Bob & Berts Kirkcaldy in Fife

The staff was lovely but the manager was rude and horrible to her staff speaking to them like rubbish wasn’t a nice environment for anyone Food was also really nice

It’s a shame that the business started with expectations of providing great customer service, the branch in Kirkcaldy seems to have missed the memo. Please provide the staff more training everyone wants these businesses to be a success.

It looks strange inside with flake board on walls cheaply done. We ordered two lattes and the chap took our order then proceeding to clean up for closing in the next hour. We sat there bewildered as he continued to clean as he forgot our lattes and had to be reminded. Before this my wife asked for the table to be cleaned we sat down and he sprayed anti bacterial spat over table getting me wife’s legs covered in the stuff. In the bed the Lattes that arrived were average anyway. Won’t be back.

Hit and miss with service today. Got our panini’s first, finished our food, 5 minutes after got our cooler drinks. Shouldn’t it be the other way around, but waited 10 minutes after complaining. Last time I came here was from breakfast, and I had no issues.

Nipped in here for a coffee with a friend and it was incredibly busy. We were served very quickly despite the huge queue and the place was very spacious and clean. It took a while for the coffees to be brought to our table which is understandable given how busy it was. The decor is bright and modern and there are loads of tables, with room for prams and high chairs. The only negative point was the staff’s attitudes- there didn’t seem to be enough people working so they came across as harried and bordering on rude. I was brought the wrong coffee and the girl was obviously not happy when I pointed it out. She snatched it out of my hand, stormed back to the serving area before returning with the correct order, then walked off without saying a word

The food was lovely but sadly the service wasn't. The staff at the counter were quite grumpy. They took my order then told me they didn't have what I ordered. The staff then seemed to be having a disagreement amongst themselves! They then reimbursed the cost of my order onto my card and told me it would take several days to go back into my account. When our food did eventually arrive it was quite nice thankfully.

Would very much not recommend the staff are given clear instructions on receipt and still can’t follow it , asked for bbq sauce on pulled pork i got a lump of meat with no sauce and lucky if there was 10 fries I payed £10.95 for it to get not even £5 worth of food

I have a tea here some mornings before work (occasionally go down for lunch as well) and I can’t speak on behalf of others’ experiences but I personally think the reviews don’t do this place justice. Wonderful staff, great food and drinks and a lovely atmosphere 💜 I have never had a negative experience here and would highly recommend

Was told there was an offer of soup and toastie for £7.95 so I decided to go for this offer. What a waste of money as I barely ate any of it and staff never asked why. I'm sure the tomato soup was tinned chopped tomatoes, heated up and 5 croutons put on top with a blob of cream to make it look good. The toastie was supposed to be cheese and ham (I asked for cheese and onion) but it was cheese and bacon. It made no odds as it was so soggy I couldn't bite into it. I ripped a bit off to taste it but, because it was soggy it was chewy. The time before I visited I got a muffin which was frozen inside. In future I'll stick to a drink only if I go in as the food I tried was not good and I feel I wasted money.

Lovely baked potato good the way sauce butter and jam are at the counter free of charge and don’t bother staff or wait in queue for more. Lattee was nice and hot. Daughter had toastie it was made to order which was good

The small pot the milk came in on the side of the coffee had a layer of mould on the inside. Obviously not washed out properly. Replacement or refund for coffee was offered when I pointed this out to staff. Although the caramel shortbread packet had a space for a best before date it was blank so no idea how fresh the prepackaged food is. I wasn't told I'd be charged an extra 50p for oat milk in my small coffee. First visit and won't be back.

I was in this cafe yesterday with a friend for late breakfast. I ordered the bacon, poached eggs and toast, my friend had one of the fry ups from the menu. The food looked good and was presented nice. However, on the menu she should have got black pudding with her fry up, what she got looked more like haggis than black pudding. While my poached eggs were cooked well enough, all I tasted was the vinegar from the water they were cooked in. Also I had 4 pieces of toast, but only given 2 small, soft and runny pats of butter. Yesterday was my first visit to this cafe but I think it will be my last, not a good first impression

Rude - Abrasive staff who think they are doing you a favour by actually serving you - Slow service, having used the place regularly, you get used to the extra long wait, however as a customer and providers of a service! They don't actually provide a very good customer service. Their loss as i will take my custom to another of the very good cafe's restaurants in the area.

Visited today and was stood in a queue of 9 people with 1 member of staff serving .watched 3 members of staff clearing a tray of clean cups and saucers (which was all on 1 tray,so was no need for 3 of them to be doing this job) stood for 10mins in 2nd place in the queue and god knows what was holding the server up but after standing so long and not even being acknowledged to say sorry bout the wait by ANY of the 4 members of staff who all could see the queue was getting longer while they were busy doing nothing. Ended up walking out and so did few others from the queue as god only knows how long it would have been til we all got served finally. Wanted to post this as we are regular customers and feel this issue of lazy ignorant staff needs addressed 💯👍🏻

Popped in for a late lunch, after some shopping in Kirkcaldy. It was busy, but not too hectic, as it was later in the afternoon. There was a wide variety of food on the menu and we ended up ordered burgers. The food was really tasty and kept us going for the rest of the day. We've tried the Bob & Berts in Dunfermline and this was just as good! Definitely be back the next time we are in Kirkcaldy. Thanks again.

We chose to come in randomly. Space for a pram with baby changing facilities. Comfy sofas. Great food, varied menu. Fast service and good prices. The buffalo sauce was very spicy. Will definitely come back

Four family members had lunch here and it was such a lovely experience. Food was good and reasonably priced, service was professional and fast, and the place was clean and well organised, so just a thoroughly excellent meal. We would definitely recommend this place and would certainly eat here again if we were ever in town.

Came along to Bob and Bert’s for brunch ordered 2 bobs famous fry and 2 caramel hot chocolates and could not fault at all! Within ordering and come back to sit down for a minute the food was served and it was delicious! Eggs cooked to perfection, bacon was crispy, French toast with maple syrup. honestly stuffed. The staff were amazing and checked on us throughout fast service.

Great layout. Large yet quirky. Friendly staff. French toast and flat white were first class. Recommend this place. Worth a visit for breakfast/lunch any day of the week.

Poor old Kirkcaldy High Street is looking very sorry for itself: Bob & Berts is just what’s needed to cheer it up. A big friendly space serving a wide variety of good food. Wish it was open in the evenings!
