Really sad that the bombay brew has closed, always liked eating there, hopefully will find a new venue, again Really sad

Food was poor and expensive to be honest which was a shame as I had heard good things about it, I wouldn’t bother trying again there are much better places in Rochdale. Not only that a member of staff asked if we had booked and when we said we hadn’t we were just calling in by the off chance she was very grumpy and said there wasn’t room - when it quite clearly was dead at 8pm on a Saturday night, so I pointed this out and she looked very annoyed, flounced off and then told us to follow her to a horrible little table. There were empty tables the whole time we were there until we left. I think she thought she was doing us a favour, and not us doing her one by paying towards her wages for the night. Nope not for me!

Our second visit and we were still wowed by the food. The small plates were varied and beautifully presented. Good choice of real ales, ciders and other drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will be back again soon.

Great food, great craft beer. Don't think there's a better bar in Rochdale

A beautiful building with a great selection of beers and some of the best, if not the best Indian food I've ever eaten. If this place was in any other town then there would be a waiting list to eat there.

One of the best curry I had in the UK, never had a good curry in London but luckily I found it here. I did not had any expectations of having very good Indian food like this that too in Rochdale and that too next level. Highly recommend. Will visit again for sure whenever I come back to Rochdale, Manchester or leeds. Just a suggestion If you are serving Indian food, If you can give sliced onions it would be great, But it's the chef's choice at last. Service could be improved a bit just a bit slow and staff could be more interactive to guests.

Quite possibly the worse restaurant in Rochdale. The bar man was immediately judgmental about my casual dress and sat me in the bar while offering singles and couple table seats in the main restaurant. The food option was very limited and uninspired while charging top level prices for simple items including ‘burgers’ in an Indian restaurant!!!! As a business professional who eat out 80% of the year I can attest that this is was the most over rated under performed, over priced eatery I have been in for years. I would not recommend this for food however they pay good British dance tunes over the speakers, adding to that ‘authentic’ Indian restaurant mood. ;)

Great Staff and Service but the food didn't live up to as described in the menu. The starter was the bombay bravas which were fine but very very mild and could do with a lil heat. Ordered the Achari which was meant to be spicy but it was sickly sweet instead and lacked spice. So sweet it overpowered the whole dish so just had to pick out the chicken and eat separately. Very disappointed.

Really bad experience Have been before and it was nice but this time the food was really poor We went on a business meal for 11, the poppadoms were greasy and oily The starters were ok The problem was the main meals The meals came at different times and the butter chicken came first and was cold so was sent back and obviously put in a microwave to reheat as they weren’t nice Three of our party had the staff keema curry again luke warm and really bland and tasteless we eat very little, the meatball saag again tasteless and lukewarm and no resemblance to a saag The rice and chips came about five minutes after the main meals and then the naans came later again. One member of our party got his burger after all the other meals which was ok This is a real shame and it all points to a lack of any organisation in the kitchen and if they can’t cope with 11 party there is no hope for them We have been here before and it was fine but on this occasion the was terrible The girls who served us were really nice and have got a feeling they know there is a problem and were trying their best A REAL SHAME WE WONT BE GOING BACK IT TAKES A LOT TO GET A GRIP REPUTATION BUT VERY LITTLE TO LOSE IT

Brilliant place. Ate here twice and both times did lovely, service great and atmosphere lovely. Very different to a regular Indian.

Lovely place the only disappointment was the food, 3 of us ordered the kebab it came the kebab had loads of salad but very little meat left still feeling hungry 😕

Had a fantastic meal, best curry and bhaji's I've had in a long time

Was in Rochdale for work so ate alone, staff were friendly and helpful, menu looked amazing. I choose the Staff Curry and Garlic Naan, both were well presented and very tasty. Beer was good and under £3 a pint I was quite astonished as in normally pay well over £5. Overall a very pleasant experience even considering I was eating alone. I will be back if I stay in Rochdale again!

At Whitworth Rushcart - the meat was burnt. Bought 3 chicken and donner shawmas which cost £21!!! It was disgusting. Spoke to the server who said sorry you just got the rubbish burnt bits at the bottom. If you know it's burnt don't serve it!! He offered to replace but was put off. Such a shame cos usually you are fab!

