Bombay Indian Brasserie in Gedling

We are very fond of this place. It was our second Mapperley visit after we moved to the area. The service is attentive without being suffocating, and the food is flavoursome. Prices are not at all bad, especially for the current times. The tandoori starters - to share - and the prawn tawa are my selections.

First visit to this place & we were very happy with the service as we got seated straight away even without pre-booking. Drink orders & menus were received promptly by a lovely server. Had a takeaway last night my meal was fine but my wife's king prawn saag had over cooked hard prawns in it and this morning she was sick !

Food was in front of us in less than 10 mins. Fresh?? Of course not. Lamb was cubed & fatty. My curry tasted exactly like my friend’s, quite nice but not authentic. Hers was supposed to be a specialty, mine a traditional dish. Was told by a staff member that’s how their dishes are there? Shame as was very nice last time I went, but was a long time ago

El propietario era muy amable y servicial. La comida llegó rápido y era fantástico No podría haber disfrutado más. El pollo fue el mejor que he probado. Toda la experiencia fue de 10 / 10 y sin duda recomendaría.

Went on Saturday evening for a birthday meal for my son, there were 14 of us. Everything was fantastic. Service was perfect and all of the food was absolutely lovely. Was very busy too so there was a nice atmosphere. Dropped a cake and balloon off earlier in the day too and this as all sled with perfectly. Thank you!

Been tonight, madras had no spice and masala very salty, starters, keema naan , rice very nice . Sat quietly waiting to politely let them know Currys were not ok , we left half of both. Waiter very rude, asked us what he wanted him to do about it and should of said said sooner. We were waiting for someone to approach us. Then aggressively offered my husband out to the kitchen. Very up setting . Would not recommend

We’ve been coming here as a family for over 20 years, and can never fault the food and service here, so polite and courteous, very generous portion sizes, cannot recommend this place enough. Abi is a true gentleman and always makes us so welcome. The Voce family.

Family of four who visited for the first time on Christmas Day. Fantastic food, very attentive staff who couldn't do enough for us. It's the first time we've been out for dinner on Christmas dinner and just fancied something different like going for an Indian, really pleased we did and would recommend.

Una joya absoluta de un restaurante en Mapperley. No quiero hablar mal de otros cercanos, así que no los nombraré, pero nos ha decepcionado uno de los restaurantes indios cerca de este. Bonita bienvenida y un amplio menú. Toda la comida está recién preparada con ingredientes frescos (¡espiamos en la cocina al salir!) y vimos una montaña de cebollas y verduras siendo preparadas a mano. La comida es absolutamente deliciosa y las porciones son muy generosas. Tan sabroso y muy bien presentado. El frente de la casa del hombre que creo que es uno de los propietarios es un hombre tan encantador y nada es demasiado problema. Acabábamos de volver de unas vacaciones de dos semanas, así que nos apetecía algo de comida excelente y no nos decepcionó. No veo el sentido de viajar a la ciudad cuando un restaurante de esta calidad está en la puerta. Bien hecho Bombay, sigues siendo el mejor incluso después de todos estos años en el negocio.

Top notch authentic Indian cuisine. Our table of 11 were all happy from start to finish. Our food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was so relaxed . Not the first time I’ve been and it most definitely won’t be the last!

We've eaten in the restaurant a few times and always had a good experience - good food, atmosphere and service. A group of us had a takeaway last night and all 6 of us found every dish fantastic. We were given complimentary poppadoms and pickles and were offered a discount which was great customer service. All the staff I encountered were so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Bombay and will definitely return.

That was the worst take away from Bombay brassiere, the rice was horrible and tasted stale, there was cheese over the starter and shouldn’t be . And one of the curries was really over powering with heat and no taste it looked like mashed potato consistency with a big whole green chilli dumped it the onion Bhaji was very greasy . I will never go there again . It’s expensive, but you expect the quality and it usually is good but tonight it was awful half of the whole meal £53 thrown in the bin .

Gorgeous food, as always. Had a lovely mixed grill with a salad garnish for a lighter touch on a hot day. The onion bhaji was the best I've ever had, a ball of onion loveliness, light and loose, with a subtle back flavour of spice. Keema nan was lovely. All arrived hot and very early.

Food is one of the best in Nottingham. They have opened since 1999 and have held their own shoulders. Amazing staff, great food, great service. It's too perfect. I highly recommend this.

The food has to be the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Chicken Madras, chicken korma and keema Nan bread was just delicious and freshly made. Very generous portions as well. The waiter was very polite and friendly. We will definitely return the next time we are in Mapperley Nottingham! 🥰😋👏👏👏

Was allowed in at 10pm and was very quickly told that 11pm was the closing time. After the 5 of us had ordered, food was served within 5 minutes and was nuclear hot, no doubt from it being micro-waved to oblivion. Food was poor. I had the Bombay special, a dish I have had before at this restaurant and had previously enjoyed. Atmosphere was not very welcoming with manager constantly looking over at us and looking at the clock. This was not a pleasant dining experience. It felt rushed and the staff, especially the manager, were unfriendly. Have eaten here in the past on several occasions admittedly not for a few years. But I suspect that there may have been a change of ownership.

it still hasn't arrived. we know the delivery has been out for an hour and still no sign. appalling communication with the restaurant who did not contact the driver for us and would only tell us that the food was out for delivery after we rang them twice.

