Dom's Chip Shop in Fife

Been going there for years but since dom isn’t there not so good what have they done to the batter not crispy like it used to be more chewy than crispy

Went here and had diliveries a few years ago and it was always awful. Tried it again today and the food was way better. Me and the little one really enjoyed it and will defo go back.

I'm giving it a 2 because I do think their Doner meat is nice. I'm also giving it a 2 because of how my refund was processed and the point that they ignored my request for a non battered sausage on the kids meal. Missed my battered sausage all together. Ordered many times but this time they did mess up but was not kind enough to do a full refund only part via food hub. To many people trying to make 1 order, mistakes will happen if you lean over each other and don't pay attention. Work smart not hard. Also avoid the fish if you don't like bones. I actually stopped buying their fish because 2 bites gave me a mouthful of bones on 2 occasions. Manager looks like she needs a brake, and judging by how busy the place is she should and could just take one and refocus on the important things like customer service and quality food.. loads of staff. Just rushing to look busy for no reason. Huge disappointment. Sadly I won't be back, my family was on the toilet all night and the next day from it.

Messaged the fb page instead and they accused me of putting the lettuce on myself!! When I left a review on their Facebook page the review was deleted! Food was absolutely shocking and customer service just as bad. Don’t waste your money

Very poor food presentation bought a hoggie wrap thats not even wrapped and stuck more to the paper than anything else have took photos if they want to see what I have just been delivered shocking

Agree with most, since new ownership this once loved chip shop as turned to ruin. Used to be my weekly treat, that was when Dom ran it. Then 2 months ago I was really disappointed with the staff and meal so I made the decision to go elsewhere. I now use Danniis chip shop and its well worth the 2 minute drive from the house. Highly recommend them! Tonight after a 13 hour shift I thought I'd try Doms for quickness as I live a short walk away. Phoned an order in and went to collect when they said it would be ready. Yes it was ready but what they don't tell you is when you get there's a sign saying Cash Only! (screams dodgy!!) I should have just walked away and not returned but instead I went and got cash. They don't use boxes like Dom did so the food gets squashed in to a bag, squashed food that sticks to the paper. Walked 2 minutes to the house, sat down to cold chips! I'm literally a 2 minute walk away, (god forbid anyone to get a delivery if you live more than 10 seconds away). Fish was tasteless and the small amount of chips I got where cold with a weird taste. Thought I'd give mine to the dog, but he looked at it, sniffed it and turned his nose up. Says it all. In future I'll go back to Danniis or go to bed on an empty stomach. New owners need to go and the next owners need to bring our local chippy back. Reluctant to give one circle! TripAdvisor should give us zero circles because I'd use it here.

Two hour wait for a cold battered pizza supper not impressed at all.

Very busy shop, which is cash only. Got served quickly even at dinner time on a Sunday. Using boxes for the food, would be a big improvement instead of wrapping it in paper.

Good food and friendly staff, a happy staff is an important part of any business, always treat the staff with respect and the rewards will be apparent :)

Tasty fish and chips fresh fried fish.

Doms was by far the worst take-away I've experienced. The batter on my child's meal was so crispy that it was sharp, their chilli sauce was actually saturated with chilli seeds and the chips, the only way I can describe the chips is hollow. Their so crispy and dry that there's no real potato inside them anymore. The only positive from ordering here tonight was a fast delivery, so kudos to your drivers. I'd give 0 stars if I could

No delivery after an hour and called for update. We were then told it would take another 45 minutes and wasn't even cooked yet. Gone downhill massively since takeover. Won't be using them again!

Obviously different staff (substantiated by other reviews) with EIGHT individuals serving behind the counter and no customers when I arrived .... and after nearly fifteen minutes pitched up with one, of my order of two suppers!!! Unfortunately, the other supper that was ordered had not been cooked, so another ten minutes before the order of two items were ready. "No one's fault"!!!! Once home, we discovered much of the same as other reviews in here..... Poor quality and the chips were grim (to be kind).... NEVER again.

I have never left a review about anything ever because normally I can't be bothered. But I had to after I ordered a Dom's tonight. The chicken pakora was over cooked and hard. Oh and there was a hair in there too. The garlic bread with cheese was so burnt I couldn't eat it. I can't believe they sent it out like that. I called Dom's to give the feedback and I was passed on to the boss. She was dismissive and said the garlic bread was supposed to be like that. Is it aye!? Was the hair meant to be there too?

First time for a while that I've been here. Chips were excellent, Scampi supper was decent. Smoked sausage, I've had better.

We returned to Dom's after it changed hands and the first 2 fish suppers were very tasty. Tonight the batter was uncooked and the fish tasteless. Really disappointed that the level of quality has dropped so soon. Not worth the money as most of it went in the bin.

15 year old son has been a regular for a while, since new owners prices through the roof, sent a small portion of Donner meat which contained a whole 4 slices 😳 and was cold, not interested in helping what so ever, new owners are a disgrace

Had our regular order of fish and chips, pudding suppers for our family, unfortunately the fish was tasteless, white pudding was fine. They are now selling half price kebab's and hoggy wraps, we visited near closing time and the kebab had been cut and stored in the hot metal container's- no way would they have used it all for that evening and I'm sure would be stored for the next day. We will not be back and will go elsewhere for a quality fish and chips.