Not nice at all was looking forward to finally trying a chicken swarma at wjiteorth rushcart paid £7 to pretty much vomit absolutely disgusting no flavour other than the bottom of a charcoal bag. Still have a nasty tatse in my mouth now Will not be having this again ever very disappointed

Been here a few times and the food and drinks have been outstanding. But this time we went to bombay brew for bottomless brunch over Bank Holiday weekend and it was amazing. The food was gorgeous and the drinks were fantastic, the staff made sure we was well looked after. I definitely would recommend the bottomless brunch when they do one again.

One of the best currys I've ever had. A hidden gem in Rochdale and the wider Manchester area. There's things on the menu that you wouldn't find in a lot of places with unique twists on common Indian street food. Portions are a very good and very reasonably priced (£90 between 4 of us). One to try if you are a fan of proper Indian food.

Wasn't blown away by the food, went for the Bombay BBQ special, so expected a nice mixture of grilled foods but a lot of it was fried. Nice flavours and good service so would go back to try something different.

Awful. Avoid. Rice wasn’t cooked. Chapattis were obviously microwaved so rock hard and inedible. Tried to complain to the Bored looking 20 year old ‘manageress on duty’ In getting no response I gave a wry smile and was asked‘what’s so funny’ Literally the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Rochdale is full of wonderful Indian restaurants. This isn’t of one of them

Our 2nd visit here and again the food was amazing. A real gem.

Being new to the area we’ve tried this place twice now and I like the concept but it just falls short in a few areas. Naan bread is tough and chewy, overcooked chicken (twice) and the madras curry just lacked any depth of flavour. Such a shame but twice is all it gets

Loved the decor, the staff are so lovely, cocktails are delicious and a reasonable price. The food was so delicious we had a sharing platter & potatoes and would recommend . Rum & pineapple sauce was yum. I can't wait to return. Xxx

Staff are friendly, beer is great and the venue is a winner but the food isn't up to much unfortunately.

Had a lovely lunch out with family (teens, parents, grandparents). Accidentally coincided with an unexpected group of football fans for Rochdale v Bradford (all well-behaved). The group was as unexpected to the staff as it was for us and they found themselves short-handed. Our hostess, Emma took the lead at front of house and juggled with a very busy bar as well as Saturday Lunch meals for us and other tables. She was busy and overworked but coped fantastically. The chef pitched in and served us our food which was fantastic and enjoyed by all. The samosa smash was still our collective favourite. A lovely meal out which could have been spoiled by unexpected high volume at the bar but which was saved by excellent service, effort and teamwork. As ever, would recommend.

Interesting Offering in Rochdale. Visited Bombay Brew last week and was very much impressed with the dishes on offer and quality of produce. The 'Staff Curry' was particularly flavoursome. The only reason I have not given a 5 is for the below reasons: Food didn't travel particularly well - lots of leakages. The Fish Tikka was somewhat a peculiar flavour (a little watery) Some items of the menu in terms of price I feel are a little 'heavy' - Peshwari Nan for £4.50 - that's city centre prices. However, I will definitely visit again and eat in the restaurant.

Came for stagg/Hen meal 17 of us and had a fantastic meal and drink before moving on. A big thank you to the bar girls and the chefs too for managing such a big party .would and will highly recommend.

Really disappointed the food had no flavour was so bland the curry tasted like it was out of a jar was really looking forward to trying the food it is defiantly not Indian inspired street food the other lace is lovely the staff are lovely but tue food really is shocking the lamb shank curry was a piece of lamb with no Tate in a bowl with dried up potatoes and a sauce it was awful

Why have a chocolate beer on in an Indian??

Thought it was going to be amazing .. It was nice but nothing special.. I found there wasn't enough sauce in the curry and if you want more it's £4.50 .. The small plates are good and the chips are amazing!! Been to better takeaways tbh .. Lots of vegan options which is great 👍

The restaurant has a superb interior decor - that's the first impression. The pub side is very comfy and cosy. In light of this, here comes the food. Delicious, comforting flavoursome, tangy, sweet, Umami, tender...and a great naan too. I did not expect to be that impressed, but I am. Staff is friendly and helpfu tool. What's not to like? I'll definitely go back.

