Good coffee, but what's the point of offering table service at self serve checkouts if you're then asked to wait by the counter for your food and drink?

The food was not nice at all. Very greasy, cheaply and poorly made fast food junk. My bacon sandwich or bacon bagel as it were was pathetic and my girlfriend left half of her what I think was a club sandwich of some kind, the bread had been fried in oil and the fried chicken wasn't nice at all. We liked it here when it first opened but the last visit was appalling and won't be back again. I just wish we got photos of the poor quality and asked for our money back but mrs doesn't like to fuss. Disgusting food that wasn't exactly cheap.

The peanut butter stack is amazing, had breakfast here and have always enjoyed them. They do a great moch frappe and always have some specials on like the pistachio cold brew latte.

Me and my husband and usually regular at bob and Bert's when we are in town. Today's service was not good at all! The lady Liv at the til was rushing us for an order. When we did order she made us repeat the order three different times and she didn't put it though correctly. Once we paid they took 15 minutes to make our drinks and forgot mine even though I could see the staff chatting in front of me. When our food arrived the order was wrong. I told the server 3 times I wanted loaded halloumi fries and they sent me fries with a few pieces of halloumi. I asked where my order was and server stated that this is what I wanted and paid for and of I wanted loaded fries I need to order it again. I asked what I should do with the wrong order and said "whatever" and didn't want to take it back . I already paid over £40 for this order and did not want to reorder. We will not be coming back.

Service could have been a tad better/friendlier despite the Iced Caramel Latte being really good. Perfect for the abnormally warm May weather. Plenty of seating inside as well as a cosy outdoor section. Definitely worth a revisit. It would have been 5 stars if not for the slightly cold service.

Great coffee and a breakfast sandwich

I've been eating at Bob and Berts, whenever I'm up north for quite a while. Always head for the Full Fry Up but I don't like eggs or tomatoes. No problem. What would you like instead ? This time, Wednesday 10th April, I'm told that the substitute items will cost me extra ! Not what I was expecting. Apparently there's a new system. Only once I'd left did it occur to me that the egg and the tomatoe are being paid for but not served, and technically sold again. Won't let it spoil my next visit, but I shall be careful what I order.

May aswell have gone to your local nightclub for breakfast. The music is stupidly loud. Absolute racket while your eating. So annoying

I have been to Bob Preston before and I was not sure I wanted to dine here. But we did come for lunch (instead of bfast) and I was not disappointed. We had burgers and they were fine. I say fine because we did feel they were on the pricier end and they were not THAT special. Yet, once again, great coffee, lovely atmosphere. Will I visit again? Possibly.

Absolute shambolic. Sunday 23rd March. Staff busy running round and doing nothing.

Nothing is vegan or vegetarian because meat and veggie stuff is all cooked on the same griddle, according to the staff. Allergen nightmare waiting to happen. If you have any dietary limits, avoid x Stars are for the staff who are lovely, very helpful, and bend over backwards to answer questions and resolve problems.

Went in to waste bit of time whilst I waited for phone repair. Ordered a strawberry shake. Paid £3.95 and shake was barely half way full. Was nice but was gone within four sips. Very expensive for a tiny drink

Nicest burger ever. Nice surroundings. Well executed food without a long wait. Reasonably priced for the taste of the food. Can get busy here at peak times but well worth the wait or altering your lunch time to accommodate. Didn't try the cakes but they seemed to have a good variety and plenty of people had come in for a hot drink and a cake.

me and my girlfriend walked in today to order a medium hot chocolate. as my girlfriend paid and we made our way to the collection part the manager muttered "she was happy wasn't she?" to her colleague. I heard this and confronted her, I reminded her that people have stuff going on in life and if she's okay talking about customer as they walk off? she never apologised and kept smiling, although she went a bit red in the face after I called her out.

Met friends for a coffee with toddler in tow. High chair available but dirty. Impressed with light bright positive vibe. Food and drink choice good and ciabatta was tasty. Staff really friendly and approachable. Cost is a little pricey but would recommend and visit again.

Best place to eat.. Whoever the chef is.. Needs a promotion, the food is delicious, it's very fresh, the staff are lovely, will definitely keep coming back 😋

Lovely aesthetic and staff, but my god the food was underwhelming, eggs Benedict was so plain and boring neither my partner or I finished it. Flat white was nice enough but a regular is the size of a shot glass (ok maybe slightly bigger). Also charged £3.30 for a vitamin water, come on man!!