Ordered frozen at sea fish suppers, received ordinary fish suppers in which the fish were almost a third the size of the actual batter, both dinners not finished. Not the same place as it used to be

Tried Doms after hearing it has new ownership and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had a fish supper and the portion was huge. 2 large pieces of fish and enough chips to do 2 people. The fish was cripsy and an all round nice taste. Well worth the money.

First time I have been in for over a year I was a bit surprised to see it had been taken over. I ordered steak pie supper. Couldn't fault it, it was cooked properly and tasty not greasy. A little bit more chips would have been nice, it was quite a small portion for a supper. Overall I would go back.

Phoned my order in was told 10 minutes and it would be ready ! I arrived 10 minutes later to find that they couldn't find my order so had to order again 3 times they asked if I wanted chilli sauce and salad with my kabab then no one seemed to know how much too charge ! Was so hungry and looking forward to my dinner positive there was plenty of doner meat but I think they forgot to put the chilli sauce on I didn't find it !! and as for the salad !!!! Well if you like chunks of cabbage and that's all for your salad really a salad witch only consists of chunks of cabbage !!!!! And the pitta bread was lost it was so small I had to dissect everything to find it and it was microwaved so half of the tiny thing you got you couldn't eat !!!!!!!! Please avoid if you are hungry or like to enjoy what you eat !!!!

Great place to dine if you have no taste buds. The best way I can compare the fish is the scrapings out of the bottom of a can of felix cat food. Farm foods fish finger are a better quality. The kebab they had the cheek to charge £6.60 for a large kebab and chip and they microwaved it and just dumped it on top of the chips so it was a grease soup. If I fed it to the dog the RSPCA would take it of me. So in a nut shell don’t waste your money here there’s a Chinese next door so go there and get some salt and peppered cat it’d taste better than that which they serve as ‘food’

As a visitor to the area and looking to hVe a Haggis Supper, We visite "Doms fish and Chips""and enjoyed the Haggis experience tremendously. Would certainly recommend and next time we are in the Area, a return visit it is.

Just ordered a takeaway on the phone. Had to wait as nothing was ready. Fish was good as usual but chips were terrible, reheated and greasy. Also got fritters which were potato free and so hard they were inedible. Lucky to get one star. Won't return soon.

bought food yesterday I can honestly say it was awful ,the chips were hard ,and the fish had no taste and was greasy and soft pie was sodden with grease wont be back money down the drain

Really disappointed! Phoned order in, but still had to wait while they cooked it. Got home to find that all 4 pieces of fish were soggy! Will never go back there, waste of 11 hard earned quid!

Witness a member of staff cough into the hand then continue to handle food, cash etc. Ridiculous especially during a pandemic.

Food is good but delivery times are ridiculous I waited two hours for food to arrive.

I only gave this one star because I couldn't give it zero. Ordered through Just Eat for collection, arrived 15 minutes early and told the staff I was there, waited until my order time and then watched as other people, who put their order in while I was waiting, got served. 15 minutes after my order time I went to the door and the wee nyaff behind the counter got stroppy and tried to blame me, no apology and even swore at me - will not be back

Order via just eat. Delivery was 50 mins late. Called shop to be told it had left 10 mins ago....Waited another 20 mins before it eventually arrived. Delivery guy couldn’t find the address even tho there was clear instructions on how to find the house. He admitted he hadn’t read it. Didn’t think to fone for directions either. Chips were cold, soggy & greasy. Will definitely go elsewhere in future.

The food was cooked to order, therefore it was hot. The batter is delicious, the fish divine and the chips taste about as good as you will get anywhere, unless fried in dripping.

This has been the chip shop we always used, however after tonight I will not be returning. Meal quality was awful. chips hard and uncooked, chicken not battered and dry. Not to mention the overall order being wrong. Delivery was longer than time given but it was Friday night, so sometimes to be expected. Phoned to express my feelings on this and was met with a woman who insisted she delivered this meal, whether she did or didn’t it was irrelevant the meal was bad. I wouldn’t waste my time calling if it was satisfactory. She said very little on the phone and then said the phone was breaking up. No solution was given for this and I said I wouldn’t return to which she said, that’s fine. Absolutely no care for customers and an outrageous attitude given. Will not return, complete waste of money so i now have to order elsewhere for my dinner.

Just had takeaway from Doms and whilst the food is great the service is deplorable. Servers appear to engage with each other rather than the customer. Got my order wrong twice and eventually left with half of what I had ordered. Time the owner had words with his staff. Sooner rather than later.

Ordered the frozen at sea haddock, so would expect a nice tasty piece of fresh fish. Unfortunately not, fish was not bright white as fresh fish is meant to be and the batter was greasy. Chips weren't too bad but a bit dry. I can get a large cod and chips at my dads in durham for £6.20 and it's like it was just caught an hour ago. So disappointed.