Ate in on Easter bank holiday, everything was perfect as usual. You can always rely on Bombay for an amazing meal with fantastic service. We had a garlic and peshwari naan, and they were the best naans we have ever had. Would recommend Bombay to anyone!

Very disappointing evening meal here. Chairs are cheap and uncomfortable and the lighting is very drab. Toilets were clean-ish but there was hardly any toilet roll and it was a busy evening so you think staff would have topped up the rolls. Dying flowers were plonked in between sinks and the hand soap was the cheap kind that makes your hands itch. Food was bland, no coriander leaves to add a splash of colour or presentational flourish. Chicken pieces were hard and overcooked and sauce was like tomato soup … absolutely no subtle flavour. Naan bread was good. I had tonic water which was tepid and flat… like the bottle was opened hours before. The floating coffee was truly dreadful….really bitter and I think they had used cream out of a can… absolutely awful…. I had not been here in years and I will not be going back either. Extremely disappointing in every aspect.

We wanted to have a really nice dinner and we did! We didn't book ahead, but they were able to accommodate us. The meals were very well done and tasted really great. I particularly loved that we were advised to share just a bowl of rice because when it came out, I was glad we listened 😂. The rice was more than enough, and so was the naan. We'll definitely visit again

All i can say is wow! From service to atmosphere to food honestly i would give this place 10 stars if i could! Abid is so polite and attentive and made me and my partner feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, even given a free drink while sat chatting after our meal didnt feel rushed to leave in the slightest so much to commend even before getting on to the food! By far the best food we have eaten in a long time literally cooked to perfection, so fresh and not greasy at all! If curry is your thing and you havent visited Bombay you havent lived yet. Im not one for reviews but if anywhere deserves the praise this place does! Thankyou Abid for a great experience and also great service from our waitress too!

Outstanding service and amazing delicious food. What more could you want?

Fantastic food which always arrives lovely and hot. However, think twice about placing orders on a Saturday night. This is the second time I've had to wait over 2 hours for food to arrive. I even ordered really early at 5.30pm. After two phone calls half an hour apart I was told food was on its way, it's now nearly 8pm. Not even a compensatory poppadoms! Such a shame to leave customers in the lurch like this. I shan't order on Saturdays again.

Had a meal here for my Granddaughter 21st birthday my wife had made her a cake which the proprietor had no problems with plus he gave her a bottle of Prosecco which I thought was a very nice gesture will be going back

Awful service, ordered from them loads of times. Said they tried to ring me 3 times, no miss calls at all. Said it was my word against there's but surely they can check call logs! Horrible customer service.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Booked a night there tonight NYE...for my boss who has cerebral palsy .. to be turned away saying it wasn't booked.. totally unhelpful, put the phone down on me when i first rang . very rude. Totally unsympathetic, and lied! Absolutely disgusted with them.

Tops marks for toilets on ground floor with people who have disabilities essential. The vibe in restaurant was lovely. When my friend and I were seated we felt cold but lovely waiter reseated us. The food we ate was very tasty and we didn't wait too long. The service was great we enjoyed our celebration meal out. Thanks God bless.

Food was amazing as usual. Delivery was late called to chase some issue with drivers was told it was on its way. Driver didnt call when they arrived as requested due to us being in flats so I only found him when I went downstairs to the lobby.

Fantastic food and the service is excellent. I have been to a few Indian restaurants in the past but this is the best. The food is out of this world.

We have eaten here with friends on a previous occasion and we were really impressed with the food, the service and the friendliness of the owner. So we made a booking for a graduation dinner for 9 people. The owner suggested meals to us, offered to adjust the spicy ingredients if we wished and to keep the dishes containing nuts completely separate. We all ordered different meals as well as rice, parathas and naan bread and all of the food was delicious. The owner could not have been more helpful, even offering to send out for pineapple juice for the youngest member of our party. We brought a celebration cake with us and this was served with candles, plates and forks. All in all, the restaurant made our special occasion extra special - thank you.

My wife and I visited Bombay Brasserie for the first time for our anniversary and I was extremely impressed with the service and food. I would say that this was by far the best Indian meal I've ever had. It was absolutely delicious. The drinks arrived within the first few minutes and when we ordered the food arrived very quickly aswell. All of the staff were very friendly and the owner was charming even seeing us to the door. I thought it was also very reasonable. We will definitely be going back and taking our friends!!

Recently got takeout. Pathia and Keema Naan were good with a decent spice level, however Paneer Tikka was below average Service wise, it took a while to arrive (according to the app they use their own drivers so can't blame the app) so I had to nuke it in the microwave to warm it up to be edible. They also forgot poppadoms which is pretty annoying when you pay for them Certainly a decent meal overall but with the downsides mentioned, as well as this being on the more expensive side with other options around I doubt I'll be going back

The puri bread was very doughy undercooked. The rogan josh had not enough garlic in and the sauce was very thick. However the naan, pilau rice and poppadoms where very fresh and nice.

Food here is amazing!! Everything was perfect and there was lots left over, we even brought our left overs home and ate them the next day.

Fantastic food delivered hot, what i’d imagine is a sort of Riata dip wasn’t the best though, not much flavour and a slightly off taste but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the meal at all. Just an honest pointer!