Ordered cheese on toast, took 20 minutes to arrive. The toast was barely brown and the cheese pale, insipid and looked like it had been grilled over candlelight. Music too loud. Good coffee though hence 2*

Seems like a nice spot. Menu reasonable. Pity the staff were so utterly disengaged. No hello, curt instructions, the server plonked my cup down and turned away without a word. I found the cutlery and sugar myself. Lots of coffee houses in Bury, be a while before I return. Shame, coffee was good.

I've been here a few times now and always found it pleasant, with lots of food options and kind staff. I agree with some of the other reviews about the prices being too much for what you get so I don't go here often. Very chill, quiet atmosphere though which is a nice change to the rest of The Rock.

General good environment, staff helpful and seating was available. Busy day with Christmas shopping on.

I thought the place was a bit expensive especially at £2.10 for a can of pop

Ordered the Christmas special Teaser Hot Chocolate, was delicious. Throughly enjoyed the the cream on top. However, once sat down and finished my drink, I began studying. After a while a staff member approached me and asked whether I had ordered, my friend told me that people were waiting to be seated. I noticed that I was the only one asked about my order, am I not allowed to sit down and study?

You can't charge these prices for food this poor. £12 for Water gravy, flaccid unseasoned chips and a cold festive panini which was 90% stuffing, Billy bear ham and I think I found some turkey. Dreadful.

Nothing special really. Cheap and tacky looking inside and devoid of any atmosphere. That said the coffee was good. Would I go again?... I don't think so.

The food was lovely and the service was quick but everything needed a bit of a clean as the tables and chairs were sticky.

Some meals are good for the cost, paninis are terrible, service is OK, but meal was left on the serving table until we asked if that was ours. It was, and it had gone cold and dry.

We called in for a bite to eat and a drink , ordering at the till was fine but then waited about 25 mins for our food, when it finally arrived the poached eggs were cold and tasteless, we sent them back and waited another 15 mins ,but it was only luke warm , for what we paid it is not good so hence to say will not be paying another visit here

My sister introduced me to Bob & Berts, and every time I go, I'm not disappointed. Food is amazing, reasonably priced, the staff are great and just generally a really nice place to go.

When will restaurants learn not to microwave pastry(sausage roll) it’s completely destroys it and ruins taste and texture!!! Sausage roll quite dry and lacking flavour Coffee was ok but lacked body Cinnamon roll ate cold but also a bit dry as if made a day before … but if you microwave it then would disguise this…. But it would also be chewy not soft as should be

Food was pretty poor. Chips were sad - like from KFC. Panini and coleslaw just wasn't up to standard.

Went to this coffee Bar yesterday ordered Poached eggs on toast & Bacon. Eggs were very small Toast was thin bread, had to butter ourselves meanwhile the meal was Cold We were really disappointed. In other Establishments we always get crispy thick toast much tastier and also Buttered. Nearly half the price. Will give them a miss in future

Very surprised at some of the bad reviews on here. I tried the breakfast offer and had a large flat white with an avocado and halloumi brioche, which came to £6. Not an absolute bargain, but miles better than you would get at the leading American fast food joint or the leading Canadian one a short walk away. The coffee was hot and fresh, a little mild for me, but really I should have gone for an Americano to be able to compare it against the big boy coffee brands nearby. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were very polite and friendly. I was provided with a loyalty card, so only another 8 more coffees until I get a free one. Check out my photos. It's a great place for a cup of coffee. While it may not be the most economical option in the vicinity, the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting.

I love Bob and Berts, my poached eggs were stone cold today, so they took it back and re did the whole breakfast.

Nice place but a bit pricey. I was there on a weekday, but a lot of the empty tables looked like they could have done with some clearing up. All things considered, it's a nice place.

Had chicken on panini. Chicken was hard and salad looked about a week old, not cheap either. Not a place I will be visiting again in a hurry.

Restaurant was busy when we went, managed to get a table however floor under table was dirty and table not cleared. Food arrived quickly after ordering, I ordered vegan dog, it was covered in curry sauce which was not pleasant, was meant to have fried onions but only found a few pieces of raw onion. Friends both had halloumi salad, they were not impressed, lack of salad ingredients and not very tasty. Would not return.

I've been here a few times now and the tidiness is hit and miss. This is generally the first thing to go here and last thing on their mind. The staff I feel are young kids doing a part time role with a few longer terms trying to teach them so it's on the cheap. It really needs to take a step back, stop trying to be macky Ds speed with a touch of Frankie and Bennys. Be individual, providing something unique and better. It's not the cheapest place but the food is ok. It's American style but a tad hit and miss.

