Blue's Restaurant & Bar in Fenland

Wow, just returned from the worst restaurant experience I've ever encountered. Three of the starters we wanted were not available,( on a Saturday night FFS). It took twenty minutes for the staff to tell us this. One of the beers ordered had also run out. When the main meal eventually arrived the sea bass did not have the potatoes stated on the menu and the asparagus was missing, we could not decide what the cockle butter sauce actually was. The tomahawk pork I ordered was soft and fatty. The apparent Blues signature sauce which accompanied it turned up half way through the meal and appeared to be ordinary gravy. They tried to placate us with a free drink but when the beer you originally wanted wasn't available it missed the point. I'm not sure what has happened to this restaurant from the last time I went there but I had to bite my lip at the end of this terrible meal and leave it my partner to say how disappointed we were. We couldn't get out of there fast enough after being there for two hours waiting for a two course meal! We won't be going back.

Chicken sizzler so over powered with the spices could not eat it. Creamy mushroom were oily in milk and cheese sauce, croutons in the salads were cut up "fried Bread" full of oil, waited ages. We will not return there unless we hear there is a new Chef!!

Visited on Mother's Day for a Sunday Roast. Everything was perfect and staff were very friendly despite it being busy! Would definitely recommend and will be returning for sure.

We had a fabulous Sunday Roast which we couldn’t fault. The lamb fell off the bone and was the best lamb shank we’d ever had. Veg was cooked to perfection as were the Yorkshire puds and stuffing. Huge servings which left us unable to order desert but maybe next time as we will definitely return. Can’t recommend enough, perfect meal, very nice atmosphere and genuinely lovely friendly staff.

Absolutely amazing food,very tasty homemade food , presented lovely and lots of it,friendly, spot on service 😋 we all had steaks,my son had the tomahawk,massive but demolished the lot, all came with chips,homemade coleslaw, salad,onion rings and a choice of sauces. We wasn't going to have deserts but after looking at the menu 😋 be rude not too x

Great night out for friends, couples and families. Fantastic service from the lovely ladies here. Food was amazing, plentiful and reasonably priced. Great selection of drinks. Would recommend trying this great restaurant.

Food was excellent, well worth the wait and the staff were friendly. Would visit again without a doubt.

Firstly the food was lovely. The menu didn't list everything that was on my plate, which was a shame as I hate food waste and don't eat kale or broccolini, so that was wasted. Lamb was very nice and tender and the steak cooked perfectly - no complaints about the food. Service just needs to be a bit slicker. Eg a table were given lunch menus for dinner, waited ages to swap them, then had to wait another while before ordering. Staff are lovely, but need some training and to be a bit more aware of tables. Very reasonable cost and we'd come again.

I don't recommend this restaurant. The service was the WORSE ever got in my life. Honestly. I never leave reviews on pages, but people need to be aware of what could happen. Everything started with “kids” running a restaurant. I was expecting good things about this place, because I know one of the owners and that was the main reason why I was choosing this place for dinner. Arriving to the restaurant, they sat us at the table and straight away you could see the staff didn't had any type of organization, was everything looking really messy. I don't believe this team have proper training, no ONE HELPED EACH OTHER! We waited 40 minutes, to have someone coming to the table to order. (What a joke). We tried to ask about it to one of the girls previously and she answer us: “Please wait, my colleague will be back for the drinks”. We try to speak with another one after 15 minutes, and we get exactly the same answer. After 20 minutes, the same girl was just on the bar, without helping or trying to support the other workers, my partner decide go out from the table and go to the bar and ASK HERSELF FOR A DRINK. For the first 40 minutes, I just see 2 girls around the tables, and the girl on the bar, she was cleaning a couple of cups and honestly she was trying to look busy, but honestly you could see she didn't have what to do. I'm writing this because I think this could KILL your business. If customers will be waiting please be SMART, and trying to bring couple of drinks early. Your staff is not looking after your business believe me. Bringing the drinks took it around 15 minutes. What was fine. After all this time waiting for drinks and to order, we waited 1 and 20 minutes hour for the food. During this period of time, we was thinking just give up pay the drinks and leave., why we didn't done it? Strange things start happening during this period of the time. Some women cooker with glasses (if I'm not wrong) from the kitchen, start having a argue with one customer in the middle of the restaurant because he was not happy with the food, because it WAS COLD and when she decide return to the kitchen, next to the bar where you got one door, and she push the door HARD against the wall saying couple of swearing words, my partner she was with her back for the bar and she get scared with all this noise caused by this situation. Please teach your Staff how to treat customers, if someone is unhappy, they should have another type of attitude. When the food arrive after almost 3 hours inside the restaurant and 30 minutes to be shut down, we decide start eating the meal (WAS NOT HOT) my tomahawk steak, was a totally rubbish. When we start eating, the Staff just bring the steak, was not chips or salad. For both of the meals. After 7/9 minutes eating the steak we decide to ask to someone, why we was not receiving the sides? The girl just said, please give me a second I need to ask. The other girl asked from one side to her “what they want?” This was in the middle of the restaurant. Ridiculous! Almost when I finish my steak, I had the sides. When I decide to leave the restaurant, when it was time to pay the bill, some girl ask me it was everything ok? My partner just told her, it was ridiculous the time we been waiting to take a basic meal. We been 3 hours here. The staff start straight away with excuses, normally the service is faster, today we got one customer was causing a lot of trouble and we was extremely stressed. EXCUSE? 2 PERSONS PAID ALMOST £100.00, for 2 meals, do I care if they got issue with customer, because the food was cold? It's not my business. IF THE GIRLS START HELPING EACH OTHER, MAYBE THINGS COULD RUN SMOOTHIE. OPEN YOUR EYES AND START CHECKING THE CAMERAS FROM THE RESTAURANT, MAYBE YOU WILL BE SURPRISE. AND MAKE SURE YOUR TEAM, WORK has a TEAM! I try to be most clear and straight forward in this matter, because unfortunately I will never be back to this place. It was the worse experience I got in Wisbech, was easier order kebab, get it in 15 minutes and paid £8.99.

Last minute booking on a Wednesday evening so pleased we found this little gem, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, nice drink at the bar then showed to our table, extensive menu all cooked and served beautifully the only negative was we had to wait too long for our meals to arrive but it would not put me off going back or recommending it

Went here for a birthday celebration afternoon tea, for the price it was awful. There was only 2 finger sandwiches each, a few of the tiniest sausage rolls, pork pies & scotch eggs, 1 plain scone and a few cakes for 9 people. There was one waitress on her own, we had a tea cup no saucer or spoon, we asked several times if we could have a top up. At the end we find out we were charged £45.00 for the extra tea, which was a shock when they had made money from the alcohol one round was £40.00. When the extra cost of the tea the manager got argumentative and aggressive. Avoid at all costs!

If you want a truly amazing meal, with a great atmosphere and fabulously friendly staff, then look no further. This is the place to go in Wisbech.

We have visited this establishment a few times now as just moved to the area…so far so good..every time we have visited the food and the staff have been good..keep up the good work..as today to find an establishment like that is a rarity..

Family outing which did not disappoint. Excellent menu catering for a variety of tastes. Food quality and presentation was first class. Servers showed genuine enthusiasm and warmth. A lovely night out.