Worst donor meat I've ever had, I eat out alot and have seen some bad stuff, but never has anything compelled me to leave a review. On the brighter side pizza was ok but still abit soggy.

Fish nice chips awful, soggy and very greasy. Young girls serving seemed more interested in having a carry on with each other and playing dance music on their phones completely disinterested in customers. Wont be back!

Sorry but the fact I can't put down no stars makes me angry as this place deserves none.. I ordered a Fish n Chips and the fish smelt worse than a junkies cheesey underpants, the grease was soaking the box that contained the food in, So much so that it fell out the bottom of the box before I could make it home... Don't go here end of story 😒

Paid £5 for 2 portions of potato fritters and they were no thicker than a walkers crisp, each portion contained about 8 fritters....Utter rip off, feel like I've been robbed, this excuse for a chippy needs to close down.

Whatever has happened to the famous Dom’s? It was always the best chippie around. There was a passion for cooking and customer service was excellent. I went there for a takeaway tea and it was terrible. There was no interaction at all from Dom or the 3 assistants and certainly no smiles either. They just chatted amongst themselves. The fish had quite a lot of bones in it. The spring rolls were awful. Very poor quality. Chips were definitely last nights reheats. We had to bin the lot. When I checked my change, I realised that I’d been overcharged. It cost £12-30 for one fish supper and a spring roll supper!!! So annoying because I live 7 miles away and wasn’t going back to complain. So sad too because this chip shop (in the past) has won lots of awards. Such a let down and I will definitely not be back.

Decided to try this place for a pizza as its only up the road from us. We were met with 3 sour faced girls at the counter, i would say greetwd but their expressions and tone of voice wasnt happy or pleasant. After ordering a 12 inch spicy chicken pizza we waited 10/15 mins before it was ready. Once home we divided up the pizza between us which we had to cut up ourselves. The pizza itself was such a let down under cooked base which was doughy and soggy. The chicken was processed cubes and wasnt even spicy. After eating a slice i found a hair cooked into the cheese on the pizza so safe to say it was binned after that. Wont be rushing back here. The staff could do with a customer care course on how to greet and treat customers and actually learn how to cook proper take away food.

Don't go here. Just had a chipsteak and king rib and it was awful! The batter too thin that the kingrib was burnt. The chipsteak was tasteless and again batter too thin. Will not be back

I've used Dom's chip shop many times over the years and on a recent visit, I have to say I was very disappointed in the food. The chips were greasy and some were under-cooked. The shop itself looks great since the refurbishment and the service was pleasant. It's just a shame that the food wasn't up to par.

Always open whenever we are in the mood. Good service every time I visit.

Never used to use this place because it was not a good chippy but now it's good all orders cooked fresh so no more cold greasy fish

Have a wide selection of food available along with great staff. Short waiting times for food aswell. Worth a visit if you're near.

Always used to enjoy going to this chip shop but I wasn’t too impressed with the customer service when I phoned in for a delivery. The handler on the other end didn’t sound too enthusiastic and the overall tone was one of somebody who was either bored stiff or didn’t care too much about customer service.

Sadly, it's not going to win any chip shop award's nowadays. Was really disappointed the last time I visited and unlikely to go back if I'm honest

Clueless staff served a kebab with no lettuce, tomato or cucumber, only onion and cabbage in a mouldy pitta bread. Chips were ok though

What can I say! Great Chippy all made fresh to order. Makes a difference from some of the other chippers where you never know how long your foods been on the rack. If you don't mind waiting for your order, give Dom's Cadam a go.

A Dire experience form a former Chip Shop of the year ..

We busted this chip shop and expected good fish and chips, were we wrong! The chips were undercooked and thesis was wry greasy.

Por desgracia, esta vez galardonada chipper ya no está a la altura como tiempos pasados. Personal no tengo habilidades de servicio al cliente. Pedimos una cena de pescado y cena blanca pudding. El pescado estaba mal cocida, de tamaño pequeño y era lo mejor parte sólo puede ser descrito como togy'. También porción de patatas fritas en el cenas eran insignificantes para lo que sería de esperar. Cuando el personal desinteresado y no preparado para escuchar inquietudes. Esperaba más general.

Fish is thin and Poor , Service not much better. Expensive and just really couldn't recommend. However everyone to their own.

Sent here after football training one cold, wet night for a portion of chips. Is it normal to have to wait 10 minutes on chips? Place was half full and no one s getting served anything. Chips are ok when they came

After looking forward to my fish supper must say was the most tasteless fish I have had and the chips were not much better .I was most disappointed.

After a hard day of 2v2's with NaDe (we're 43-3 now) i decided that I should do to my local chippy. It is in a good location about a 2 minute walk from my house, very accessible (with disabled access) The prices were also good and the food was of good quality.

I have been to the Doms Chip Shop in Cadham, it offers great food for the money you pay. Great staff always kind and helpful.

Good clean shop with many awards. I did however think that the fish were so small that I am surprised that the fishermen did not throw them back.Quite dissapointing and poor value for money.