Been bob & berts a few times & everytime the food gets a little worse ,biscoff milkshake with no biscoff ,loaded fries with hardly any toppings ,cesar wrap with no cesar & far too much chilli ,burger with so much chilli mayo on it i can still taste chilli an hour later ,all in all a waste of £40 let's just say bob & berts we won t be back

Always enjoy coming to eat and drink here. It's my go to place in Bury. Staff always polite ,food lovely. Thank you keep up the good work

THE BEST coffee shop in Greater Manchester. The atmosphere 10/10 Friendly and efficient staff 10/10 Food and menu 10/10 Venue, decor, music 10/10 And especially Rachel - always smiling, great etiquette, remembers people’s orders, fast worker and super kind - give this girl a pay rise!

Great place if you have allergies as an extensive menu for gluten free and great selection and large portions too for those with a healthy appetite, wonderful atmosphere and will definitely be going back when next in Bury.

Eggs Benedict was nice and tasty, though the eggs weren't very runny inside. Latte was warm and coffee taste was strong (which is good as I like my coffee with a bitter bite). Wife got Bob's Famous Fry which she enjoyed apart from the pancake "it doesn't taste right" was the reason... Also had a blueberry muffin and a scone. Wife enjoyed the scone and blueberry muffin was tasty but had a buttercream(?) filling which was duly scraped out. It's sweet and tasty without anything extra required. You order at the counter and they bring your food over but you take your drinks away. Cutlery and condiments are also self-serve. Didn't interact much with the staff but they seemed friendly enough. Sandwiches and other foods on display all looked tempting and I will hopefully try their non breakfast menu another time.

If there is such a thing as "Good Average", Bob and Berts nails that. The food quality was hit and miss. The Breakfast Brioche for example was amazing. The egg yolk was runny, the bacon was crisp, the sausage was just the right amount of sweet and the brioche roll was like a toasted pillow. But then on the flip side, the frosted cinnamon bun was stale with the consistency of drywall. The service was polite and friendly but very slow. As someone with a lot of customer facing experience, I'd never expect people to work at 100%, 100% of the time but not a single person was in a rush with any aspect. It was slightly bizarre. The pricing was, I'd say very fair. My order of a Milky Bar Frappe, Breakfast Brioche and Cinnamon Bun came to around £15, which isn't bad. Average one might say. I don't think it's a place I will ever go out of my way to visit, but I would be comforted seeing one in an unfamiliar town as a safe bet...for breakfast atleast.

Decent enough coffee and hot chocolate, but the soft chairs by the window are filthy, long overdue binning and replacing.

Beef burger and chips worsted food ever eaten absolutely full of grease. Dont waste your money, believe it or not go to McDonald's.

Nice place to get away from the shopping crowds! It's quite big but can fill up. Food is good, veggie and vegan options too, coffee is good! Grab a window seat and watch the world go by.

Stopped for a coffee and a hot chocolate with an unflattering picture of my wife enjoying her hot chocolate 😆! Didn't have any food, but all looked amazing with the food that was being served . Will definitely call back for a bit to eat !!

Rapid service and great choice of food n cakes.

Our first visit to B&B and to be fair only popped in to get out of the poor weather. The staff were really friendly and helpful with food choices, which in the end was only a coffee and a cake. It has a pleasant atmosphere, a tad fish bowl-ish with the huge windows overlooking the pedestrian walkway. There's no reason not to go back on our next visit to the town.

An amazing place for food and drinks. Impeccable service and the food was stunning.

Lots of staff, very little service. Filthy tables and food left everywhere. 4 staff behind the bar, minimum of 5 in the kitchen and a whole 5 minutes with non on the floor clearing or delivering. Coffee was alright, no part of the experience made returning a hot priority.

The food was great but the music was too loud my husband is hard of hearing and even he thought it was loud 😪

Just average but not average prices ,cost £17 for panini,cake and coffee! Chicken was a bit chewy in panini Food was delivered to table and then was told to go get own cutlery from a box in middle of restaurant that she had just walked past !!! Paying £17 for table service then having to do it myself Bizzare! Just be nice to go that extra mile and bring it over would of been a nice touch. Staff were busy chatting to even manage a smile and a thanks when I collected my coffee. Table was in need of a wipe too Overall just average not value for money

Bob and Bert's is an excellent place for coffee and lunch. I definitely prefer it to standard coffee shops. The food is extremely tasty, and I love the atmosphere.

Decent food but could have been warmer

Great quality food . I'm gluten free so its brilliant for me. Staff very polite and friendly. Mobile phone charge points , free water. The extra touches make all the difference.

Called in here for some lunch today with my wife and 5 of our friends. Initially this was because it was the first we found that was dog friendly but what a lucky find. Quite extensive menu, food was really good and reasonably priced and service was quick. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely call here again.
