If I could give zero I would. Dirty, crap quality food. Kids hotdog was ridiculously small - where it was 1/4 of a hot dog bun and a small hot dog for £10! Tables sticky and drinks fridge sticky too. Adult hot dog smelt funny like it was off. All in all grosse. Avoid and go to McDonald’s over the road!

Popped in for breakfast, unfortunately not looking at the the 3.8 star review. We both ordered different breakfasts that came with poached eggs. Attached is a picture of Bob & Berts take on a poached egg ! It's was horrible. On top of that, when mention to the lady behind the counter (because no one came to take our plates) she said she'd mention it to the "chef". The reaction to this was to stand on their phone in the kitchen & not give a f...k. genuinely disappointed & won't be going back. The coffee was nice though

Best thing about our lunch was that the cafe was dog friendly. The coffee was OK but only lukewarm. The soup and toasties were a massive disappointment. Only time we've ever been served soup we couldn't eat. It was meant to be tomato soup but it was so thick that it looked and tasted more like a pasta sauce. Taste wasn't impressive and it was loaded with soggy croutons. The toasted sandwich had unmelted cheese. It was floppy, spongy and almost soggy. Horrible. If you can't get soup and a sandwich correct you shouldn't be working in a kitchen

Usually pretty good but this time tables uncleared and dirty. We cleared our own table. Toilets were pretty yuk to. Food and coffee fine, staff very helpful and friendly.

One of the meals we ordered did not arrive with the others. We waited 30 minutes and then had to ask for it twice. When it came it was not very nice. Seems as if it was made then left aside forgotten until we asked.

Amazing as always. We come here regularly and it’s always been great. The staff are amazing, and so is the food and service. Very dog friendly. No rush to leave as my son and I played a game of cards. Even when it was super busy. Thank you

Decent brunch options, plenty of choice for vegetarian foods. Staff friendly and knowledgeable, food was quickly delivered and no issues at all. Only reason for not 5 stars, bit pricey on cake slices for the portion size.

Shocking level of customer service! We understand that we have to order at the till but when our food arrived the waitress essentially slammed our plates on the table and walked off like we an inconvenience to her… They all walked round miserable and clueless and they messed up both of our orders. We didn’t even feel the point in raising it with them because of the lack of care that was overwhelmingly visible. Clearly some better training is needed. Food was cold and tasteless. Very poor experience unlike when we have been to the Carlisle one! Would not recommend!!!!

In the area for an overnight stay, called in here initially for a coffee however, spied the breakfast sarnie, outstanding, loads on it and with the breakfast deal was worth every penny. We'll certainly be back in when next in the area in a few weeks time. The staff were also brilliant, very pleasant, polite and helpful. We'd certainly recommend here to anyone.

I've been a regular at Costa Coffee in Ambleside for some time now, and each visit reaffirms why I keep coming back. The staff are consistently friendly and accommodating, always greeting customers with a warm smile. Despite the occasional busyness, they manage to serve efficiently without compromising on quality.

Sat there for dinner, the staff was nice and inviting, the place was full so it took a min to find a place but the food was great, even for a pub, the beer and wine selection was nice

Yet another couple who found it impossible to work for Humphrey Smith. Their initial enthusiasm quickly turned to despondency as long, poorly-paid hours and the policicies of this despotic boss put paid to the career ambitions of two more promising young managers. Such a crying shame, as this is a wonderful pub in a great location. One wonders how the young Sam Smith can bear to watch his father's policies and attitude decimate the Brewery Estate, compromise his inheritance and turn the feudal Tadcaster into a ghost town. Even the flagship brewery tap, The Angel and White Horse, next to the Brewery has long since closed down. A recent, polite telephone enquiry to the Head Office as to the reason for the sudden closure of The Heversham Hotel and the likelihood of its re-opening was swiftly and curtly deflected by 'I'm afraid we cannot comment'. In view of Mr. H. Smith's inability to retain his pub managers, it's very surprising that there is anyone left at The Old Brewery in Tadcaster who is prepared to stay on and brew his otherwise very pleasant and reasonably-priced beers. I wonder how they put up with his tantrums and volatility? It is to be hoped that son, Sam Smith, will reverse such an egregious management style and salvage the reputation of this once very popular and highly-regarded historic Yorkshire Brewery.

If you're in the area you must try this place, the flat iron steaks are delicious. Service is fairly quick and polite and the atmosphere is good... it's a good idea to book a table because it's very popular with the local people....This restaurant did close down and I'm not sure if it's still closed.