Been 3 times now, always had a good experience, tasty food, beer and excellent service, on the most recent visit there were a couple of issues due to a new menu being introduced, one of which was the bill being incorrect, the staff, apologised and dealt with the issue quickly and efficiently so all good.

Great food, loads of decent beers also. Service is usually pretty good too.

Third visit, last one was for my birthday and this one before watching Top Gun at Reel cinema. Great unique food and a nice change to the usual cut and paste Indian Menus. Service was good, although please ask if we wanted more drinks, food is really nice and good value, would also like to see some new dishes and specials please.

It was a works Christmas doo don't know what they paid curry was ok a bit sweet not another spice could have done with some onion barji or something aswelll

Enjoyed the ambience, a change from so many other restaurants. Good food, varied drinks menu.

Service was amazing- but the food was a massive let down, way below what i expected. Frozen fried chicken "steaks" topped off with batch curry sauce. You're having a laugh here surely? The service and the place itself is great, staff are really attentive and the ambience is perfect. The food!? Let it down big time. Great ideas knocked down with cheap frozen chicken. It doesnt cost much more to properly store, prep and cook fresh chicken. It's just laziness, plain and simple. Whoever advised you to dunk frozen breaded chicken and douse it in bulked out packet sauces obviously hates decent food. Mango chicken pow was tasty and actually contained more chicken than my butter chicken main. Come on now. This was my first time eating here and it is definitely my last. No one goes out for food you can cook twice as tasty at home for half the price.

Been for a works do, 16 of us. We were served with drinks very quickly, seated and provided with an array of food which was lovely. Slight mishap with spilt food however handled very well. Thanks for the lovely meal. ( Oldham Vending )

Read some not so nice reviews..Went on Sunday thr 6th November. Let me tell you its very quirky on entering. Lovely lady took us to our table. Brought us a pint of Cobra. This was the second time we've been to Bombay Brew and it is still an amazing place. The food is delicious, the staff are super friendly and the atmosphere of the place is really chill and friendly. If you want a decent curry in Rochdale Town centre this is the place to go.

It's basically a pub with good decor and cheerful staff. Food is not 'Indian' by any strech of the imagination, certainly not Bombay street food. OK to visit for a drink and hangout but wouldn't go there expecting authentic Indian food.

Quite possibly the Carlsburg of worst restaurants. Save your money, go to tesco. The worst takeaway we have ever had.

Visited for lunch as they had a good vegan menu - nice decor, friendly staff, but food disappointing. The rice tasted like it was made from a microwave packet, strange soggy onion bhaji and the waitress forgot part of our food order (we were the only customers there). The food filled us up, we were hungry, just not authentic Indian street food. Bit shocked too as one of the staff was burping loudly by the bar, which we heard from our table - luckily after we'd just finished our food! When we mentioned it the waitress just commented, "It's all the beer..." Could be a lovely place, but staff need to pay bit more attention to the fact they're at work, rather than feeling so at home they seem to not care.

A fantastic meal for a very special reunion of five school friends. We shared quite a few of the small plates and some of the curries - each one was excellent! Match the food to some really good beers and you have a really good restaurant. The service matched the quality of the food and we were given some excellent advice regarding the various dishes that were available. We all had a great evening and look forward to visiting this lovely restaurant again soon!

Real Gem in central Rochdale. I've been twice and I can't rate it highly enough. Decor is fabulous and quirky with a great feel Love the sharing plates so you can miss and match the delicious and tasty food. Pineapple cider by Lilley's so good I bought some online Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and great service. Even the toilets are 5 star. Looking forward to my works Christmas meal here. Thanks

Amazing food, friendly staff, great experience

Firstly I’d like to say that the service was fantastic, however the food overall was below par. They also unfortunately didn’t have half the items that we wanted to order food and drinks both. The food lacked flavour, and seasoning. The portion sizes for the price were also a little disappointing. I’d heard good things about this restaurant but it definitely didn’t live up to the hype. Hopefully it was a just a off day for them, and others have a better experience.

Amazing food, with sharing plates. Great cocktails with deals for early dining. If like street food and Indian style cooking this is the one for you.

Loved the setup here. Very pub/cocktail bar like when you first walk in. It is a nice place for a drink. The menu is very good also, I liked the small plates (tapas) idea. Makes it easy to try new dishes and have a greater selection than just one dish.
