very sloppy and watered down with only two potato chunks in the main sauce and as I ordered an extra sauce because it’s normally dry I was actually pleasantly surprised to find a couple of extra veg in slop! The rice was very over cooked which was unusual and normally excellent! I think I found 3 small cubes of chicken again, unusual!Either the chef/cook was off sick or the standards have nose dived! This used to be my favorite Indian restaurant in Nh and I even wrote a very positive review not a long time ago. However, I visited the place recently and got food poisoning! I had to miss a day off work because I had nausea the whole day and I couldn't get out of bed. I sent a message to the restaurant and I never got an answer, even though I posted on their Fb site to check my message. I didn't want a scandal or any argument, I only asked them in a private message to check their food not to harm other customers. A 'sorry' would have been appreciated though - I wouldn't have written this review now. I haven't eaten there since.

Use this place on average a couple of times a month and never disappointed. There's usually a group of us and we are always made to feel welcome by the guys there. The menu is very traditional and reasonably priced. The food is always consistently very good.The takeaways we order are always delivered hot and on time and the contents are always correct! Definitely our Indian Restaurant of choice !

I had the best curry ever from here tonight. It was a chicken Malayan which has pineapple in it. All I can say is "Simply Simply Lovely"!! I will definitely be returning and I will book a table in the restaurant next time.

We'd had take-away Indian food from here before. Based on that positive experience we decided to have a family birthday celebration in the restaurant here. The menu offers a very wide option of dishes and the strength of each category is well explained. We were served without a long wait and the food was in generous quantities. The price was also very reasonable. Food was well-cooked and satisfying.Some Indian music in the background helps the ambiance of a quite small dining area. Near us were some rather loud voiced men, so that didn't please me. The waiters were polite and helpful but could have been a bit more friendly - a smile after all doesn't cost anything. Parking is just around the corner in the car park outside Waitrose (but a 2-hour limit unless you want to pay a hefty fine!) - or there are streets off the Harborough Road.

Went to this restaurant for my birthday with my hubby and son. What a disappointment! The coke was flat and tasteless as was the lemonade. I ordered a meat thali which was ok but the seek kebab was tasteless. My son thought the lamb biryanis was good but preferred one of the curries from my thali to the one that came with his dish! My hubby ordered the peri peri chicken which he thought was ok but it came with a small roti thing which was far too small for such a large amount of chicken, so he had the one that came with my dish as well! All in all, the initial flat drinks were our first and last impression. If our meal has started off on a good note with a fresh drink, we would have had a nice meal out. As it was, the flat drinks left a bad taste in our mouths and nothing after really got rid of it! First impressions last people, try and make a good one.

I used to eat here regularly but hadn't been for a few years. Visited recently and was still as good if not better. Love the updated menu especially the healthier options. Discount between Sunday and Thursday.

Hemos usado este lugar por más de 5 años sobre una o dos veces al mes. Normalmente las comidas han sido de moderada a buena. Sin embargo, desde mayo hemos tenido 5 llevar y sólo 2 han sido satisfactorios. Los otros 3 tanto para nuestras comidas eran bajos en contenido de carne en salsa y codiciado líquidos sin descuidadas espesor. Había incluso un d cokk grasa aceite flotando alrededor de 8 g y visible. Basta hemos decidido no utilizar el Bombay Palace de nuevo pero quizás les daría una oportunidad más cerca del final del año. Priti Raj siempre es mejor desde nuestro punto de vista.
