The Little Friar in Fife

Been ordering from the Little Friar for years food is always exceptional and arrives hot!

We've ordered food from here lots of times and always liked it, but our last meal was really bad. The chips were cold, and tasted like they were warmed up again + not freshly cooked. The scampi didn't have much coating and tasted really cheap/processed.. We were regulars, but now we're not sure if we'll come back. Hope things get better!

Never had a delivery from here before, it was late, wouldn’t have bothered but it was getting late. It was a nice fish supper and arrived hot so will be ordering from here again

Took 2 hours from order time for food to arrive. No surprise it was cold when it arrived, fit for the bin.

Was good apart from most of the chips had horrible black bits on them

Mostly battered, no fish. Looked like it had been heated up from yesterday.

The food was 2hrs 30mins late. Arrived warm/cold. Tried to call for well over 30mins to cancel my order but the line was constantly busy.

2 hours delivery time. Food was also piping hot when it arrived so to me that is a p*** take!

Took 2 hours to arrive. Food was cold. After an hour and 15 minutes I phoned to ask if it would be getting delivered soon as I have a toddler to put to bed and they said “well we’re busy”

Still haven't received my order 1 hr and 40 mins later so absolutely no score

Everything was very tasty and the chicken especially seemed really fresh! Only issue was sauce caused fritters to stick to paper and ripped off the batter on a few of them, but that can’t really be helped. Definitely the best local chippy

Kids meals were very good quality and value for money

Classic chippy kind staff convenient location and didn't have to wait too long. Can also pay with card.

Have been very unwell since eating the Icelandic haddock.

Not a problem being late these things happen but not often with little frier

The chips were of very bad quality. Normally, the chips from little frier are amazing and you can't fault them but the past 2 times now they have been pretty bad. The sausage was quite nice though.

We were passing through Saint Andrew in Markinch and stopped for a take away and I must say that the fish & chips were very good, generous portions and cooked well. Very kind staff

Got a fish supper from here recently and was very dissapointed with the fish. It was dried out and very crispy as if it had been in the holding oven for too long. The chips were lovely and fresh. Have previously visited and food has always been nice but very disappointed with quality of fish on this visit.

I visited this establishment yesterday and ordered the fish and chips. I must say, it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the batter was just the right amount of crispy. The accompanying chips were also delicious and had just the right amount of seasoning. I was impressed by the overall quality of the food and the attention to detail that was put into making it. The service was also excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout my visit. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the overall ambiance was inviting and comfortable. I will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for providing such high-quality food and service to your customers.

Waited nearly two hours for our order

Always a lot of servers which is good. Most. Items on menu are good. Fish is a hit or a miss. I normally order on line then collect. Works well.

The late delivery was not an issue as food was hot and delicious would recommend you to all.nice clean none greasy and ever so fresh thankyou

Fish was really greasy and mainly battery with very little fish in it. Tasted like it was reheated. The Icelandic fish was as large as my plate yet all batter and full of grease, very little fish. The chips were awful. The food was not hot either the bottle of coke we got was flat!

Staff were lovely as always order was ready for me when I got there and food was brilliant. Thank you !

Order here all the time good is usually excellent and sometimes a wee bit late but ordered last might about 6.40pm food came just after 8.30pm that's too long to be waiting for a delivery. And the food was almost cold. so sadly this has put me off now. So won't be ordering again sadfully.

Ordered the pan fried pizza. It was if there was no topping on it tasted like fried dough. Chips were decent enough but the pizza needs more toppings.

Same old story no cheese in cheese in burger as its over cooked the batter has fallen off the chips under the fish were in a puddle of grease.. pointless complaining to be told it was fine when it left the shop or to be greeted this grunts and moans.

Food was delivered bang on time. Didn’t need heating up. The potato fritters were so tasty and the batter lovely and crispy. Will order again.

Chips were horrible, ordered a chicken BURGER and chips, gets delivered without a bun? Chicken was soggy and overall horrible, the curry sauce was also clumpy and watery, horrible chippy.

Friendly chip shop with usual chippy food. No decent options for vegetarians but good for those want traditional chip shop food.

Food was OK at best. fritters portion - the time it took for delivery had basically fused together and turned mushy. Cheese in burger seemed cheese'less. Finally all very greasy and yet fish was dry..... Yes its a chippy but u get good chippies and bad chippies, LF is mediocre @ best. Delivery driver was very friendly and nice. Used and will use LF again as u know tht u will get mediocre food. fills a hole and saves the dishes. 5/10.

Staff dont listen to word you say . Wrong order again after waiting mins on a smoke sausage supper . How hard is it to get an order right . Get served in a restaurant quicker .

I ordered to collect and was given a collection time. I arrived at designated collection time to find my order was not ready and in fact was not even cooked yet. I asked young member of staff if my order had been given to a walk in customer and she confirmed that it looked that way. I then had to wait 10/15 minutes on it being prepared. I’m sorry but I ordered well in advance and drove 20 minutes to collect it. Very disappointed with service today.

We waited an hour and a half for delivery and then part of our order was missing. Really need to get organised with deliveries or don’t do them!

When I arrived I was told they were waiting on chips however the delivery driver arrived and they decided to use the chips for his orders which resulted in an even longer wait for myself. Wasn’t impressed!

It was cold, what more can I say! I wasted my money, fryer wasted time cooking, delivery man wasted time delivering it. It was a total waste that went straight to bin.

Worst ive ever had, couldnt fault the place before but an hour and a half to get here and the chips were solid and good thing I had a hand saw to cut the fish it must of been sitting there cooked for a few days, £9.50 for a terrible meal. Really disappointed

Really poor. Everything was stuck to the ‘greaseproof’ paper, batter ripped off pizza. Undercooked, soggy white pudding. Not enjoyable at all. Shame, used to be good.
